We stopped here for a cooked lunch and were very glad we did! It might not look stunning from the street view but please don’t be fooled - best homemade pie ever! Lovely staff, very friendly. Dog friendly pub (they even gave our woofer some dog biscuits). All the food that passed by our table looked amazing. Would thoroughly recommend calling by for something to eat, you won’t be disappointed. I’d recommend the chicken, asparagus and wild mushroom pie.

Called in for Sunday Lunch with my 94; year old mother. It was a carvery type lunch with a choice of beef or pork. Quite a large choice of vegetables and delicious gravy. Everything was excellent, food, service atmosphere. So good we booked to go the following week.

We were on holiday in Devon and came across The Prince of Wales pub in Princetown. Nice attitude when I ordered a couple of drinks. We saw a couple of blokes eating and "bigging up" the food which looked really good. We decided to eat there and ordered Hunters chicken and a homemade beef pie. One word describes it all SUPERB. I've never had such a wonderful, homemade pie. Completely stuffed full with meat and the gravy was to die for. As for the Hunters chicken, my wife thought it was brilliant. Thank you very much to ALL the staff for an excellent time. Miss this place at your peril !!!!!

My welsh steak & chips sizzler was beautifully cooked to my liking & delicious. Cheap too! Served in a busy olde worlde bar decorated with local photographs & mining paraphenalia.

The night time meal was very good then for breakfast I had a full english breakfast which came with 1 egg 2 rashers bacon, 2 sausages 1 can tomato, mushrooms, baked beans and toast. You can have a pick of cereal and orange juice and tea or coffee. A great start to a day.

I called in on the spur of the moment with my son, we were the only people there at lunchtime on a Monday. The main attraction of the pub, are the numerous photos and memorabilia of the past mining history. Our meals were well cooked and good value, though basic pub fare. I wouldn't particularly have chosen this place but few places serve food at lunchtime on Mondays. It is worth a visit just to see the various items collected over many years.

The title says it all! The outside of the place is nothing special but walk inside. The menu was varied and different. I had 3 courses of amazing food followed by a great conversation and laugh with the owners, all in front of a roaring fire in a quaint country pub. Need I say anymore.

What a nightmare. Phoned to book so they knew we was coming. No roasters 1 Yorkshire pudding, scoop of mash at bottom of pan, no pigs in blankets left no stuffing, plenty of peas, carrots and broccoli. Asked if they had any more was told no. Bit expensive 66 pounds for the eight of us kids pay the same price.

Good choice available, good portion size and quality. On site parking, bit off the beaten track but that adds to it's charm

Al principio, cuando llegué al pub, que era de verdad no adivinan deseando volver. No hay zona de registro y así que tienes que ir al bar y explicar que estás allí. El bar estaba muy anticuada y me daba miedo que la habitación iba a ser el mismo.

My friends and I were looking for a reasonably priced steak and I suggested Prince of Wales because I'd eaten here years ago and enjoyed it. There's a lovely atmosphere as you walk in-dimly lit with a coal fire in the middle of the room. Warm and cosy on a cold night! It was empty when we arrived, expecting it to stay quiet as it was a Monday night. But by the time we had eaten our meals, the place was full and the organist was setting up! Whoever fancied singing a song was getting up and being in our twenties we were surprised at how much we enjoyed ourselves. They were obviously all regulars and they welcomed us like one of their own, The meals are all homemade by a lovely elderly gentleman and we all enjoyed the meals, but more so the people we encountered. Will definitely go back to see our friends :)

This restaurant/pub is exceptional because you are in a family. The landlord and landlady are so friendly and give you such a warm welcome without being intrusive, that you feel at home immediately. The food is cooked to a high standard, and that includes the curries and the traditional British Sunday roasts. Give it a try if you are in the area. The food is very good value for money!

Popped in midweek during a trip around Dartmoor. Excellent beers - Jail Ale is just superb -and the place was fantastically decorated for Halloween. Didn't try any food, but the place looks geared up for catering for large numbers.

I have never been spoken to by anyone before like the barman spoke to me today. I ordered a pint of Jail Ale and a coffee, and was then asked if someone had put the "Cafe sign up outside" (because I had asked for a coffee). When I asked what he was talking about, he said "We have a weird sense of humour in Princetown" We had arranged to SIX other friends here, so I wrang them and arranged to meet them at the "Plume of Feathers". DON'T BOTHER TO GO TO THIS PUB"

We visited on a Monday lunchtime in March, with a relative who lives locally. You pay for what you get here; its a family owned pub with a restaurant so the interior is quite dated but that doesn't matter when the food is good value, well cooked and generous portion sizes.

Google and signs on the outside said "Open 7 days a week" but it was closed mid afternoon on a Sunday. Wouldn't have set out walking if we'd known it would be closed

We organized a family birthday meal here for 14 people adults aswell as children. All meals were lovely except for the lamb burger it was awful very dry and not as expected. However given the fact it's suppose to be a family friendly pub/restaurant this was very much to our disappointment it attracts the rowdy loud youngsters who were screaming and shouting it wasn't a peaceful place where you could sit enjoy your meal and talk amongst your group every adult had a headache within 1 hour of being there. One of our family members was shouted at by a youngster and was offered outside because he stated whilst stood at the bar that it's loud and how it's supposed to be a family friendly environment. We definitely wouldn't recommend this place with children. Other than the lamb burger all other food was lovely a good selection of drinks but 100% not a family environment and definitely not a quiet environment if you wanted to enjoy your meal and talk amongst your group!
