Morton Village Fish and Chip Shop in South Kesteven

Moved to Lincolnshire a while back and found this chip shop in the nearby village of Morton , A proper old style chippie ! The fish and the chips are cooked in Beef dripping and taste amazing , This chip shop concentrates on Fish and Chips with a few side lines like chicken bites and Scampi nothing else. First went here in Feb 2021 and have been returning once a week ever since .

I went to Morton fish & chip shop and it was busy; there was a bit of a queue. Even though the shop has changed hands, the new owners seem to have the same philosophy of everything cooked fresh to order. This does mean that at peak periods you can't just dob in and come away with food instantly, and there is usually a little queue in the shop. But it does mean that everything you get is fresh and piping hot, and still hot when you get it home. Helpings are easily enough sized, and quality is always good.

This review is for there chip van that parks up in Barnack on a Tuesday, All I can say it was absolutely disgusting all I could taste was oil the fish wasn't much thicker then a shoe insole, me and the Mrs just fanced fish and chips and what a disappointment, I can't get rid of the disgusting taste out of my mouth

So after having a poor experience last year with food, reading reviews thought why not give it another go and support the local business!! Visited last night for 2 x Beef & Onion pie and chips to be told, we know longer sell pies........ now the ironic part, the sign for the Fish & Chip shop is a PuKka Pie illuminated sign :-) :-) took my business elsewhere.

We use this fish and chip shop from time to time. This is not one of those places where you go in and buy fish or chips cooked earlier and left to deteriorate until you buy them. You order and it is cooked for you. That means that it is fresh and it is hot. Delicious.

Lovely fish and chips always cooked fresh to order. The staff are super and cannot do enough to be helpful. My husband is sad that the menu has been reduced and pies are no longer available.

I have visited this establishment a number of times, always receiving friendly and prompt service. The meal is cooked fresh and always lovely

Gorgeous Fish and chips! Even chips while you wait! We always try to come here. Our local and only problem is we have to limit ourselves.

Ordered large cod and regular chips. Cod was medium sized and covered in a thick soggy batter. Chips obviously reheated leftovers from lunch - overcooked with many tiny bits. Oil smelt rancid. Very poor overall and very expensive for quality and quantity. Far better alternatives in Bourne and well worth the extra 3 miles.

If you live in, or close to Morton, how lucky you are. A top notch fish and chip shop on your doorstep. We were just passing through the village but luckily stopped for lunch. Expansive menu and all our food was cooked to perfection, tasted so so good -thank you. Will definitely stop again when back in the area.

Since new people moved in Staff and customers are confused. The frying person speaks down to both staff and customers. Be prepared for a long wait. The batter is orangy and not very nice. Small portions more expensive than nearby town chippie. Shame as we have used this chippy for years but cant seem to cope with a family order.

Popped in and ordered various food for 29 people waiting at local church quiz. Sorted in 2 waves of calm cooking. Well done Darren!

This fish shop is a typical village fish shop no airs or graces but tasty food excellent service with generous portions. You would have to go a long way to find better.

Have never been disappointed by these guys, food always lovely and it's now 3 minutes till closing and they're still beavering away. Top notch!!! Cool Lancaster memorabilia too. And they're now serving someone who just came in 10 seconds before the door would be closed. Nothing further I can really add to that.

Estamos visitando la zona bourne durante unos 40 días. Así hemos estado en unas cuantas tiendas de pescado y patatas fritas en Lincolnshire. Sin duda, este es uno de los mejores. Cuando entras encontrará una tienda tan limpio que se piensa que están en la sala de emergencias de un hospital. El servicio es estupendo, pescado y patatas cocinados a la orden y un menú variado si no después de pescado y patatas fritas.

Diffenitly worth a try if passing. Fresh fish and lovely batter. Try the mushy peas too , think they are home made

This is a lovely little fish and ch0shop which produces great chips. They were heaving tonight and the chips suffered slightly but were still good

We have our Friday tea from here every week and the quality of the food is very good, better than a named chefs we tried on a recent visit to Cornwall! They do a small portion of fish and chips which is great for those of us with a small appetite.

Friendly faces, Great tasting lovely fish, great prices for the quality. Range of sizes from small, medium, large and even on a small its just enough.If you're nearby pop in, you wont be disappointed I'm sure.

After a hectic day moving into our new home in Rippingale all we wanted was a quick simple meal. It was excellent, just the right portion size and very friendly staff. We will visit again (again, and again ........ )

Trip advisor need to differentiate between take away and eat in establishments.This is a chippy, not a restaurant. A perfectly good chippy, but nowt special.

If you are in the Bourne area, then it is worth travelling the 3 miles north along the A15 to find this little gem. I stopped off last evening and ordered Haddock and Chips. The fish was cooked fresh to order, so a small wait is inevitable, this however, is easily passed, by looking at the memorabilia in the shop. The food when received was of a good quality and well cooked. You could quite easily miss this place but you won't be disappointed if you did call in.

We have been a couple times to Morton Village Fish and Chip shop food always excellent. You need to be patient if they are busy as it is cooked to order. Worth the wait.

I am new in England and fish and chips is new to me as well but, I love fish and chips already. We live locally and this is such a nice treat now and again. My daughter lives the fish cakes as well.

i am not local but pass most days,i regularly pop in for a bite to eat as you choose the size of meal you require it is ideal for a small eater like myself.as stated elswhere fish is freshly cooked to order but thre is a choice of pies and fiscakes ready to go

A small shop on the A15. Walk in and you get a friendly greeting - maybe a chat and some banter. Fish & chips are absolutely brilliant. Perfect chips and chunky fish with perfect batter. Not too much. Just an ideal and perfect amount. I live locally and it's the fish & chip shop of choice.

We were visiting relatives and popped in to take away our lunch on route.... These were the Best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter on the Cod was light and crispy with succulent flavour. The chips were gorgeous too. They cooked our order so they were so fresh and piping hot and they explained that we could telephone our order through for next time... (Such a shame we don't live closer, would make it a Friday night treat every week!) The two gentlemen who served me told me they were Father and son. Would definitely recommend as were not expensive either!

Freshly cooked to order, superb light batter, beautifully cooked every time. There will always be a short wait but so worth it and because it is cooked to order, it is always hot.

Very nice fish, they are very good on price and they do various size portions of fish as well as chips so you can get just the right amount that you can wish. Always been happy with the quality.
