Morrison's Store Cafe in Blaenau Gwent

Had a big breakfast 2 for 12 pounds couldnt eat it sausage black and warmed up mushrooms awful everything was cold .i complained and did have my money bk wont be going there again

Food absolutely not edible wouldn't feed it to my dog. There at 9 this morning and it looked and tasted like yesterday's food cold and couldn't cut half of it with the knife that bad staff not interested or helpful 1 little bit

Gave up eating food here a long time ago because it was so bad but even the hot drinks are as bad now. Won't be back. I remember a time when good food was available here

Had a large breakfast, Bacon very dry, sausage very dry on outside, fried egg hard yolk, fried bread rock hard, black pudding very dry, beans nice, chips nice hash browns dry and overcooked. Had to ask for toast again.(happened last time we ate there)

Absolutely amazing! We stopped here for brunch to start our day out for my dad's 70th birthday. We were a group of 9 (including 3 small children). The staff went above and beyond to help us. They set up a large table in the area near the children's book area and were extremely helpful in taking our order (as we have a few family members with dietary requirements). We were absolutely amazed when staff members came over with a bottle of prosecco and a chocolate cake and singing 'happy birthday' to my dad. We specifically want to mention Brady (I think I've spelt that right, sorry if I haven't), a very lovely Irish lady who was just fantastic. A wonderful start to the day. Thank you Morrisons.

Sorry but buckets everywhere !?put me off eating so grabbed a drink the milkshake was awful had to leave it.There were no tissues just one member of staff who looked overworked poor lady.. this was an awful experience!

Excellent full breakfast plus toast and butter, all hot plus a beef cooked dinner that was more than adequate (bit mean on the potatoes) Two teas, two meals £18.05 and a damn sight better than the Abergavenny offering

Just return from a crap Lunch , selection was first class , but the service & quality of food was POOR. One star is one star too many. After a long wait the food arrived, my wife's cold poached eggs on 2 slices of cold toast. I ordered battered sausages , mushy peas & chips. The quality of sausages were poor , poor quality peas (not mushy), & cold chips. As I have already said not worth 1 star , minus 10 would have been too many.

The staff are always very friendly BUT there are never enough of them meaning a long wait by the till unless you shout for help. Biggest bug bear of this place... The food ALWAYS seems to be like warm..not hot. That's needs to be sorted.

Incredibly slow and wasn't even busy. Tables not wiped down ? Food was poor..I think a 2 year old could have presented better. Only saw 3 staff perhaps over worked? Could DO BETTER.

Ordered 2 small breakfasts at 9am, one arrived at 9.30 the second 9.45!! Considering the cafe was not busy service was very slow!! The food was terrible, poached egg u could have bounced off the floor!! Food sent bk and refund given. Avoid!!

Terrible cafe, the food tastes like it's been hanging around for hours, been to other Morrison's cafés and have been ok but this place sucks. Sack the manager and re-train the staff, awful.

Omg why has this shop always got empty shelves and we can't get half of the items we need, you need to pull your socks up morrisons. Plus you need a northface to shop its always so cold. It puts people off shopping here

Went to Ebbw Vale this morning for a takeaway breakfast. Lovely lady served us and gave us our breakfast in a box with a tub of beans on top. We got to the car and only a plastic fork in there, not a knife and no serviettes!! So we got grease all over our clothes! But the breakfast was good and tasty!

I called in here for a quick snack with 3 friends. The ordering system left a lot to be desired. When I got yo the till I ordered my drink and tried to order a sausage bap having seen a container with at least 12 sausages on a ahot plate at the back. I was told I couldn't order this as the brakfast service finished about 30 minutes earlier. So instead I ordered a ham and cheese toastie. We all went to the table allocated. A shor while lattle 2 of my friends received their meal which was a brunch and which contained 2 sausages each. I queried when my toastie was and was told that she would have to make another one. It finally arrived as my friend were finishing thir food but with no cutlery to eat the salad. This took some 5 to 10 minutes later to arrive and by this time the toastie tasted terrible as it was cold. As a resul of this I doubt very much if I would use this establishment again.

Ordered 2 breakfasts for myself and my Granddaughter and my Grandson an itemised meal of 4 items for children. The poached egg was so small and hard you could have bounced it off the floor and all the rest of the items were so hard and overcooked. They even brought my Grandson beans instead of hash browns! Never had such a bad breakfast at any Morrisons cafe.

I've eaten at another Morrisons before which was fine. However here the chips were overcooked, chicken pie bland & peas dry. The person I was with had to leave most of her fish batter too. Not worth the money, wouldn't eat there again

I used to eat in Morrison's ebervale store cafe most days about 4.30 and have a choice of mainmeals.lately you ask for something soory All gone all that's left is meals other people don't want.Now it's open till 9pm wats going on don't Thy want customer's after 3pm.I only go there once a week now.untill it changes back like it used to be!

We went there as a family, we ordered our food and got our drinks, there were a few meals they had run out off, but when we had our food the portions were good for the price, and it was hot. Just meet to make sure knives and forks are clean. There is good access for disabled, and parking is available outside, toilets are located towards shop entrance. There are a range of seats, while there an elderly lady moved seats about so her and her husband could sit in padded seats because the non-padded hurt her legs. The restaurant was clean considering how many go through the restaurant.

Never enough staff in the cafe ,have to Wait until they take meals out ,the coffee mugs are not cleaned properly they are stained brown , the staff told me they don’t have enough time to clean them properly. They always apologise for you having to wait . The coffee from the machine is often cold. I have now stopped going to the cafe ,I have told the store many time but it last for a few weeks then it’s back to where it started ,get more staff and do job properly

We do our shopping in the store every week, and always used to enjoy a snack or meal there, but the cafe is now understaffed the food takes an age to arrive. Average waiting time after ordering, is 30/40mins

Just dropped in for a light lunch. Boy on till left to do other jobs, so queue formed. Another person came eventually. No milk (only in jug) very short on sauces etc., very stained cups and the smallest portion of chips we had ever seen. Who is meant to supervise these cafes, as we have had very bad experiences in both the Newport and Cwmbran stores (who were operating a limited menu for several days). These cafes use to be good, and good value but not now. They seem very short on staff and supervision. Only good one this year at Risca.

Visited Morrisons for breakfast in Ebbw Vale. Staff were helpful and the coffee was lovely. Food was hit and would go back

Come here regularly when out shopping,the food is lovely plenty of room to sit also has tables especially for the disabled aswell,service good and good prices too

Lunch every week always something wrong..... Either no serviettes or coffee machine not working or no tea bags no sandwiches always no full menu as never proper delivery. Belle Vale you need to get your act together on the cafe as it gets plenty of custom but not giving 100% service. Poor management in not putting orders in regular.

Worse coffee we have ever drunk will never try it again!!!! Foul taste in my mouth for ages had to eat some sweets to take horrid taste away

Called hear today for breakfast and found out that the menu has changed ... bring back the old menu as the way breakfast is served now is terrible.

It’s only an in store cafe but it to a very good standard. We have never been disappointed. You can’t complain about the prices, go into town and you will pay £3 more per couple for a drink and cake.

As I have recently had a stroke and have been left partially sighted ,my wife and myself use our bus passes to visit the so many beautiful places in Wales,yesterday we visited Brecon in Powys and had lunch in Morrisons store café exellant fish and chips good coffee ,polite service and very reasonable prices we would definatly dine here again

Came here at 12 o'clock for a snack and a brew, store not too busy - we were told a half hour wait for food and no coffee. We left, what a waste of time.

I used to love to come to Morrisons to get a "meat free breakfast". My dad told me he had stopped coming as the quality of the food had gone downhill and it was not value for money anymore. Anyway, he gave in and took us one day for breakfast.

Went to Abergavenny this morning to pick up our dog food from raw 2 go and called into morrisons on the way home, primarily for a drink but, looked at the menu and decided to have lunch, both of us had jacket potato I had beans and coleslaw with a side salad, missus had cheese and coleslaw with side salad, service was quick, place was clean and tidy, food was superb, well presented and very tasty, jacket spud was genuine oven cooked, not the microwave kind and very nicely done, lovely crispy skin and fluffy inside, very good choice of menu, even a 3 course (small plate) meal deal for 6 quid. Very reasonable prices too.

When the food turns up it's nice - but don't go when it's busy, it's understaffed. 40 minutes for a small breakfast to appear is ludicrous. Not doing that again !

As a treat to my son, we stop for a cake and a drink after shopping. On the last two occasions we were given dirty cups, the cakes must have been sitting out all day they where dry and stale, I ordered a panini it took 20 minutes to be heated up and brought to my table, it was rock solid. I took it back and asked for a fresh one, 30 minutes later still no panini, my two year old bored. I cancelled the order and had my money back. I didn't have a apology just a sigh from the woman who had served me.. I will not be coming again...

My friend and I had very good meals at Morrison's the staff are excellent and we had fast service although it was a very busy period. Couldn't have been more pleased, thanks to all concerned.

No sé qué método usar cuando morrison asignar personal, pero obviamente dieron los números equivocados. Espera 30 minutos para un desayuno sencillo no es realmente lo que cabría esperar, ya que no es realmente barato. Cuando el desayuno no llega uno faltaba una salchicha y la otra era que faltaba la patata. Nunca he sido buena en el escondite, así que no nos molestamos en intentar encontrar un miembro del personal. Pero la falta de personal realmente mostrar, mesas son grasientos y tienen marcas en ellos. También es impredecible y cubiertos del SIG, es difícil culpar a nadie cuando hay tan pocos para tratar con los clientes.

Fuimos para el desayuno, me pareció bastante caro. No Frijoles heinz. Mesas - mínimo personal parecía sucio en el piso, nunca ver ellos limpiando las mesas. Dudo si me volvería a comer allí de nuevo por el coste y la limpieza

Me, my wife and my two children visited the café on Saturday 29th October around 2pm. Service was slow at the till, we only had 2 coffees, two cold drinks and cakes. The sat right at the top of the café, great for the children to enjoy the play area. We realised as the time went by people where leaving and tables weren't cleared. We left after 45 minutes and still tables where piling up, customers were clearing they'd own table in order to sit down. A complete disappointment and the floor not cleared promptly is waiting for an accident to happen. Hope more staff is allocated in the busy periods of the day and the week, especially half term. Newly refurbished café very clean with a great choice of food from snacks to full meals. Plenty of different beverages from fruit juice to coffee all at reasonable prices. Got a Defence Discount Card yes they do accept it offering 10% off your total bill. A good restaurant with great food and plenty of choice.

Stayed nearby for 3 days.No hesitation in going to Morrisons supermarket for breakfast.We know that the establishment is going to be clean,food served a good standard & the staff are always friendly &helpful.No disappointments here.Not only that ,but EXCELLENT VALUE/

The fish are massive, you come out of there feeling really full. You also have the Morrison's shop attached.

I visit The Morrisons most weeks and regularly enjoy a great breakfast prior to doing my weekly shopping.

Of course its just a general Morrison cafe Restaurant or is it. Been using Morrisons since I first discovered then in the Lake District many years ago before the southerners like myself has heard of them. We were overwhelmed at the time, restaurants the best I had ever encountered in a supermarket. From this point onwards we always looked for a Morrison. So today Morrison's have gone through various changes but still managed to provide good value. My experience here today was a helpful smile and comments at the Till, Tables were clean and constantly being cleared. Good quality food at a very affordable price. Needless to say we were here to do a usual shop well. I always enjoy the shipping experience at a Morrison's. We now use Morrison's where available off the motorways when traveling long distance. At the end of the weekly shop what better way to finish up with a satisfying meal or just a beverage in the café/restaurant ,always good value and friendly faces , clean and quick with serving , been there loads of times and never a foot wrong . Excellent 10/10

nice and clean shop, and then go in there newly refurbished cafe for a nice cake and a pot of tea, great service, good prices.

Went to this in store cafe after I had purchased some shopping. On entering the the cafe I choose my meal of fish and chips and waited for it to turn up.When it arrived the chips were encrusted with beetle like objects which had leg like tenticles on the underside.So I brought to the attention of the manager who thought it was a joke and states that it would have made him I'll if he had eaten it but that I should not have have wasted his time with such a trival matter. I found that insulting to say the least. I later contacted Morrisons head office and was flabbergasted by what they said as it was as if trading standards would have also brushed it to one side in favour of Morrisons. Won't be venturing into this shop in the future as it appears that they really don't care about what they hand out to the general public as long as it's not to themselves.

Called in for breakfast the other day, good service and the breakfast was good. Cafe now has new furniture and as been recently inproved the surroundiings, good place for sa coffee before or adfter shopping

The fish and chips is really nice here with a decent portion of fish in a nice crispy batter. The breakfast is also really good and everything is fresh. Good value for money.

After the recent revamp of the restaurant layout the cafe seems smaller lighter and a little childish to say the least. Not my type of thing anymore.

It's just a super market restaurant,so don't expect 5 star service or food, that has just been refurbished. Well what a great job Morrison's have done of it. Clean modern lines, fabulous fixtures and fitting. Cottage style table and chairs, what a great job...Food his good value for money and to a good standard. Waiting time for food has never been a problem,which have been suggested in other reviews, it is not the norm, all places have problems of some type at any time. We have mostly had breakfast before going to work, and have had the odd Sunday lunch. We have never had any problem with, the service, staff or with the food. It's a very good super store restaurant, with a bit of style. Well done Morrison's and that's coming for a Tesco prefer shopper.. Mike

How long does it take, to produce a breakfast, with a high tec kitchen, 28 mins, not on. I myself would rather a closed café, than have bad service. Just open for coffee tea and toast.

We have had quite a few breakfast's from there, it's ok if you want a plate full of oil and fatty foods. Service is ok food served quite fast. I don't tend to eat there a lot, prices are not bad

Very disorganised they day we visited. Customers were complaining that chocolate was coming out of the machine as hot milk and lemonade as sparkling water. Had to wait ages for cups to come out of the dishwasher (the one on offer was dirty). My sandwich was ok, nothing more. Seemed very short of staff. Uninspiring at best.

We've often stopped here for a quick lunch but of late the quality of the food has been poor, the cutlery not clean and the service at best mediocre. This is Disappointing as it was always very good and value for money.

What can I say, it is just a super market store cafe. Do not expecting "A star" food and service, you would expect from a restaurant. But it is very good value, and the staff great.The Big breakfast, Sunday lunch, (Chicken or Beef), Fish and Chip is for no money. And kids can eat free when with and adult mid week.Quick, simple,and good value. If you are after 5star for less than £5, it will not be for you. If you are after nice food for good value, then give it a try next time you are shopping...,,Mike

Many new stores have opened up, especially the Swindon store in Eldene. This Ebbw Vale café is a proper store café. Good food, service and just nice. The new store as per mentioned, needs to learn from the older stores!

We have been to this cafe numerous times and it's strange on occasions when certain staff are in charge the food and wait times are not acceptable. After waiting nearly half an hour for our order, the food arrived and looked quite nice, until we took a mouthful and at the centre of the dish it was freezing cold. This is totally unacceptable and is it too much to ask for the chef or cook to use the provided equipment to check the meal for the appropriate level of heat. I told one of the staff of this issue and said I wanted to change my order and to ensure that the next meal'should be cooked correctly. Fortunately the second choice we made was cooked ok. Not once did a member of staff ask us if everything was ok or did we want a refund. The cafe was not even busy. So we just ate our meals and left. I had to make this review because there is nothing I hate more is having a bad meal and paying good money, I would rather give the money away. The people in charge of this cafe needs to ensure that all staff should be trained to an acceptable level to ensure customers have what they pay for.

Cant beat the cooked breakfast, yes you do have to wait a while but I think that's because most things are cooked from chilled.

Everything is cooked fresh and is really tasty. The service is excellent and there is a wide choice of food to suit all tastes. There are special deals for families with children at all times and at other times there are special offers - all at very reasonable prices

When shopping there was a time when you would have to queue for your meals .Not anymore staff has been drastically cut and the food is not the same again a disappointing meal. Cutbacks are inevitably but shame about quality...

Usually OK but the last couple of times I've tried to buy something from the menu not available. Oh yes when will they undrstandcthatvif you buy tea or coffee it would be good to have the meal at the same time.

I will never eat at Morrison's again. No long winded story, I was half way through my sandwiches when I found a live slug crawling out of one of the sandwiches on my plate. I complained to the manager of the store, I asked him how could it be that I could find a slug in my sandwich, in a matter of fact tone he told me, the reason was that I had lettuce in my sandwich, I was appalled its just not good enough Morrison's!!! it made me physically and if they didn't take my complaint serious enough which I think that they did then beware when you eat your next sandwich at Morrison's you might just get a hidden extra or half of one.

This place is just over a mile from my home (It’s not a bad walk actually…though access, to the store grounds, could be more pedestrian friendly). The food is so good and such amazing value, that sometimes it can be easier than cooking yourself. If I am calling into Morrison’s, for shopping, I will usually take the opportunity to get a hot meal there. At the moment, their “Breakfast” is flavour of the month for me but their fish and chips is superb, as is the chunky steak pie.There is a good choice of food, the service is efficient and the staff helpful. I like a pot of tea with my food and the tea is self service (Pot with a teabag, to which you add hot water from a machine). I take a pot and pay for it but leave getting the hot water, until the food arrives.Located within easy reach, from the A465 road and alongside the A4047 (Near the junction with the A4046), this place is convenient for people passing through the area, who are in need of refreshment.
