Monty's Curry Centre in Thurrock

Nice meal, good quality and nice thick sauces. Friendly staff. Portions are a good size, and nan breads light and crispy.

We ordered from here and it was delivered very quickly. When we opened up the tandoori chicken dish, the meat was dark and smelt off. Make sure when ordering this dish, you ask for fresh chicken as the sauce covers up the meat.

I was really hoping that Monty's could become my new local takeaway but, sadly, it did not deliver. Judging by the other reviews, my experience was not typical, but I can only base my review on how I felt on the night. My madras lacked spiciness and the rest of the order was quite bland. Sorry Monty's, but I will not be promoting you to my top spot!

Family of 5 arrived when very busy. Seved lovely food by excellent staff. One of the best Indian meals ever.

I had a table of four booked for saturday night, after waiting more than an hour and half for the main course, i had the lamb shank, when cutting into it i found it to be frozen in the middle still. i had already taken a bit of the outer section and picked it with my hands, thank god i did. I raised it to the staff and they made no attempt to apologise, or replace it, the Manager came over and said he will take it off the bill (good of him) i just said get the bill and we left. I will never go back to this restaurant and will take this further with food and hygiene inspectors.

Really good food, with lots of choices on the menu. Staff were great. Would highly recommend visiting. Reasonably priced.

5 of us ordered a takeaway from here on the 7th November 2019. They were quite rude on the phone, we had to phone them 3 times and each time they would just hang up. The original delivery was quick but they forgot part of our order and it took them a while to deliver the missing order. There was no apology or compensation either. The food was nice, very filling and decent portion size.

I came here with my heavily pregnant wife and parents, after being told we need to get my wife a spicy meal to encourage labour! 😁 We arrived and were instantly seated at a pleasant and roomy table. We got some popadoms and dips with drinks whilst we decided what we wanted to eat, so far so good. The waiter had a couple of suggestions for my dad, who didn’t know what he wanted. The food was served quickly and was presented wonderfully. The starters were a good size and tasted great, it left all 4 of us looking forward to the mains. The food was plentiful and tasted great. My dad commented it’s the best curry he’s ever had! (He’s in his 70’s and had a few over the years) it wasn’t oily, which I find with a lot of Indian take away locally and seemed to have an attention to detail. We finished with desert and brandy, the bill was very reasonable and we’d all definitely go back for a repeat!! Incidentally... my wife didn’t go into labour 👶🏻

Must admit I haven’t been to any other curry house around Stanford le hope / Corringham maybe because I have not been disappointed with anything at monty’s. The staff / service and food are all top notch.

Went with friends and enjoyed the food, service was OK however we found it extremely noisy, it was a Saturday but hard floors and lack of soft furnishings make all the noise travel throughout the restaurant.

Have eaten in the restaurant and ordered delivery. Service is excellent,and make you feel very welcome. Food is delicious, we like to try different dishes each time. Would definitely recommend,keep going back.

A simple thing,you might think, order a takeaway on there own website 2hours in advance, arrives late, missing one dish, ring them they say will bring immediately which is the response you might expect, however 30 minutes later it arrives,apologetic they may be however on suggestion of a refund lots of hard of hearing and poor excuses, another curry house to steer clear of, They do not Care about there customers, just money

Been here numerous times and always try a different dish. The food is always hot and flavoursome. The service is always spot on. One thing we didn’t notice is the prawn purée had a bit more heat to it than normal, which was ok for me but my friend who is not a spice fan was finding it had a bit more of a kick than she is used to. She still thoroughly enjoyed it though. Love the slices of oranges served at the end of the meal, cleanses the palette nicely.

Monty's is a great restaurant. The food is exceptional and very good and friendly service. They also do outside catering which is excellent.

Went with a group, food lovely and no complaints. However, on checking the bill discovered that a charge of 75p per container was added to take the food away in containers that didn’t get eaten. Really shocked and queried but advised was correct. Would have left a nice tip but didn’t as peeved me. Unaware of any other Indian in area that does this.

We often have a takeaway from Montys and decided this week to walk up and have dinner. Food always good here, my daughter loves the Chicken in Mango sauce which is lovely once you mentally get past the sweet thick sauce. Would always recommend a trip to Montys

Visited yesterday after a day out. I have left reviews before, but only ever marked down for the slow service or wrong billing. This time it was really good. Food warm and plentiful and the service good. Happy now and looking forward to visiting again

Was here last weekend and had a fantastic meal as usual. Would recommend to book a table, when busy you may wait for your meal, but its worth any wait for a great tasty meal.

We visited Monty's and were greeted like old friends, even though we hadn't been for a while everyone remembered where we liked to sit and even what we normal had to drink and eat. The food was as good as always.

Placed order....advised 40-50mins, more like 30-40. Very friendly driver.

This is our local Indian that we go to regularly, sometimes you may have to wait a little as this is very popular as the food is one of the best around, You may have to book a table as I seen many people turned away as they are fully booked

Went through little bit of a downturn recently but upped their game again and back to usual standard. Great food. Very tasty. Do a great chilli garlic chicken. Service always good with friendly staff.

Returning couple. this is the most consistent tasting restaurant that we have been to over many years. if you like a middle to high in heat this is the one.

Very welcoming staff, who always remember you. A varied menu. The cheese naan is the best there is. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal some 3 weeks ago. This our local Indian. Been away so looking forward to having our weekly fix of a curry. The meals are very consistent with taste, so what you order you get.

Been here many times and food always good. Went in on Saturday night at 7:30 and finally got our food at 8:45.It would have been quicker to order a take away which they seemed to be giving priority to.Not happy at all with this which they finally seemed to recognise after complaining.As I say food good but don't visit at peak times unless you are in no rush.

My wife and I have only been to Monty's once, we had some excellent food,the staff were very attentive and could not have done more.there is no reason for only one visit other than I like to have a beer with my food,( so no driving)

We always order from here its lovely food is delivered hot and on time most of the time very quickly my only reservation is the chicken in the tikka masala is normally quite chewy

I have been lots and had fantastic meals, New Year's Eve I ordered a takeaway at 7pm was told an hour but turned up 2 hours later, I appreciate they was very busy that night and expected a delay but for them to be honest with the length of time, when it did arrive it was stone cold, very disappointed !!!

We popped in on Friday night and I had the special lamb dish OMG it was sooo nice. It was sweet and then just before it got too sweet became sour and just before the tang got too intense the heat came. This is quite a hot curry but very flavoursome. We shared a rice and keema naan which were as you would expect but the saag panner was particularly yummy because it was creamy and not dry. The price was very reasonable and the staff were very helpful and friendly without being too intrusive. I had a really nice time here and would recommend this curry house.

Top notch place great service great food and hard to knock staff very attentive and very welcoming. Would highly recommend this place.

I have been a regular at this curry house for more than 10 years, I moved away from the areas and have never found a curry house like it. Every time I go back to visit friends we all meet here and that would never change, providing the food and standard remain the same as it has done for many many years.The staff and owner are wonderful, friendly and pleasant.... Can't do enough for you. The food is delicious and mouth-wateringly good! I cannot fault the place!!! Well done monteys

Food was okay, noting more than that; thought we try this rather than the Panahar just for a change, sadly not worth the cheaper proces.

Very nice for a quick bite with friends. Filled me up and did the trick. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had but it was by no means bad.

We have been ordering our curries from here for over twenty years, when we first moved into Stanford.The flavours are authentic, staff are so friendly and the food delivery service is great. Food always arrives on time and piping hot.Definitely worth a try, I promise you that you won't be disappointed!

I've used this restaurant many many times over the years and have yet to be disappointed. If I'm honest there are a couple of Indian restaruants in the area all very good I just like the menu in this one. The staff are friendly the food great keenly priced too a bottle of house White is £11 !!! And it's not bad. I would go there 9 out of 10 and then elsewhere just for a change of scenery. You will not be disappointed.

Have been here a few times and personally I have generally found the service rather slow and the food average, but my party likes it here, so I was out-voted. My most recent visit endorsed my previous comments, the service was even worse on this occasion, seemed to be insufficient kitchen staff. Food was alright when it arrived although the fish dish was bland and the onion barjee's overcooked, (this being a common fault in Indian restaurants). Will probably go again because I'll get out-voted, just have to choose something else..!

Had a family meal here. The restaurant was quite buisy. The service was excellent and the food was very nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Would definately return as we had great time.

Eaten here many times always a warm welcome and good service food is served in a very polite way and always hot and plenty of it will always be my 1st choice for a curry go there often with my boyfriend

Have been here many times over the years as I lived in the town for 24years. Came for fathers day celebration the night before fathering Sunday. Food was its usual high standard the staff were friendly and humorous. Some desserts was out of stock but the waiter was charming and we simple reselected no less dissapointed. They do not rip you off on drinks prices like many restaurants do and for 6 people including alcohol our bill was £130. Really well priced in my opinion.

We have had takeaways from Monty 3 or 5 times and found their food really good. Everything was well made the way we like Indian. Friendly , food was hot and ready when time to pick it up. Again very good!!!

Considering this restaurant is down the high street it's not a bad little place. We have been here a few times now and the food has always been pretty good.They are always happy to fit around what you want if you wish to make changes to the food and ingredients used. And the last few times we have come here with friends they have enjoyed it.Staff are always happy to help in any way and it has a nice atmosphere. Food is always good and the prices are quite reasonable to. Always happy to return here for a trip out to enjoy a nice curry.

I have been to a lot of curry houses but this place. Wow. This is no exaggeration. Go here and eat and you will see what I mean. The Tandoori chicken is amazing here. One time a colleague of mine and I ate so much that it hurt to breathe. I've been almost ten times now and I don't live nearby at all. This place is 45 mins plus over dart ford tunnel too. That's how good this place is. Every dish is awesome including the garlic chicken dishes. It is a family run business at heart too. I met the owner there. His staff are friendly and welcome everyone. If you live in Essex or surrounding area pay this restaurant a visit with friends.

Went here new years eve with friends and our kids. Had never been before and was pleasently surprised. The restaurant is quite small but that isnt a problem. The staff were welcoming and the food was lovely. Service was a bit slow but that is no surprise considering it was new years eve and quite busy. Had a really lovely night here and the atomsphere was good, would definately go again!

I went there a few times now so I feel as though I need to write a review about this place. The Chicken Chaat here is the best Chicken Chaat I have ever had. Full of flavour. Service was good and attentive and I have never had a bad experience at this place. A must visit.

We went for a meal as we get our takeaways from there, nice restaurant. The food was excellent a nice different menu from the normal Indian restaurants, but the service was terrible, which was a shame, it was a busy Saturday night, they need to take on more staff for busy times. Don't let this review put you off as the food is excellent!
