Had our wedding reception in the MOO bar with a food buffet and it was brilliant.

First time I have been and had a very nice meal at a very reasonable price

I never went there....its permanently closed

Meat and potato pie was unimpressive, chips and peas were quite good, will give it another go as may of picked a bad night.

We went to this restaurant on 13/08/2021 for a birthday party and was very disappointed with the quality of the food and the drinks. The food was of very poor quality and there was not enough to go round, for example the pizza’s were from a freezer and had very little toppings on them, also 1 Stan pie was provided and only fed 6 people. Also the beers were not up to a good standard and 1 of them were sour. I felt very sorry for the people who payed for this as they definitely didn’t get there money’s worth at all. Also you had to go to another bar with in the complex to get your beers as the bar in the restaurant didn’t have beer to serve to the customers. So i would highly recommend that if you do want to have a gathering here, that you make it clear as to what food you want for your money.

Staff very friendly but food poor burgers over cooked chcken was hard and bacon was black on edges and the beef was dry no juices so over cooked in my buger.Wa worst burger i ever had onion rings were nice alsp chips were decent

Halloween Tea. Very disorganised. Finally got a drink 45 mins after arriving. Food disappointing. Everything seemed rushed, staff (the few that there were ) were rushing around taking orders but nothing being served. Finally after over an hour food served. Hopefully this experience will set them up for future events. The venue is lovely, and the staff that were working, were apologetic and sympathetic. This is not good customer service. Staff should not have to apologise for errors that were made. I don't know why we pre ordered the kids food. Made absolute no difference as everything was late and too much for the kitchen. Unfortunately I will not be going again. I do wish them all the best for the future

Rally upset they sat us next to the pool table we keptd getting hit with the pool que then the food was shocking was dry we couldn't even eat it I ended up coming home and cooking but the week before we went but were in the restaurant part it was amazing so rally disappointed it was my daughters birthday

Where to start.....the food was sound and decent quality, but the manager really needs to get a stern grip of his kitchen staff (unless communication is an issue?). Once seated and our drinks brought out, we ordered starters and then mains. At least 30 minutes passed before I had to ask when the starters were. 5 minutes later they arrived.....along with all the mains(!). I have never experienced anything like it, ever! The waiting staff were busying round while the manager had a strop at them, then asked if we would like the mains put on our table while we ate the starters. Errrm what do you think?? He then said the mains would be re-cooked fresh, but they clearly wasn’t as we had a great view of the kitchen. The chef just kept all our mains under a hot lamp until we were ready for them. When they came back out, one of the meals was supposed to have mash but came with chips. Manager apologised then fetched out a bowl of mash....Luke warm on top but ice cold underneath. Absolutely shambolic. So one of our party had to wait for that to be rectified while the rest of us ate. As I was paying the bill, there was no effort whatsoever from the manager to apologise for the various mix ups, or offer a free round of drinks as a sweetener, and it became apparent we weren’t the only ones receiving poor service - a family next to us kept receiving wrong items. It wasn’t even that busy so I don’t know the reason for all the messing up! Maybe better communication wouldn’t go amiss? I would give them a second chance but it will be a long while to get over this visit unfortunately

We decided to go for tea. Had an idea it may be busy with the eat out scheme, so booked. My husband got a really good deal in that he got two courses for £5. Soup and roast dinner. I was only having fajita’s - but since he was having two courses, I decided to do so too. I also got soup. I don’t know how they make their vegetable soup, but I always enjoy it. It is super tasty. The fajitas were really good too. We had a pint of coke each. My husband enjoyed his dinner - they tend to stack the dinner. The whole bill came to £13.55 - what a bargain! We had table 1 which was a little sticky. The staff were fab and friendly as usual. We have been here a few times and normally, we have had to wait - but we didn’t on this occasion.

What can I say? I only gave this place a second chance because they were doing the eat out to help out scheme. We waited a looooong time for food to arrive and I spent the majority of the meal unsticking myself from the table which was very sticky. We did mention this but was told, oh that table always is. (Oh that’s okay then!) When it did finally arrive the food was poor, the prawn cocktail consisted of a handful of shredded lettuce with the cheapest quality tiny prawns on top. A slice of bread on the side, no butter, cut into triangles like I was in kindergarten. Not to mention one prawn was black which was rather off putting. But by this time I was starving so I put the black prawn to one side and soldiered on. For main course I ordered the ribs, it was like a deep fried version of the long life ribs you can get from the supermarket, which had spent an hour too long in the fryer. On a positive the chips were okay but the peas were by no means mr Birdseye. Unfortunately no one bothered to ask how the meal was until the very end at which point I expressed my dissatisfaction, they said they’d tell the kitchen, but failed to make any attempt to resolve the situation. All in all a poor experience and I’m pleased Rishi picked up half the bill! Definitely won’t be giving it a third chance!

Lovely stone baked pizzas, fabulous cocktails, belly busting burgers, plenty for kids to choose with healthy options, covering most other dietary choices too

This was booked for my sister and my friend for fathers day, never been before and was very surprised by the restaurant, plenty of room and really modern, the staff we're lovely and polite. The food was great really enjoyed it. Would definitely go again and would recommend you try. I don't understand why other have given negative feed back for this restaurant, my readers will know by now I'm a picky eater and I couldn't find any thing wrong here.

Had our Christmas party with friends from my local running club ( eccleshill road runners ) The service was great , the staff were friendly & really looked after us . We had 3 course menu & the food was excellent , good portion sizes & it was also piping hot . Excellent night . Thank you ( Alison Hartley )

Tried to book on the website but even tried to book to eat between 45 minutes and 1 1/2 hours later the website kept saying bookings need to be more than 30 minutes after time of booking. Ended up up ringing to book a table for 2. Average food, nothing special at all. Left half of it on the plate. Service was much better than the food. Hardly anybody in the restaurant, about 8 people at 7.30pm Sunday evening. Overall a disappointing meal.

Went with a party of 9 to celebrate Sons 18th Birthday. Great atmosphere reminded me of an American Diner. Pub food style very nice no complaints. Bonus of 2 for 1 cocktails before 7pm. Staff couldn't do enough for you A star. Highly recommended will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for a great night

While staying at the Highfield Hotel. The Moo is attached and we popped in for a drink and a meal. Had a great night and the food was first class. Staff couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a good experience. My steak was just what the doctor ordered to put a smile on my face. The cocktails lent a hand too. Well worth a visit.

Quiet. But Monday night and rainy. Food amazing. Had mixed grill and best one I have had in years. Decent price too.....

Nice modern decor. Good choice of delicious food, which was excellent value. Lovely,friendly staff. Ample parking. Don't go on rock and roll night unless you like being deafened by old rock and roll records.

1pm on a Sunday and we were the only customers in the place. This might be because a sign outside said "private function" . However our waitress explained this referred to the previous night! We both ordered roast beef which came with a proper Yorkshire pud and a good portion of fresh vegetables along with extra gravy. It was first class and I told the chef how pleased we were. Smiling, efficient service too. All that for £6.95 a head. Great value! Just a shame about the lack of atmosphere. Recommended.

AFTER eating there it's more than ok foid was lovely no long waiting times between courses nice bright interior selection of tables lime round ones got social gatherings or booth for a more quiter meal good atmosphere too

Food was nice. My partners only complaint is fizzy drinks came from out of a bottle you buy for any supermarket would prefer it from tap as it was flat.

I have never been a big lover of this restaurant - but the overall of the restaurant seems to have been with all of it - the decor (which is now very lovely). The service (we didn't wait half as long for our food - huge improvement). The waiting people have always been lovely! Husband got Sunday dinner which didn't appear to have changed much - I got fajitas - but ate probably half. They were beautiful but plentiful. Didn't particularly want to go here today - but this restaurant has gone well up in my estimations - very pleasantly surprised!

Food is really licking fingers good Staff is very friendly. If you go there I recommend the pork ribs.

The service was very slow, we had to ask for starters, then had to ask for the dessert menu. The onions rings I ordered were absolutely dreadful, sooo much oil in them I couldn’t/didn’t want to finish my portion. For starters I got the nachos and they were bland and terrible, the jalapeños didn’t even have any taste to them For mains, I got the chefs special chicken burger....dreadful honestly to god I’ve had more taste in tap water than I did in that burger. I didn’t bother with dessert and the starters and main were terrible enough. I’d honestly eat else where however if you like chucking your money away for bland food, and to be sat in a dead environment this is your place

We loved the food- had smokehouse burgers topped with pulled pork and a kids meal of pizza, fries and garlic bread. Nothing to complain about- all 3 of us enjoyed our meals. We wondered whether the new menu was introduced to economise- but if so we didn’t feel that the taste and quality was too compromised. Had 241 cocktails which was good value. The decor is ok and good music. The only negative was the lack of atmosphere as we were the only ones in, apart from a lone diner who came in just before we left. It’s a shame the place is not busier. Would definitely go again.

I have been to Moo many times as I live locally but this is the first time in a while. The menu has changed! My husband and I went about 6.30 for tea out without the kids and we genuinely wished we had stayed at home. There was a function on in the side room which unfortunately was not contained to the side room. About 5 to 10 children of varying aged spent the whole time running around the restaurant, screaming and being generally dangerous! I’m a teacher so I’m usually really tolerant but my husband and I had to shout to each other. The young waitresses were lovely but did nothing about the children. It was like having dinner in a play gym. Then the food came and things got worse. I ordered Halloumi fajitas - I love halloumi so was really looking forward to it. When it came it was so dripping in grease from being deep fried, that it was practically inedible. We left as soon as we could and I did say to the waitress that we had not enjoyed the meal because of the noise and the children running around the restaurant, to which she just shrugged and said ‘we’ve got a function on’. Seriously - if you are going to allow this to happen again then you need to close the restaurant to give the children full reign or explain to the families hiring the room that children need to stay in there. I won’t be back sadly as the menu and food have gone drastically down hill.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC BEATLES TRIBUTE NIGHT AT THE MOO BAR. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious well presented food. The staff are so attentive and pleasant. Great value for money in lovely surroundings. The Reeds were amazing singing Beatles songs as well as other 60s numbers by The Kinks and The Stones. Can't wait for the next tribute night as we will definitely be there

The meal had a frozen burger and pizza with hallumi that was fried like mad. The pizza tasted like a morrisons cheap one and the burger was dry. The atmosphere was nice and played songs that suited the diner. The waitress was nice and helpful. Altogether it was a poor experience!

We had a pizza and a cheese burger and hallumi fries. After waiting for nearly an hour the food arrived...... The hallumi fry’s were dripping in oil, the burger was obviously pre frozen and the pizza was tasteless and had a a jar pasta sauce slipped on. The base was also frozen, I’ve am struggling to think of anywhere to compare it to it’s that bad.

We visited the restaurant as guests from the hotel. The menu was quite varied and staff were friendly. Got a 20% discount for being a hotel guest. Food was ok.

The food was just alright the service was atrocious 21 sat for food through the full restaurant and took forever for the food a waitress took our order then ages after a young man asked for our order likely cause he seen we had been there so long without food but order was in just took forever so never again we could have went 20 minutes back home and cooked a meal quicker than it took them and I mean after we waited ages could still have cooked sooner ourselves shocking service

Extremely impressed with the service. Went for my partner's birthday with a large amount on a cocktail voucher, which the manger allowed to be used on part of the meal. Amazing service and friendly staff.

We love Moo. Whoever hires the staff should really be commended, they are always efficient but super friendly. Food is wholesome and plentiful, not gourmet! 😏 but the burgers always hit the spot. Go if you want a good catch up with your better half, mates, besties, whoever! Atmosphere might not always be sparkling but everything else makes up for it. Wine list, cocktail selection and beers all superb. Just GO

Decided to try it again here as the reviews seem to have got better. How wrong was i. The food was absolutely terrible and I'm not a fussy eater. Ordered Malaysian chicken skewers to start, they were tasteless and cold. The side salad was what you get out of a bag at morrisons with a bit of chopped onion on top. The main i ordered a 6oz burger with extra toppings. One topping was missing and again the burger wasn't hot. The sweet potato fries are what have come out of a packet not homemade. Again the bagged salad and a bit of onion. Had to ask for a knife and folk as they took the other away after my starter. Young inexperienced staff, terrible food. Its more like cafe food.

Went with my family for my sisters 18th birthday. Staff were very friendly and the service they provided was exellent. I had the chicken burger & chips which was very nice and everyone else enjoyed there meal. Great value for the price and they even gave my sister a free desert with it being her birthday, which was really kind of them. Will be going here again!

Fab food and friendly attentive service. Varied menu something for all with a good choice of gin too 😀. Highly recommend the fillet steak 🥩 it simply melted in the mouth

This is our second time here at the moo the atmosphere was relaxed the food was excellent plenty of it and of high quality our waitress who was called emily was polite and very helpful she is a credit to the restaurant overall very impressed

OMG!! Have so enjoyed my burger. So glad I had the 6oz. I had it with sweet potato fries side and mushrooms and hallumi cheese absolutely delicious. Will definately be back here again. Really enjoyed it.

Visiting family from Ireland and went for food at moo the youngest was one and the oldest nearly 90 and everyone very happy great for going with small ones

Food was average but service was really slow despite us being the only people in there. Took 20 mins to bring our drinks and another 25 to bring the food after it was ordered.

Staff are really helpful...Kayley was was a real character very helpful Shirley was really helpful when deciding on the gin for my better have. Only complaint I have and it's one I have all the the time wooden boards are so unhygienic and mini chip baskets why??? Apart from that it was really good

Visited Moo while staying at The Highfield Hotel next door. Food was lovely, staff couldn't have been more helpful and ai can't stop thinking about the watermelon slushie drink - so good!

Booking was made for family and friends at last minute for a birthday meal. Balloons and banners were provided free of charge and the birthday lads got a free drink. The staff were brilliant and couldnt have done enough for us. Drinks were a good price and the food was delicious. I ordered a steake and it was like cutting through butter and so tasty. Would definitely recommend. It made for a lovely evening

Even though Moo is on my doorstep I have not visited this restaurant due to my first experience many years ago not being too great. The owners were different then. I was not keen on the booth type seating and the fact you had no other choice than chips with your main meal. We were in the mood for a serious piece of steak yesterday evening and so decided to give Moo another try and I’m so glad we did. You now have a choice of booth type seating or unfixed tables and chairs and you also have a choice of chips, sweet potato or jacket potatoe with your main meal. We ordered the 12 oz rump steaks and I opted for a jacket potatoe which was delicious and huge. The steaks were massive and cooked to perfection. We also had lovely table service from a young lady who was a new member of staff and she was very helpful, pleasant and attentive. Well done Moo, we will definitely be back!!! The Thursday night steak deal is also a must.

Being and visited this restaurant quite a few times now, I went last week and seen they have a new manager, new chefs and the place is being redone which is very refreshing, the place has a new menu and better offers on too!

Good steak and great value. We will be back.

I love coming to the Moo.the food is always delicious and the prices are really reasonable. The staff are really friendly. Steak Thursday are a must!! Could not recommend this place higher :)

A 40 minute wait in a barley busy restaurant (they did come and give us a complimentry drink for are wait )one big table and us 2 starter was bland and just edible ordered the supposdley fresh stone baked pizza one came out burnt base and was inedible the second had no flavour we paid for drinks and starter and left

Avoid this place like the plague the steak was full sinew and fat when I complained the manageress was very sarcastic and rude she said the the chef had tried it and it was lovely but she would offer 20% off my meal even though I had only eat half at best overall bad food high prices

Went for Mother's day and the restaurant was half empty which tells a tale in itself! There were 6 of us. Personally I hate food on wooden plates I think it is unhygienic. The burger bun for the child's meal was burnt. And the fajitas were luke warm not sizzingly hot. However there was plenty of it and we all left very full just not enthusiastic about the quality. The service was friendly but slow

Not been since it has been renovated - unfortunately will not be visiting again!

Visited this Restaurant again and was a total disappointment. The service is was terrible. When we arrived there were two tables with dinners. We order our food which was Burger and pasta dish, this took over an hour to come to the table, the waitress did come to our table a couple times to say that the food was coming but over an hour get our food to our table. The food that we were server was OK, but nothing special. As other reviews have said the place has had the wooden booths taken out and they have placed a black sheet off to divide the room up. The new table and chairs you are not that comfortable.

It is a good place with mix of people, child friendly, reasonably priced good food. They have live music and cater for any type of parties. Large car park. The staff are friendly, serving the usual types of spirits and good quality real ale. Worth a visit.

Had gone a couple of times before with my better half and enjoyed everything but on the last visit after we will never be coming back... it was ment to been refurbished and it looked like cheap social club and the food is very poor quality

Very disappointing total change from my last visit. There was nobody else in the restaurant all the time we were there, speaks volumes ! The place was cold the steak was cold and looked more like frying steak than a Rump. I have never seen a thinner rump and it would be hard pushed to pass as 12oz steak. The chimichuri sauce was a total disappointment what there was of it . The flavour of the steak was OK but I wont be rushing back not value for money improvements really need to be made. People vote with their feet. On a good note The waitress was helpful and efficient a very pleasant young lady.
