Morelli in Coleraine

We were out for a family day out along the north coast the kids wanted a ice cream before we headed home we found hairs in our ice cream staff were very rude won’t be back!

We stopped off here as we parked outside for lunch and it would have been rude not to sample the ice cream here. And we were delighted with the taste explosion from this ice cream

Beyond divine - try Pistachio and Turkish Delight. Reputation well justified. Would definitely go there again

Morellis is an institution and rightly so! Great ice cream, friendly staff and quick service. Quite expensive but definitely worth a visit

Not been in Portrush in 35 years, popped in for a post burger dessert, wow, truly great gelato, very enjoyable, maybe their ice cream (double cream vanilla and chocolate, chosen, about 16 flavours available) is more creamy than that made in Italy, but equal to it in every way, good value too, 15 or so outlets in the North East, recommended.

best things still open after 9pm and with asmile,tasty and blenty flavores , cones and cups and tables to be seates

Took the girls back here after many years when I was a lad. The food menu was delicious but the best part was by far the ice creams, worth a visit to Norther Ireland by its self! There is such a great selection and the excitement on the children’s faces when we brought them over. Don’t miss this out on your stay.

Kids and hubby had ice cream I had coffee. Lovely treat to have a nice cup of coffee. Place small but busy.

We came here and enjoyed really tasty ice cream (I went for the honeycomb and Ferrero Rocher scoops - yum!). We were also impressed with the very friendly staff and the clean toilet. There isn't much seating but ice cream doesn't take that long to eat so the turnover was pretty fast. When we went in 2018, their outside menu still listed fresh crepes but the staff member explained to us that they no longer sell them, and that they just do waffles now.

Sun sea and Morelli's. My husband always loves to have an ice cream here. Atmosphere colours treats and view. Spotless clean. We always return. As I have a food intolerance for additives. I never chance having an ice cream. I ordered poached eggs and sour dough toast but helpful waiter said the bread was bought in. I thought it should have labelled ingredients. I had brought my own bread and waiter didn't mind. Lovely pot of tea. Would there be an ice cream without additives? I would love chips if I knew the type of oil used. Nevertheless, I find Morelli's a hot spot especially as we went on a Friday night everyone we saw had an icecream it was a sparkling evening and we had a seat at the window looking over the sea. Who needs Spain when you have Port Stewart on a hot evening and Morelli's.

Morelli's offer a wide range of ice creams which are so yummy. Cheerful staff with quick service as well. One of the best ice cream joints in the town!!

Great range of ice creams and sundaes. Friendly staff. Shame it doesn't do hot food like the one in Portstewart does, but they do do snacks.

As good as ever. Yummy ice cream quick service with a smile from very pleasant staff. Very cheap as well.plenty of flavours of both ice cream and sorbet to choose from. Still the best.

Sooooo much deliciousness under one roof. I’m a real ice-cream-aholic and this place absolutely is my idea of heaven!!!!!!

Just the place to have a coffee and traybake or sample a number of delicious homemade ice creams Sit in or take your ice cream out. I think meals can be bought but as only needing a snack I never took that in.

Having visited here for the first time for ice cream and coffee found it to be quite pricey, but the ice cream was nice would recommend a visit if in the area .

No trip to the North Coast is complete without a visit to Morelli's. Not much else to add really (apart from DOUBLE CREAM VANILLA!)

Called in when visiting Portstewart enjoyed a Hot Fudge Sundea (very indulgent) and Caramel slice. Lots of people enjoying the ice cream. Good comfortable sitting area overlooking the promenade.

We visited to get ice cream to takeaway, my son has a severe nut allergy so visiting ice cream shops can be a bit of a nightmare given that so may ice creams have nuts but the lady on the counter was fantastic she washed the scoop and opened a new carton of ice cream to make sure there was no cross contamination, really put my son at ease, it’s a pity not more places where like this!

Very good ice cream. The good idea to finish the day. A large choice of flavor. Double vanilla is my favorite.

We were lucky enough to get a table outside in the warm sun with views over Portstewart! The ice cream as ever is excellent! Give it a try..you won’t regret it.....

The ice cream here is to die for. My favourite was the double cream vanilla. To top it all they have gluten free cones.

We sort of come to to this beach just so we can walk to town for the ice cream. Love the different flavours and options!

After unsuccessful finding no one in Portrush that served vegan milk finally had an almond latte here, great service, kids loved the ice cream well done

My grandfather used to take me and my two cousins to Morelli's for a slap up ice cream when we went to Portrush for our holidays. We used to watch as the ice cream and jellies were spooned into large glasses and topped with chocolate sprinkles and cherry sauce. We could hardly wait, and the wait was worth it. It was called a knickerbocker glory and I remember it with great affection to this day.

Quick visit to the smaller ice cream shop of the 2 on sunday evening with the kids. Always call in when we're in town. Served by the taller of the two girls that evening. Son ordered the honeycomb cone but it was very runny, something not right with it. The flake wouldnt even stand in it. She scraped it off the cone and back into the tub again !! Same story with another tub ice cream was not sitting was running off the cone. But the girl was intent on handing it to my son with the flake falling out and the cream running everywhere.

As someone who has a dairy intolerance, I was delighted to try the mango sorbet in Morellis, on a hot summer day it was very refreshing. I would recommend it to anyone, also the coffee is very good as well.

Get the Raspberry Ripple! Or all the flavors. The ice cream really was delicious and we are big ice cream eaters. Portrush was a great little town and grabbing an ice cream and wandering around was an excellent activity. Go visit this sweet spot!

Even though it was cold and windy we always stop here for an ice cream when visiting the North Coast. Plenty of flavours for selection and a small cone is excellent value

My friend and I ordered crepes not only did they put the wrong ingredients in our crepes and get the order mixed up but the 'crepes' were actually just large pancakes folded over once similar to ones you can buy in tescos etc NOT fresh or homemade the staff just used the microwave to heat them up. When I told the staff I had received the wrong crepe with the wrong ingredients they said 'oh dear' and didn't offer to make me a fresh one so I decided to order a waffle to see if it would be any better. My appetite was soon spoiled as I saw the staff opening a packet of ready made waffles and put one in the toaster. Why offer crepes and waffles if that's how they are made it's not that difficult to freshly prepare crepes even the stalls at the Christmas markets can manage it.

Walked in and waited at the counter to place our order, and we were ignored by all three members of staff. The woman behind the counter was too busy measuring a piece of cake she was about to cut to even say hello to us, and there were at least two other employees in the doorway of the kitchen who were looking out and saw us and didn’t acknowledge us in any way. After a few minutes of waiting, we gave up and went elsewhere. The shop was not busy so there is no excuse for this disgraceful service.

We visit here every time we are in Portrush - hard to go past the raspberry ripple but there is such a range of flavours and sundaes available. The newly refurbished café is lovely and bright with friendly, young and helpful staff.

Lovely ice cream sundaes, very substantial, I fact I couldn't finish mine! Great if you have a sweet tooth.

This is a delightful ice cream parlour, the pistachio ice cream is wonderful and there are plenty of other great flavours. Service was friendly and quick and prices very reasonable. Hugely better than mass-produced ice cream.

Checked out the swanky new cafe at the port.. superb selection as usual. Our table had a mix of sundaes and waffles, the children were allowed to keep their cup, and the super helpful staff washed them out for us.

Just ordered, and ate a medium icecream ...what can I say lovely staff, helped me decide which one I might like and served up In a tube.... for a medium it was hugh and I loved every spoonful mmmmm

We stopped here for ice creams as, traditionally, when in Portrush Morelli's is the ice-cream 'hot spot!' We each choose different flavours and all enjoyed very much. There was a mountain of ice cream for £1.75 which was excellent value as a single scoop was £1.50! Only downside was, tables outside weren't cleared or cleaned though when I requested this it was immediately tidied. Morelli's is consistently very good homemade Italian ice cream.

Had the obligatory ice cream in Morelli's which was tasty, the service was good too because there was a big queue and we got served in no time. Always a favourite in Portrush

Stopped here for ice cream after our visit to the Giant's Causeway and it was absolutely delicious! We're always on the hunt for good ice cream while we travel and this place was definitely a winner. We had the coconut, cookie dough, and pink panther (raspberry with chocolate and marshmallow) ice cream! They were all amazing! Definitely check this place out for good ice cream in Northern Ireland.

This is a really busy ice cream shop with so many different flavours! Ice cream was absolutely lovely and much needed on a hot day for a walk on the beach nearby.

Took my two grandaughters for treat.Staff very nice to girls and a lovely choice in flavoursThey do different sizes and styles of cone too , the little one had her own small cone and managed it well.,Really good value, yum

The ice cream here is so good, I'd definitely recommend the sundaes, they good value for the amount you get. Service is very quick too. My favourite flavour is Sea Salty Caramel.

Oten travel through Portrush and Portstewart on my way home so where better to stop off for a coffee fix..

THE place to stop for coffee, chat, ice cream and panoramic view - terrific. We have visited many times. The Ulster Fry is excellent - egg, bacon, sausage, soda farl, potato bread and toast. An extremely satisfying meal for any part of the day. If you like icecream, then this is the place for you.

Sunday morning stroll around the town and stopped off for a coffee.The lady serving us was lovely, attentive and genuinely happy to serve us. Coffee was great as was the croissants served warm.Definitely a 10/10 for food and especially for the service.Great to see that customer facing staff isn't a thing of the past and this lady proves that in spades. Well done.

A very small ice cream parlour but brilliant choices and flavours a rather busy ice cream parlour so be prepared to wait but well worth it

I live in Belfast but the hour and a half trip to Portrush is worth it for a tub of Morellis Nutella ice cream. I was actually so disappointed this week when we went up and it was closed on a Wednesday evening- I assume Autumn/Winter opening hours... Still unbelievably good!

They have 2 stores side by side. One for takeaway ice cream and one for eating in. I queued for 15mins inside to be asked was it sit in or takeaway???? Seriously?? When I said it was to sit in they said I was in the wrong line that it was for take out only, funny that as everyone in the line was sitting in so that wasn't clear. Once that was sorted I had the most beautiful banoffee ice cream ever. Well worth the wait. Lots of delicious options on the menu well worth a visit if you have plenty of time to spare. There wasn't that many customers so the wait was a bit much.

We had our annual ice cream before school starts service was good as usual few dirty tables when we went in but a young man cleared the table for us shop was very busy so understand the tables hadn't been cleared, he washed the table down but it was very sticky had to wait a while for our ice cream but that wasn't a problem £24 for 4 ice cream sundaes bit expensive but we always know it's gonna be.

Excellent choices for your perfect ice-cream sundae, a special treat when in the exploring the area however can be expensive for a family.

Having decided to take my grand children to Portrush for the day my daughter in law suggested going to Morelli's for something to eat. Well...... when we went in I ended up clearing the tables to allow the children to sit down. After queueing to order payment had to be cash only, no cards - bearing in mind this is 2016 I found this quite unusal. Whilst the waitresses were very polite and doing what they were obviously told to do, in my mind they were far too young and inexperienced. One waitress would carry out a pizza, after a considerable time a sausage roll would be carried out and this continued until we eventually got 7 children and five adults fed. One of our party was a 13 month old infant and when the mum requested a small bowl of soup for the child she was informed they didn't do small bowls for children and along came a bowl of soup that would have fed two or three children. Now this venue is advertised as family friendly. The children had been promised ice cream but sadly after this experience we opted to go elsewhere for their 'seconds'. Days out like this should be very special days for grandmothers and their grandchildren but sadly this was a nightmare.

really lovely ice-cream, had to ask for extras such as flake, sprinkles etc. service was a bit chaotic with the older lady not really sure what was going on, but the younger girl was prompt and efficient.

What can I say, the ice cream is totally delicious you should definitely drop in if you are nearby and try some of the yummy flavours.

called for an ice cream as we passed on a friends recommendation and ended up taking tubs with numerous amazing flavours home to have with cake and ice cream for our tea as well as the oyster filled with rhubarb and custard ice cream - divine

We were both wearing 'boat shirts' which have the name of our boat and of the Old Gaffers Association and the lass serving us was intrigued. We had a nice chat and when we said we had come from Ballycastle she said she used to cycle there as a child just to have the local ice cream. So she clearly has an interest in her customers and her product!

We had a rather delicious and very competitive experience during our visit To Portrush. Staff is very young, attentive and friendly. They did seem to be under pressure when a large group walked in but they did well.

I prefer the one in Portstewart,. Its bigger, more modern and the menu is for versatile. Ive had ice cream Sundaes, Desserts, Breakfast and Lunch here and its ALL gorgeous! Reasonably priced too!

The family and I called in here for some of their famous ice cream and it was worth every penny, every lick I was in heaven , needless to say we will be calling back

Whilst on holiday in NI, our hosts (my wife's cousin) said we had to visit Morelli's Coffee Shop. All I can say is make sure you are hungry & make sure you have comfy trousers/skirt on! You will be full by the time you leave. Superb range of coffee's, cakes, patisseries - spoilt for choice! You really wont be disappointed! The thing I'd say to watch when looking for an eatery, see how many locals are in there - I know its not easy to tell these days who is local & who isn't but you will get a sense. If its full of locals it must be good!!

A popular and busy place for ice cream lovers coffee and treats and other eats. Use the takeaway next door if you want to walk and like your favourite flavour combinations. Honeycomb and chocolate chip are particularly lickable!!!

Morellis is a Northern Ireland institution! The most incredible ice cream sundaes you could find. Brilliant service and presentation. A must for any visitor!

This ice cream parlour was my favourite place to go. Choice of flavours are fantastic. Lots to choose from. Prices are reasonable. Been here for long time and brings memories of childhood.

A visit to Portrush (or Portstewart) wouldn't be complete without a Morelli's ice cream. Generations of people from the North of Ireland, and the wider diaspora, have their memories of a Morellis. The simplicity of a cone of delicious Morelli’s ice cream is hard to beat. Today there are so many flavours to choose from you will probably need to make several trips. Our favourites are the old staples - vanilla, chocolate and rum & raisin. Best enjoyed walking along the promenade, watching the sunset over Donegal.

I have only one problem with Morelli's. They've too many flavours that I love that it's always a hard one to get it down to 3!The kids love it too and I don't think I would be *allowed* to leave Portrush without going there first.Keep up the good work ;o)

Simply the place to go to for the best Ice Cream on the North Coast. Morellis has a large selection of Ice Cream and over the years I think I've tasted them all and not been disappointed in any of them. My favourite is still the Knickerbocker Glory.Great place for the whole family.

One of Portrush's favourite attractions, their ice-cream is simply delicious & really well priced. No trip to "the Port" is complete without a trip to Morelli's.

Lovely scones & tray bakes but the waffles are a bit rubbery. Good ice cream so lovely for a family snack by the seaside. Very reasonable too.

Beautiful ice cream ,a real treat anytime of year, was just like stepping back in time to our holidays in bygone days, the knickerbocker glories and ice cream cones ,and sundaes ,were a real treat then ,and thankfully something's haven't changed

As a child growing up in 'Norn Iron' a visit to Morelli's was an annual treat. 25 years later bringing my kids for ice cream sundaes continuing the tradition. The restaurant may have been refurbished but the ice creams are still as large & delicious as ever!

I had chocolate honeycomb. This is not italian savour, not even existing. Chocolate should be darker to be appreciated.

A must when in Portrush Italian ice cream. They have diabetic ice cream.....lovely. A few ice cream parlours in the town.

I'm not overly fond of this place, I think it very overpriced. My wife loves it as I think it's part of her pastime. Large selection of ice creams which is their strong point!

Sunday night treat after a meal out is stop by Morelli's in Portrush for a carry out tub - just can't beat it for price, service and taste.

the place was disappointing and there were so many staff behind the bar that were just sitting around. we got our icecream with just a tad of actual icecream and so much cream it was sickly. compared to the other morelli we were so let down.the other thing was that their toilet had a key and 10 locks, so unusual. not going back for seconds.

Fantastic selection, and my wife, son and I went two to three times per week. Awesome service, with great helpings. My favourite was the mint choc chip and turkish delight, but my wife preferred the lemon curd and raspberry cheesecake.

If this place is primarily an ice cream parlor then they should stick to this. We called for a coffee and cakes but my wife wanted a sandwich. She ordered a Ham and Cheese Panini which frankly was a disgrace. The rest of us had crepes.these were not bad but what we paid was a rip off. Service is poor, inexperienced youngsters, no structure. Don't know if this is the norm for Morelli chain, doubt we will find out.

Went as a family as recommended by a local and enjoyed the selections they had, not cheap and only take cash, didn't see much change out of £10. We would go again

It may be famous for ice cream but I found them unappealing and expensive in comparison to other ice cream shops in Northern Ireland. poor selection and nothing special. The staff would also maybe like to smile once in a while.

Three ice creams were sixteen pounds? They were enormous, almost too much. They were lovely. We had to try it, the place is famous.
