Ok. My taste buds were transported to Japan for a hot minute because the sushi sashimi platter was so fresh 🧑🏻‍🍳💋 great service and friendly staff as well, always came here for drinks but now they serve food as well, definitely will be back 💯

First 5 star review I hv ever made because of the excellent environment and Japanese food. I am especially bloomed by the Uni sushi, which I long waited for. I also finished today with an excellent mocktail. Made my day!

Good food, friendly staff and nice vibe

Such a great time, with great service from Joe and Lauren, very knowledgeable about the sake they provide which is bespoke to your tastes and preferences. Not only that but the atmosphere of music and the occasional overhearing of one liners from Joe, made the night a wonderful one for me and my partner. 100% recommend for any couple or party. I will be returning to this establishment again. -Omar

Absolutely fantastic place. I went with a group of friends and the atmosphere was relaxing. We had a great catch up with fantastic food and drinks. Kevin was absolutely lovely and made delicious drinks. If you have the opportunity to stop by, you absolutely should. Some of the ingredients are made in-house and I think it makes this place extra special.

What a brilliant bar hidden beneath the high rise of Manchester! Not only were the drinks delicious the owner and staff were lovely enough to walk me though my first sips of sake and our first game of Cambio Lovely staff, delicious drinks, fantastic atmosphere We will be returning for your delicous sake and upcoming sushi collaboration!

Monkey trio is amazing for drinks and a meal as a couple or with a group of friends all the staff are extremely friendly and polite.

My favourite bar in manchester, great vibes, food and booze. Honestly Kevin is a magician when it comes to cocktails I'm yet to be dissapointed by anything he's suggested if you aren't sure what to get just ask I'm positive you won't regret it. Also a fantastic date spot, can't recommend this place highly enough.

Best cocktails and sake in town.

We had the tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. Both were really tasty and authentic. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They explained and recommended the drinks that would go well with the food. So we ended up with Yuzu sake and non alcohilic Yuzu High Ball. They're refreshing and went smoothly with the food. We love the atmosphere, although it's small but cozy. We will be back to try the sake flight.

Me my partner and child went here and sat down for a ramen I can't complain about the taste as it was nice however after paying I overheard the waiter telling another customer about a 2 for 1 deal on the ramen so I asked did I hear right and he said yes then I asked why we weren't told of the deal and paid full price he couldn't answer me, I then asked for an orange juice for my child and 4 days later I'm still waiting, the place was empty apart from another couple so it baffles me as to why the service was so poor. I wouldn't recommend this place I would recommend Gregg's over this place.

I love the vibe. Staff there is friendly and passion to sake. They had a brief introduction with us. The sake there is really nice. I love the sparkling one which we did not even have in Japan. We got some samples and recommendations from staff. We did pre-order shushi there, and the quality is way better than expectation. I will bring my friend here again when they visit Manchester. Update on 17 Feb: They are now serving Ramen, the noodle texture and broth were decent. The egg is a bit too salty probably due the amount of soy sauce. The off menu sake is awesome as usual!

A small cosy bar, good vibes and nice cocktails too. The service was a little slow, however it was only one person working on the bar. I like how they have little booth seats nearby the windows, which are cosy and quite relaxing.

Delicious ramen! At the moment they have ramen for only £10 and it is so yummy! We also had mango sake and cherry&peach sake and they were both delicious. The atmosphere was a bit quiet, the staff was great tho!

Free ramen advertised from 13:00 and when we got there they told us they were out! Even on the menu it says they don’t serve until 13:00 and yet the staff, who were severely lacking, said it was from 12:00 yet that wasn’t said anywhere!

The cocktails are good, the service was really nice and efficient. Good cosy atmosphere, great for a date.

Just stopped by for drinks, the staff were very nice and got us seated immediately. The staff was also nice to explain their menu and what they have in their specials. Sake is a must try, and if you don't know what else to order, they'll ask your favourites and make a cocktail based off if that. Finger food option is nice touch too.

Honestly such a chill ambience in here, great selection of Sake, yummy little bar snack nibbles and sushi in the day time. The staff were so attentive and kind too. There’s also loads of plugs if you’re coming in the day time to do work!

Albeit the restaurant itself is a bit small, the atmosphere it gives out is that of a 5* restaurant. The service and care provided were exemplary! We were tended to almost immediately, given recommendations, and mine and my partners tastes accounted for. The food, AMAZING! We had the Unagi with eel and beef, and paired it with some Sake and the Matcha Beer. Matcha beer was not my favourite but goes extremely well with the food. The sake was nice and smooth, warming us through the colder night. For a nice dinner for two, with a few drinks each (about 2 or 3 each) we spent roughly £70. The price is not cheap, don't get me wrong, but it also is not rocket high for what you get. An excellent date spot for that special one in your life.

Love this place. We stumbled across it two weeks ago and we had such a great evening decided to book again for a meal. Lauren looked after us and is truly credit to the team. Great place overall; all the staff are amazing too.

Loved the vibe in here as it's only small and quite cosy on the inside. Staff were very knowledgeable as they took us through the Sake taster course. Would definitely come back to try a few of the cocktails.

We happened upon Monkey Trio by accident and we're intrigued by the Sake menu, having never really tried sake. The owner/manager was extremely warm and welcoming. He was incredibly polite and very knowledgeable and happy to introduce us newbies to the concept of sake cocktails. What we were served were truly exquisite. Incredibly well balanced and delicately flavoured cocktails. The quality of the ingredients was clearly very high and the range on offer was vast and ever changing. Would highly recommend to anyone, whether a lover of sake or up for trying new things. Very, very, very good experience!! We didn't have any food but we saw others eating and it looked great!

Me and my wife came shortly after Monkey Trio had opened. Kevin is super friendly and personable, we always love talking to him and will always take on his recommendations. The place has a great vibe and lovely furnishings. Many different Sakes to try, definitely recommend tasting them all to see which one fits your pallet the best.

Honestly one of the best small bar experiences i’ve ever had. Having been a bartender for years, this tiny little place blew me away with the incredible drinks they offer, the ability to customise their menu to your liking, and just the incredible professionalism and amazing service they provided. The bartender was next to none in terms of drinks knowledge and customer service, and the bar itself sources ingredients locally in order to create seasonal drinks. Only been open for a few months but the amount of hard work, thought and effort that’s gone into opening Monkey Trio is more than impressive. If anyone was looking for drinks in Manchester city centre, this place would be the first on my list of recommendations

Amazing bar! We had a fantastic night sampling many sakes that the owner chose based on our tastes. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff who made our night even better. Definitely a place to visit and we will be back!

We had the ube seasonal cocktail a couple of sake carafe's. It was all delicious and the bar tender was great at recommending different sakes to try. Great night

Popped in here last night for some delicious sake. Really nice and relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and there is clearly a lot of effort and thought gone into the drinks menu. Looking forward to going back.

After being there the first time we knew that’s gonna be one of our favorite spots in Manchester Love how passionate and knowledgeable the owner-Kevin is towards sake and all the little things in the bar, he’s also very friendly and chatty, can always learn something new from him! Drink wise is just amazing, if you’re looking for a place to have some decent sake this is it!! Matcha beer is good for a try if you like matcha, and beer 😂(especially Asahi) Honestly can’t wait to visit again!

Great selection of sake and spirits and the overall vibe is super friendly and welcoming. Also they have a selection of bar snacks which is always a bonus! A super underrated hidden gem

Seriously knowledgeable manager. Seriously delicious Saki in a very cool, intimate bar. Dangerously good. Think Jiro Dreams of Sushi meets a great night out!
