Fulling Mill Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery in Rhondda Cynon Taf

My food was mainly ok. The roast potatoes were a bit crispy apart from that the rest was fine. My wife's Hawaiin pizza had hardly any cheese, pineapple and nearly half the ham had fat on it. The Upper Boat Inn Pontypridd is better.

The woman that served me Janet amazing woman very polite always got a smile on her face and so friendly 😊

Booked a table on the app for arrival at 1330 there was no meet and greet at the door to confirm booking just a sign say take a seat. Options to order on the app or pay at the bar there was a slow moving qué at the bar so decided to order using the app from the table Ordered and confirmed the order via email and payment taken from the table drinks turned up in good time from ordering process 2 x starters of beer battered mushrooms turned up approximately 35 minutes after ordering while our two friends starters did not turn up and they had to sit and watch people on the table eat. We aproched the bar to ask about where the food was as some of the party had waited 45 minutes for a starter that had not turned up the response from the bar was "did you order at the bar or the app" Having ordered from the app we were greeted with the response that ah we've been inundated with app orders The 2 final starters turned up approximately 55 minutes after ordering and 2 of the party had finished mains and starters before the rest of the table The food that arrived was disappointing to say the least which is probably for the best the Philly cheese burger looked nothing like it did on the menu There wasn't any approach to the table by staff to update us on the food and it's time to be served We noticed on the menu that there was bottomless ice cream which when looked at the machine was not working and the topping bar was empty When asking the staff member behind the machine if it was working the staff member who had head chef on the uniform was on his phone and shrugs and said I don't know and went back on his phone Overall a very disappointing visit to the establishment

Waitress was lovely. We left an awful mess with 2 young children. Only criticism of food, roastie hard and cold and mash not like it used to be.

Waited 45 minutes after the other 2 people on our table ate their starters for ours to arrive. Now they have eaten their mains we are STILL waiting for ours! We both ordered exactly the same time. Watching the bar staff is comical they have no idea what they are doing. All headless chickens the lot of them. The burgers are also shocking! Do not buy. Dreading ours arriving. If you can't handle app ordering remove it! If this happened in my pub I'd sack all the staff and start over.

Deliveries are poor, meat is full of fat and veg is cold. Staff are ignorant and its gone expensive. Nothing nice about it, gutted.

As always our server jan was absolutely amazing gave us such a warm and friendly welcome and nothing was to much trouble for her, jan was very helpful and gave us background information of the Stonehouse rewards app and showed us how to use it. Lovely food, bit of a wait for the carvery, but the poor girl was on her own. Children's chicken nuggets were lovely and fresh and so was the Burger. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

The staff at the Fulling Mill have been very welcoming us into the restaurant. The staff on the bar served us really quickly. We both had a salad that were very enjoyable and was never a long wait to get our carvery either.

OMG, not been for awhile since my last feedback - everything has improved so much, including the grub, delicious is this week’s word, yum yum. Jan and team makes the difference where nothing is an issue. I must say though, I prefer Jan’s previous hair colour, but still bang tidy!

We come here regularly. Sometimes it is a little bit of a wait if you come at peak times but the at to be expected from any food establishment. One thing you’re guaranteed here is very nice food and friendly staff.

Lovely food fab service well done

Going to The Fulling Mill is a very "hands off" experience. No one greets you, you seat yourself and then you have the option to order from the till or the app (another disconnecting service we are so often seeing in the modern age purporting to be easier but is just another way of cutting staff numbers and taking away real experience). Any staff interactions here however have always been friendly but unfortunately I won't be returning for a fourth time as everything is quite bland. The atmosphere also leaves a lot to be desired with families allowing their kids to play whatever programme they want from their iPads on full volume. They also need to address the issue of the carvery orders taking place in the restaurant and the takeaway orders. It seems they cannot manage and have one person dedicated to making these up and another carving meat which means that when the takeaways are being prepared the carver and diners have to wait. This could easily be solved - create an area for the person making up take aways to prep the takeaways and put two members of staff on the in house carvery. I never expect too much from a mass produced carvery but have tried a couple of times hoping I'll have my mind changed but everything is quite tasteless. The beef is stringy, the mash barely tastes like potato...the veg drying out and not much choice. It's a shame because as I say the staff are friendly. Once you've tried the roast at pubs like The White Hart (for less money and made with heart), it's hard to find something that really stands up against it. I've also tried pizzas, a burger and fried chicken from here and it was again very bland. It's a real shame as this restaurant by the looks of things seems like it should be great - I suppose it is a chain and these days people are accepting less for what they pay for. This review isn't so much because I believe the restaurant will actually implement improvement (I've seen every single review get a bog standard lip service reply), more to warn others against spending their hard earned cash on this.

Me and my partner went tonight, for a carvery my partner wanted the large and was told there wasn't enough meat so have the traditional and we will give you sausage as extra so we agreed when we went to get our food the lady that was going to serve us told us meat or sausage we tried explaining but no good, with that the manager came over with a young boy and asked if there was enough for a large and was told yes so we said hang on we were told no, her reply yeah he ordered on the app and wants to upgrade to a large,her attitude was disgusting and were told if ur unhappy have a refund, then there was no Yorkshire puddings so had to wait nearly finished our food by the time they came such a shame on the manager as the waiter staff was lovely and the food. While we were eating she was still taking orders and all they were allowed was 2 sausages.

The food was good, and the service was okay in terms of speed. The waiter we dealt with was super friendly and helpful, which definitely made the experience better. However, there were a few small annoyances. The furniture felt a little tired, which took away from the overall atmosphere. There was also some confusion with the menu—the app listed haddock but didn’t mention that it came with chips, so I ended up ordering an extra portion unnecessarily. On top of that, I ordered a salad that was supposed to come with dressing, but it arrived dry, which was disappointing. Overall, it was a decent experience, but a few small details could have been improved.
