2:30pm on a Tuesday, I ordered my favourite, half chicken with chips meal, lady at cash desk went to kitchen to check and came back with the bad news, they were out of stock. Out of stock! It's a large supermarket with hundreds of fresh chickens for sale, it even sells hot roast chickens freshly roasted, couldn't they get one of them. Come on Morrisons get your act together. On a plus note the cafe looked clean and tidy and the toilet was ok.

One of the better Morrisons Cafe's. Visited on a busy Saturday lunch time when there were very few vacant seats. Lunch was served quickly and tasted good. Seemed that it was a well run cafe.

Wow how rude can you be ? Understaffed as always avoided eye contact for 5 mins as a way of avoiding taking the order. Sandwiches horrible bread wet inside packet prawns tough then breakfast arrived staff member just stood there with tray so I offered to lift it off and really burnt my hand . Why not just say plate is hot ? Stalked off like we had done something wrong . Won't be coming again and frankly won't be shopping with you either . Give you heads a shake !

Had such a lovely avo and poached egg on sour dough toast at Guisborough Morrisons… was hoping Malton would be the same but sadly not. Avocado was a paste and bitter, mixed with lemon we think. White toaster toast. Egg runny was the positive

3 times now we have visited Malton Morrisons for afternoon tea (afternoon tea for2) at around 2pm on a Sunday and 3 times we have been told it's not available. No explanation why ,it's a supermarket they sell food so surely it's not out of stock so we have to assume they can't be bothered after all afternoon tea is what it says afternoon tea so why at 2pm is it unavailable

Popped in for a quick cake & a snack with my children after swimming. A lot of things weren't working / not available but the staff were incredible. All trying very hard despite things happening out of their control. Lots of smiles and very helpful- even towards the people who weren't very understanding. 5 stars purely for the staff alone.

We visited the cafe at Scarborough Saturday afternoon and can hardly think of one positive. Fruit juice machine not working. Milk shake machine not working . Not a grain of salt in the place. Disinterested staff. Although very quiet took 42 minutes for food to arrive. Mash was cold. Food looked totally unappetising mushy peas looked like they had been scooped off floor. The only good thing was the soup was hot.

My wife and I were visiting Malton on our first trip away since lockdown and were looking forward to the usual good value breakfast at Morrisons. Good Covid measures seemed to be in place but there was nobody to explain the system in place at the cafe. We obviously waited in the wrong place as we were comletely ignored by the staff for 10 minutes untill a very unpleasant woman bellowed at us in a high pitched sqeal, 'stand over there and dont touch anything' while waveing her arms about in a frantic way. We turned on our heels and went and found a lovely little cafe (Hidden Monkey). While I realise this is a stressfull time for every body being rude and unpleasant to customers isnt helping anyone. I would avoid and go and try one of the many little cafes that the lovely town of Malton has to offer.

My first visit after reopening after lock down, new slimed down menu. Breakfast now only served till 12, apart from Sunday, I had fish and chips, peas and tea for 6 pounds, nice and hot, no complaints.

My friend and I went here for a quick lunch before we went to the cinema. We shared a prawn sandwich on brown bread with plain crisps. We followed this with a cake each and a pot of tea and a pot of hot water as we both prefer weak tea. The food was lovely and we were served by a friendly helpful member of staff on the till. The restaurant was clean and tidy with clear tables. Would definitely go again when in Malton. Good value too.

After enjoying my recent breakfast in the cafe I decided to purchase some doughnuts in a pack of 5. Dinnertime came and I thought great will try one of them doughnuts but just as I was about to open them I noticed 3 flies flying around inside. I checked if it was sealed properly still and it was so they must have got in there before packing.... I thought I would take them back but lost receipt ! Shocking standards Morrisons...

Lovely lunch but never have any desserts I ordered one then they didn’t have it so I ordered another and paid for it then he came over 10 mins later and told me they had none. Bit stupid really considering all the food they use is from the shop which is approximately 2 steps away from them.

Went to Morrisons cafe this morning for a light breakfast with a business colleague. What a dreadful mistake! The one female member of staff and one male member of staff were rude, incapable of providing a service and could not make a decision between them. The 'things' and I use the term loosely, we ate and drank were not good. But overall it was the staffs attitude and behaviour. I strongly recommend you avoid the Morrisons cafe in Morrisons as it is truly dreadful!

Arrived here just after 8am saturday 18 may.cafe had just opened.I ordered breakfast wife ordered beans on toast my meal came promptly but it was not even luke warm especially the bacon so i put my meal in the microwave my wifes meal was wrong so had to go back the waitress asked my wife what was wrong she said my meal was cold she said it shouldnt be because it had just been cooked well it was cooked but only just but then brought under the hot lights to cool down even after 2 or 3 minutes in the microwave it still wasnt hot enough.If you go into a cafe your food should be piping hot not cold.I dont blame the staff in any way because they have to work to a certain system but that system is clearly not working.If there had been no microwave my food would have gone back.The staff are lovely and friendly but due to cold food as soon as you have opened is no way to runny a busy cafe.I will use the station cafe in future

Good value meal with the "Kids eat free" offer, so on that score we have no complaints other than the side order of Onion Rings looked like they had been fried the day before and reheated, the cafe was well presented and clean and the staff were very friendly, however, this is yet another Morrisons cafe we have eaten at that did not have any Mushy Peas to go with the Fish'n'chips meal. (It has happened at Redcar, Ripon and Boroughbridge to name three) There are shelves full of them in the supermarket, whats up with you Morrisons and your management of the cafe's, a cafe in a large supermarket should never really run out of food!! get your act or ordering of food stuffs better, it's not that hard a task with good management. Apparently I was told, they are not allowed to use food from within the store, it has to be supplied externally from another supplier, HOW DAFT IS THAT. get your act together.

Great cafe. Good selection of food. High chairs available for babies. It's also possible to extend your car parking time if needed.

Regular visitors to Morrison's Cafe in Malton, there is always a good selection of food. The breakfasts range between average and excellent, depending on the day of the week and time of day and it is easy to vary the items on the menu. Staff members are often under pressure but food always arrives with a smile!

You get what you pay for however its very tasty and you can amend your meal to your liking..hard working staff under difficult staffing issues at times

Five of us had an early evening meal on a Friday. Food served quite quickly, quality and quantity was good and service fine. Ideal for us as we were going out in the evening and needed a value for money meal quickly.

Visited this cafe when accompanying student granddaughter when she was shopping. The choice of meals was very good and the prices were very reasonable. Despite being busy the meals arrived as promised within 15 minutes. They were hot, tasty and as advertised. Certainly value for money.

Whenever I go up north to watch cricket at Chester le Street or watching racing at Catterick or Sedgfield I always call in at the Morrison’s at Boroughbridge, it is a welcome sight after the traffic of Leeds, a nice hot breakfast and a read of the morning papers, pick up some fruit and sandwiches for later on and then back to the car, the quality is a given.

They sell fish and chips but when I got there, they had no vinegar!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't come here for fish and chips or anything else as there's no vinegar!!

Visited Malton whilst assessing areas in Yorkshire to move to nearer work.

Attended the cafe area with a client and we ordered a cup of tea and bacon roll. The bacon roll was cold, a waste of money and when delivered to our table was literally thrown down so the plate was spinning. It was comical and we saw the funny side, but we'll not be returning!

We wouldn't normally be tempted to use a supermarket cafe not generally very appetising where we live down south (where parents seem to take there kids to smack them) but this one looked very inviting. Sandwiches fresh portion of chips cooked to order as were all the meals from the extensive menu. Excellent service excellent value.

A nice supermarket cafeteria as we use to call them....Light , clean and good food. Some nice armchairs to enjoy your coffee while reading the Sunday Telegraph.....

The breakfast was not particularly good, the milk for my cup of tea was not real milk and the restaurant was noisy and not at all pleasant. It can be convenient if there's nowhere more suitable nearby, but for me it's a last resort!

The service was a little slow but when lunch arrived it was hot and well cooked. Very cheap and good size portions too.

We called into Morrisons Cafe at Malton for breakfast at about 9.15 pm. We ordered, sat down at a clean table and about ten minutes later the food arrived piping hot, beautifully presented and we had service with a smile! It was just what we needed and was incredibly reasonably priced. We would certainly call here again if we are passing. Recommended.

I picked up a hot chocolate to take away after doing my shopping. The service was good and the hot chocolate was well priced and also tasted good.

the fish and chips are awesome nice big fish and mushys , staff was very good and very helpful also good range for children and if you go there after 4pm and you buy an adult meal the childs meal is free.

Breakfast stop not busy but many full tables of used pots. Long wait in queue to get served even though not many in reality. Long wait for food 30 Mins! Staff not very helpful (and I am being nice here ) go to Yorkshire tea rooms over the road (many good reviews)

It is a supermarket cafe but the food is of a good standard and prices are fair. Very popular with shoppers.

Arrived with a question of people service very slow and when final served was told it will be a hours wait on a bowl of chips!!!!! Get a grip morrisons

Went into café to have a late breakfast at 10.45am,the café was quite full.Got myself a latte and ordered a little breakfast only to be told it was a 45 minute wait.Told the cashier that Id just have the coffee in the end as I hadn't got time to wait.This is not the first time this has happened,it appears that the café is almost certainly understaffed.

As a regular visitor have always found staff welcoming and friendly food always served in time specified by cashier you would not expect the meals to be huge by the price but reasonable best supermarket food by far always hot except on one occasion jacket potato was cold sent back and replaced with an apology on busy times tables may have left overs on but quickly cleaned up staff seemed to be thin on the ground sometimes but always do their best

My son and I recently enjoyed a couple of quick tea's here, as you are able to get a kids meal free. I had scampi and chips and my son spaghetti bolognese with drink a bag of fruit for my son and and ice cream sundae for £5.50, bargain and tasty.

There can be a wait at peak times. It's cafeteria stile dining so nothing by way of ambience. Best description is cheap and cheerful.

After recent probs a new hot drinks machine has improved things greatly. A well warned of wait for hot food due to being busy enabled us to relax with a drink..and food came within time promised. Hot and tasty. Staff very courteous. Even suggested we get a free second drink for waiting...wow. Appreciate some young children may find wait a bit difficult..but the adults were prewarned!!..so their choice to stay!!!..and order the hot food rather than deciding on alternatives!!!..some people are so inflexible....staff can only do their best!!!..sorry should they have magic wands too???

I was in the store on Sunday for lunch with my sister and my son who is 22 months old, I ordered a child’s Spaghetti Bolognese and after 25 minutes I had to go and ask where it was, because my Son was hungry and getting upset. He had a yogurt after this and we were is such a rush we did have time to clean the highchair, which we normally do. I noticed this morning that the high chair was still in the state we left it, now this is 4 days and it is still like this .

Good value , services can be a bit slow sometimes, but then it's popular and very busy , only tried breakfast

great family and all round cafe plenty of meals on offer at very good prices usually quick and reliabe service my personal favourite is There fish and chips they realy are the best i think than any in malton and norton give em a try

we called in thursday.09/04/2015.17/20.plenty of room.but no teapots out on display.also the female who took our order was very snapp`y.hope we dont get her again. the food was hot&tastywe will come back if we dont get the same female again.

The food here is really good and great tasting. However, I have given this three out of five as the food can be variable. This being a problem faced by many a great cafe/ restaurant that is as busy as this.

Have used Morrison`s cafes for many years now..excellent choice of food,qood quality and speedy and friendly service..but not this time.Firstly,the counter assistant got the order wrong..not much but she missed out the bacon in my sandwich..When this was mentioned ,she snatched the plate away,even thought I said it didn`t matter.twenty minutes later,my order had not returned so I asked about it.The bacon-less sausage sandwiched reappeared only very crusty and dry from the heat lamp. She said I had to wait another five minutes for my bacon...In the end I asked for a refund and got my £2 slammed onto the table with a very insincere `sorry`.A trivial incident but it put me off Morrisins in Malton...

Today 1st December 2014, my Father and I visited Morrison's Cafe in the Malton store, to attempt to enjoy a cooked breakfast each. Sadly this was never to happen. On arrival we were greeted with a queue of people; perhaps 8 in front of us! (I know it was overrun!) The lady in front of us was having issues finding a clean tray. Each and everyone was covered in some sort of filth; milk, old toast. One of the girls eventually managed to have a tray cleaned for her.When we approached checkout, we were advised it would be at least 30 minutes waiting time. The girls working were nice but really under pressure. The next in the queue were told it had gone to 40 minutes waiting time. We cancelled our order down, I went in search to try and get the staff some assistance.When I asked at customer service desk, the man phoned for the Manager, but the reply came back that the Manager was very busy and in meetings. Any Manager of any quality would surely stop the meeting for ten minutes to investigate the issue. Would he have given the same answer if there was a fire downstairs, or someone had become ill. This should have been flagged up immediately as a priority call. 40 Minutes waiting time!! and the Manager cant get his jacket off and help his team and look to trying to deliver some level of customer service. Any Manager of value would certainly have taken the time to visit that department and take his jacket off and get in with serving some teas, coffees, helping out to reduce the wait time to a reasonable level. Alternatively he could have sent other staff in for perhaps 30 minutes to blast the wait time down. No instead, eventually an Assistant Manager arrived. He arrived telling me, "No problem Mate, no problem" I have never met him before, why did he presume that I was his friend? I was not his friend, am not his friend now and never wish to be. He waltzed into the kitchen, never to be seen again. So please understand and believe me when I say this; Morrison's clearly demonstrated that they no real interest in any level of customer service, the Manager has many many other things to concern himself with. But the other depressing lesson from this was his total disregard for his own staff. Perfect example of the Manager fiddling whilst Rome burns....I highly recommend you do not put yourself through this level of pain and anguish anytime soon.

we called in for xmas dinner both had a three course meal&two pots of tea only let down was the turkey if thats what you call it more like compressed meat. and also the tables wanted clearing. staff what was on duty did a lot under pressure should have had more on duty.

Good food well cooked and great value for money, I had the fish and chips and a dessert and all for under £10, this made the shopping afterwards more leisurely and unhurried.

Use this handy restaurant every now and again and it has always been just fine with friendly staff. However last week the lady at the till was possibly the most off putting member of front line staff I have ever met. When we made a mistake with filling up our cups and tea pots at the drinks machine and promptly apologised for this we were put into our place with a frown that could have got 10 out of 10 if it was a frowning competition. It cost nothing to be friendly to your customers.

We called in for a quick drink before we tackled the shopping, can't say I was very impressed, the coffee machine coffee is definitely the best and it smelled terrible like sour old coffee, wish we hadn't bothered, should of tried the other little café over the car park road. The assistant couldn't care less either way and appeared to just want us out of the way of her queue with little or no customer service apparent

I'm a regular here and I love it here. It's the best place invented.got to be honest though I really dislike the new menu...

Went here with my Aunt, mother, and her boyfriend. Wish I hadn't bothered! When we were sorting the drinks out....the diet coke was like water, when we complained the woman behind the counter just said: 'oh is it?' like it was of no concern of her whatsoever. Managed to get another drink, but felt insulted already! Then at the counter when my Mum asked for Cheeseburger with Salad twice for her and my Aunt, the woman at the till gave her a funny look, and this continued when she informed the so-called Chef behind the counter. I ordered Gammon and Chips which were both crap, the Gammon tasted of shrivelled up Boiled Ham, and the Chips tasted like they had been cooked for ten minutes rather than twenty....they were tastless. I swapped with my Mum. Her Cheeseburger was just as crap...it tasted of grease rather than meat, the kind of thing you'd get from a cheap burger van. They had given her a ludicrous amount of salad and coleslaw. When my mother went to get some satchets of condiments, she was asked how many she'd got!! I wouldn't recommend this place. They want to buck their ideas up!
