Had the Monties breakfast absolutely fantastic food the service is fast the staff are warm and welcoming definitely recommend.

Horrible experience! I politely asked one question about the ingredients of an item due to intolerance to be met with the manager ranting at me telling me “im not the only customer in here” and “they don’t have time to be in and out of the kitchen looking at items”. It was very upsetting and uncalled for. I simply wanted to know if the bread contained soya if so I would have chosen something else. I’m sorry but as an establishment it’s a legal requirement to be able to provide information regarding intolerances and allergies. I stated it wasn’t a full allergy therefore no risk from cross contamination but was told I should “go somewhere else as it’s not on them”. Both the manager and waitress were very rude to the whole group and unaccommodating. No need to speak to customers that way. Do NOT recommend.

Throughly enjoyed my 3 night stay once again. Monties is a very warm welcoming friendly place to stay. The breakfasts are great & plenty of choice. The room was very comfy with a view of the main street. I love this place. I will be back. Sue

Drink was overpriced for what they are. Waitresses were abrupt Can’t put my finger on what the taste was but the coffee (cappuccino) was one of the worst I’ve had for a long time (around that price point) Smoothie was made with fresh fruit that’s a positive however the ratio was all off so the taste wasn’t the greatest was very bitter…

Best tearoom in Bowness! Food is amazing and lovely friendly staff. Dog friendly too. We had the ploughman's platter for 2, it was huge and so delicious. Ham, cheese, eggs, salad, bread, pickles and coleslaw. Fabulous value for money and we'll definitely be back next time we're on holiday.

Popped in for a light lunch and decided on milkshakes and cake. Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly and attentive too.

Hadn’t noticed this cafe on our day trips to Bowness before. Went in and what a Great cafe. Lovely ambience, friendly service and good food and coffee. Will definitely return.

Disappointing visit - ordered lunch and a cake and the lunch came with a hair in. I quietly explained to the waitress however were not interested. I ate what I could, paid and left quickly. Expensive for what it was so wouldn’t recommend however only positive it is dog friendly.

Booked Monties for a one night stay….,perfect location for all our needs…..THE comfiest bed ever …,and a most delicious breakfast in the morning (I had vegetarian option and my husband had full English).. Hassle free check-in and check -out… Will definitely book again.

Visited Monties earlier this year for breakfast and it was lovely but returned today and was disappointed my husband had Greek yogurt with a little fruit and an orange juice and I had toast with avocado and poached eggs and we had a tea and coffee -nearly £27 bit steep for breakfast I think and I had to leave the toast because it was mushy - will probably look elsewhere next time I’m afraid 🙁

I went into Monties for a Breakfast with my family. I found that the staff were very welcoming and the food was very nice. The only negative aspect of our visit was the fact that an obnoxious woman took upon herself to approach me and my family to complain about the sound on my 3 year old daughters phone being too loud whilst we were in the middle of eating our breakfast. I would like to stress that the woman was on the other side of the room and the people on the tables next to us had made no complaints as the volume was not very loud. Also none of the staff had approached us about this so I find it very cheeky that another customer in a smaller party paying less money than us had the cheek to disrupt us whilst we were eating. As a result of this we ending up switching my daughters phone off with the kids tv on which got her very upset as she had nothing to entertain with and one of us then had to take her outside so as a result of this our breakfast was spoilt. Our experience was further worsened when the window which was next to our table was opened by a member of staff as their were complaints that it was too warm inside which is obviously easy to say when your sat on the other side of the room where the obnoxious woman was sat.

Large room with king size very comfy bed. Fairly quiet and good temperature with vertical fan. Full English Breakfast is very tasty, Hot and not greasy. Staff very friendly and always offering more. We will be back.

Had a great lunch at Monties. Food is top quality and the place was dog friendly on a very rainy day. Only question mark about our visit was the staff who fell out with two ladies and their young children for being too messy, even questioning the state of the house they must live in. All very weird!

We stayed over at Montie’s for 2 nights so we could explore the area properly and we had a wonderful stay. Anca was so lovely and accommodating and her Nephew made us a lovely breakfast the next day! Great location - we will be back :)

Popped into Monties after a cruise on the lake. It was about to close but was available for beverages and cakes. I had a nice cream tea which provided me with the energy for the uphill walk back to Windermere station.

Visited Monties on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Couldn't fault the service. A warm welcome on arrival and offered a choice of tables. The staff were cheerful and helpful. Ordered jacket potatoes and a pot of tea. The food was tasty and plentiful. The café is nicely decorated. Would definitely visit again as the staff display great attention to detail and obviously enjoy their jobs. It is nice to visit a care where the staff actually care about the customer experience.

While the staff were very friendly the location smack bang in the middle there are some problems that come with that.. the room at the front road side is constant with traffic the room itself was pleasant enough if not a little tired bed linen could do with an update but to be fair it had all the basics you need, I wouldn't stay here again but it's not entirely there fault, there was a group of should know better adults staying, who seemed happy to have there party in the hall way so the two nights were rudely awoke nobody is on sight to deal with such matters very much left to your own devises.

Very welcoming, dog friendly and great breakfast, and so much food for the money... what more could you want

My girlfriend and I stayed here a few weeks ago and we opted for it as it was one of the cheapest venues around.We were not disappointed. We arrived and Anca and the team had us catered to from the get go. The room was really nice with lovely room service, promptly sorted in the mornings. The breakfast was fantastic, the staff were lovely and it's in a fantastic location for the rest of Bowness. I thoroughly recommend staying here if you want somewhere cheap to stay, an easy way to access the hot spots of Bowness because the hosts are warming and lovely as well.

A great location, beautiful decor, comfortable seating and really friendly staff. The cream tea was great value, and definitely worth a try. The fruit scones were served warm with a good serving of home-made jam and clotted cream. Hot tea served in a teapot, making a change from just being served one cup of tea (enough tea in the pot for two cups).

The portions were good sized but really overpriced for the quality of the food. Service was good and nice environment
