Morrisons Cafe in Denbighshire

I ate at this cafe about 18 months ago and it was disgusting. I was in Rhyl again today and stupidly gave it another try. Just as bad as before. Never again.

Average at best is being polite, opted for thr full breakfast, what i don't understand is if you don't like an item it can be removed and replaced but at a n extra cost, my wife wanted bread and butter instead of toast but that was an extra £1 ? This doesn't make sense. I'm saving the electricity. Food was warm at best, the coffee machine was broken, so you make your own out of a jar with hot water. I wouldn't be rushing back. Staff were nice and helpful.

Place was dirty,tables full of old dirty food,so lucky to find a clean table. People leaving wheelchairs and prams and so on in the way so was like an obstacle course. Food took a while to come out. When it did it was lukewarm. Probably will get the squits of the sausages as the meat looked white. Chips were dry,rubbery and slightly burnt. Beans awful and obviously of low quality. Mothers meal she said was okay,hence the 2 stars otherwise would have been a 0 if possible. Her eggs were rubbery and same issue with the chips and beans. Would not return if you paid me.

Everytime we have visited this cafe the service has been terrible. Incorrect food, cold, and when you tell the staff they make you feel like it's your fault. Very demeaning! TODAY! Sun 30th July '23 went to cafe to try again. Well, the worst EVER! NO STAFF! Told can't order for at least half hour as only 1 staff cooking , cleaning, taking orders. Terrible! The staff member was not very nice, made to feel like we shouldnt be there. Probably frustrated no staff but could still be nice to customers. We have visited on a number of occasions & the service is always the same, poor quality. No coffee beans. EVEN STAFF SAID THE PLACE IS FALLING APART!! SHOCKING! We will stick to our local Morrisons Store in Denbigh which is absolutely impeccable in service and quality & always accommodating.

Shocking purchased a sandwich no butter or mayonnaise on the bread ordered a side plate of chips which had bee cooked in burnt fat

Ordered full breakfast, came and started to eat and it was cold and the bacon was very under cooked. The café had 4 tables occupied so wasn't as if they were busy. Just stood up and walked out and left on the table uneaten. Cant be bothered saying anything else but advise to go elsewhere.

The food wasn't cooked it was a total disgrace I used to go there years ago and it was always lovely food it had defiantly gone down hill

Undercooked bacon, overcooked black pudding, no beans, just assorted dry foods they had been kept heated. Awful. Waited ages for it too. I'll never go there again. Couldn't eat the whole meal. Went elsewhere for coffee just to put some moisture back in my mouth.

Not to bad this time. Nice food didn’t get the kids eat free. Didn’t ask at till about it as the lady working had been Ill and had already told me the story and that she was struggling, I did go back to the till before we left to advise but she had other customers and was telling the story to her, I hope she feels better soon

Asked a member off staff who was slouched behind the cafe till about the kids eat free meals and was rudely and abruptly told they wasn’t doing any hot meals so the children couldnt get the free meals included (even though it’s advertised all around the shops on boards) they should have removed them as I had unhappy children after telling them we could go for food. Very unhappy with how the member of staff spoke to me

Unfriendly staff me and my friends went here to eat a breakfast, The egg was very watery, The coffee was very bad to strong and they had no sugar at the time. My friends had a bacon bap the bap was frozen and there was no butter on the bap and the bacon was raw.

We popped into the cafe for breakfast, there was a queue and no staff around, my husband had to call into the kitchen to get someone to serve. The member of staff came out, no apology for the delay, followed by another member of staff who proceeded to carry on the conversation they had been having in the kitchen She served us and after we sat down she cleared the queue and then went back into the kitchen. The staff seem very rude and un interested in their job or even the customers

Used to be a semi-regular here pre-Covid and had assumed that the lack of people using it was because they, like me, were avoiding eating out. But now I don't think so. We had business in town early today and decided to have breakfast here for the first time in 2 years. They always used to be passable, if not brilliant, but today's was awful. I had the big breakfast, my partner the vegetarian, we both left most of it. The mushrooms and a half of tomato were barely cooked and cold, my black pudding was done to a crisp but probably because it had been reheated several times, the fried egg was solid, luke warm and greasy. The single slice of bacon was undercooked while the sausages were hard and cold. The hash browns were dripping in grease had also been re-heated and tasted rancid. The beans, now in a trendy bowl, were as cold as the rest of it. It was all piled up on a too small plate with a slice of toast dumped on top. We had to ask for spread/butter and sauce which was brought in the form of two small sachets. You had to move the toast to get at anything else on the plate but there was nowhere for you to put it apart from the not very clean table. Since we last visited they've changed the tables and chairs and started using different plates (that you can only get one on a tray - good planning Morrison's) and made it so no one wants to visit any more, it makes me wonder if it is deliberate, so they can rent the space to a Costa franchise instead. When we were eating there were three tables plus our own occupied. When we returned just before 1pm to do some shopping there were two tables occupied. Lunch time and no one was there. We won't be returning.

Me & my friend went for breakfast but unfortunately the meal was cold except for the beans & hash browns. My friend's bacon was uncooked & fatty. Egg swimming in oil. Our mushrooms which looked nice as it was a proper flat type & not usual tin ones was that cold we cud'nt eat it. We've had breakfasts here before when I come down to see her, so maybe its not the same cook now! I know we should have sent it back but they seemed short staffed & not the usual people on. It was a pity cos I look forward to my breakfast treat when down in Rhyl.

My wife and I had a meal in Morrison's, I had a Christmas Turkey Meal which I had to send back as only warm. I received the meal back only to find it the same only warm!! Also the piped music was too loud and asked the cafe manager if it could be turned down to no avail. I'm afraid this will be the last meal there.

Plenty of choice on the menu and the food is very good. However the tables, floor and cutlery are filthy. Could be a lot better

Came here for veggie breakfast didn't have veggie stuff asked for veggie burger didn't have that when they can walk over to shop to get some.. Attitude of the woman too. Avoid it I won't be coming again😠

Utter rubbish on this occasion. we love coming to Morrison's for our late breakfast but on this occasion it was awful. Photo says it all

Decided to give this cafe a try for breakfast, bad move, all the food was as stiff as cardboard, the only thing worth eating was the toast.

Lukewarm breakfast was very overpriced. Nothing in the photograph had been eaten. Count the beans! Egg and sausage were nice and hot, mushrooms cold and everything else lukewarm.

Ordered drinks and cake took number paid then sat at table and waited Nothing came Went to counter to see if drinks coming Answer NO get your own drink and cakes from display No cakes or apple pies available Took ages to get a refund...

Having not visited for a while due to poor service, food and cleanliness we decided to give it another go. What can I say!! IT IS WORSE. Filthy tables, scruffy staff. Again waited ages to be served. Got to the coffee machine which needed emptying...

Staff to busy talking had to ask them to serve us -- 50/50 luke warm and cold breakfast . only 8 people in at breakfast and still cold food Staff could not care less

I have now been here now on average 5 times to eat but everytime the place is like a bombs hit it with dirty tables ect and the food is not even words can describe cold and horrible is an understatement in picture it says...

Not used this Cafe for 6 months -- Tried it again today Nothing changed same Dirty Tables - 50% Dirty Cups - Cold Bacon/ Luke Warm beans .You complain to the staff and they stand there looking blank like Zombies -- Definitely the last time

Shocked at the reviews here. Me & my partner come here every other week. The 5 stars I have put is for the food and the service... I’m going to have to agree with some of the reviews about dirty cutlery, dirty tables etc. Whoever...

Stopped for a quick breakfast . Self service checkout is very good. The breakfasts were ok for the cost, nothing special. Sunflower spread for the toast was horrible.

Went with my disabled mum,we had jacket potato and prawns which was nice,but the salad was awful.my mum had gammon egg chips.she or I couldn’t cut the gammon as it was so tough,and the gravy for thin,very disappointing meal for such a great store.

Called here for a late breakfast on the last Friday in May. I had the Big Daddy breakfast with fruit juice and toast and my wife and mother 2 smaller and different breakfast dishes. We also had cappuccino and teas. Service very friendly and attentive....

I have visited this place many times with my family and every time I’m disappointed. Today when I visited my food took over 40 minutes to arrive and I ordered a toasted sandwich! This is after I wanted an omelette and was told they didn’t have any despite other members with me having other varieties of eggs with their meals. I don’t understand how you can be out of omelettes and still have eggs ? It has been the case every time I’ve visited this place that they have never had the first thing I’ve wanted.

Shopping was ok. One fish dinner and one pie dinner. Lovely It was a busy time of day so we had to wait a while to get food. Staff were pleasant and helpful

Pleasant enough food but the chicken and avocado salad was not on the menu despite being advertised. Service was average but prices good.

For the THIRD time in recent months I have ordered a vegetarian breakfast which, according to the menu, includes mushrooms only to have a meal put before me without mushrooms! Upon querying I am told 'we've run out' by some drippy member of staff who couldn't be bothered to tell me at the time of ordering. I am then offered something to compensate, ie more beans, another egg etc NO! I wanted mushrooms and expect to be told at point of ordering if there isn't any so I can choose something else,,,it's not that difficult is it? Never, ever again will I venture into this place.

Went today for lunch I have not been for a long time. The place is absolutely disgusting. The cutlery was dirty the trays were dirty and the table which had just been cleaned was the worst. Had food which was very average as I had paid for it I was starving so I had to eat it. But I felt sick after seeing all the dirt so I only ate a bit. The place was not that busy so no excuse for the dirt. I wish they would train their staff about cleaning and about customer service as the food is brought out and just plonked down no conversation at all. Very poor show. I had a tray and then told the lady on the counter it was filthy so she gets a dirty cloth and wipes it and then puts it back in the pile shame on you Morrison’s put some training into your staff as this place could be lovely and the food could be a lot better. The hygiene standard needs to be addressed before I ever return

Food so Low priced. I dont expect much for a Supermarket-Café. Not Clean Tables or anywhere near the Café. Staff not friendly. Can Not Cook, Food is always Cold or Under-Cooked. But over all. Staff 1/10. Food 1/10. Clean 1/10. Price 7/10. Drinks 5/10.

Was in Morrison's so I thought I would try there breakfast instead of going to my usual place, Jays in Market Street.

Visited this morning with friends to have breakfast to find cafe looking dirty ordered small breakfasts came with no beans on. Not enough staff on and cutlery filthy had to choose the best out of the containers not impressed.

Came here for a drink and a bun first hot chocolate was tasted like coffee so explained to member of staff and changed it for another one only been told asking did you select hot chocolate which I did obviously. The second hit chocolate was better.

We decided to bring the kids here for a Friday treat and arrived at about 4:20pm.

Usual filthy Cutlery -- filthy Cups and Most of the Breakfast was Cold apart from a Sausage --- Considering it was 9.30 in the morning and only 8 People eating -- This was utterly disgusting -- if the Kitchen staff stopped talking and paid attention to what they are Paid to do Things might improve --Sloppy Lazy Attitude and Very Poor store management Would not even make a Soup Kitchen for the Poor

After driving home through the night, I unfortunately decided to have breakfast here today

Food was awful, waited forty minutes after being told 20 minutes, fried egg was rock hard, toast was black and everything was cold. Would give no stars. Wouldn’t recommend

Dropped in here on way to holiday park..we all had Welsh beef curry absolutely delicious..poor staff totally rushed off their feet..one girl was desperately trying to clear tables then called to till then to drinks machine then for bringing out meals all within 15 mins..managers need to ensure more staff on duty then complaints wouldn't be necessary..these ladies were subject to some terrible comments which in all fairness they brushed off but shouldn't have to..come on morrisons keep your customers and staff happy..

Probably one of the worst food experiences I have ever had... Simply disgusting.

We had breakfast daily here during our 7 day vacation. Good service, good food at a good price (full English with toasts for under GBP5 excluding drinks). Obviously there is a whole supermarket attached to the cafe (or actually the other way round) but the cafe is conveniently placed before the cashiers so you do not have to actually pay at the busy tills. Instead the cafe section has its own cashier, drinks section (including machine coffee, ground coffee, softdrinks (bottled or fountain) slush puppy, juices and shakes.

Fairly big Morrisons in Rhyl right next to train and bus station, ideal to get shopping in if in self catering holiday accommodation.

We came here for a drink and meal after attending a friends funeral.I had the mega breakfast and my sister had chips and egg.my Bacon was all fat the sausage was cold and fried bread was so hard I couldn't eat it.my sisters egg was undercooked and chips were stone cold.the cups we took for hot drinks were dirty when I handed it to the assistant she put it back in the rack.we complained but heard nothing back.won't return

Won't visit again it was dirty and the staff were rude the knifes and forks were dirty dried on food and the cups not clean we had a spill and one of the girls pulled a face when I told her the only member of staff that was pleasant was a young girl called hanna she was lovely I must say that but I won't go again if front of house isn't clean what is the kitchen like?? Food was cold and just not great I'm sorry morrisons but it's a let down!

Diry tables.Trays collected (eventually) but didn’t bother to wipe the tables down. Food stale and tasteless.Just basically scruffy and off putting. Won’t go there again

On a visit to Rhyl the family and I popped into Morrison’s for an tea time treat. The food was great and arrived very quickly after ordering. The Welsh Beef Curry was brilliant and very tasty, skinny Chicken Burger was lovely according to my wife and there wasn’t a lot left on the kids plate. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Tables appeared very clean and tidy and there was a useful children’s play space. All in all a very enjoyable visit and if we pass again we will sure to drop in for more. Well done Morrison’s!

staff very friendly and efficient. We had the flying start which came out swimming in oil and the egg was under done, also the cleanliness of cutlery is an issue.

As a local pop in for coffee - used to eat there but breakfast always 50% cold --Staff take more time talking and standing about in the back and you can see them .Store manager must not be bothered

Popped in for quick lunch, it's not the best place to eat, having visited a few times before, but only thing nearby with parking.

We popped in for a coffee and sandwich after shopping. The cafe was quiet. I selected a prawn sandwich, bottle of orange and cup for a latte. I was left waiting at the till while the woman took all the tenners and fivers out and put them all facing the same way. No apology for the wait. I presented my MORE card-and was told curtly that the scanner was not working-again no apology or advice as to how to get my points. There was a lot of tables littered with dirty trays. The actual empty tables were filthy and sticky. We selected the best of the ones, and wiped it down with our own wet wipes. The drinks were ok, but the prawn sandwich was both dry(prawns) and damp (bread) at the same time.

Been several times to this cafe food isn’t the best at all and more offen than not the food takes a lot longer to get to people the less people that are in the cafe as the staff would rather stand around talking seen staff leave a guy hardly able to stand on his own struggle to take his drink to the table as the staff would rather talk to each other most the staff in the store are rude and the management aren’t any beter as no complaints are followed up

Had a big breakfast at the morrisons cafe, the Bacon was like dried out cardboard, egg was solid, hash brown dry, sausages was lukewarm, mushrooms shriveled,the beans were the only thing hot, its like like the meal had been precooked and then just kept warm for a long period and then the hot beans added when someone orders. On the plus side the coffee was good.

Good value for breakfast and lunch. Pleasant atmosphere for a supermarket cafe and the staff are welcoming and pleasant.Great for a quick coffee and croissant. Recommended.

How does it take a quiet cafe 25 minutes to make food?! Are the staff all on something? They really are like zombies here. My partner only ordered the 'mega breakfast', which contains...two hash browns, a slice of cold fried bread, an anaemic sausage, some bacon that's all fat, scalding hot microwaved beans and some mushrooms that look ashamed to be here. And the infamous plastic egg.

Visited in between all day shopping and just coming from local garage to buy a car. So we were quite hungry and fancied something warm to eat. Easy to see what was on offer. Not too many people in the queue and we served ourselves coffee quite quickly. Ordered meals and was advised at the till that there was a wait of approx. 15 minutes, but we were ok with that. Extremely pleasant gentleman at the till, which makes all the difference. No salt available, but eventually found some in a small bowl. Meals arrived and were very good. Unfortunately drinks were cold and it would have been nice to have got a top up to drink with our meals. Café was very clean and tables seemed to be cleared efficiently.

We visited whilst on holiday, service was great, staff friendly and helpful. Food was good and great value for money. There were offers on for adult and kids meals.

We visited while it was quiet but there was still a very long queue to be served. I asked for a small cup of tap water for my child and was told they won't give water you have to buy it - but the only water available was carbonated or had added flavour and sweeteners. The woman serving was incredibly rude and demanded to know what my child's medical condition was when I explained she needed plain water (to add to medication). Have never ever been refused a cup of water before - we all bought food and adult drinks we were paying customers. Morrisons cafes are usually lovely but this particular staff's attitude was appalling today :(

Probably one of the best supermarket cafes I have been to and 100% better than a certain local cafe visited earlier in week staff where very pleasant on both occasions that we visited while on holiday excellent value for money for families with children and I would highly recommend

The café was less than a quarter full, yet it took them 32 minutes to bring a gammon, egg and chips. The gammon was like mush, the egg was a lake of grease, the chips were still frozen in the middle and the peas were like rocks. On the plus side...umm...

We have been coming here for a number of years and have always been impressed with the quality of the food. Today was no exception. Our food was promptly served. The cafe was clean and looked good following its recent refurbishment. Staff friendly and polite.

Had some friends staying and decided to go and have our breakfasts for a change as we know they're very good we had a large and small with extra black pudding and fried bread with teas all very nice, our friends both had large with coffees we all said that it set us up for the day really good size portion's recommend here!

Excellent breakfast, don't skimp on the portion sizes, place was spotlessly clean, the service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Ordered large and smaller breakfasts with tea and coffee we thought the service and the food was very good also good value for money! Everywhere clean and tidy toilets there clean and tidy too, good they've got 2 different types of chairs as the one type couldn't sit on at all because of wife's and myselfs disability but other type were fine as you can sit back on them, would definitely go there again and recommend there to!

I take a totally blind and diabetic old chap out for lunch on Sundays.I have visited this cafe more as it is easier to get him in and seated while I order.I agree it is hit and miss.He has enjoyed the lamb shank and it is easy for him to eat,and for me to cut up for him as it is so tender,but isn't always available.This Sunday I had to order an alternative and we had beef roast.I was amazed to find they didn't have any little packs of mustard or horse radish,but had tartare sauce and brown sauce and ketchup.I went into the store to buy a pot of mustard.He also used to like a small bowl of curry sauce which we paid 60p for that he liked with chips,but that hasn't been available for a long time.I spoke to someone who said that this store falls behind a lot of other of your branches.It is value for money,but needs a few improvements.

I have visited here a few times and found the food and drink a little hit and miss. The service is pleasant enough and there are various offers on especially for children. If I am shopping in there I would go in the cafe, but I wouldn't go in there specifically for something to eat or drink.

Visited while we were in the shop, had a two course Christmas dinner. The soup was okay, we had to wait 45 minutes for the dinner which was cold,next one was acceptable but was just bland

we had breakfast here everday for a week and enjoyed them ,not long to wait and good service ,the only down fall is we decided to come for tea one day and was dissapoited with meal no taste to it ,but the breakfasts were always nice

Me and a friend called in morrisons for a bite to eat there wasn't alot of eaters in .The queue was long 6 staff only one was working took me an hour off getting my food which was cheese tomato sandwich a cake and pot of tea I ordered a side salad to be made up .I was that long waiting to give my order my mate gave up and decided not to order ...I sat down with sandwich cake and t I waited further 40 minutes for salad I aventualy went up they forgot about my salad ...food was nice but service absolutely terrible .

Went there with my mum for dinner just after we done are shopping. So we go in the line every try was dirty as you can see in the pictures. Then we get to the drinks there flat as anything. But when we get to the till the person who's on wernt the kindest. And there was stock left all over the place waiting to be put away . Can be seen in pictures. And when the food come to us it was just slopped in the dishes to what I could say as no care about the presentation. Wont be returning

We called for 2 large breakfast. Servicevwas actually quite quick. However lukewarm beans is a big no. The plates were cold therefore the rest of the breakfast went cold fast. There was quite a lot of grease on the plate plus the fried bread was very crunchy. On a positive side our drinks were good

Decided to have a breakfast at the morrisons cafe whilst my wife shopped. The food that came out was barely edible. Bacon was dried out cardboard, egg was solid, beans tepid, hash brown dry, sausage was warm rather than hot. It tasted like the whole meal had been sat under a heat lamp for half an hour. The toast was thrown on the same plate with everything piled on top so was soggy by the time I scraped the tepid beans off it.Morrisons should be ashamed of serving this as a meal it was unfit for a trough. Absolutely disgusting.

OK for a quick visit in an emergency ! My granddaughter was happy with her meal. Staff were nice and helpful.

We go here every Saturday and the staff are always, without exception, cheerful, friendly, helpful and hardworking. Nothing is too much trouble, they are the most friendly bunch of staff I have ever met.

Called in here with granddaughter for breakfast,food was utter garbage bacon had been cooked and reheated, sausage was burnt black, rock hard hash browns i would be embarrassed to serve this c.

I love that Morrisons has a sweet little cafe that has nice eats and good tea and coffees. This is a lovely way to begin your weekly shop. They have some lovely sandwiches and pastries and some really nice servers. I always try to stop in when I am able. Give them a try!

Good variety but seriously could do better and take more pride in what is being served. Food so overcooked it's inedible on children's meals and some food clearly been left under heat lamps. Get better at greasy spoon

Hungry after shopping, so decided on fish and chips for lunch, very tasty, and a decent sized portion. The service was excellent, friendly staff, happy in their work.

We went on a very short trip to Rhyl and Morrisons saved our trip as we were renting a caravan and bouhgt all our essential stuffs from Morrisons. Also, enjoyed our breakfast and lunch over at Morrisons, which we regularly do (even if not in Rhyl!).

Nothing special,just ok.Plenty of seating and cheap and cheerful food.I wish they would cover up the cakes which are openly displayed as you queue for food and drinks.People touching things and coughing etc.Things like this need to be covered.

The food in the Morrisons cafe is cheap and cheerful. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to eat there but if you're shopping in Morrisons and you're there anyway you could do worse. Unlike a lot of supermarket cafes where the food is prepared in advance and left congealing on hotplates all the food is prepared to order. It means more of a wait than you'll have elsewhere but that's a reasonable price to pay for freshly prepared food.

Nice man on the till let me change the all-day-breakfast menu around so I could have the items I wanted, was well cooked although had to wait awhile for veggie sausages

Menu standard with other Morrisons so we were able to choose quickly and easily,even though busy service was quick

The cafe at Morrisons in Rhyl is a cheap if unspectacular place for a quick snack. I recently visited with the kids, I had cheese omlette and kids had chicken nugget and hot dog kids meals (which come complete with a drink, apple and grape bag, chocolate bar and a mini colouring book with crayons). Including my coffee this came to just under eleven quid for all three meals. The meals were all perfectly acceptable and filling although I'd have preferred a fresh side salad rather than beans with my omlette, but I guess you get what you pay for and at the prices they charge I'm not complaining too much.
