I only completed the above boxes to get to the review section. our children gave us a voucher for Christmas. When we tried to book it was temporarily closed. we have tried calling & emailing on numerous occasions without success. Not one reply. i even sent an email to the owner via LinkedIn, again with no reply. very disappointed with the owners business ethics

We booked for a large group private dining business event, and had to arrange everything at a distance. Sandro and team were flexible, professional and responsive in all arrangements, and accommodated all our needs, from table arrangements to dietary requirements. The staff were capable and experienced in managing groups and extremely friendly. Service on the night was attentive and the food was great. Highly recommended!

Fantastic restaurant. As a group we had the tasting menu which was amazing, especially paired with all the various wines. The sommelier was very knowledgeable, as was the host. Would definitely recommend Mono and we will be back in the new year.

Sandro and the team did an amazing job for our Christmas office night out which we had in their private dining room. The staff were really attentive and the food was fantastic. We were very well looked after and I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Looking for something special for our anniversary, we decided to try the 7 course tasting menu, with paired drinks. It's clear the kitchen had a great time coming up with the dishes, and that level of enthusiasm and skill was evident in every bite. We were especially impressed with the Monk-fish, Venison Carpaccio and Beef Cheeks; all of which went incredibly well with the paired wines. The service matched the cooking, with friendly, knowledgeable and engaging front of house crew that made the time we were there relaxed and enjoyable. Also whisky in wine. Genius.

I dont normally leave reviews but my experience at mono was so good i had to. Everything about our visit was perfect. From the minute we walked in the service was exceptional. The decor is immaculate giving a fine dining experience. The staffs knowledge and advise on food and wine was terrific. I had the venision and capers starter it was melt in mouth. Followed by monkfish wellington. All our table was pleased with the food including the lil' ones. It was the highlight of our dining experiences in Edinburgh. Cant wait to return. Highly recommend a visit. If i could give more stars i would.

Mono has a nice calming atmosphere and incredible staff who always do their upmost best to make the dining experience top notch.

Calm and heartwarming environment when walking in. Immediately being offered to take our jackets which is a nice touch. Food was incredibly delicious - venison starter made so soft that it literally melts in your mouth. Monkfish Wellington did not disappoint as well. Wine list even though quite intimidating from the first look was explained perfectly by the staff. Great place! Definitely worth coming back!

Wonder if the chef has been in Italy, as the menu is a far cry from an Italian authentic menu. It's from bad to pretty bad. Oversalted, the bread served even is a joke. Wouldn't recommend, Edinburgh has far better restaurants for the fraction of the price. Ruined evening

I highly recommend you to dine at Mono if you haven’t before! The food was exceptional, from the starters to dessert, everything met my expectations, and more. Not only that, the staff are so friendly and nice, making our evening even better. I cannot wait to return back again. Always a pleasure. Thank you Mono.

It is rare when a restaurant brings ALL elements together in a beautiful harmony, but Mono does it. The atmosphere, service, menu, food and presentation are all beautiful and go beyond delicious to magical. We had an early reservation (since they do book up), and were promptly seated. Our server (who's name we didn't get, but a young lady who's getting a marketing degree), was a delight. She walked us through the menu and was perfectly attentive throughout our meal. For starters we had bread (delicious selection), caprese and the zucchini cannoli. The cheese on the caprese was as good as anything we've had in Italy. The cannoli was a different take on the classic using zucchini instead of the typical shell, and it was lighter and delicious. For our entree we had the steak, mezze alla genovese (pasta with meat) and mixed vegetables. The steak was fabulous and the mezze alla genovese (a new dish for me) was spectacular. For a Michellin restaurant the portions were large. For desert we shared the creme brulle, which was the most beautiful desert I've ever seen.

Fantastic service, delicious food and amazing drinks. I would recommend the great Ragu pasta and passion fruit martini.
