Morelli's to Go! in Coleraine

Joined a long queue outside premises for hot food and only discovered when we got to the top of it that they were serving ice cream only after 6. Other families turned away also. Be a much better idea to have a sign outside to explain.

Great choice in both flavours and hard and soft ice cream but prices have upturned since last summer!

Visited here with a few family members, overall ice cream was good but the standard of service was very poor making the Morelli’s experience disappointing. I’m assuming the lady with the blond hair, wearing no uniform (apron) or hair net, walking about with keys hanging from her (displaying a safe key); “isn’t very security conscious”, is the manager/supervisor; not customer orientated in the slightest. I felt when asking her about the flavours she was annoyed and had no patience and just wanted me out of the “road”. I imagine that customer service isn’t at the fore front of this business as they get the footfall anyway and don’t have to provide any level of service, shame really as I remember visiting the “old Morelli’s” back in the day during the 80’s, it was a very personal place then. However the ice cream was good just the service let the experience down.

Brilliant choice of ice cream and plenty of options including sliders and nougat wafer. Our friend has a cashew nut allergy and her choice of nougat wafer was prepared separately. Most reassuring. Many thanks. This popular brand has expanded in the last few years. Delighted, as far more people can enjoy the amazing icecream. I had coffee and honeycomb in a medium wafer from the wide selection. It was absolutely delicious. The young staff were completely charming too. On another occasion I will sit down and have the biggest sundae the parlour makes. For another time!

I’ve been a fan of Morellis for the best part of half a century and thought that I had tasted all that the famous brand had to offer. Recently a friend who lives in Portstewart suggested that I try the whipped ice-cream that is exclusive to the happy little shop ‘Morellis to go’. Stepping inside the bright, happy little shop is like stepping into an Italian gelateria. The tiny little shop festooned with its vibrant murals and brightly coloured furniture bears testimony to its rich Italian heritage. This shop is all about ice cream. Look closely and a little way behind the myriad of ice-cream, smiling at you from the cabinets, and you will see a simple little nondescript machine that churns out the most delicious homemade ice cream. Clearly the whipped ice-cream is a secret that the locals like to keep for themselves. Seems I was especially lucky to be there on a day (and several times since) when the whipped Ice Cream had been made with award winning abernethy butter. Be warned - you will want to return many times to this fabulous gelateria.

I make it a point to try ice cream in all the countries we visit. We have traveled around the globe and this is by far one of the very best ice creams I have eaten. I always get plain vanilla so I can be sure to truly taste the ice cream and be able to compare with other countries. This ice cream is so good - it is worth a trip back to Ireland!

Great selection of home-made ice cream. Every flavour you could want and all delicious. Newly renovated. Staff very pleasant and welcoming

Love Morelli’s. A delicious ice cream cone to take onto the prom and enjoy as you chill. Doesn’t get any better.

We called in here one wet August evening, after seeing that the cafe was full. I had a cone with two scoops of ice cream, chocolate for one and caramel for the other. Both flavours were delicious. There was a good range of flavours. If we are in the area again we will return.

My wee one would give Morelli's 1000 out of 5. What more is there to say? We also visited the one in Ballycastle. Great choice and flavours.

Had tiramisu at Morelia on a previous occasion & it was absolutely delicious. However on a visit to celebrate s family birthday the tiramisu ordered was the worst I’ve ever tasted. So disappointing. Coffee at the bottom of the glass was the only recognition this was tiramisu. The remainder of the dessert was ice cream only. Quite nice but not what I’d ordered. We found the staff prepared the tiramisu in an exceptionally quick time with no effort. The staff were disinterested and rushing. Made us feel that we were a nuisance. Won’t be going back to Morelies.

Having taste tested and size tested the whole promenade it is my opinion that morellis to go is the best take away ice cream. Excellent choice of flavours, big portions and the take card (even for small amounts). This has to be the place you get your ice cream from..

Morelli’s ice cream is the best I have ever tasted. I chose peach yoghurt and strawberry, but all flavours seemed good

A great place to indulge in an ice cream. I would imagine there is a flavour to suit everyone. A good range of sizes to choose from too.

We found Morelli's in every town we visited on the Causeway Coast, but this was the first one we went in and it made a big impression - very good ice cream indeed, and the serving staff couldn't have been more friendly

This family-owned business (3rd generation) is run with loving care. The staff is friendly and efficient, the owner is charming -- took time to chat with us even when it was closing hour after a very busy day. I should not admit this but we got dessert there every night for a week... !

I am not trying to be over the top here, and I don't want to think I am biased because I was having a really great day that day, but I do honestly believe this might have been the best chocolate ice cream I have ever had in my life. I am quite the chocolate ice cream eater and I have very high expectations for chocolate ice cream, but this was crazy good - I mean, this was honestly incredible. Do not miss this place!

My mum and I have visited here quite a bit over the summer. Never had any problems with staff. They've always been polite. The ice cream is fab! Couldn't fault it. The only thing is it can get a bit crowded when ordering as there's different flavours at each side.

Always a queue in summer but good ice cream, so worth the wait, always have a waffle cone and two scoops..delicious.

Sólo después de los otros miembros del personal señaló el error hizo entonces corregir el precio y continuar a tirar el cambio en mí. No me ofrecieron ninguna disculpa.. Lamentablemente no fue gerente de la tienda en el tiempo para el informe, pero otros clientes salimos después de ver su actitud. Esto es una lástima ya que el helado es de una calidad fantástica y un precio razonable. Personal deficiente puede dañar un negocio. . Este miembro del personal. y fue horrible.

i have been here quite a few times now and I haven't been let down yet.i recently found out you have started to do a few sundaes and one time I tried your after eight sundae which was yummy.

Staff are very helpful and the ice-cream is yum! It is clean and well-maintained. Make sure that you have the Belgium chocolate!

Got ice cream for 4 people. All was lovely. The staff, all young girls were pleasant enough when serving us but all were laughing at someone in shop which was rather inappropriate and bad mannerered.

Visit here most weeks . From coffee/traybake , to main meals , I really rate Morellis . Location is great , and a window seat is super if your lucky enough to get one . Staff very pleasant

Delicious! Best ice cream we have ever had, reasonably priced too. The staff were very friendly. Let us try a couple different kinds before we made our choices. We went there two days in a row while we were staying in Portrush. They were quite busy, but it was definitely worth waiting in line. :)

We visited on 3 occasions during the NW200 race week and each time I was able to have a different dairy free homemade ice cream or sorbet. My favourite was the whipped apple sorbet or maybe the vegan chocolate but then again the mango and orange sorbets were amazing too! In short everything was very very good. The range of 'normal' ice creams looked lovely as well with a wide selection of flavours. The shop is bright, immaculately clean and very welcoming. Shop staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. We will be back next year for sure!!

Beautiful little Ice cream Parlour, whilst might I add this is not a Restaurant the selection of ice cream is plentiful, long wait but it was a busy. Looks clean and will stop by next time for my chocolate ice cream fix.

Morellis have been on the prom at portstewart seemingly forever. The ice cream is as good as ever, and perhaps surprisingly, not seriously overpriced.

lovely place to meet friends, overlooking the sea. Cakes, coffee, ices etc. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

As the title states, Ice cream at the seafront what more can children want? Morelli's do what it says on the tin - Ice Cream - and they do it particularly well.

Been coming here for a lot of years... 80s/90s as a child, 00s as a student and more recently as a grown up (we'll sort of).. Morelli's is a Portstewart institution. Great ice cream at an affordable price. I usually get the honeycomb but today opted for the honey whisky.. Amazing. It was really really good.This place is very special and well worth a visit. The shops, cafes, restaurants and bars up and down the prom may change many times over but I hope this mainstay of the north coast is around forever.

Stopped in for 3 small cones, over £5 which is pricey. That said the scoops were more like medium size and the salty caramel I had was one of the most delicious ice creams I have had for a long time and that includes many I have had in Italy. So not cheap but top quality.If you have a chance look at the new seats arranged across the road facing the sea . . . Then notice the one that faces the other way . . .

We had a nut sundae - in my opinion there were far too many hazelnuts in this - we ended up taking about 30 out of the glass just to eat the ice cream which was lovely.

While waiting for our coffee I was rather disturbed by a strange smell, where was it coming from? It reminded of old ladies Sunday coats that had moth balls in the pockets. Speaking to the lady next to me she had remarked about it the previous evening and the smell put her off her meal. The source of the smell ? The trays you place your purchase on. Another thing that gets up my nose is "Table grabbers" people who are not prepared to join the queue and wait until they have made their purchase before seating

Some family members raved about the ice cream and food, but I was not impressed by either. So many artificial colours and flavourings in the ice cream, and the food was average at best.

This business has been running many years with many people returning over the years just for the quality of ice cream. Children Grandparents just love this place.

Popped in here for dessert after having a burger at The Burger Club. Great choice of flavours. My husband and I shared a 2 scoop tub - creme egg and chocolate. Both flavours were yummy. Definitely pop in and have a try, whatever the weather!

We called in here on a warm summer day for one of their world famous ice cream, god they are delicious and worth every penny, they have a great variety which you can mix and match

All the exciting flavours, especially salted caramel and belgian chocolate, the amazing things on offer for allergy sufferers and sorbet options, the beautiful displays, positive, cheerful vibes and best of all the lovely attitude of the staff who are obviously very well cared for and enthusiastic about their jobs! We visit with our kids frequently and every time we have guests from overseas who are never disappointed. We love Morelli's-to-go! xxx

Didn't eat here but stopped off for an ice cream as someone originally from the area every trip back home always has to include an icecream from Morelli's a real taste of home I have travelled to many places but this is still the best icecream I've tasted...fab! Would recommend.

my wife and I plus our husky get ice cream from here on a regular basis...and it's as good as the title of my review. Only draw back in regard to this place is the waiting time...the q can sometimes stretch as far as portrush.....well, it seems that way when your mrs is champion at the bit to get a creamylickous ice cream. Go for it folks,join the q.

To locals, I'm sure this is going to be blasphemy, but their ice cream was only OK. It had a terrible aftertaste of artificial sugar, and the flavors were interesting to put it mildly. I had a burger and chips which was very good, but I've never had more cheese on a burger in my life!

We often take the grand kids to Portrush to the amusements and then on to Portstewart for the only ice ream in town. It has to be Morelli's the only place to go. What ever the weather is doing the ice cream parlour is full. There's always difficulty getting a table. One observation is that there is insufficient staff clearing tables, causing a delay. However a day on the north coast would not be complete without having a Morelli's special.

Excellent and reasonably priced ice cream. A large selection to choose from and friendly fast service.

I can remember going to Morellis when I was much younger and it never disappoints. Fantastic selection of ice cream and it's not too expensive . Well worth a visit if you are in portstewart.

Morelli's isn't short of competition but, with its wide range of flavours, it stands its ground. One grumble, this is more expensive than the Morelli's in Portrush. Slightly bemusing this is the number one place in Portstewart.

They have a good selection of flavours and the staff is friendly. Would add a couple more flavours without milk as not everybody like ice-cream with milk. Maybe a little bit overpriced because of the name. A bit too expensive for my taste.

I always make a habit of calling at this little ice cream outlet any time I'm up in Portstewart with my wife and three boys. I have to say that EVERY time I've visited this outlet the staff could not be more helpful. In fact one of my sons has a peanut allergy and I can tell you that every member of staff regardless of who serves me go out of their way, from washing their scoops to going out the back for a new tub of ice cream, to ensure my son receives nut-uncontaminated ice cream. Full marks to the staff here for their consistent excellent customer care and service - it's a great experience visiting your shop!!

Quite honestly, a trip to Portstewart is not complete without an ice cream from Morelli's! A great range of flavours, keenly priced and served up speedily. Regardless of the weather, this is an absolute must!

Hands down, Morrelli's does the best ice cream in the North. Massive range of flavours, very speedy service and really reasonably priced. One of Portstewart's greatest assets. Their Ferrerro Rocher and Parma Violet flavours are particularly outstanding

Portstewart is the ice-cream capital of Ireland and at the heart of this is the Morelli's 100 year legacy. I love Morelli's to Go, as they have a great selection and are quick to serve and very friendly. It's hard to beat the flavours on offer.

Award winning and justifiably-so. The Vanilla was awesome, and the Honeycomb wickedly good! Kids loved it.

After a walk along the prom it was a welcome treat for the kids. We went here as the main Morelli's shop was queued out the door. Staff were very pleasant and ice cream was delicious.

Perfect for a quick in-and-out on busy nights in Portstewart for something sweet which is a must on a good night, the staff were super friendly and didn't mind indecisiveness on which flavour to get out of their huge range. Great flavours and service!

Loved it, great service, lovely ice cream, good all round. Love the Tunnocks snowball flavour. Didnt have to wait very long, servers were speedy, especially in hot weather when they knew your ice cream was going to melt the moment you left the shop.

After an extremely disappointing visit to another ice cream establishment on the promenade (which ended up in the bin...it was THAT bad!) my husband advised our daughter to try Morelli's as we both love their ice cream. She took his advice and had a tub of chocolate honeycomb ice cream with home made whipped ice cream topped with chocolate sauce. It looked and tasted absolutely delicious and she said that the staff were extremely helpful and friendly ...which was the total opposite of our earlier experience in the other establishment. She is a Morelli's convert now and is already looking forward to her next visit home to have some more...much more! Highly recommended for superb ice cream with a great range of flavours and toppings and full credit to the excellent young friendly counter staff too. Well done Morelli's!

Loved the quick service and food at this modern cafe. Each day we visited for a ice cream and coffee after dinner. Some days we had lunch here the home made soup is delicious. There was a lots of people coming and going with plenty of seating. Enjoy a lunch or a desert here with a lot of variety.

What can I say - every time I come to the North Coast I have to have a Morelli's ice cream. I am never disappointed.Best icecream ever!

It is nice, but I have to disagree with most of the other reviewers, I have had better. Too much emphasis on fancy names and colours, too little on flavour.

As a youngster many many years ago Morelli's icecream was always a highlight to Portstewart & Portrush. Coming back nothing has changed and it is still the best in NI, worth the trip try it.

Great place, food perfect, and then those large ice creams , Yummmmmmmy So give a try next time your in town.

Popped in for ice cream on a hot day in June. Reasonably priced. Good ice cream. Various flavours. Good service. Clean premises. Worth a visit if you like ice cream.

Morellis to Go is just one of those places you HAVE to visit :0) the flavour choices, the quality of the ice cream and the really lovely staff (always ready to smile even after a long day) make it a highlight of our family visits to Portstewart. They even do an ice cream cart for outside events I think? Mango Sorbet is our daughter's favourite. We continue to try all of the other scrummy flavours (for research purposes!) but have yet to settle on a favourite. Very child friendly & quality coffee too.
