Moor Farm Beefeater in Northumberland

We came to Newcastle from Wales for a family gathering which also fell on mine and my daughter’s birthday weekend. We booked the Beefeater at Moor Farm for our evening meal and was not disappointed. Karen was very welcoming on our arrival, she showed us to our table which had been decorated with balloons, selfie accessories and even a thank you card for choosing to celebrate with them. This was very pleasing for the children and adults alike. Lewis promptly came to take our order and checked for any allergies. He was lovely to the children and was polite and attentive. The food served was of good quality, the steak in particular was delicious. The food was served in good time with no errors. My daughter and I were served a birthday cake which had kindly been supplied by our family and brought out by both Lewis and Karen who joined in with the singing and offered to serve the cake however we were all too full to eat it! To top it off, Lewis also brought to the table some sweets and a large bag of chocolate. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anybody looking for a good quality, good value meal. The staff are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for helping to make our stay and our birthday celebrations so memorable.

I didn't order any food, I went to a meeting that was being held here. I did grab a coffee, which was so good.

Staff were OK, took over half an hour for meal to arrive, steak cooked as requested, triple cooked chips were more like undercooked oven chips, awful chips were refunded but would rather have had the triple cooked chips as ordered

Stopped in on our way north, not the first time and not the last. Staff are brilliant, food was superb and the kids accomodated for. Great value too

I ordered surf and turf I asked for sirloin steak and got fillet steak instead the waitress apologised for the mistake and said you can a free dessert but when it came to paying the bill I had been charged for filet steak complete joke also the prawns were rubbery and the fries were dry I can safely say I wouldn't recommend this eatery to anyone

Awful food, abysmal service check your receipt matches your bank statement otherwise , you,like me will be charged double. 2 weeks to get them to admit the fault. Cold and draughty, partially cooked food with no choice.

We dine on a monthly basics. Always quality meal, the rump steak is brilliant can never have enough of the triple cooked chips. Staff are always very friendly.

I paid £17 for the biggest burger on the menu, when I got it I thought it was a kids meal, surely didn't worth the money. That's theost expensive and the smallest burger I've ever gotten from a pud. Won't be going back

Visited tonight 4 adults and a 4 yr old As soon as we arrived we were seated and the waitress was Blonde haired lady I think she was called Margaret (just back from her holiday in Rhodes) She was quick to get the menus and when we ordered soft drinks she told us about the refill offer She gave the 4 yr old some activity sheets and crayons and took his order so he wasn’t left waiting while we pondered over the menu Once we ordered the 4 yr old got his meal very swiftly and he ate everything on his plate Our meals were beautiful couldn’t fault them the fillet steaks were cooked just as we asked for When we were finished we succumbed to the deserts and again excellent We were well looked after regularly being offered refills on our drinks Will definitely return and the waitress really made our experience

Been here plenty of times and the food is always decent, never had a complaint. Service is usually very quick and the waiting staff are extremely helpful. On my latest visit the restaurant wasn't very busy, and we were seated right in the back room which is big but was very quiet. Definitely would recommend this place for a good bit of food and drink.

Can't believe how bad this was. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Ordered two plain cheeseburgers for two young people in our party of 5 (3 adult carers, 2 young people under 16). Was not given the options of a children's menu. When the young people's burgers came (30+ mins after ordering) they were pink in the middle and yet still incredibly dry. Sent them back and they said they would remake it, by which time the young people didn't want to eat because they had been waiting for so long and were put off because the first burger was so inedible. Not to mention that the waitress had a face like a smacked arse and clearly couldn't be bothered. When we went to pay, they had charged us £16 for two plain cheeseburgers. When we queried this, they would not budge because they said that their stock count would be off (?) and that we could have ordered from the kids menu - which we were never given! So we ended up paying over £100, and the young people in our care refused to eat tonight. The adults' food was mid, definitely not worth £16 a piece! Absolutely disgraceful, avoid at all costs.

Visited Wednesday 16th October. 5.30pm so mix up with staff on duty. Sat at table 82 in bar area. Waited 10 mins for menu , no one arrived at table. Bearing In mind the dining area had only a couple of dinners in. Went to the waiting to be seated sign , waitress walked passed carrying a plate I said “can I grab a menu please “ Grunted I’ll bring you one across, no problem Went and sat down , realises had to go to bar for drinks so after 5 mins went to bar to order drinks - the waitress was slouched over the counter drinking what look like a pint of milk , I said I asked for menus - and was abruptly told well I don’t no where your sitting , well if you sit on 82 table you are perfectly visible from where she was standing Horrible attitude. Continued through out our time at the beef eater. The gentleman who wears the mask will be able to tell you exactly how rude she was. Unacceptable. On this basis will not be returning As hospitality struggles to retain customers maybe a change in attitude is needed by this employee. I also told the younger waiter who was basic as passive as her. Very disappointed Shame as visit now and then but will by pass altogether now. I am happy to discuss this further, check the cctv in the establishment of how lazy and unprofessional the visit was Well done to the man serving on the bar. Always there when we go. An asset to the beef eater.

Fantastic service tonight from Lewis S. He was very attentive and for the first time ever in a restaurant I was asked if I wanted a free refill before having to ask/go get it myself! Food was very decent, ribs were a highlight. I thought the broccoli in my veg side was a bit tough but the meat was great.

Nice food, lovely staff, great service but the place is always freezing cold, have to keep our coats on!!

Went for all you can eat cooked and continental breakfast. Had everything you could possibly want really and food was lovely quality. Only issue was the breakfast is cooked to order and nobody came to ask if I wanted more food cooking, I had to walk across and collar a staff member to ask for more. I'm a big boy and it should have been painfully obvious I wanted at least 3 plates cooled before I would be sated.

Second time here, food still to the expected standard of this establishment. Just a shame the draught beer selection is to focused on larger, how about catering for those who prefer proper beers. Staff deserve a big pat on the back for their attention to customers. DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK

Good experience until I came to pay the bill, The voucher states 25% off, nowhere does it state it's only for main meals, a right con!!! Argued that it should be clear even staff agreed don't fall for it.

Very average restaurant/pub, with very average food. Often quiet, so no real need for advance bookings.

Very lovely 74 steak stack. Ribs and steak were good. Gravy was good. Reminds me of going to a beefeater, back in the '80s in a good way.

Large pub next to a premier inn. Very spacious and tasteful. The staff I encountered were all friendly and keen to ensure that we had a pleasant meal. Beefeater was keen to promote some enticing food offers, but drinks prices are still quite high. The food itself was delicious and to a good standard.

Dropped in for a couple of drinks with visiting family. Nice atmosphere, they had food earlier and had no complaints. Free parking but register car at bat on arrival and be aware of the 3 hour limit to avoid any fines

Kitchen lacked the ability to cook steaks to customers (2) preferences. Steaks sent back to kitchen and were returned , My 10oz ribeye acceptable at medium to rare after being well done previously. My wife’s 2 smaller steaks out of 3 returned again as overcooked to well done. On their return one steak was very rare, almost blue, uneatable by my wife who decided to call it a day and leave . Understandable if the kitchen is under pressure from too many covers at the same time but it was quiet at 19:45 hrs. Accompanyments on the plate were very good especially the chips Bar staff do not get. off the hook, my pint of Doom bar was served 30 millimetres from the rim, I consequently requested a top up, came back 20 millimetres from the rim, when tasted the bitter was luke warm far below the recommended cellar temp as if it had been standing on the bar top. Sunday lunch visit. Service good but food could have been warmer.

Always friendly here, food is nice too. Love their mixed grill and our kids who are usually fussy with food love their chicken nuggets and fries. The waitress with the blonde hair that works there is so friendly. Didnt catch her name (was working Saturday 20th July)but shes always great when we go. Exceptional customer service.

Fantastic atmosphere and extremely tasty food. The area we sat in was light and airy. We felt comfortable, like sitting in our own home. The staff are so friendly and they make you feel right at home. I really can't fault this venue. It always provides the very best, every time 🩷

Went for Sunday lunch for four, when meal came the veg was like warm , and the beef was cut thinner than bacon and only 2 slices, which basically was one slice of meat, and it was chewey, maybe that's why they cut it so thin, drinks were expensive, why can't they offer one price for a single soft drink instead of refillable which adults don't normally top up

We stopped by for breakfast. Very busy but got a seat and served quickly. Usual Beefeater breakfast offerings.......only 1 coffee machine led to some queues

Worst place to eat staff disgusting didn’t look clean. Food was worse than poor hygiene left a lot to be desired. Not even one star

We had the mixed grill, 5 Star steak and cooked to perfection. I would recommend it. The place is well located, especially if you're driving. It's a little pricey compared to surrounding places but you can really taste where the little extra spend goes.

First visit in 4 years, great staff, however quality of our steaks was below the expectations given the price and the fact that steak is their speciality. Plates were cold so food didn't stay hot very long. Sam did apologise, but it may be another 4 years till our next visit, even with a discount code...

We went to have a nice dinner with friends and kids Kids ordered burgers from kids menu. Not only we got bun with burger, without salad and tomato, but kids got food poisoning. Both of them were so poorly for two days. I don’t recommend this restaurant. We paid a lot of money and food is very poor quality Very disappointing!

It's a Beefeater, so my expectations weren't high, but the food was poor. Chicken and ribs were my chosen main. The chips were good. Ribs were dry, and the glaze/ sauce was non-existent. The chicken was almost inedible. Being someone's guest, I said nothing. The corn on the cob is virtually an insult, two pieces about 1'wide. A pile of warm limp leaves were on the plate for some reason. They weren't dressed and were unpleasant. Desserts were badly curated imo, mostly chocolate/ salted caramel ilk, only one fruit dessert offered (apple pie), which are usually my preference. (E.g. Pavlova, lemon tart). I went for the New York cheesecake, which I couldn't finish. It was bland and a waste of effort to eat. The place wasn't even rammed even though it was Easter Sunday. So there's no excuse there. This is the sort of place that makes us a global source of ridicule for our cuisine. Having said all that, the staff were SUPER! Really can't compliment them enough.

Excellent service, lovely food...

In for breakfast through half term holidays. Friendly, helpful staff. Great selection of drinks and Continental breakfast, the cooked breakfast however was a let down - not buffet style, had to order through table service. Sausage skin was chewy, bacon was coated in oil, poached eggs looked like deflated wrinkly balloons with stringy pieces of egg hanging off them, small serving of beans, mushrooms not fully cooked and dried out, the only item that was okay, was the hash browns that weren't soggy off sitting next to the not fully drained poached eggs. Cleanliness needs addressed - where we were sat, we could see rubbish that had been stuffed behind a radiator. We definitely won't be back for breakfast.

Its OK. I have been twice recently to take advantage of special offers they advertised. The 1st time, all the food was nice and staff very attentive. The 2nd time they were very understaffed. Waited a long time for food when it wasn't too busy. Lots of stuff missing from the menu. Ordered fillet steak & it was inedible. Thankfully it was removed from the bill but it did mean I left hungry as the fillet doesn't come with anything but chips. The staff are definitely the best thing about it.

What an absolute delight!! I’ve never encountered a more friendly and truly attentive service team. Food was very good but the staff makes this place just outstanding. We stayed next door for 6 days and not once did we have anything but five stars service. We’ve traveled all over Europe and the Americas , and I have to say never encountered a more consistently overall friendly and professional team!

Great food and venue but I was sent a 40% off Main Course offer via the app when I came to pay I was told this was only for the Evening menu and not the Lunch time menu. Very disappointed as the offer was the only reason I went.

Stayed here recently for work purposes. We were served by a chap (whose name I believe is Don) He was polite, courteous and thoroughly professional. An asset to the company and very worthy of a 5 star review.

Very disappointing compared to other Beefeaters we've been to. Very long wait to be served, very short staffed. Orders messed up. Some staff were lovely and tried to be helpful, but was also some very miserable staff who didn't seem bothered.

The food tasted good. But the size of the portion of chicken and chips was the size I would expect for a kids portion. £15 for such is an absolute disgrace.

Staff were really welcoming and friendly, food was great and good value as we had a discount voucher. Tables and cutlery were all clean, the only thing which let the side down was the general state of decor inside. Moor Farm looks like it’s ready for a good spruce up inside and the toilets in particular are in desperate need of some attention - whilst clean some of the fixtures were broken in the gents and looked rather shabby. That said I would happily visit again as the staff and food made up for any shortcomings in the general state of the fixtures and fittings.

Food was not cooked properly, not only that never got the full dinner I ordered was missing eggs, the stake was raw, wene I asked for well done . It was the worst restaurant I have even been in. Staff were unhelpfull a guy who was the shef was sitting in a chair as high as a kite thay ended up throwing him out the door breakfast was no better eggs undercooked bacon over cooked that it was more a pork straching in all I will never return hotel was great

We stayed at the premier inn next door for a Christening and dined a few times in the restaurant. Margaret serviced us at breakfast & and dinner she is absolutely fantastic. She really is the life and soul of the restaurant, she makes you feel at home and is very polite, kind and just so friendly you can tell she is an absolute natural and enjoys her job! (Great chat)!!! All staff are brilliant, smiley and very welcoming but Margaret really is top tier with customer service. The food is very tasty and good size of portions too. Thank you very much and we look forward to our next stay!

Had the Surf and Turf burger which was delicious. Only downside was being sat in the restaurant area which is used by hotel guests which was disappointing due to there being nicer parts.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Discount with a blue lights card very useful. Unfortunately not many special offer menu deals and there was only a small amount of chips with the main meal although the waiter was happy to get more.

We were on holiday at Felmoor Park Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th July.A friend recommended yourselves.I have M.S. and required disabled access.The food was great so was the waiter and service made a nervous person feel very at ease .Highly recommended .
