Unfortunately there was a lack of cleanliness in respect of tables not being clean or cleared of dirty pots. Received a call from the manager and an email from customer services which was very good. However I will not be visiting again

Not been here for a couple of months due to poor slow service and not great customer service, food ok, used to be a regular.Came a couple of days ago on Saturday. The service was much better, waited ten minutes for my food which I felt was reasonable. Food was good value and well cooked. Movement in the right direction will come again very soon. Well done.

Before we started our shop we were going to use the cafe. However after hearing the woman at the till saying there was a 30 minute wait for cooked food we decided to wait until after our shopping when we hoped it would be a bit quieter, although it wasn’t exactly heaving with people at this point. We returned after our shopping just after 2pm. The cafe had about 8 people in it and 2 of them already had food, so we didn’t expect to wait and we certainly weren’t warned there would be a wait. We ordered a Mega Breakfast, chips, tea and hot chocolate. There was a sign at the till to say there was a free sachet of sauce with each meal but none was offered and none was available at the till. Once the very pleasant, young lady had taken our order she then went into the kitchen and then there was no member of staff at the till. Quite a few people had a minimum 5 minute wait before a member of staff came to serve. The hot chocolate was empty so after informing a member of staff she refilled the machine, but it still wasn’t working. She suggested that I walked to the Costa machine in the foyer to get the drink. I explained that I didn’t want to walk through the shop with a hot drink and didn’t want to pay the extra so she went and got the drink for me. After we had finished our drinks we had well over a 20 minute wait despite the cafe being really quiet. I went to ask where our food was and was told it was just coming. Another 10 minutes went by before it arrived. The Mega breakfast was lacking it’s 2 slices of bacon. I told the only member of staff I could find and she said she’d get it sorted out, but she got waylayed by another customer who couldn’t get any coffee from the machine. She walked off to get someone to help her with the coffee machine but still no sign of bacon. My friend then went and told them he was still waiting. She said she’d see to it. A few minutes later she came out and plonked a slice of bacon in his plate. I said, it’s meant to be 2 pieces. So she came back after a couple of minutes and plonked another slice on his plate. Meanwhile the 2 coffee machines were out of order and there was only tea. The breakfast wasn’t good. The mushroom were dry and leathery, the tomato was virtually raw, the egg was over cooked and dried out and the baked beans were dried and congealed. My chips tasted like they had a fair few old chips in with them so not the best. I have been here once before and was met with a member of staff who was lack lustre and unpleasant. I had an eclair and tea and the cream in the eclair was off. I don’t think I will be bothering to go there again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.

We waited an hour for food. No tables cleared. Dirty. When the food came it wasn't correct asked for money back. There were numerous people asking for a refund. Apparently there was a colleagues funeral. Still should have staff cover if you are open. Shambles

Absolutely waste of time, always a wait for food even if the cafe is nearly empty, same excuse all the time.

Very disappointed with the whole cafe experience. The only coffee available was Americano due to the machine not working properly. This was also only luke warm and not particularly pleasant. After shopping in store, we had been looking forward to a nice cup of coffee and cake. The selection of cakes available was extremely poor for a bustling cafe. There were no plates either. Considering the lovely cakes Morrisons has in- store it really was unacceptable and puzzling. The time was only 2.30. The cafe must be well used by clientele from the college and sports centre besides being in an ideal location for travellers. There really isn’t any excuse for the catering to be so abysmal.

Morrisons Leigh Sports Village has always been the worst supermarket by far. I refuse to go in. Plus not even the cheapest. The deli staff, some cashiers and salad bar are always aggressive, personally attacking customers and constantly rude. This is when they are not stood around talking, gossiping and skiving off. As a result, the salad bar is always poorly stocked and old not fresh, and other departments bad. Avoid, go to a proper supermarket. E.g Yvonne on the checkout and women on the deli. Store managers and head office not interested for months.

I think they were busier than usual because a Rugby Union World Cup match, which I attended, was taking place at the Leigh Sports Village stadium opposite the store; friendly prompt efficient attentive customer service, delicious big breakfast. Next time I return to Leigh Sports Village for sport, I'll come back here to eat.

What a grumpy unhelpful member of staff working in the cafe. Admittedly she was serving, clearing up and giving out the meals but a little help wouldn't go amiss. No forks available and the knives that were were visibly dirty. My granddaughter began eating her meal with her fingers until we realised they'd be put out without the staff telling us after letting her know there were none. Meal itself, ten chips and half of them were the ends of the potato. Extremely tasteless meals and not worth the £20 I spent on two meals

Waited an hour for small breakfasts even though there was hardly anyone in when food finally arrived it was burnt tasted disgusting and unedible disappointing

Staff seemed friendly enough but uninspired and slightly harrased. 1. Coffee machine dispensed like warm/cold latte. Staff member told me I could have another one when I complained. 2. Bacon sandwich on a barm was burned to a crisp. Probably been made a couple of hours previously. Staff said their was no toast because toaster was broke. 3. Cleaning tables seemed to be an issue. I was one of a number of customers who made this observation. Won't be going back there again!!! Any time soon.

Today I had my 1st and last full English breakfast! To start the meal came quick which is not always a good thing! This is why the bacon was nearly cooked, the beans where of the lowest quality!. The only positive point was the exit. All in all I would advise anyone who dare to experience food in Morrison's cafe to seriously reconsider! Disgusting is a kind word to comment on such an experience!!!!

The meal takes an extremely long time to come however once it does come it is adequate. Do not advise to visit if you have any arrangements in the next 3-5 working days

Slow, needlessly complicated, over priced. Basically very poor. Our 1st and only visit to a cafe that used to be great. Cost savings have ruined it.

Our local Morrisons was closed last year (Morrisons Ince), we shopped there for 20+ years and never had an issue in store or in the cafe. Leigh on the other hand is disgraceful, the service is incredibly slow and the food is substandard (and I don’t expect much in a supermarket cafe). The staff are blatantly rude throughout the shop and it’s disgusting.

Visited today, absolutely will not be returning, firstly met on entering by the most miserable person I’ve met in my life, how she actually as a job is beyond me, leaning on a rail no welcome no instructions to new guild lines no customer service skills! Had to listen to the till staff moaning in the kitchen about how she hates being on the till rather then actually serving us! Food came cold and missing items, mentioned to a different staff member who just replied with ok!!Definitely would insist on retraining of that staff, When do many people are being made redundant who would expect staff to actually want to be employed, shocking!

Our local Morrison’s closed last year so we made an afternoon trip to the Leigh store to do some shopping for products we can’t find elsewhere. Whilst there we decided to take advantage of the Eat Out to Help out scheme. Covid safety measures were in place, hand sanitiser, cutlery and condiments delivered to your table plus a form was supplied asking for contact details etc., The food was standard cafe fare. We ordered Fish and Chips and the good thing about Morrison’s is the fish is always fresh (not frozen). They had run out of mushy peas so substituted garden peas. Overall normal standard of food but at half price so no complaints.

Just been into your Cafe at the Leigh Store. Obviously very very busy due to the half price government eat in deals.Told there was a 30 to 40 minute wait for hot food, which we accepted and waited. Got our drinks, and waited, and waited, and waited. Jimmy who I presume was the manager was running about like a legless chicken. Clearing and cleaning tables. If he had used the tray trolley he would have made a better impression. Making Iit quicker and easier to keep on top. We waited and then after 30 minuets someone came out to say they had run out of jacket potatoes. We had ordered a brunch as well, if someone had come 20 minuets earlier we could have reordered somthing else. I spoke with Jimmy who apologised, went to get the brunch then arrived with our jacket potatoes 40 minuets after we ordered. It was obvious that there were either not enough staff or what staff they had were just duplicating each other. As it happened we did get our meals, eventually, and good it was, pity about the slow service.

35 minutes to wait for 2x cheese and mushroom omelettes chips beans and a burger and hardly anyone in at 230pm when it arrived I wouldn’t give either meals to my dog.Chips burnt cold & dry tried to eat the omelette then found a hair underneath it which turned my stomach.This place has got worse ..filthy tables filthy floor cutlery and cups stained and dirty.Complained about the food received money back but no apology for the shoddy service and disgusting inedible food.Come in Morrisons get your act together !

Often go to cafe when were shopping there, its touch and go re the quality of the food, more often than not the food is at best luke warm, never hot, thrown on the plate, always greasy, under the plates is swimming in grease, so must be off the work services. Staff uninterested, regarding the tables etc well, nearly always cluttered and because people use the self clear system the tables never get wiped, the self serve area for drinks and cutlery is always filthy and the cutlery is never clean food left on or at best badly water stained. the cutlery is placed in pots handles down so everyone is mauling with the tops of the cutlery that you use to cut up or put in your mouth, they should be stacked handles up for all, we always run them under the hot water for tea. The teapots are stained brown from the tea, never cleaned, they should be soaked in bleach water overnight every week then ran through the dish washer. no one seems to care, food poisoning waiting to happen, we are going to stop going there. We go to several Morrisons Cafes and sadly they are all the same.

We’ve had a few meals here and they were very good. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food is basic but cooked properly and served attractively. Can get a bit busy at times but they always let you know if there’s likely to be a delay. Inexpensive, fresh and timely - what’s not to like!

First at 11.15am today the auto order was not working because they had not put out the number cards, so simple a job. Breakfast was pre cooked and part microwaved, beans were put on plate instead of bowl. ash browns soggy, sausages spongey, scrambled egg part warm ,part cold. Tomato looked like road kill. The hole meal was warm. We should have spoted the demise of the cafe with only ten people in and only one other person ordering a breakfast. On top of all this we went to the meat counter and the only Ham on the bone looked like what the other Morrisons stores sell as scraps for the dogs. We left and went to the Morrisons Store at Ince Wigan, 20min away, the café was busy 39 people eating and so we shoped there, the store you are closing, I think they should close the Leigh one and keep the Ince Wigan open.

We visit this establishment quite regularly, ok some time it’s busy and meals do take time to arrive. The choice is quite good and in the main the food is ok.Don’t expect cordon blur standard, but it’s good enough. In the main the food has always been great. Particularly the breakfasts, and there are plenty of options.Staff are always polite and helpful.

The first time we had breakfast here it was brilliant in every way, then walked in one day and couldn’t believe it, the tables were full of dirty plates with left over food, as this was early it was obvious nobody had cleaned up the last time it closed, the staff service was terrible, picked up a cup for a coffee and it still had mouth mark on the rim, the cutlery was filthy, we then thought go elsewhere and have never been back since, obviously this was down to the manager, but even if the manager was off that day the staff should have done their job cleaning up the night beforeThe reason this review has only just been put on is because we thought about going back again but decided not to Maybe some other time!

We had done a big shop and Hayley on the cafe reception smiled warmly and encouraged us to go in, a credit to her for warmth, we ordered a tasty brunch with courteous and attentive service, thanks Morroisons and thanks Hayley

Went with a group, and spent a few minutes waiting for others to join us, at which point we were rudely told that we'd have to leave as we hadn't ordered anything. After convincing them that we were going to order, we were approached rudely many times asking us to move tables and chairs, as we were in the way of the aisle (as we had pulled up a chair to the end of the table, slightly into the aisle, which wasn't very busy at all and nobody had asked us to move or yried to get past). There was nothing wrong with asking us to move over - but there are ways of saying things, and it didn't need to be so rude ("Move over right now - you're causing chaos") and could have just been "Hi, please can you move out of the way of the aisle?" We were all in our early 20s, so can only assume they thought we were a group of teenagers from the way we were talked to, although teenagers shouldn't be treated like that either... However, the hot salmon pasta was really nice - shame it wasn't worth the service.

I don’t undertstand the negative reviews on here. This is the best Morrisons cafe I have visited. The service was great, the food came quickly and the veggie breakfast I ordered was the best one I have had at any Morrisons. It was really nice, I couldn’t fault anything.

This is a large clean cafe in Morrison's. Great for grabbing a coffee after grocery shopping or a quick bite to eat. Friendly staff too. Reasonably priced. Large seating area so always a nice quiet corner to hide in.

Simply crap. Queue for 15mins, wait for a mediocre Full English for 30mins, just for them to forget toast. People AFTER you get their food BEFORE you... Pricing of items puzzling: £3 for a 200ml bottle of Tropicana orange juice or Copella apple juice even though you can get litres cheaper in store. Everyone sat around, miserable. Toilets rubbish- no soap in dispensers.

It's a case of asking first before you order food here.

If your looking for artisan cuisine and eclectic decor, this isn’t the place. If you want a good value, hearty breakfast then this place is alright. I stopped here to eat by chance and I would probably do the same again

Usually a quick bite whilst shopping in store - but service here is very slow. A dish of chips took about half an hour and I literally had to be off somewhere in a hurry which wasn't good. Omelettes are Morrison's own frozen ones too ....

Everytime I've been to Morrisons there are always uncleared dirty tables. Never enough staff, service is slow and food is below parr compared to other supermarket cafes nuked food! I haven't been this year (2017) because I was so appalled by my experiences.

Have used Morrison's cafes a lot over various areas and this is not one of the best. The service is slow even when they aren't very busy, however the food is very cheap in all of the Morrison's and they do a special offer for children at teatime. In my opinion it is the best food in comparison to other supermarkets.

Had gammon, egg, chips and tea. Meal cooked to order. Excellent food. Only downside, extras like tea, bread and butter cost nearly as much as the meal. Drinks are diy.

Was going to watch a pre season friendly at the Leigh Sports Village and called in here for coffee first. It was quite busy with other supporters as it is very handy . The staff were really friendly and helpful and it was very clean which is not always the case with supermarket cafes . The tea and coffee is self service and the food which others had was good value.
