Frozen chips , fish batter chewy , not freshly prepared . expected a real fish and chip at £11.49

Compared to a few years ago the place has went to the dogs, disappointing as was one of the best chippies in Belfast at one stage

Extremely slow poor service, took 30mins to get our food, people came in long after us and got food, we wanted to get drinks too but after 30mins of waiting and had to pay for the food didn’t want to give them any more money, the food once we finally got it was cold too

Refused service despite Google times stating they were open. We literally drove here for food from where we were because of the opening times on Google. They sent another customer to the door to tell us they were closed. When asked about the closing times we were ignored by the female at the counter and only answered by the male sweeping the floor behind. Wholly unprofessional. Manager - take note of those working on 12th June 2024.

£4.20 for half a bag of chips and £8 for a small fish and couldn't even throw a few chips in the box, I say box it was a styrofoam container which should speak to the size of the fish. Gone are the days where this was a really good quality chippy, good portions and reasonably price. Now it's all about money, I can respect that costs have gone up but £4+ for 3 potatoes worth of chips is appalling. Had issues previously with them with incorrect orders and ordering food ahead told to collect in 30 minutes only to get there and wait another 25 minutes cause they've didn't put it on until after we got there which kind of defeats the purpose of calling ahead. So in summary the place is a joke 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thieves. Do not order from here - placed an order on just eat to my hotel and it was never delivered - they claimed it was and when I asked for proof they couldn’t give me any. When I rang them again the first girl said they would deliver the food for me and they were sorry then when I rang again to ask when will we receive the order the second girl who claimed she’s the manager (not sure how they’re in business with their attitude) said they won’t be delivering it and to get in contact with just eat as they wanted nothing to do with it. Again they are thieves.

Ordered a delivery from them that never arrived. Rang them about it twice and the workers lied and said the driver was on his way

Have eaten before here and in other locations . My view is have totally lost interest in what they are doing . Waited in shop to get and walked out door to car . Chips were cold , how can that be ? No one else in shop except the two girls . Asked for coleslaw and paid for that . In preparation then told hadn’t any coleslaw. I worked with them a replaced ( wanted the coleslaw ) replaced reluctantly with pineapple . Had asked for chicken burger to be cut in half ,,, they didn’t do that . Very little taco Sauce in fact very dry . The owners need to seriously up the game the impression I got was disinterest in providing decent hot food . The consequence of that is why would one come back ? Why has food and service changed so much . Come on up your game . It isn’t cheap and therefore should be singing your praises but I cannot .

Just got a takeaway for my mother and daughter out of this place. We just threw it in the bin, wouldn't feed this food to a dog

Best chippy in Belfast by a mile

From both past experience and hearsay I gathered that Monte Carlo care more about getting food out quickly rather than the quality. Nevertheless, I ordered last night as I was very hungry. My food still took over an hour to arrive and I had to call twice to ask where it was. When my food arrived I received the burger pictured below. The fried onions I was charged a pound for came practically raw and lukewarm. I regret not just selecting raw onion which I could’ve got for free. To top it all off the driver didn’t give me my fanta which I paid for. I would give 1 star but my driver came straight back and was very apologetic. In my opinion, Monte Carlo is one of them places you avoid like the plague.

Shocking food didn’t come rang 2 times second time guy said he went to wrong address can you pay him extra delivery!!! Avoid at all costs!!! 1 hour 30 mins wait and have to pay extra deliver which isn’t our fault!!! Never use this scam takeaway chop shop on Cavehill road

MC has really gone down hill. We’ve been going for years but it’s turned from a great wee chippy into one to avoid. Lots of online orders have now been missing items, including tonight’s but today the delivery only came after THREE hours. The food quality and quantity has dropped so it’s not even worth the wait. It’s been one poor experience too many tonight and the muscle memory will need to flex and find a different chippy as I probably should have done a while ago.

Pure stinkin. Was dying for a chippy and as its boxing day it was my only option. I had from here years ago and it wasn't great but thought I'd try it again. Chips were extremely greasy (i know chippy is greasy but this was another level) all brown as if they'd been cooked about 7 times, all crispy chips no proper chips. Chicken was dry and chewy also shiny with grease. Curry was all lumpy. Actually gross, wouldn't eat out of here again.

I order on Uber eats at 12:50. Estimated delivery was 1:30-1:50am. Waited to 1:50am and then rang and asked where my order was but they didn’t seem to know. Then said aww will get that to you in a minute. Waited up to 2am and rang but they had closed. Then checked my phone this morning to say it was delivered at 3:54am, when it wasn’t. Took the money for it and Uber eats support team were terrible and said not eligible for a refund. Be careful !!

Honestly I am disgusted. The food was atrocious. I got home that evening and was sick like a dog the whole night. And for the record this girl lyla I think her name was, terrible customer service. Will not be back and that’s for sure!

Dirty, waited 25 mins on a simple order, staff cursing and using offensive language, a guy with a dirty white tshirt and a filthy bandage on his arm who constantly picked his ear and then put the salt on the chips with his fingers, a girl vaping in the back - just gross! I would have cancelled the order but they were so rough I was nearly afraid. And to top it off, they sent me home with the wrong order. Didn't care as there was no way I was eating from there!! Look at all the reviews and go elsewhere!!

£18 for one meal- , it was cold , over cooked chicken and extremely small. This was like kids party food - can't believe they get away with changing £18 for nuggets. After a long 14 hour shift I was looking forward to something nice to eat, very disappointed. As a person who works in service - I will be letting as many people know how bad this place is. I would hate to be a family ordering the cost would be crazy!

FRIDAY 28 Oct. 8.20pm. Cavehill Road. Ordered 2 fish and a chip. The fish were 6.95 each. Both were small and the fish itself was grey and mushy. Took photo but can't seem to post it here. The staff were friendly but they had music blasting so loudly it was necessary to ask them to repeat themselves. The guy doing pizzas had trousers hanging so low if he had not had underwear on his but crack would have been on full view. The was my first time in Monte Carlo and guess what, it will be my last.

i was home seeing my family and no better way to go to the local chippy we have went to all our lifes so i went in by myself. Jay was at the till and i couldn't hear a word he was saying, had to make him repeat himself multiple times and he couldn't understand when i asked for a sausage supper, thought that was quite self-explanatory. Then after that hassle he sorted me out and i got my meal. It had dandruff and had ginger hairs in the sausage. Would never go back and had put me off chippys completely.

Ordered delivery to 200 meters away as person eating is disabled. Ordered at midnight. Said food was on way at 1am. Rang at 25 past 1 and was told driver had went to wrong address. Told them I'd walk up and collect the order they havnt delivered to 200 meters away after an hour and a half yet. Not sure what the craic was still but eventually got sent on with wrong order. Told them it was wrong and was argued it was my addresses delivery. Agreed it was their mistake again and was given refund. Agreed to remake order fresh. Not long home foods in the bin least it was free, got burger all the way wrong, chips are clearly what's been cooked off early so cooks can get a spliff in before closing, actually gave me the other addresses cold wrong order for my troubles lol. And a free tin. Won't be back. Avoid the place, can't miss it, some kid likes to rev his burnt out BMW's engine outside to make himself feel better about something. Strange spot lol. Meaty chip I ordered had so much garlic sauce on it, it was poisoned. It was also wildly overpriced for what it was. This is not the first time over the last two years Monte has fallen far below what was expected for the price. I've been a long customer of Monte's and WILL NOT be back. Please improve for future customers.

The curry sauce cured my back pain. I have been struggling with this for years and instantly, all the pain left my body. A mouthwatering mix of beautiful sensation and delightful curry undertones. The staff were incredibly friendly and n hospitable. Will be recommending this to everyone I know!

Ordered a regular sliced chicken supper for collection over the phone as I have done on numerous occasions. Felt that £10.55 was somewhat expensive. So asked Nathan to check. Upon checking online myself it was £7.95. I was then advised to leave a review on google for the owner to respond. Which this is. I must say if it truly is over £10 for this I will no longer be indulging. Thanks

As a visitor to belfast thought we would give this place a go .but we were sorely dissatisfied. Fish definitely wasn't right chips were like rubber . Really Greasy and very overpriced .the whole lot went in the bin almost £30 for.2 fish and chips

Ordered after a concert for delivery to our hotel. Told it would be delivered between 1-1.20am. Never came so we rang and asked and was left on hold for about 10 mins, so I rang again and they answered and was told the food was delivered ‘ages ago’ and was left with the reception staff. She also said she had no contact for us to let us know even tho our number is used for just eat. Then we went down and the reception staff told us there was no food left there, so I rang again and was told ‘our driver said he delivered it’ and when I said it defo wasn’t she said to hang on, and then I was left on the phone for ages and they never came back to me. OBVIOUS SCAM!! Knew I’d get fed up and hang up, tramps the lot of them just do not order or waste your money on these absolute scumbag wasters

Staff are ignorant and don’t take nothing you say on board. Very cheeky also and playing with their hair. Stick hair nets on your heads. Listen to customers or get a hearing aid

Got the Ultimate Burger recommended by Gerard and it did not disappoint! Really filling and very tasty! Staff were so friendly and approachable and up for a laugh. It's now become our go-to spot in Belfast for a chippy!

Absolutely awful. Burger...burnt and hard..liberally pure black. They must have seen that sending it out. Chips...reheated obviously..brown and hard. Unbelievable how awful it was. If this place is one of best I'd hate to see the worst.

I ordered the quarter pounder meal deal that comes with a burger, chips, and a drink. The taste is okay, not too bad for a £7.99 meal. My only concern is that their opening hours on the website don't match with the reality, as the store closed when i went there at 2pm, in which the store should've been opened for 2 hours.

I have been to Monte Carlo many time, and on this occasion I ordered a cheesy chip. When I was eating it at home I noticed something hard when I was chewing, and it stabbed my tongue and I almost swallowed it. It was a metal staple. I was disgusted and searched the rest of my food and found a second one (left). I am absolutely appalled at the clear lack of care put into food prep. Posting this so it does not happen to anyone else as this could cause serious harm if swallowed. I will never be back. Do better Monte Carlo.

Food has gone significantly downhill since they redid their menu a few months ago, but one thing that hasn't changed is the consistently obnoxious attitudes from the ladies that work here - teach them some manners or send them packing and hire some folks with a bit of class
