Moose Coffee in Leeds

The staff were incredibly rude and dismissive and the coffee was more like warm milk than coffee, even though I ordered an extra shot. I had a couple of sips, paid for it and left, because life is way too short to drink bad coffee.

Absolutely terrible experience. Waited 45 mins for 2 coffees. Then were told that what we ordered wasn’t available anymore. 1h later our food finally arrived. Pancakes were dried, food was really nothing special. The service was absolutely awful. Very unprofessional staff, half hangover just standing there doing nothing and bringing orders to the wrong tables. 1 efficient waitress was doing all the job, while all the others were just standing there chitchatting by the bar. Service was absolutely shambolic. One of the waiter was even drinking straight from the glass bottles at the bar. The same bottles then use at the tables for tap water…. Never again!! Thankfully we were not charged for it as it was that bad. It is maybe time to hire efficient and trained staff rather than hangover students

We were staying at the nearby Dakota hotel but we like to explore, therefore we found Moose Coffee opposite, they were busy and turned away a large party before us but as we were two they were able to find room. Great friendly staff and huge selection of American style breakfast. I had pancakes with chorizo and eggs, great coffee too.

The poor service overshadowed the visit for us, it was busy which we appreciate at a weekend but it took over 20 minutes for our coffees to come after we asked where they were and asked 3 times for some water. Food was nice when it came but was starving by that point, even though it did turn up with the eggs I asked not to have. Appreciate it was busy but attention to detail for service just lacked

My wife came here on a previous visit to Leeds and took me so I could sample their amazing breakfast menu. Nearly didn't get in, but the waitress managed to find a table for us. However moments later they were turning people away, so if you are thinking of coming I suggest you book in advance. We both had a pancake based breakfast which were both delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

First time here, took 10 mins for drinks to arrive then over 40 minutes for food. Table next to us were seated after us and they'd finished eating by the time our meals arrived. My partner's bagel was burnt with a paltry amount of salmon and an unpleasant potato salad. My food was ok, but not amazing. The server was apologetic about the wait but it did seem like they'd forgotten about us then rushed our meal out. Won't be returning.

Breakfast done right, strangely we tried to pop into a moose coffee when we were in manchester the week before and it was too busy, so when we went leeds this weekend we booked to make sure this time, the menu is big and covers all bases, I had the reuben and it was so so nice, perfect size and great value, the staff were absolutely on it, really friendly and little to no wait times out of the expected

We were staying across the courtyard at Dakota and wanted someplace different for breakfast and saw this online so convenience made our decision to try it. Nice relaxed ‘diner’ vibes and managed a window table overlooking the busy courtyard. Our server Travis was busy but quickly brought us menus and said he’d be back momentarily to take drink order. True to his word, he promptly returned for coffee/tea choices; also didn’t flinch when I asked for a tall glass of ice for American iced tea. Brought those and took our order. Didn’t take long for the food to arrive which was well presented, plentiful and delicious. Have no complaints and really have to commend Travis for great customer service; he is personable yet professional, always with a smile on his face. We returned again for lunch and all was good again with Lydia as another great server. This time, the only downside was being informed there was no ice (???) so had to settle for a Coke.

Great visit this morning to Moose. Two of us went with our doggie Jack (a golden doodle). We got our choice of seats and Jack got made a fuss of and got water brought over without having to ask. Huge menu and was inbetween two items so asked our lovely waitress Freya who recommended the Monolito which was totally delish. Hubbie got the French toast with bacon which he devoured (no surprise as I sneaked a bit and it was really tasty). Got sausages for Jack (well you have to really don’t you?) and a side of potato hash. Everything was really enjoyable although the hash was a bit peppery for my taste. Freya was a great server, on hand if we needed her, very friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. She had a great rapport with everyone that we saw. Defo will revisit next time we’re in Leeds 😋

Always friendly service, huge pancakes and delicious hash. The milkshakes are very popular with our kids, and the coffee is also great.

Absolutely terrible experience...Sat 25mins before ordering even a drink...then over an hour before meals arrive...and I thought I had ordered 2 fluffy savoury cheese pancakes with bacon and eggs...mine were neither fluffy or savoury nevermind the cheese part...reheated dry bacon and what resembled two precooked eggs...standards have dropped off the scale since I first dined here over a year ago when it was hot and delicious...a very disappointing visit indeed...

The food is incredbile, each item with a little twist from the ordinary and the selection is huge! The coffee was good too and again theres a large drink selection. Service was quick and the staff were really friendly.

Freya was the difference … regular customers always loved the service but Freya takes it to the next level. Fabulous attitude, knowledge and style of interaction.

Third visit here as a family for a birthday brunch. First time amazing second was OK but mostly happy. This time really not good. Cups etc stained and not good quality (coffee was nice) booked for mums birthday she was told don't order pancakes, assumed must be brought but never were so she had other food which was fine but when we left we mentioned and the server was really apologetic. £10 for a 5 cheese toastie, tasted like bechamel sauce in bread really hard to eat. Overall just not good the quality was far better and service. This will be our last visit

We visit moose cafe often and are always met with great customer service and delicious food. Today we had a large booking and I had to call to alert the time last minute. The staff were so accommodating and absolutely brilliant with all the children.

Food is excellent. Hearty feast for the start of the day. I had Bronx Brunch which was cheesy bacony goodness. Maria had eggs and salmon which were amazing. Service is excellent, attentive without being overbearing and atmosphere is calm and friendly.

Moose used to be my favourite place for breakfast in Leeds. But last few months, they’ve seriously gone downhill. It now just seems utter chaos: long waits for food, food cold, food not served the same time as friend and wrong orders. The staff are friendly enough to, but just don’t seem able to cope anymore. I visited a Liverpool branch of Moose recently and it was excellent- like Leeds Moose used to be. If the manager is reading this please get in touch to see how they are getting things right. shall try Moose one last time in the New Year and I hope things have improved as I do miss their dishes.

Visited today for a breakfast and coffee. The food was absolutely gorgeous and quick. Special mention to Josh and Travis who were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend the New York Moose (eggs Benedict). Can’t wait to visit again whilst in Leeds shopping

Had a really great time at moose today. It’s so great for gluten free food which I find is so hard to find especially with lots of choice. I was served by Sam and Travis who were both lovely!

lol... where to start. I arrived with my partner and was sat down, we ordered drinks and they came quite quickly... I ordered waffles and my partner ordered the pancakes. they came relatively fast I dipped into my waffles and saw that my partner had a disgusting look on his face. I asked what was wrong and he said these pancakes they taste rotten.. I tried a taste and almost threw up in my mouth it was horrendous! The table at the side of us were a elderly pair who just explained they had both done complaints over their pancakes and some had just before we were in. the staff came over and I informed her how horrendous the pancake was and even tested her by saying taste it if you want. The young woman was very nice and explained it was a new chef and she has had complaints all day she offered a refund. The manager then came over and said a refund would not be given as that's not their policy. Went on about offering an experience. I asked if we could at least swap the food but she said no. Then when we were leaving she informed us we were banned from the restaurant as she doesn't want complaints there. Madness!! we were polite and nice the entire time. Awful experience.
