The lady with glasses was very forgetful but the breakfast was beautiful but it was cold

We found the atmosphere pleasant, also there was enough room for a wheelchair, the service and meals we had were delicious, and the waitress was very pleasant and friendly.

Jan always goes out of her way to help us and make things go a smooth as possible when we bring our autistic child with us, one of the reasons we choose to come to this carvery is simply because of Jan

Been busy last Couple of week but had to call back into my fav place love it

Going to The Fulling Mill is a very "hands off" experience. No one greets you, you seat yourself and then you have the option to order from the till or the app (another disconnecting service we are so often seeing in the modern age purporting to be easier but is just another way of cutting staff numbers and taking away real experience). Any staff interactions here however have always been friendly but unfortunately I won't be returning for a fourth time as everything is quite bland. The atmosphere also leaves a lot to be desired with families allowing their kids to play whatever programme they want from their iPads on full volume. They also need to address the issue of the carvery orders taking place in the restaurant and the takeaway orders. It seems they cannot manage and have one person dedicated to making these up and another carving meat which means that when the takeaways are being prepared the carver and diners have to wait. This could easily be solved - create an area for the person making up take aways to prep the takeaways and put two members of staff on the in house carvery. I never expect too much from a mass produced carvery but have tried a couple of times hoping I'll have my mind changed but everything is quite tasteless. The beef is stringy, the mash barely tastes like potato...the veg drying out and not much choice. It's a shame because as I say the staff are friendly. Once you've tried the roast at pubs like The White Hart (for less money and made with heart), it's hard to find something that really stands up against it. I've also tried pizzas, a burger and fried chicken from here and it was again very bland. It's a real shame as this restaurant by the looks of things seems like it should be great - I suppose it is a chain and these days people are accepting less for what they pay for. This review isn't so much because I believe the restaurant will actually implement improvement (I've seen every single review get a bog standard lip service reply), more to warn others against spending their hard earned cash on this.

Me and my partner went tonight, for a carvery my partner wanted the large and was told there wasn't enough meat so have the traditional and we will give you sausage as extra so we agreed when we went to get our food the lady that was going to serve us told us meat or sausage we tried explaining but no good, with that the manager came over with a young boy and asked if there was enough for a large and was told yes so we said hang on we were told no, her reply yeah he ordered on the app and wants to upgrade to a large,her attitude was disgusting and were told if ur unhappy have a refund, then there was no Yorkshire puddings so had to wait nearly finished our food by the time they came such a shame on the manager as the waiter staff was lovely and the food. While we were eating she was still taking orders and all they were allowed was 2 sausages.

The food was good, and the service was okay in terms of speed. The waiter we dealt with was super friendly and helpful, which definitely made the experience better. However, there were a few small annoyances. The furniture felt a little tired, which took away from the overall atmosphere. There was also some confusion with the menu—the app listed haddock but didn’t mention that it came with chips, so I ended up ordering an extra portion unnecessarily. On top of that, I ordered a salad that was supposed to come with dressing, but it arrived dry, which was disappointing. Overall, it was a decent experience, but a few small details could have been improved.

Standard carvery, beef was a bit stringy but the gammon was lovely. Veg was also good. Very quiet and only seen a few members of staff

The staff at the Fulling Mill have been very welcoming us into the restaurant. The staff on the bar served us really quickly. We both had a salad that were very enjoyable and was never a long wait to get our carvery either.

Absolutely awful food, only had beef , full of fat and the queues are awful, only 1 person carving the meat, they are most interested in the take away food loads of staff on that department

Went to a wedding here in they function room service was fantastic they brought all food to us and drinks would highly recommend staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was to much bother for them

Had our wedding reception here today (5th February 2025) staff couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much , our cake was kept there over night and set out ready for us, staff helped take all decorations down after which was amazing for us, thank you everyone involved

First time visiting Fulling Mill. The food wasn't too great, we had carvery and you could see food had been standing a while. Turkey was nice and green beans, but that was it, unfortunately.

Absolutely terrible, no meat at all available in the carvery for almost 1 hour. Led to horrendous queues when food arrived

Food was decent (as decent as a carvery can be) and value for money if you love veg and mash. Partner had a veggie burger which she says was exceptionally ordinary. Never have any complaints. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

A lady called Jan (wearing glasses) served us at the till. She went out of her way to explain to us how the app works and was extremely friendly. She is an asset to Stonejouse and I hope she gets recognised for all her hard work.

Recommend Stonehouse tonypandy. The service is outstanding, it’s the only place we can take our little boy who’s coeliac and dairy free. They are definitely worth visiting.

Always fab service staff respectful and helpful can’t fault the service

We loved everything about our visit, the staff were friendly, the food was great and the service didn't take too long even though they were busy. As a family filled with neurodivergents (and some sen disorders) it was appreciated when we were given the back room to avoid being surrounded by too many strangers. Staff also went above and beyond to make sure one of the little ones in our group (who struggles with ARFIDs) had exactly what he would eat even though it wasn't on the menu. We'll definitely be back again.
