food is tasteless and soggy. only thing making it a 3 star is the portion size. i ordered a medium fish and chips, i got way more than i bargained for.

Ideal quick tea between train transfers, good portion sizes and nicely done fish 🐟

I grew up in Grimsby. So I know good fish and chips. And this is simply the best. Absolutely perfect Grimsby Fish served in Grantham.

Food was ok oil could do with a change soon. Asked for gravy was sent curry sauce as they had run out of gravy.

Went in on 03/03 at 4:30 PM, not a single person was in. Waited for 10 minutes listening to the bell that’s supposed to alert personnel but nobody did answer… Would be understandable if the door would be shut but it wasn’t. Quite frustrating.

Actually piping hot and lovely crispy batter.

The fishcake, sausage and chips looked like they had been re-fried. The sausage was very oily. The fishcake was dry and coating had hardened.The chips were mottled and overcooked. My daughter ate only a little and I didn't eat anything. Very disappointing!

Family of 5 fed for under £50, with drinks. Fish was great, batter crispy and not greasy in the slightest. Owners friendly and polite. Service was spot on. All in all, absolutely no complaints!!

Walked in yesterday with my two little ones for a quick dinner, the guy behind the counter was an absolute gem, really friendly, accommodating and nice to chat with. Sausage and chips were great, chips were cooked to order and the home-made curry sauce was exceptional 🙂

Popped in wanting somewhere to sit in and eat. Food was all cooked fresh, really tasty. Service was great, super helpful. Kids cleared their plates. The curry sauce is fantastic and apparently homemade. Would come back.

My food was STONE cold! The chips must have been reheated, no way were they cooked fresh today. Fish and peas cold too The food was t even tepid but cold. I threw it in the bin. I noticed watching the driver on the tracking - think he got lost

These were by far the worst chips I've ever had. The only positive thing I can say is the lady that served me was polite. Not sure how many times they've cooked these or if the oils needs changing. Even my dogs turned their noses up at them

It took 2 hours to be delivered. No option to cancel so just had to wait for food that wasn’t even nice. Will not order from them again

Very generous portions and very tasty

driver can't do the simplest of tasks and read house numbers.. even when he called me and I told him were to go he ignored everything I said... so I had to come out to collect the food. which defeats the object of delivery then when final meet him after another 10mins and phone call later my food was cold.

substitution was OK but never delivered the curry sauce. no apology

Just been to neptune fish bar for the first time, very friendly staff we had fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly and the chips very good, worth every penny definitely will return

Was very surprised to read negative reviews as have been calling in to get my Fish, Chips & Mushy Peas on a Friday for a while now and always top notch, great food and people. Anyway, fancied a fish supper mid week, ordered my usual, all very tasty as usual, batter was light and tasty, fish fresh as were the chips, mushy peas warm, fish cakes - lovely. All I can say to those with a negative experience- please try again.

Best fish and chips ever tried! Great portion and taste. The cod was phenomenal.

Must be new recipe for the chips but they are great, sausages are good batted and normal, pies are a great deal with chips and a drink, can eat in so makes it different to many pick up only fish and chips you get table service proper cutlery and plates. Have been coming now for 4 years, great place to go and good value for money wait time was 20 plus minutes for a empty place on a Wednesday

I usually order from here and never had a bad experience but this evening (Friday) the quality of the fish was not great, the batter was soggy and the fish was mushy, not enjoyable at all. Most of the food went in the bin. Very disappointed 😞

Ordered 3 times at present first order poor spoke to them about it I was compensated for it next 2 orders exeptional, in every way portion size, cooked perfectly and good quality fish. I thought what I got for my money was fantastic value

Awful out of date food .. since looking at other peoples reviews noticed they have dealt with the same problems as we had, smelly, discoloured, greasy, soggy fish... chips arrived open as if someone had been eating them, the smell was that bad coming off the food we had to pick it all up and throw it all in the bin.. I was extremely embarrassed if I served anyone food like that, I would never leave my home again I'd be so embarrassed.... disgusted

Talk about losing your appetite. *fish soggy and discoloured looks days old and smells awful * chips arrived open as if someone had been eating them before they arrived * nuggets smell off . soggy and like the rest of the food extremely undercooked .. photos show what it looked like on arrival

Ordered on a Monday as our usual place (Wellies) was closed. The food was delivered late - but that can happen so that's fine. However, it was also lukewarm and dry. The fish was overcooked too. If that wasn't bad enough, we paid £3.25 for a bottle of vinegar and ordered Tartare sauce. What we got was a handful of vinegar sachets and Mayonnaise! I'm sorry but if you don't have what we ordered and paid for, I'd have expected a phone call ASKING us if we'd like a subsititute. If you don't know the difference between mayonnaise and tartare sauce you really shouldn't be doing this. Very poor service, poor food.

Very good chips hot, crispy and potatoey. Had a veggie sausage batterer which was very nice. Owner extremely friendly and enjoyed being there whilst waiting for food, I’ll definitely be back. Worked in chippys before and this is amazing.

I enjoyed every bite. Fish was fresh & crispy and for the chips really nice..crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. Delivery Guy nice and friendly :) will be ordering again 😇

Last time I visited, it wasn’t that good. But decided to just buy 3 puka pies this time around, thought what could go wrong as they only really have to heat them up. I’m going to avoid this place like the plague. Pie(s) x3 of different flavours were bad. It’s under new management so I have been told, they obviously have no idea. Pretty certain that they wasn’t cook fresh (one the same day) . If you don’t sell it within a certain time frame, please dispose of it and cook fresh. Has to be one of the worst experiences of a takeaway that I have had. NEVER GOING BACK, should have learnt from the last time.

great food, always a little sceptical when ordering fish and chips for delivery. however arrived piping hot and lovely fish. the delivery was slow, but that seems to be because of limited drivers.

Delivery was half an hour late. Kids were starving. Nobody answering the phone.

The delivery driver was nice and everything, but that doesn’t make up for the pisspoor quality of food, the fish was overfried and the chips were drier than the Sahara desert, and the curry sauce was cold, who wants cold curry? I only gave this place a try because my main chippy only delivers at 4pm (I ordered at 11:25 so it should all be fresh realistically) worst mistake of my life, don’t think I’ll give this place a try again.

Food arrived after 1 hr and 14 minutes items missing from the order although I checked and it also had it on the receipt

Desperately needed to feed hungry children on the way home. Staff couldn't have been more helpful making a big table for us all to sit together and accommodating all our requests. Food is all cooked fresh and is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the chips were divine. A true five-star meal! Large meal was enough for two person easily.

This place is better than Harry Ramsdens Always a warm welcome and friendly, efficient service. Fish and chips cooked to perfection.

Great chips as always, fish was nice too! Some sort of indication on the boxes would have been useful though, H for haddock for example, but we figured it out.

The chips were a bit old (I placed my order quite late) but this fish was excelent.

We were greeted warmly despite being late on a Saturday night. Our fish and chips was freshly cooked and looked delicious when delivered to our table. It proved to be as tasty as it looked. Despite being on his own, the chef and manager looked after us very well and ensured we enjoyed our meal. Thank you! We understand he has plans to improve the decor and the atmosphere of the restaurant. That will certainly add the finishing touch.

First time getting food from here since its been taken over. The owners are lovely and friendly. The food was cooked to order, the large cod is large and easily fed 2 of us. All the food was delicious, thank you. Will definitely be back.

Had a very poor meal there last night. Waited 30 mins although shop was practically empty. We ordered cod & chips. Peas & curry sauce. Fish was over cooked & still had skin on which I hate. Curry & peas we had to take back as they were cold. Lady told us she had plated them up too early! When I mentioned the fact that the fish had skin on she told me sorry & that it was haddock & not cod!! It was not a good experience & we will not be back. Young girl who took our order was lovely but dressed in pyjamas & slippers - maybe not a great vibe.

My first time using this app and this restaurant. The delivery time was much later than requested and the wrong children’s meal was sent. As a positive, the fish was delicious from here.

On the way to skegvegas our holiday starts at this chippy, even our kids opt to eat here instead of Maccy D's, this should tell you something!... Have to wait but worth it, batter crispy, amazing chips n curry sauce, and use their own secret recipe vinegar. Friendly family run business. Congrats on 11+ results family.

The owner asked me to let him know how the food was, well it was tasty! Nice chips, fish was fresh and the curry sauce is a cut above! Well done, especially as everything was cooked fresh to order (maybe because it was Sunday evening). Will come back.

Unacceptable delivery service. Order placed at 13:20 and arrived at 14:40 this was due to not have a delivery driver on hand and having to wait for a JustEat driver to be assigned to the order. Should not advertise as a delivery service if you do not have an in-house delivery driver. Was unable to collect order from store without cancelling justeat order and was unable to cancel justeat order. Waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes for a bag of chips is not acceptable. Disappointing will not be ordering delivery from here again.

Tried these when got fed up of pale undercooked chips from my regular chippy. These are now my go-to, chips are always a nice dark golden colour, the curry sauce is nice and fruity, mushy peas are not as watery as others. The fish, wow the fish, the large haddock had to be folded to get it in the box. If you haven't yet, try them , you'll be glad you did

Amazing food. Ordered for 6 of us. Chips were the best we’ve had in a long time. All freshly cooked and while we were waiting were given complimentary chips and some curry sauce. Shame we live down south ( knocks spots of our local chippy) and only up this way a few times a year. Will definitely return.

Ordered a normal portion of chips from here, the portion size we ordered was smaller than we expected, it was only enough to feed say 1.5 people when there was 3 adults sharing between.

Dropped in on Sunday at 2pm and the new owner was alone but still engaged with us and got our orders in good time, freshly cooked. Our 7 year old asked for the recipe to the homemade curry sauce and loved his cod and chips.

Burger not cooked, may aswell still been eating grass in the field, serving food like that could make people really ill and all they can do is say "we will make again" what makes them think we want it again, I want money back and I'm going else where

Waited two hours for our meal, the vegan chicken burger turned out to be just a veggie burger so if ur vegan be aware. This is the second time we have had to wait over two hours so definitely not going there again

Generous portions. Piping hot. And the chips were a lovely dark colour, much better than the anaemic looking ones from other chippy's! Would order again, and hope it's as good the second time 👍
