Morrisons in Rhondda Cynon Taf

The restaurant is understaffed. It took 30 minutes for the cashier to serve two people in front of me. She had to interrupt her work to replenish the coffee machine, then to refill serviette dispenser. Morrison’s loyalty card reader not working so she has to type in the long card number. Crumpets and jam served without jam because they were too understaffed to fetch more from the stores. Queue behind me stretching out the door because the cashier doing everything bar cashier role. The loyalty card reader has been broken for weeks with no sign of it being fixed.

My father (61) and grandmother (86) went to the Morrisons store in Porth (CF399BA) around 7pm on the 17th January 2023. She had a full trolley full (around £70/£80 worth of shopping). When they went to pay there was nobody on the checkout so my father asked a worker near him and was told they don’t open the checkouts in the evening and they would need to use self serve. Firstly if they only had a few items fair enough but this was a full trolley. My father kindly asked if a checkout could be opened as my grandmother is quite unstable on her feet and needed an easy checkout. The lady point blank refused to open a checkout and walked away. My father approached another worker who confirmed they don’t open the checkouts in the evening. Again this was around 7pm. Not even close to the 10pm closing time of the store. My father asked for speak to a manager and a gentleman came and reiterated the same thing. My father and grandmother who then had no choice but to advise they would have to leave the trolly as they can’t use the self service and my grandmother is to unable to wait that long. The manager then reluctantly said “ok but just this once we will open a check out for you” and reluctantly opened a check out. I also would like to add that there was a worker in most aisles restocking shelves for the next day. I find this level of service absolutely shameful. If you close checkouts in the evening then at-least put a sign outside/by the door and if it’s not the case then you need to inform the staff members that if a customer requests a check out open with a full trolley of shopping then to open one. Also my grandmother has been shopping at this Morrisons for years and only over the last year since recovering from breast cancer does she now have to have help with her shopping. If my grandmother had gone by herself and nobody had opened a checkout it is so disappointing knowing how upset she would have been as nobody wanted to help. I know it might not seem like a big deal as it’s only a checkout but my grandmother is so upset about this. I would like a reply to confirm something will be said to this store because I would hate it to happen to someone else

Normally very good but on this occasion despite it being quiet when we arrived it took 30 mins to boil an egg. The kind lady serving us, called through to get the egg on as soon as we ordered. The egg was supposed to be a dippy egg, which my daughter would eat, instead it had definitely been boiled for the full half an hour judging by how hard it was. Worryingly it was put on the table full of boiling water, not safe for a child. The cooked breakfast was ok but missing items, not as good as it used to be sadly.

I visited the store around 8 o’clock on Wednesday 24th March And I wasn’t with my disabled son so we were doing our shopping I needed to find bread crumbs so I asked the Lovely boy Which I thought was a manger his name badge said Rhys he showed me where they were he then kindly asked did I need anything else I give him my whole shopping list the poor boy but he helped me carried my shopping to the till he there were Ques so he seen I was struggling with my son so he opened his own till and served me and packed my items And took them to my car and took my trolley back we had a good conversation with each other and spoke about his plans for the future he was a very lovely young boy And I wasn’t very shocked when I asked how old he was and he said 17 he is bloody tall but he was very helpful amen kind I offered him a five pound note for helping and he turned it away then said he would rather my son get a toy I will hopefully see him soon and have more talks with him he was very kind and caring we need more peopl in the world like Rhys

Bought a few Bootles of Cider on the 3 for £5 offer. At the tills I paid but couldn't understand why it was soo expensive. A few metres from the till after checking my receipt I noticed I was charged for each individual item. I asked a member off Staff that I assume was the manager if he could check the prices. He came back and said that one of the bottles was not on offer. I told him that I must of made s mistake because the signs are misleading and confusing. I asked him if I could changed one of the bottles which would then make the offerr 3 for £5. He told me it was not possible because there was no refund policy even though I had just bought it and not even left the store and was a few metres from the til. The managers attitude was appalling and his ability to think out of the box in this situation needs work. The incident happened on 20/12/20 at approx 1500hrs.

This is the first time we have been to Porth and came because this is the nearest Morrison's to our home (thought we would shop somewhere different for a change).. The staff were extremely friendly and chatty. We all had the small breakfast which was beautifully presented and more than big enough. The breakfast was great value and there was free parking too. After the breakfast we shopped at the store which was well stocked and clean. Whilst in the cafe we got talking to a local man who told us about Hannah Street. This is basically where you will find all of the shops, most of which are unique to the area. For example Occasions the gift shop, Celtic Jewellers (a traditional jewellers), Richard Family butcher's, Fresh and fruity (fruit and veg shop) and Jeff's jewellers (bespoke Jewellery maker). There are plenty of places to eat, the street was very clean and most people were respecting the social distancing rules. We had a warm welcome from everyone we met and we bought lots of things from the local shops (birthday cards, sausages, and an assortment of fruit and veg). I was overjoyed when my partner bought me some jewellery from Celtic Jewellers for our anniversary. The lady in the shop was patient, knowledgeable and absolutely lovely The shop was full of beautiful jewellery (everything you can think of) which was very reasonably priced. We will be returning in the next month to have a Christmas gift made by Jeff's jewellers and possibly something else from Celtic Jewellers (if I am lucky).

Quality price assortment in good relationship I recommend it and I can say that I have been attending it for years friendly and prepared staff always attentive to quality and service excellent fruit and vegetables with excellent prices

They do a decent breakfast here, so much so it gets really busy at times and can be quite a wait for your food. The last time I went thought it was strange that I couldn't have scrambled eggs but could have fried or poached especially as there was 30 minute wait for food lol!

I have eaten here twice and on both occasions the staff have been welcoming and friendly. It's a great place for breakfast (for the full English or just tea and toast). The cafe area is very clean and spacious.

My Wife and I visited the cafeteria for a Vegetarian breakfast and it was perfect. It's a place I often visit on my own for a cup of tea and a scone but today we were in the area so I took her for the breakfast. Staff are friendly and the place is clean.

Yet again went to Morrison’s to buy costa coffee lattes......yet again their out of stock. Don’t know why i waste my time there anymore as the shelves are ALWAYS empty. They must have had a refrigerator breakdown too as one aisle was covered with wet floor signs puddles and sodden mats.

Lovely staff here and always goes through several options of what you can have I usually get the biggest breakfast there and it easily feeds myself and children and good value for money

I live locally and often use this Morrisons to get a good breakfast. Usually quick at the tills, friendly staff, clean cutlery and decent portions of not too greasy grub. Coffee ain't bad either.

A typical Morrisons cafe all usual facilities the main difference is the fantastic friendly staff. Highly recommended.

There aren’t that many good breakfasts in the area, but for the price, you can’t go wrong here. Good portion size and decent quality. Staff always friendly. It isn’t greasy, and it is always made to order and piping hot.

called there for an afternoon meal, the staff were friendly and the food was good, The floor in the restaurant was slippery however, which I pointed out, the staff informed me they had taken this matter up with the cleaning staff, as it appears the cleaning products used were causing it to be slippery. I will be using this venue again

Had a three hundred mile trip home to do, and so we went to morrisons for breakfast.Had a bit of trouble getting to the store as the town is being ripped up, until Oct 2018.Ordered one big (with black pudding) and one little breakfast, it was delicious and plenty of it, if I had no car I could have walked home on the strength of that breakfast.The place was spotless, The staff were really nice. We will be back from north, Eee By Gum, well done Wales.

My teenage son offered to buy me breakfast so we popped into the cafe of our local Morrisons. Its always packed so assumed it would be good. The staff were grumpy and dishevelled. The cutlery was filthy, the tables were covered in 'caked in' food. We asked a staff member if we could clean the table. She eventually came over with a grey dirty cloth and wiped the table flicking food onto our laps. Then stormed off. Wont be eating there again.

This has got to be one of the best shopping centres in the Rhonda cynon taff South Wales the staff and management team are ever so friendly it's well worth you're time to go and enjoying you're days shopping for some great value offers believemeee cheers Kevin

Food was good friendly staff nice clean restaurant I will definitely eat hear again before I shop in the store which is beginning to look very smart.

Centrally located. Disabled toilet facilities. Nice tasting food.This is very popular and in my opinion one of the nicest places to eat. Plenty of clean tables and pleasant staff. There's plenty of room for wheelchairs. High chairs available in the Reseraunte with baby food warming facilities. The location has plenty of parking with access to local shopping if required. A good place to meet if you time it right seating at a table for eight is available. The majority of seating, however, accommodates two or four persons. I've had the flying start breakfast twice, which was tasty and looked great on the plate. Reasonably priced and tasted well, cooked with produce sold in the store I believe!!. I've now eat the flying start breakfast three times now. The most tastiest cooked breakfast around This Reseraunte is better than the other supermarket in the Rhondda Valley. In my opinion it can only be beaten by the opposition in Pontypridd which I feel has a better ambiance.The main drawback is it's access by going around the one way system of Porth and with the bypass you must want to come here!! Nevertheless it always seems busy a sign of a popular place. Don't be surprised if theres a que, to me it's a good sign.
