Cute and welcoming interior but our table was a bit dirty with the previous customers plates still leftover. When we got served the waitress tidied the table but didn't wipe it down at all. Staff were friendly and the cafe was clearly busy but still felt the service was poor. Nice coffee but overall not that impressed.

Went for a stroll around Padiham (lovely, sweet place) and finally chose the Mooch as it looked like the nicest one was opposite the amazing Town Hall. I had a window seat which was well cute and the cafe has a lovely, shabby chic feel to it, I chose coffee and walnut cake and my OH had the tomato soup and crusty bread (which he said was gorgeous, fresh and fruity-and there was plenty of it!). We both had tea to drink and as I like extremely weak tea (hot water and milk basically) and my OH likes normal strength tea, this usually causes problems when we eat out??? However, here there were no issues whatsoever. In fact, our sweet waitress suggested a pot of tea and another of hot water (saying that it would be cheaper that way anyway). She was delightful, as was the young lady who brought our milk.

You would expect this café to be in Clitheroe or Whalley, not Padiham. It is classy and serves a good range of menu for breakfast/brunch/lunch or just a drink, all at very reasonable prices. I have visited several times and sampled a variety of sandwiches and cakes and so far can't fault any. There are also a limited range of fancy goods for sale. The café is clean and the service is excellent, with friendly and attentive staff.Parking is handy, either on the side streets (limited to 40 mins) or on the local Tesco car park.Full marks would have been given, except that the menu was printed on plain A4 paper and had coffee stains on it. A bit more effort needed there and check the window display on the side street. Apart from that, I will be returning and would recommend a visit to anyone visiting the area for any reason.

The café is on the main road running through the small town of Padiham. Although there is no parking immediately outside there is street parking nearby. The Tesco store is just round the corner so you could park there, do some shopping then go for lunch. The café is open Monday to Saturday 10am-4pm and they recommend you book in advance. Booking in advance would get you a table as the place is tiny! I counted something like 1 large table and 3 small tables. As the festive season looms the larger table was obviously made up for the trade but the large table would probably break down into smaller tables later on in the year. They did have a festive menu in place and the regular menu also. Nice selection of mainly cold foods in the sandwich range but there was soup (very nice) if not a massive batch of it, they had nearly run out at approx. 12.30 on a weekday afternoon. Great selection of hot and cold drinks and alcohol also.My lunch partner had a bowl of Veg soup and we both had the Turkey and Cranberry sandwiches. I then had a pre-formed Christmas pud with hot custard. The bread used for the sandwiches was wholesome brown bread which was very fresh and very thickly cut. On noticing the menu again it stated that the bread could be ordered for your sandwich as White or Brown but oddly enough, we weren't given a choice - it just came on Brown bread. Our waitress was a bit dizzy but the job got done without much fuss, the atmosphere was nice and you could hold a conversation without shouting. The place being tiny was full at lunchtime. They have trinkets and nic-naks for sale everywhere you look but strangely the place didn't feel cluttered. Will go back in the New Year but may book before hand to make sure that we get a table as we will be travelling to get there and would hate to be disappointed.

Had a Groupon voucher to use, otherwise would not go there. The owner was very sceptical about using a voucher and made it quite clear she had made no new customers using these vouchers.

Living less than a quarter of a mile from Mooch and passing it at least twice a day, I have no excuse for having not visited sooner. As my wife is on crutches following a hip-operation and I'm recovering from a chest-infection the sunshine of Padiham prompted us to head out for lunch. Not wanting to venture far, Mooch seemed a perfect choice. We were greeted by a very tasteful and contemporary setting and thankfully were able to take the only remaining table downstairs - a busy cafe is usually a good sign. Prompt, attentive and very pleasant service followed, but the highlight for me was the food - the falafel and hummus tortilla wrap with greek salad was marvellous, as was the scone with cream and jam as a chaser. We'll certainly be back and will keep our eyes open for the evening services which I believe are offered from time to time. Once of a time Padiham had little to stop you from passing straight through - these days it is taking positive steps in the right direction for which we are grateful. Well done Mooch. See you soon :-)

Amazing afternoon tea for myself and my partner which I booked through Groupon, it was all set out so lovely, vintage style cake stands, cups and saucers and tea pot, all laid out ready for our arrival, sandwiches were so tasty and fresh, cakes were plentiful and again so tasty, especially the macaroons, the staff were so polite and lovely, will definitely be returning soon.

I have sampled lots of afternoon teas over the years and I would rate this as the best. As previous reviewers have commented the sandwiches were both plentiful and varied. Hot drinks were plentiful and the cakes were to die for. We had to take both sandwiches and cakes home,( which my husband was very pleased about) and that has never happened on any afternoon teas that i have been on in the past. The owner boxed it all in plastic boxes and put them in a paper carrier bag for each of us. The place is aptly named Mooch as there are quaint little gifts that you can buy in the cafe. The owner and staff are really pleasant and really make it a special experience. If you haven't been give it a try you wont be disappointed and if you have I bet, like us it won't be your last visit.Well done Mooch it's been a fantastic experience.

We went to Mooch following a thwarted visit to nearby Gawthorpe Hall (closed for restoration) and came away rather happy the hall was closed. Simple sandwiches with salad but the bread was absolutely THE best. Gl bread from the local bakers, Bertwhistles was simply wonderful in both texture and taste. We went to the bakers after being told by the owner where it was (she even tried to call them for us) but they had sold out. Needless to say the service as well as the food was brilliant and we will be back zoom to

We went to Mooch to try their afternoon tea. I have a trencherman's appetite but any anxiety that we'd be faced with a couple of flimsy sandwiches and a minute bun were instantly allayed when I saw what was being placed in front of us. The sandwiches were fabulous and there were so many that even I couldn't finish them. The cakes were also delicious. My wife, who is a scones maven, said they were the best she'd ever tasted. The prosecco was excellent and the tea pot constantly replenished. They even provided an elegant little doggy bag so we could take what we couldn't eat home with us. Top marks yet again for quality, service and price.

Never been in before, but will go again. After a long hot walk I popped in for a bite of lunch. I loved the interior of the cafe, there were lots of knick knaks to mooch over, and it had a nice and fresh feel to the place. I ordered a tuna crunch sandwich, a pot of green tea, and, as a reward for my long walk, which unfortunately meant a long walk home, I ordered a glass of the house pinot grigio,(hangs head in shame) lol! The food came and I was not disappointed. The tasty sandwich on GI bread, had lots of filling and lots of crunch because of chopped red and green peppers and came with a little side salad and homemade pot of relish, the tea pot was full, and the wine was cold. At £3.50 for the sandwich, £4 for the medium glass of wine and £1.50 for a pot of green tea, out of which I got 3 cups, no one should complain about the price. Before leaving I actually purchased one of the goods on show, a present for someone! I will definately go back, and hubby and I will try one of the themed evenings as soon as we can. The owner said that as a lot of people are away in August the next one will be in September, so keep an eye out. Take away is available, and if ordered before 10:30am, delivery to your place of work is available too between 12 and 1pm. The only thing I would like to recommend to the owners, is more choice of coffees, but I think that would mean laying out for one of those fancy high pressure machines, so it may not be feasable. Keep up the good work.

Pleasant but it was nothing special. We had the ham Panini and carrot soup. The strawberry milkshake wasn't cold. We thought it was expensive for what it was.

My wife and I called in for a snack lunch earlier this week while we were on a walk along the Calder, and I was reminded that a group of eight of us enjoyed one of their once a month Saturday evening events recently when you pre-order your food from their changing menu.Mooch isn`t a restaurant but the standard and quality of food is as good as. I think the husband of the owner fancies himself as a Master Chef contestant, and he seems to know his stuff! I had a fishcake and salad to start, followed by a tasty rolled beef slice with a magnificent filling, then a great sweet, and excellent coffee. Service was a bit slow, given that everything is made and then served to all twenty five or so at the same time, but that didn`t matter as we were able to enjoy conversation while waiting. We all enjoyed a great evening, slightly different than turning up at a restaurant, but worth the experience. Booking is essential for those events, but the cafe is open daily with great food again. A must try.

We just happened to pop in to see what the menu was like and decided to stay. It seems like it is one of those great places that doesn't have much choice but what they do they do well. Very enjoyable. Good customer service. We will go back and will consider the evenings they do such as the tapas night and the Mediterranean night the lady said they had coming up. A little gem in Padiham.

Popped into Mooch on Friday with my mother. What a delightful little cafe/craft shop. The owner was lovely and chatted to us about some of the local businesses in the area. We didn't have anything to eat as had a table booked in the evening but the cakes looked amazing.... Next time :-)

Called in after a visit to Gawthorpe Hall (which was closed)!!!!!I chose the home made cheese and onion pie with salad and mini roast potatoes, wow really tasty, it was obviously popular because a few minutes later it was sold out (at least for that day) my wife had home made carrot and coriander soup and a good chunk of bread, both meals were delicious and we were sorry we didn't leave anything!!!A lovely find and in a nice setting, well done.

All too often, people only voice negative reviews and let a good experience go unnoticed. With the constant increase in lunch places in Burnley, it feels we need to voice support for local independent businesses. It was my first time trying this place - formerly “quick crepes” and now “central kitchen” - and I will definitely be back. I was greeted by the owner who is a really lovely man and was incredibly attentive, but got the balance just right. (Most places have a habit of asking how the food is when you’ve just taken a mouthful, but not here!) It had a relaxed, friendly and comfortable atmosphere, it was very clean and the tables are all nicely spaced. I ordered a tea and a crepe (bacon, spinach and mushroom) it was served quickly, delicious and the portion was massive! There are all kinds of things on the menu, I saw some burgers come out and they looked very good. But for those just wanting a drink they had loads of options, hot, cold, milkshakes, smoothies and alcohol. If you haven’t already, give it a try. I’m already thinking about my next visit!

What a great place to take a toddler...I have a 13month old and she loved it...really clean, great coffee and food...really big play area and lots to do for them...most places don’t cater very well for under 2’s but this is just perfect...can’t recommend it enough 👍👍
