What a disappointing visit. No cod or pizza available despite being on the menu. 2 glasses of Coke arrived completely flat. Waited 25 minutes for food when it was quiet. No baby changing facilities available, asked at reception and was told to use the toilets in the hall, men’s and woman’s, no baby changing in the men’s. Sanitizer empty at the men’s toilets, also empty on the entrance to Leonas, (now located in the bar area of the hotel, very cold and not what you would expect a tea room to look like). Very very expensive. Top hat £2.70??? Food was very poor quality. Frozen chips and goujons from lynas. At the prices they charge this is not acceptable.

When ordering tea and coffee with a meal remember to ask for it to b brought along with the meal. Otherwise you will receive it first and it will be cold and stewed before your meal arrives 30 to 45 minutes later!! (A toastie). When we mentioned to the staff about cold tea and coffee we were told they don't ask the customer if they want it WITH their meal, it's up to the customer to ask.

Visited Leona’s for brunch with my parents and children on our first meal out since lockdown. All of the Covid procedures in place were very reassuring - hand sanitiser, tables spaced apart, staff in visors. We had a selection of meals from the breakfast menu and all were delicious. It was all so good we rebooked for lunch a few days later. Although it was busy at lunchtime staff were very attentive and we didn’t wait long for our food. All food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely little spot. The food, service and decor is much superior to that if rivals Panky doos and Dora’s. Only thing is I would like to see a bit more option on the menu. Like chips with the burgers. The selection of traybakes are fantastic. Reasonable price for the size. From all of the bread and cakes that I have had they have indeed been excellent. I would return and I do visit every other week.

We stumbled across this place by accident, really we were just looking for somewhere to shelter from the rain! We were pleasantly surprised by Leona's Tea Room, the staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere. It was mid morning so we just had coffee and scones which were delicious but we definitely hope to return for something more substantial.

Two light lunches in Leona's. Vegetable soup and wheaten bread provided a very filling and delicious meal - the soup was the best I've had , just like I would make ....! Wheaten bread also excellent. Next day potato and leek soup much enjoyed by my husband . The cheese and pickle sandwich very well filled and tasty. Husband asked for a half strength cappuccino, and was brought a mug of frothed milk with separate expresso shot in little jug so he could make to taste. Exceptional service. Both visits gave a very pleasant experience.

Called in here for coffee/tea and buns one day. Although the interior of the cafe is extremely inviting the atmosphere was lacking. The buns we got were unfortunately dry and tasted as if they had been sitting on the display counter for a while. However, we got a great pot of tea which was served in a very large teapot, helpful when pouring numerous cups of tea. All in all, food and service was ok. Unlikely to be back.

Looked at the menu and ordered afternoon tea for 2 but we were told afternoon tea needed to be booked in advance (the waitress did check this with the kitchen staff but came back and told us it needed to be pre booked). I feel if this is the case it shouldn't be on the menu you are given to order from. However we then ordered a prawn salad each and these were delicious. Superb selection of fresh sandwiches and traybakes on offer. As for the service, just excellent, welcoming and helpful. The setting is just excellent and so relaxed. Now for the "piece de resistance", I had booked mentioning it was my Mother's birthday, so when the two ladies who served us sidled out with a brownie with a candle singing Happy Birthday, my mother's day was made. This is a hidden treasure! Our waitress was wonderful and I wish I had got her name to give her a special mention. I had a salad which rivals the best of the best, however my husband had a Panini with bacon which he said was mediocre with very fatty bacon, so he was lass then impressed. However the tray bakes are wonderful and made up for the less than impressive Panini. All in all this is a wonderful find for us and we will be back very soon. Leona's is a major transformation of the previous coffee shop on this site. We were nearly caught out as they do not take credit cards but, otherwise, our visit was 5-star all round. We were warmly welcomed and presented with the extensive menu shortly after we sat down. The decor is modern and of good quality - nothing tacky here. Tables have linen tablecloths and the crockery is of a good quality.Tables are cleared as soon as they are vacated. Staff are excellent. We just had coffee and scones. These were delicious as were the jam and chutney which we had as accompaniments. The toilets were very clean and presentable. This is undoubtedly one of Northern Ireland's best coffee shops - if not the best. Well, where to start. I'm, ashamed to say I've coming to Leonas for a fair few years, and I've never reviewed it. Call me selfish? Maybe. Now I'm righting that. First off, you can park. That's a bonus in Portrush, although to be honest when I was around a couple of weeks ago I walked; because I needed the exercise. But when I have elderly relatives with me, parking is a winner. The place, a mix of tables and chairs, and low sofas with tables. Food is either in a display cabinet (cream things) or on the counter. You sit and there is table service. you can also get a carryout facility - a blessing when you are on your own like me, or fancy something for the freezer. Things I have had:Baked potato: Baked in an oven - crispy skin with tuna, onion and salad- was gorgeousCoffee: very goodHerbal tea: decent selection and served really hot so it gets to infuse properlyTraybakes: the flakey biscuits and shortbread are good enough for me to carry a couple of packets homeIrish stew: not the first time I've taken this as a carryout..... to heat at home.Scones aren't my thing but I've sat with others who have demolished pear and pistachio, fruit, cheese, all sorts.... you get butter, jam and cream,I'll confess, I have gazed at the big cakes that you buy per slice, but I've never given in, I might yet.Everything is homemade, and is gorgeous.Staff?A warm welcome for everyone, and if you are back you are recognised and welcomed again. When I was there last it was so busy I offered my table to share with a group of folk... turns out they had been coming as long as I had!

Had the pleasure of experiencing afternoon tea WOW! Fabulous choice of scones so fresh and tasty, wide range of finger sandwiches but my favourite was the cakes and tray bakes, have a sweet tooth so found them all irrestible! Staff couldn't do enough very friendly had a big pot of tea and a pot of hot water but asked if we would like a top up. Can't wait to go back :)

This tea room is attached to the hotel. The staff were excellent and the array of fresh baked goodies was spectacular. Really spoiled for choice.

Service and food both excellent. We had coffee and a scone. The scones were of good size and very tasty. We also bought a coffee cake to take home. The two people who served us could not do enough for you.

It's a bit out of the way situated at the Magheraboy House Hotel, but please do make the effort to go. You will thoroughly enjoy it. Especially for morning coffee and scones, it's by far the best. The waitresses are just so friendly and the food so good. Everything is home baked and it shows. Great for disabled access too, with really easy parking at the door.

lovely little tea room just outside Portrush. the cakes and scones are simply delicious, the only reason for the average grade was the price. I feel there is similar tea rooms offering the same delicious cakes in the area at a more competitive price. otherwise a very nice place to stop for a wee cuppa tea

My partner, baby daughter and I visited thus little tea room in early August and were impressed overall with the service and food. After a nice lunch of wraps and salad, we decided to have a traybake each but worked it out cheaper to buy a packet of traybakes (pk of 5) than it was to buy one each. Granted the traybakes in the pack were smaller but to be honest they were just enough to satisfy the need for something sweet after lunch! We lifted the pack of 5 and had them with our tea. At the end of the meal we went to pay the bill and explained to the staff what we had done. The staff didn't even comment on this and just added it to the bill! The only down side to this little cafe was that they don't accept card payments and I had to walk right through the hotel including the bar and unused rooms which were freezing and smelled old and stale to pay in reception! Overall though this was a nice experience and i have since gone back with my family that were visiting from Carrickfergus.

I love this place! It's great value and child friendly! Meet here often for coffee, lunch and too many beautiful buns with friends! The girls are friendly and so accommodating! Parking available right at the door which is so handy especially in a town that doesn't have great parking options! They have recently extended their menu choices too which is an excuse to visit more often!! Great value!

We were there 3 days in a row last week. The place was very clean, efficient, very friendly and helpful staff. Coffee was very good, the cakes excellent as was the ice cream. The prices were completely acceptable. The last day there was a tall blonde lady working I have seldom seen anyone so effective, efficient and friendly. All the staff were brilliant. Anytime we are in portrush we will definitely be visiting Morellis Portrush
