Always good to see cafe's with plenty of people in them as it shows they must be good. Morag's was a nice stop off for us whilst we waited for check in time at our hotel. Jacket spuds and fishcakes were ordered from the lovely serving ladies who certainly worked hard whilst we were there. If visiting again, we'd probably choose this place for breakfast also as our hotels offering left a lot to be desired.

We stumbled across the cafe on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon, the high street was empty, nothing was open. There was only one or two tables left, we were welcomed by the young waitress who gave us the menu. We were quickly seen too and ordered food with no problem from the large menu. The food arrived and was plentiful! Big portions and great quality. We shopped from their NC500 merchandise at the back of the cafe too. Would highly recommended and if we are back in Wick, we will pop in.

A good choice traditional style food. I ordered the steak pie and was pleasantly surprised to be presented with a massive plate full. This was no cheap and nasty steak pie either but decent lumps of meat and topped with perfect pastry, we didn’t even wait long. The staff were busy but efficient and they didn’t even complain when a group of cyclist asked to fill up their water bottles, despite being so busy.. The place was clean and I couldn’t find any faults

After Morag throws the menu at you, then in a stroppy over worked way your cuttelry, makes a Very bad mood in the cafe, hard done by staff, smashing and crashing around in frustration, that make you feel guilty... filthy unless you ask for a smelly cloth yourself, then 'not quite right' food served. Shame there's such a bad attitude

Absolutely horrendous experience. We arrived at opening time and asked the two waitresses if we could get food within 20 mins, as we had a boat to catch at John o’groats down the road. They said it would be ok, so we sat down and ordered. Quite a simple order of breakfast rolls and a bacon panini with chips, and one coffee. We then sat there for the next 20 minutes watching the 2 waitresses fuss around said coffee machine without producing anything…eventually we got the coffee (stone cold…no idea what they had been doing to the machine for 20 minutes. At this point, we were worried about missing our boat so asked if we could get our food to takeaway and paid up. Waited another 5 mins and they start bringing the food out on plates, so we repeated we were out of time and needed takeaway. At which a woman I assume to be Morag came out the kitchen, stared us down, then returned to the kitchen briefly. She returned a moment later, with no words, THREW the bag of food at me before storming back into the kitchen cursing. I’ve honestly never been treated like that, especially as we were polite throughout the ordeal. When we got back to our car and ate the food, it was vile. I had one slice of bacon in my whole “bacon panini”. And 12 hours later all 3 of us had stomach issues. Given it was the only thing we had all eaten, we assume it came from this establishment. Disgusting place, disgusting staff - avoid at all costs.

Visited Wick for a hospital appointment and decided to have lunch out. We had previously had coffee at Morag’s so headed for it again. We were met with a friendly face and a menu. Scampi peas and chips and a prawn salad was ordered together with two coffees. Coffees arrived promptly and were good quality. The food arrived shortly after and was served and presented well. The meals were of good quality, hot and good tasty old fashion food. The peas were some form of processed peas but very tasty. The chips were French fries type but again very tasty. The prawn salad was presented well and again full of flavour. The toilets are in need of modernisation but are in keeping with the whole experience of this restaurant. Overall if you are looking for a great old fashioned restaurant that is friendly serves tasty wholesome food and drink then I strongly recommend it.

Unfortunately this was the only place opened to eat in Wick when we visited, and it was horrible. For a start and I suppose they can do nothing about this but you look out onto a derelict building, the interior is cramped, dark and not vey pleasing. We had beef burgers they were so salty and tasteless couldn't eat them, the service was very slow and no one either customers or staff looked happy. It was very disappointing. I think this is a reflection on how Wick has become so sad and desolate over the last 20 years you feel sorry for anyone living there.

Myself, my husband and my elderly mother visited Wick, and decided to grab a takeaway lunch due to Covid-19. Morag's Cafe were advertising takeaway food available and had some seats outside. We had on masks and sanitised our hands before entering. The owner was next door in the seating area and he saw us waiting, he came through to us, looked straight at us, then walked away. We presumed he was going to ask one of the staff to help us; but then the other owner came through looked at us and walked away again. We stood longer but they turned their backs to us, as though we didn't exist. We were disgusted, as our First Minister is asking Scots to stay in Scotland for holidays and support local businesses, but this one obviously wasn't wanting our custom!

Tables (not just ours) dirty, had to ask to be cleaned when food arrived! My milk glass dirty, partners cup of tea was so weak I could see through it. Had to ask 3 times for cutlery and 1 waitress took a break on an empty dirty table straight after asking her for it! We were served about 30 minutes after ordering food and still waited another 5 minutes for cutlery which ended up not the cleanest.

The Fish and Chip Shop is in our experience is without a doubt the BEST IN CAITHNESS AND SUTHERLAND! The fish was white and flakes. fried in beautiful crispy batter and the chips were perfect. We have experienced other Chip Shops in Wick,Thurso and Helmsdale, plus Mobile Chip Vans in Lybsterand Dunbeath and this has been the best so far too. We travelled around 30 miles to eat here and would do so again. THANK YOU.

Très agréable situation entre 2 ballades, service très prévenant. Des plats typiques, abordables. Le top après une journée de tourisme.

After poor experiences in Oban and Fort William this place restored our faith in a Scottish breakfast and hospitality. Great service, even better breakfast made with quality ingredients.

If you’re taking the boat tour on Loch Ness this is where you’ll catch it. If not, it’s still a great pit stop to shop, have a bio break, grab a cold drink (or sample some gin!) and browse the shops. Surprisingly affordable souvenirs here. Stop won’t take long unless this is also your hotel… not sure of value or pricing on those. Great views of the Loch. Be careful of the very busy highway!
