New Society in Coleraine

We hadn't been in this restaurant for years. Called today and had French Toast, Bacon & Maple Syrup. Cost was £7. Food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient.

Good range of lunchtime cafe food and a selection of breakfasts for all tastes. The girls are great for front of house service and nothing is too much trouble. So many places serve weak, cheap, or simply poor coffee, but the coffee at Cafe Society is well extracted and full-bodied, so we normally have a second cup. Check it out - you won't be disappointed.

We visited for lunch before a trip to Giant’s Causeway. We were warmly welcomed and presented with a fabulous menu. The food was absolutely superb with our daughter stating her cheese toastie was ‘the best I’ve ever had’! Lovely ambiance, friendly and accommodating staff and so would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fabulous lunchtime experience.

Came across by accident and so glad we did. Only had scone but came with cream and jam which was a lovely surprise Coffee excellent too. Service excellent and easy to pay - will definitely be back for something more substantial when next in Coleraine

The food here is absolutely delicious. It is not the trendiest or fanciest place but the food speaks for itself. I was in recently and had a delicious chicken potato and pepper dish and it was just yummy and like everything reasonably priced. The staff are cheerful and helpful and the service is always quick.

This small, querky, cafe is located very close to both free & prepay parking in Coleraine Town Centre. It has an eclectic menu but chef is ready to vary from menu to suit clients. Staff are very friendly & hospitable, always trying to please. Music is background so conversation easy. Use local produce and everything freshly cooked to order. Great value.

Amazing place. Staff so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I am vegan and they were so attentive to make sure I had a good feed. Both food and coffee was sublime.

Brunch is a consistent treat at New Society. My youngest Son’s first trip back home with me and he was keen to try an Ulster Fry. No better place for the purpose. Service with a smile, great food and great value.

We had just arrived in Coleraine after a long drive from the Mournes and were just taking a short walk towards the town centre when we spotted New Society. The door was open and people were inside for a late breakfast or perhaps elevenses. In we trotted and sat down. The menu on display was excellent. The welcome we received was magical. I must say the French Toast (sourdough, bacon, lashings of maple syrop) was the best I've ever tasted). All the stress of the drive vanished in minutes as we enjoyed some of the best prepared food around, and in such welcoming surroundings. I promised the staff that I would write them a review on Trip Advisor - and here it is (sadly a week or so later than planned). They are three very special people and they deserve Olympic gold medals for the fantastic job they are doing! We will definitely go back to New Society the next time we're up in Coleraine!

It's a dead on cosy wee place, but they certainly know how to charge.....for a fry that would fit into a small bap, a few scrambled eggs with bacon & toast 3x coffee I got little change from £25... As nice as it was, it wasn't worth the money, you could go to a greasy spoon and get 3x as much for a fiver, tea & coffee comes well before the food, meaning your going to certainly need a refill to the tune of an extra few quid. I certainly won't be in a hurry back, def not at them prices, you could get a steak dinner and a pint in a Wetherspoons for the price of a fry....

Real pity hygiene was poor. Young staff used cloth to dry dishes then wipe down coffee machine..rub her hands but other staff collect spoons from the blade and set down..ess not impressed.

This is a great place to get breakfast. The food is lovely and there is usually a nice buzz that permits open conversation. The best thing is the selection of breakfast dishes available. They are not afraid to think outside the box and the result is you get magnificent choice of sometimes surprising offerings. Pleasant staff who can't do enough for you. I highly recommend New Society.

Often use this cafe for lunch meeting and have not had a bad meal EVER. Great combinations and excellent flavours. Highly recommend you try if in the area.

Visited this cafe today at lunch time. Only 2 other customers whom the staff seemed to know and we had to listen to one of the staff talking to the couple and the other staff at the top of her voice about her pregnancy and holidays. I had soup which was very average and the Wheaton bread was really dry. Have been here before and always found this cafe to be well run and the food good. After today's experience I won't be back.

I like tasty unique fresh cooking, just like I had today. I will post a couple of photos to help you. What you see is what you get, being my favorite coffee house and the breakfasts that are second to none. What I had today was such a surprise Avocado (you must be having me on) TASTY the best about about New Society nothing is too much bother, if you don't wish to have anything in particular they will help to change it to your needs or liking

A bit expensive and no heating on, despite it being zero degrees outside. The coffee was OK and they seem to have an interesting menu, but I can't comment on that as I only had a scone. The young lady serving was very pleasant. All in all, I think that they should be commended for building what seems like a successful local business in these difficult times.

This place does great food, great atmosphere inside and friendly staff.

We heard about this cafe from the Taste Causeway Festival booklet and went to look for it. The menu and specials were interesting and the local ingredients were appropriately credited. We enjoyed the dishes we ordered and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and cooking

New Society breakfast is made to please with the likes of scramble eggs with smoked salmon on toasted bread of your choice, omelette as you want it as there is a vast selection, smoked cheese with ham and mushroom or curitso mushroom and onion. My father in-laws favourite is the Ulster fry and a pot off Belfast tea. Food is one thing as it can be the very best but unless you have cheerful staff who attend to you with a warm smile and nice banter in my opinion both complement each other.

Great breakfast and excellent service. Set just off the main square (the diamond) it’s well worth the amble. We got the Irish breakfast with potato scone and soda bread and it was excellent and plentiful. Great pot of tea to wash it down. From looks of menu they also do some excellent lunches too. Would thoroughly recommend.

Always call in here for lunch when we're in Coleraine. Love it

Couldn't think where to go for a lovely breakfast , parked in Coleraine and walked towards the town centre - new society at the corner cane into view , I have been here before and the coffee is just lovely . I ordered latte and a special off the board , sour dough bread / avocado / poached egg/ chorizo and chilli jam , try it to die for however I will have the chilli jam on the side as my mouth was so warm , it was soooo nice the whole dish !! Try it . Staff were fab , chatty and friendly .

Gluten free food is absolutely no problem and the quality Is excellent. For the calibre of food served it is reasonably priced. Only wish that I had discovered it ages ago. I reckon this could become a regular haunt.

I think the title of the review says it all the food in this establishment is fantastic and the fact they do so many different combinations leaves something fur everyone through staff are friendly and the price is fair. Love to go here for pancakes and French toast!

Busy little place at top of New Row and Society Stree (hence the name). Have been several times. The food is well cooked, freshly prepared and of high quality. There is a varied menu and load of daily special options. Little bit more expensive but well worth the extra pennies. Staff pleasant and helpful and have never been put under any pressure to leave - even when last customer at 4.30 on Friday afternoon.

Visited this restaurant on a Thursday for lunch and on arrival the bottom floor was full. That said, it is not a large restaurant. This was chosen off trip advisor as we were on a day trip, so we have no first hand recommendations. The lunch was great, the service fast and efficient and the price was good. In my opinion the price we paid for our meals was very good value and it didn't disappoint. Bear in mind this is a small restaurant and the menu is not extensive but what is served, is good, very good. Will be back.

They have imaginative delicious dishes in here and the service is very good. If you are alone, they will have a newspaper for you to read. They are creative with their menus. A good place to go in Coleraine.

Whether its breakfast, brunch or lunch New Society does it all with great tea and coffee. Daily specials and soup on the menu. Parking usually widely available nearby.
