Monsoon Indian Cuisine in Rochford

Meal was excellent, one of the best Indians I have had in a long time. Lamb Samosa was full of nice tasty lamb, Naan bread was hot, fluffy and stuffed with coconut and the Xacuti Chicken was very different but very enjoyable, savoury with a hint of sweetness with a large breast of chicken that was moist and well seasoned. And to top of the experience the delivery driver was very charming and cracking jokes! would definitely recommend!

Delivered by the smartest dressed delivery guy and the food as always was piping hot and by far the best tasting Indian around .

Can’t fault them and the delivery guy is the friendliest person you will ever meet and he really cares about the service and his customers

Food was amazing the chicken was fresh to death and so tender. First time trying the monsoon worth every penny.

Absolutely loved every mouthful, it was just what I needed. I'd also like to say what a lovely delivery man, he gave me such a laugh over his little tease that he'd come here and forgotten the food, he was brilliant. What no one knew is that early this morning my flatmate was rushed into hospital, and this was the "only" laugh I've had today, thank him for me, he was brilliant. thank you for the food also delicious.

friendly driver, polite and dog friendly. Bhuna had no taste at all. bombay pots also not much taste, could taste a lit of water in them. chips are fries at best. very disappointed ad usually have a good meal from here

Went here for dinner with my husband today n a night away. Firstly staff were so lovely! Attentive without being overly attentive. The food…..been too many Indian restaurants over the years. And honestly this was the best one Iv ever been to! It was hot fresh and the flavours were out of this world! Not oily. Would drive the hour away that we live to eat here again! Price was good as well! Not a bad word too say

Ordered the chilli masala but it was no hotter than a korma

The food was excellent quality and the menu has some interesting options compared with the average curry place but we both found our main dishes much too sweet (lamb passanda and lamb peshwari). We’d still order from them again but won’t order anything with cream in future. For reference, I am not keen on anything sweet but my partner has a sweet tooth.

Very poor food! Korma was nothing like a korma and popadoms was soggy! Portion size is not enough to feed a small child!

Been here a number of times now always good food and great friendly staff. Prices are good and always busy i would definitely book a table

We arrived at 6.30 pm without a reservation and although they were very busy, they accommodated us. The service was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely will book next time!

They need to give their drivers better bags that hold heat everything was cold yet othe restaurants much further away keep the food hot

Chose mainly vegetarian side dishes and a biryani. The mushrooms were a bit bland but everything else was great

Pathetic attempt at a meal, I live round the corner. Not only was the food an hour late, it was stone cold and flavourless. Will go back to New Indya in future

Unfortunately we didn’t receive all of our order (a whole tandoori chicken arrived as a half). The food was not as warm as usual but I put that down to it being colder outside and my salmon tandoori started was quite overcooked. The restaurant did call to query if we’d received our order, so I pointed out the chicken was incorrect. They apologised and offered to deliver the rest later or they could refund me. I opted for a refund and was told they’d do it over the next couple of days. Just hoping

Great service and unbelievable food

I don't normally give reviews but on this occasion I feel it's justified. Included in a large order placed on Saturday night, I ordered Tandoori chicken & Lamb chops. Unfortunately both were beyond edible. Both so over cooked. Each lamb chop was black & burnt. The chicken was also cooked to the same disappointed standard. The sides ordered were fine & set meal for 2 I can't fault but for £64 & meat is the main contributing element to any meal, we are so disappointed & will consider another alternative to future orders

1st time order boy sure I'll be back. I had a standard Chicken curry that was in a thin watery sauce and lacked much flavour or seasoning. I ordered chips alongside which were oven fries that arrived cold and shrivelled.

This is our local restaurant, we don’t eat here often due to price but price reflects the lovely food. Popped in last night and restaurant was empty they were closing up. This was quite early for them as we have previously eaten here. Said they could do is a takeaway which was fine by us. Got home with food, and this was piping hot so had high hopes. Food was tasteless and full of water. Both dishes were really poor. The only thing nice was the poppadoms! There was actually a pool of water on my plate, absolute worst food I’ve had. What a very expensive waste to be honest. If the restaurant wasn’t closed I would have taken the food back. What an absolute shame as this was once a great place but to waste so much money I won’t bother trying again.

Madras Curry was very watery and bland unfortunately

Should’ve took 50-65 mins and it took 80 mins. Rice was the only hot disk. Naan was freezing and the rest Luke warm at best.

Have been using this restaurant for sometime but have found that it has been going down hill but gave it another chance tonight & got to say it will definitely be the last, ordered a meat curry (yes I no very safe) only had 4 very small peices of meat 1 of which was fat, bland & sauce looked like coloured water, did phone them only to be meet with man telling me that if I wanted more taste I should have gone for something else & was happy to recommend something, totally missing the point.....Very sad .

Lovely welcome, busy place, always a good sign. House wine absolutely perfect for a small town restaurant and the papadoms and spices standard, but well presented and impossible to find fault. The service outstanding. The bhona chicken tikka was absolutely divine; I’ve never had such well cooked chicken on a budget such as this. Well done. I contrast with one of the other Asian restaurants in Rochford. No comparison. Faultless in every way.

No taste to rice, no spinach in sag aloo. Passada was lovely as was the keema nan and mushrooms

Our waiter had a cold, kept clearing his throat making disgusting noises every 2 minutes. The food was the worst I've ever had, save yourself the money and go buy an Indian ready meal from the supermarkets, the quality will be much better. Dirty

Always use monsoon but part of our delivery was missing which was a bit disappointing, rang them and said would get those items free next time hope thay remember
