Mosset Tavern in Moray

Had a lovely family meal here. Gorgeous wee restaurant, staff attentive and friendly. Great menu with a wide selection and they carefully cater for dietary requirements. Would Highly recommend

When we entered the Tavern we were met with a very friendly smiley member of staff which was lovely. There were 4 of us having a meal, 2 had the Chicken Schnitzels and they both said it was delicious. I had Fillet of Scrabster Haddock, yum, yum, and my sister in law had the Mosset Burger which she enjoyed very much. My husband and sister in law had dessert, Ikky Sticky Toffee pudding and Banoffee Meringue. (Photo below) We had a lovely evening, all the staff were very friendly, I have no hesitation in recommending the establishment. Looking forward to our next visit.

Wow, just wow, Mosset Tavern is the place to go. We had booked a table for dinner and was blown away by the really nice food, (highly recommend the Sunday carvery) All the staff were very nice to us and so attentive. Price was great too. Massive thumbs up from me, keep it up folks.

Food is always of a very high standard....scallops and ox cheeks just excellent . Melt in your mouth. Priced very reasonably for the quality served. Staff very friendly.

I know I go here a lot, but it really can't be faulted.the food and drink are always great. The key thing however is the quality of the service, it is always top notch . In short a great place to go.

A nice tavern, divided in a dining room (open to all) and a pub (not accessible to children). Very nice staff, efficient service, complete menu, good choice of beers. The food is prepared with attention, and is really good. Exception for the ice cream that was really poor in our opinion.

We came here after raving about it last year on our visit to Forres, excited to leave our favourite restaurant till our last night here and to introduce our favourite eatery to my partner. When we were given the menus we realised that it had changed massively - reduction in choices, mostly seafood based, and the prices were extortionate compared to other places we had eaten in the week. We ordered prawns to start and small sirloin steaks that were a whopping £26.80! (Not even Miller & Carter steakhouse charge that for a sirloin steak!) However - we paid it because we knew it was amazing last time and expected the same. The prawns never turned up and out came the mains. All over cooked, tasted purely of charcoal / the grill and covered in gristle. The garlic butter was essentially water and the quality was unbelievably disappointing. The best part of the meal was the grilled tomatoes. Our waitress was so apologetic and lovely, and I was so upset as it was that we just paid the bill and left as quickly as possible without too much complaint other than expressing our dismay. However - I would recommend that people venture out to other areas such as Nairn & Elgin for meals or to other areas of Forres. We won’t be returning - which has been a huge heartache of this trip.

We went here for a funeral wake. The staff were excellent. The food and service was good .Downside was it needs more parking

Our first visit to the Tavern and very impressed. Although we stay in Inverness we shall certainly visit again. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Most importantly the restaurant food was just so good. The starters of Thai style fish cakes and the sticky Korean chicken fillets were so tasty. From the signature dishes we chose the superb braised ox cheeks and the fillet of haddock. Although the restaurant was busy staff service was very good.

Fantastic food,good service. Shame the staff could not calm a rowdy party, using foul language. Cousing a lot of folk to leave.

We are fairly regular visits to this Forres restaurant and have never been disappointed. There is a large reasonably priced menu, service is always friendly and surprisingly quick, as it is always busy. Most importantly the food is nicely presented and most enjoyable. Car parking can be slightly problematic at busy times. Recommended

Managed to visit several times over the summer while at our caravan in Findhorn. Staff are brilliant, very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and very hard working. Great atmosphere despite social distancing. Beer garden was lovely sitting with a Gin by the Riverside soaking up the sun. Restaurant has beautiful decor and the food is delicious, always served piping hot and promptly. Definitely worth a visit if you are in area.

Unexpected find for a late lunch. Service was great and food was even better! My partner has the haddock goujons and I had the steak and ale pie. They both came fresh and piping hot. One of the best pies I’ve ever tasted. The fish was very tasty too. Highly recommend a visit

It is a very safe and clean restaurant and pub and service very good. My burger and chips tasted good. My mum had a roast dinner. She wasn't asked how many slices of meat she wanted nor did they advise what vegetables were on offer. Yorkshire pudding was overcooked. Carrots were hard.Can you please ask people how many sices of meat they would like and advise customers what vegetables are available that day with the roast dinner

Wow wow wow!! Me and my friend made a late minute reservation after a recommendation from a friend and we both left the Mosset Tavern with very happy bellies! The service was amazing (all staff very friendly, attentive and warm as well as adhering to social distancing). The food was fantastic, honestly could not fault any of it. It all tasted fresh and of great quality. The restaurant it’s self was very warm and comfortable, it was rather cosy actually. I think I am going to be making the trip rather often from Inverness as I was so pleased with everything. If you’re looking for a new place to try in the Highlands, this is strongly recommended from a total foodie! Ps the churros are a must!

Had a family lunch for 2 kids and 2 adults whilst on holiday and have got to say their servings was very generous. Food tasted as delicious as it looked. Ordered prawn cocktails, roast quail, steak & fish meals for the kids and absolutely enjoyed it. Didnt have to wait long for the meal and they did pretty good with Covid preparation etc. Ended up taking left overs home and cannot fault the staffs. Fantastic service. Only wish that they have their restaurants all over Uk because everyone needs this type of hearty meals every now and again.
