Motel One in Glasgow City

This Motel One used to be my favorite hotel in Glasgow but this will be my last time staying with them. Unfortunately, management has decided to turn the ability to cool your room off and it is unbearably hot; even now at the end of October. I was given a fan by the front desk and told management turned the cooling system off. The window doesn't open wide enough to help much and it's too hot to sleep. It's not the employees fault so I gave 5 stars for service but I wouldn't recommend you stay here. The last time I stayed here I could regulate the room temperature. I'll be moving to a different hotel tomorrow.

Terrible stay. Small. Noisy. Dirty room. Intermittent hot/cold water in the shower. No drinking water available. People arguing and shouting in rooms. The doors to rooms slam and shake your room too which constantly disturbs sleep. The only positive was a comfy bed. I had booked this place based on positive reviews. Would never stay here again.

Perfect location, beautiful ambience :)

Stayed for one night for the Rangers game. Stunning hotel, lovely furnishings, tea and coffee choices. Modern shower and great wall mounted flat screen tv. Bar is probably the best hotel bar you will find, comfy chairs and chandeliers, and its open until two in the morning for hotel guests. Central Station a skip and a jump away. Top drawer hotel.

I had a wicked time staying at Motel One Glasgow for two nights. This place is right smack in the middle of the city, so it's super easy to get around and check out all the cool stuff Glasgow has to offer. The hotel itself is really stylish, with a modern vibe that's totally chill. The rooms might be a bit small, but they're super cozy and have everything you need. The beds are super comfy, and the bathrooms are clean and tidy. Glasgow is a rad city with a ton of history and culture. You can check out the Glasgow Cathedral, wander around the Merchant City, or hit up the West End for some trendy shops and restaurants. I loved visiting Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum – it's got an awesome collection of art and artifacts. For a night out, Sauchiehall Street is the place to be. There are loads of bars, clubs, and live music venues to choose from. Whether you're into pubs or fancy cocktails, you'll find something you like. All in all, my stay at Motel One Glasgow was awesome. It's a great spot to stay if you're visiting Glasgow and want to be close to everything. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cool and comfortable place to stay.

Decent hotel with decent rooms. I enjoyed the breakfast, even though they were a little slow to refill/restock any items that had run out. The location was really good, very close to the city center. Walking distance to many important things in the city you’d want to see as a tourist.

Loved the location, room, shower, comfort and views of Glasgow. Extra special surroundings whilst having a cocktail and brilliant prices!

Very central hotel, super good location for the train and metro to visit the city

A three-star motel that could very well be a 4-star hotel... The only thing I miss is the restaurant... It has a parking lot just 50 meters away and they give you a discount on it. Highly recommended

At the central station. In the middle if the city, but sometimes awful surroundings. Nice, but small rooms.

Nothing different from Motel One. Always the same good standard. Location super central, right at the Central Station. The only minus: breakfast very limited in terms of space and economical in terms of selection (didn't bother me). But if you want to relax and eat a lot of breakfast, you should get up early. We were there at 7:30 and there was almost no space left.

Comfortable bed, decent room for the price, clean. Buffet lunch, after 9am there is less choice.

Excellent service but I was a bit disappointed with the room, because it was QUITE small. I've stayed at a few Motel Ones and this is the only time I've had/seen a tiny room, particularly for two people. The shower pressure was also not brilliant. Everything else was good.

Beautiful decor, great breakfast! Rooms are on the tight side, but well laid out.

Perfect location for visiting the center of Glasgow. Excellent welcome. Large room. Complete and quality buffet breakfast. Covered public parking 3 minutes' walk away, the hotel having negotiated a price of 9 Pounds per 24 hours. Lounge bar with very comfortable sofas and armchairs. Excellent address.

It was my first time to stay. I read good reviews, so I stayed for 3 nights. The staff at the check-in counter were very nice. The room was quite comfortable. The large bath towels were of good quality. There was a safe, TV, hairdryer, kettle, coffee bags, and tea bags. , there is no small refrigerator, the room has a little design style, the experience of staying for 3 nights is not bad, the location is convenient, happy!

Decided to spend 3 nights away as relaxing time away from the hectic life. Got to the hotel to find the tv only has 2 working channels that you can watch. BBC one reporting Scotland and E4. Reported this to the staff and apparently this is common knowledge. Spending over £400 for a better room for better relaxation to find out we could in fact not relax at night and wind down with a drink due to no tv which was unfixable. This was a very long stay and weather wasn’t great either so going out for a wonder wasn’t really an option. Pub crawl it was. The large double bed was also in fact just 2 single beds pushed together. Not ideal. So our chilled relaxing few days away turned out not to be so relaxing

The rooms are small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in cleanliness and convenience

GENERAL : Please NOTE if you're checking in at 3pm it is very busy with a long queue!! Clean hotel, very quiet in rooms, excellent air conditioning, fantastic bed and pillows. POSITIVES: Very plush inside rooms and lobby. Directly outside Central Train station. Good continental breakfast. COULD BE BETTER: I missed an Iron in the bedroom. Easier to use TV I had a right mare. Fridge in room. Guy in lobby asking for room numbers and names in the evening was either rude or deaf. "VAT IST YOUR NAHME UNT NUMBA!"

Stayed here at the start of December for work purposes. Great, welcoming and friendly staff. Comfy rooms and a chilled common area! I'm back again tomorrow for work and have chosen to stay at Motel One again! The central location is perfect also.

Service is good enough. Small room, but for 1 or 2 persons on a business or budget trip, works well. Clean. They provide shower gel and hand-wash. Clean towels provided.

Right near Glasgow Central train station. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Located near lots of restaurants. Wheelchair accessible. Clean. Spacious. Amazing views. Will definitely stay there again on my next visit to Glasgow

Our room was TINY. We had 2 twin beds and barely enough room for our luggage. The location was good though, right next to the Central railway station and within walking distance of a lot of shops, restaurants and pubs. I would recommend walking down to Buchanan for some great shopping.

Great Central location, right next to Glasgow Central train station. Rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast is continental only, but plenty to choose from and tasty. Recommended

Excellent hotel, very well located and close to secure parking when arriving by car. The reception staff were very friendly and the room was very clean on the 8th floor. I highly recommend this hotel, and the price was good

Absolutely outstanding welcome at the hotel. Check-in was a charm, hotel bar staff super nice, breakfast staff very attentive. 1 point down for an ice cold bathroom with no option to heat it; bar staff not properly trained with regards to hygiene (fingers in glass; touching ingredients with their hands etc.). Ground level bathroom was a disappointment compared to the rest of the hotel. Would I go there again: Yes, absolutely! Is there room for improvement: Yes, at very little effort you could score much better!

Right in the center, usual MotelOne standard, very nice lobby. Chaotic breakfast… Setup, walking paths and replenishment of dishes could easily be improved.

Good drinks in a nice location.

Staff were great and very helpful . Room was clean. But no heating in the room and very thin quilt.

Easy check-in, easier check-out. Friendly staff and right in the heart of the city.

Lovely rooms and great view of the city

Absolutely lovely hotel & absolutely lovely staff. The reception staff were absolutely amazing and were so lovely to chat to. The rooms were a lovely size, the bed was super comfy and the shower was absolutely lush!!! Was incredibly affordable to stay for 2 nights and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend, wish I tried the breakfast but completely forgot about it.

It is one of the best hotel we have ever been. Don’t let the “motel” name fool you, it’s a super hotel. The staff are very nice, polite and helpful. The rooms are fine, good wifi everywhere. Nice interior, and it’s location is also the best! It has a well equipped bar too with a wide variety of booze available. Our room was quiet, the door and the windows isolated most of the noise. Highly recommend if visiting Glasgow.

The perfect city centre location. Nice rooms and a great bar. Friendly staff. We loved the hotel. Quiet room too so great sound proofing. One small gripe. The £13 per person continental breakfast option. Wetherspoons is right across the road.

Stayed here for 11 nights was upgraded to a bigger room which was fantastic , location great , bed was comfy, only down fall that I was disappointed in was rooms dont have fridges, as a international travel it got expensive buying fresh food and drinks all the time especially after paying so much for this hotel , ..previous in Edinburgh our hotel has a fridge...

The location is very practical because it is in front of the train station although that makes the area a little dirty. The rooms are very nice, the staff is very helpful. The bar is beautiful and we really liked the candy 😊

Had a lovely stay at motel one in Glasgow less 2 minutes walk from Glasgow central come out hope street entrance and u are there staff friendly helpfull spotless breakfast lovely its contamtal bar cocktails are amazing no draft beers just bottles myself and partner loved it lovely king size bed and large shower

I had a great week weekend as a single visitor on a 🩼 They gave me a wheelchair accessible room which was fantastic, nothing I could fall over 🙃 Great range of wines at a reasonable price in the bar. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Will be back again 👍

I only stayed for 2 days, and the stay was simply wonderful. The breakfast is wonderful

Good Staff at the desk and room spotless

Unfortunately, I left my only charger in the room where I stayed for 3 days. I think Casper destroyed it. The lost day someone brought me a beautiful bath. The authorities are upset that they did not check after the cleaning was done and stated that they talked to the person who did the cleaning and there was nothing in the room. Congratulations, excellent operation, excellent business management. In summary, it is necessary to stay away from places that do not have a minimum standards.

Stayed for one night and I was very pleased with my visit. Funky reception area with a bar/seating area too. Room was small and modern, with a decently sized shower. Would deffo come back!

Nice hotel and really nice stuff

Taking the price into consideration, this was a fantastic experience. For context, we ordered two double rooms and it was cheaper than an Airbnb! As expected, they were spotless. Also this hotel is very very centralised in the Glasgow town centre. The customer service reps onsite were very knowledgeable about local tourism spots and lent us 3 umberellas as it started tipping it down! Luggage storage was also included and was very simple to deal with.

Perfect for the traveller or just local and needing a break. Great access to wonderful restaurants abd amenities

An interesting hotel for under £100 per night for an excellent room slap bang in the middle of Glasgow. It’s no 5 star hotel, it’s not got a restaurant apart from a breakfast area but it has got a popular bar and lounge that occupies most of the ground floor and is frequented by diverse Glasgow society people. The rooms are clean and air conditioned but amenities are few. A kettle, tea and coffee and soap and shampoo are provided, as it plentiful towelling but no robes or slippers or other such niceties. Adequate wardrobe capacity and a room safe are also provided as is free and fast WiFi. My Samsung TV only showed 2 channels. Size wise, rooms are good, if not large, and the carpeting is starting to show minor signs of wear. However, in this day and age of ballooning hotel prices, this is a little gem.

When we arrived we were warmly greeted and given recommendations of thongs to do in the local area. The bar had a nice vibe, rooms were spotless and spacious.

Had an amazing 3 nights with my new partner,who flew in from Galway.What a place & what a woman.Had'nt seen her in nearly 38yrs & we clicked like it was yesterday.Already planning our next stay!Thank you!💖😘x

Great hotel, staff were friendly drinks were good prices. Super clean, amazing view. Honestly can't say enough about this hotel, the beds are easily the best beds I've ever slept in, late 3 pm checkout was also amazing for a lie Inn after a night on the town 😅💙
