Had breakfast here on multiple occasions, always great. Staff are good, and place is kept pretty clean

Been here today for a Birthday lunch, 10 of us. We were in the annexe felt forgotten by staff. No one checking everything ok. Play area for kids doesn't exist anymore, 3 disappointed children .

I ordered beer battered fish it was very slimey, peas were cold, chips were nice. Ordered big stack burger dry, bland (no flavour) coleslaw was lukewarm warm chips were nice. Ordered cheese and bacon burger (plain only bacon) half a rasher of bacon, burger was basically black, taste like rubber had to smother it in ketchup sauce to get some taste. Not impressed! Not worth £60!

What a lovely day spent in a lovely garden with the kids playing and the adults able to enjoy their meals and drinks. Highly recommend the Monkey Puzzle for all parents looking for a day out that both kids and adults can enjoy. Friendly staff, although a little bit understaffed for a sunny Saturday where everyone wanted to be outside and two big birthday party events going on a the same time. Felt sorry for the staff running around trying to keep everyone happy...

Invariably pleasant , the food is affordable and enjoyable , the staff for breakfast and evening meal are approachable and helpful , well used and clean . The toilets are serviceable and if there's a problem bring it to the attention of a member of staff . Nothing gets sorted by whining and grissling to your comrades . Report a problem . The more I use this pub the more I like it .

My daughter had her 18th birthday meal here, we were told we had to hurry and order food as the chef was going home at 8pm little disappointed my the attitude of the staff!

I thought I booked a table for last Saturday only to be told I hadn't they then said the had been to busy and food was not be served disappointed go regularly why can't you give confirmation of booking some times you book and you get told just find any table you like

Poor Service and Rude Treatment big disappointment regarding the service I received during my recent visit]. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a waitress who, rather than welcoming me, spoke to me in a dismissive and rude manner because I had not made a reservation. I understand that reservations are important, but the lack of courtesy in her tone was quite off-putting. When I brought my concerns to the attention of the manager, I was further disheartened by his response. Instead of addressing my complaint with understanding and professionalism, he chose to speak over me and used my previous visits as a means to dismiss my current experience. I found it particularly troubling that he referenced my past decision to share some of my meal with my children, who have sensory issues, as a way to undermine my concerns. This felt not only unprofessional, but also insensitive to the challenges my family faces. I believe that every customer deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their dining habits or previous experiences. I was hoping for a constructive dialogue, but instead, I was met with a lack of understanding and an unwillingness to acknowledge the validity of my feelings. I have always enjoyed dining here in the past, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. I hope you will take my feedback seriously and work towards improving the training and approach of your staff, particularly in handling customer complaints with empathy and respect.

first visit today, met up for breakfast with a mate at 8.30am, friendly male member of staff helped us with the parking registration, then greeted by a smiley friendly lady, where she explained what was on offer and where everything was, the restaurant was clean and tidy, food was hot and fresh, great little find, friendly staff with lovely food, will be back

Awful service staff none existent since when did the waitress/waitresses stop coming to check on customers to see if they are ready for the main course after someone's had a starter. Table of 8 4 meals came first along with the starter yet we all ordered at the same time with the same table number. Then the rest of the guest's had to watch and wait for their food for 40+ minutes all because no one came to find out if he was finished with his starter, 2 orders were wrong and one was cold the whole night was awful What has happened to this place

I had been told this was a great Sunday carvery. Unfortunately the chef(apparently new behind the counter)cutting the meat cut it so thin you could just about see through it. His attempts at cutting it so thin meant his knife was constantly falling off the edge of the meat, need i say more. So an expensive meal for a more or less a plate of vegetables. Very disappointing

We had a Family Meeting & Chris the Manager Made sure everything was as Requested. The Wine list is Very Good Value, The Draught Beers are kept well & the Food is also Cooked & presented Well.

Hi. Please could you review your systems and process for Table bookings. Despite booking a table. The restaurant was unable to cook until after 4pm. We booked for 3.15pm. Despite the Manager of the site Alicia. Contacting Brewers Guest Services to inform them that due to a lack of resources. They were unable to accept any further bookings. We had travelled 30 mins to get to the site. 3 kids in tow. I've rated the staff onsite 5*****'s as I feel they have not had the resources to carry out their basic work.

Why are there never any staff serving behind the bar?! Atmosphere is awful, staff moaning and bitching about managers to basically every customer. If you’re not happy working there then leave. Awful experience

The Monkey Puzzle is a really nice place to go. The staff are always lovely, the food to description and the decor and atmosphere are lovely. The only thing I would say is that the bar is often understaffed. It can be extremely busy and only one or two members of staff on shift to take bar orders (you also order food through the bar). This is often due to their affiliation with the Premier Inn next door and reservations within the restaurant. So it can be an absolute hit and miss on possibility of getting served in good time. That being said, the staff are good, particularly an older woman with short grey hair and glasses. I've never had a bad interaction with her.

Waiter hours for food and when it did finally arrive it was cold. Woman serving was nice and helpful but lack of staff rally showed. Toilets were disgusting also

The day we went, they had no chips at all, and the staff did their best under great pressure. The food served was very good for the price. Profiteroles were yummy.

Friendly staff, but very slow service - seemed very short staffed - an hour for main and over an hour for ice cream. Main arrived cold and tasted microwaved.

Team at Monkey Puzzle always go above and beyond and deserve a special mention for being ahead of the Pack!

Waiter came and picked up my partners empty plate and then proceeded to empty near by tables by placing large tray on our table and scrapped the food of the other plates and all the while I was still eating my lunch, this is unacceptable.

Went for our first Sunday roast at the monkey puzzle, it was great! Chatted to Lukas who carved the meats, he was very friendly and funny. Will definitely come back here again.

Top notch food at a decent price.

Had a brilliant night, it was busy but the staff found time to talk to us and help us as we had a couple if allergy in our group. The 2 for 12 pounds on cocktails went down lovely and we all left happy

Came to visit my son , we went out to monkey puzzle , for something eat , we had good service and food came out quick and lovely, unfortunately no photos but we had nachos for starter and their special steak for main and the steak melted in your mouth, perfect steak thank you

Not too bad for a Brewers Fayre. Meal was enjoyable, atmosphere was pleasant and prices were reasonable. It was a business trip but I would visit again if in the area.

Went to monkey puzzle tree with family, we had a booking at 5pm they hardly had any meat got told its a 20 minute wait for more stuff to come out then got told there was only 1 meat left and not alot left,we ask if we could cancel our order and place another order which we can do,but it's a hour wait so we got a refund and left the pub and went to another pub,not happy

Terrible attitude by staff, slow service and crap food

Disappointed, I went for a Sunday roast, and the meat is supposed to be the hero of the dish, but my meat was cut so paper thin it dissolved into the gravey. Then, losing our pudding having to give then the recipe as proof. When the "found it" the sticky toffee and custard was cold, and the toffee was like rubber. Not my best experience.

Perfect food, nicest mixed grill I've had. 5 star all the way with staff and food.

Friendly and helpful staff and great food served with a smile. Very comfortable pub and very kid friendly perfect for a family meal at an affordable price. Couldn’t recommend more.

The venue met expectations, clean, good staff who were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Lovely roast dinners were had and it was nice to eat and relax over good food. Will definitely go again.

Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The evening meal was nicely presented and hot. Breakfast was great, and again the enthusiasm of the chap who welcomed us was tremendous.

The bloke at the bar was chatty and friendly. The food was as you'd expect but the big shame was the manager. Whilst they wanted to be chatty, I did not think it was professional to scold staff in front of customers and was a little taken aback at a comment directed towards me. They couldn't even take us to our table and just gave a quick instruction.

Staying at the next door hotel on business. Excluding breakfast I’ve had 7 evening meals. The food is what you’d expect, good honest pub food, However every single meal has had a problem, bits missing, sometimes not arriving at all and once the wrong food. The latest meal was correct but arrived wrapped in cling film. Wrong table I guess. I’ll continue to use Monkey Puzzle but unlike some pubs I really don’t like the whole experience

Love the Sunday roast, restaurant is a good size lots of seating and fab outdoor space. Have never had a bad experience here. Food and service fab.

What a miserable place... Smells like unchanged cooking oil like absolutely stank. It hit me as soon as I walked in and I regretted the dry clean only dress. The drinks selection is as basic as you can get but priced like it's premium. Their 'buffet' is a load of pre-cooked supermarket rubbish and only suitable for someone with the appetite of a gnat. Staff look like they are being held hostage and if anything slightly out of the ordinary happens they can't/won't do anything. Don't blame them - I'd give up too. Unless you're the guy who decides to randomly accuse people of stealing and try to ruin the party they've spent over £500 on. Not exactly wealthy people either, just a couple who have saved up to celebrate their anniversary with their young family. And their guests spent a chunk of money. Without which the place would have been deserted. I have the fun of visiting all the finalists for the Pub of the Year competition. This one has given me a great comparison as the worst I've ever been in.

This is a lovely brewers fayre with a lovely garden. I go to this one a lot as it in the middle so perfect for family meet ups. The staff are excellent very helpful and the grandkids loved the slides in the garden. It a large spacious restaurant.

Absolutely disgraceful, a “couldn’t care” staff. Ordered 4 meals for my wife and I and two granddaughters .my wife and I ordered gammon, one with egg and one with pineapple. The meals for us turned up as gammon steak with neither egg or pineapple after about 45 minutes. When I complained the server went away and returned about 20 minutes later with two plates each containing a slice of pineapple with a fried egg on top., still no sign of our granddaughters meals. When I complained to a member of staff I assume that the manager became involved where she accused me and my wife of upsetting the staff. Once again a case of people using the staff harassment statement to suppress any criticism of deplorable service. We left with our granddaughters in tears. What a brilliant advert for a very badly run restaurant. There were several other couples that were in a similar situation as we were.

Only 2 bar staff working, causing major waiting time

We went on a sunny Sunday they seemed a bit short staffed so nobody was around to greet customers which for us wasn't an issue as we just asked at the bar but I did see a couple of times people waiting to be seated and one of the waiters effectively shouting across the restaurant for them to take a seat. Having said that the server we had was brilliant. Food was decent we had the roast carvery which was lovely

The mixed grill was excellent, but the mega burger was disappointing, far too small 😑 However I visited a Beefeater on Sunday that was a terrible experience, so I will never complain about Brewers Fayre in comparison, strange as they're both the same chain.

Really lovely staff, quick service and friendly atmosphere.

Main guy with the bad beard and glasses is a bully, nasty to the really pleasant worker in red, who was very helpful and speeding around to accommodate everyone, even getting my aunt gluten free bread and toasting it for her, and then offering us the same. I didn’t get his name as there was no tag but the guy was very polite. And the man on the door was far from, and nasty. Heard by customers unnecessarily berating staff that are performing better than him.

A welcoming restaurant, staff friendly and some even recognised us from previous stays. The barman/manager was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast ladies were also brilliant, especially as family living nearby had joined us for breakfast. We stay in the area regularly and will be happy to use the brewers fayre again

Beat brewers fare we visited. The food tased delicious,( we had breakfast.) the staff very friendly and helpful. Tables and floors were clean , not like in other locations. I would highly recommend to visit and taste the delicious breakfast. Thank you to all staff

Food is pretty terrible and expensive at that. Things are just warmed up in the microwave and pre made.

Awful experience… waited over 1.5hours for food and still didn’t get everything we ordered. Despite us being very patient and polite to the waiting staff, the manager was incredibly rude and very unprofessional towards us when we quite rightly raised our concerns. The staff were doing their best but are obviously being let down by poor leadership from their manager. I would strongly recommend avoiding this awful place!

For the last two Sundays, my family and my best friends family have eaten here. Both times they have been short staffed so food has taken longer than usual, but this didn't bother us as the kids had the play area outside. What did catch our eye though was an employee named Mark. Both evenings he had either stayed on longer than his shift to help out or come back after finishing work, he was so polite and helpful to everyone and even though he was quite clearly rushed off his feet, he always made sure he had a quick chat. He is honestly a great asset to the monkey puzzle. Alyshia (sorry if spelt wrong!) Was also amazing and very attentive to our children's needs and so easy to talk to! I think we've found our new eating place 😌 Keep up the good work guys!

I've been coming here for a long time the food is outstanding never a bad meal the Sunday carvery is the best the food the chef I look forward to my Sunday lunch even when we come on a weekday the food again is gorgeous and not just that the staff are brilliant especially the 2 who work behind the bar on a Sunday forgot there names and the stall that clear the tables are a diamond they make us feel at home I know it's there job but 10 out of 10 also well done 👏 to the chefs and kitchen staff also the managers thankyou all for doing a brilliant job 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sunday toast carvery, unlimited soft drinks and nice garden with play area. Car park big enought, didn't have any problem to find spot

Sunday lunch was really and great value. Slightly marred by a hen party with very piercing voices.

It's good for the play park in the garden for children, otherwise the food was disappointing. Dried carrot sticks, hard mash potato and not as described adult meals. For the price paid and the food served, not worth it. Won't be going back.

First time going we arrived about 2pm for a food of some sort, we ordered steak salad which was fine also steak and chips ..chips were cold,and a double burger with chips and coleslaw,chips were cold coleslaw was hiding behind the burger bun, at least the burger was hot and tasty we wouldn't have minded if it was busy but it wasn't so no excuse for cold food ...we will go again to be fair and give it another go we use the beefeater in farnham all the time for breakfast but it's closing soon so we thought we would venture out

At first the staff were not clued up on intolerances. But once the manager came along she was very helpful and made changes to where we needed it. Atmosphere was very quiet for a Friday night. Even with an England football game on. Breakfast was ok. No signs out for intolerances. Small playground for kids which is always a bonus for families.

Sorry but food took forever and when it came it definitely lacked in standard , onions rings were burnt and the steaks were overly chewy which we left. It was our wedding anniversary to boot staff not interested in our comments at the end of the meal. We will not be returning or recommending .

Waiting over an hour the kids have now been served cold food. We are still waiting!

Breakfast was fantastic as always with a premier inn breakfast, everything well catered for. We also had an evening meal here on our first night and the adults had steak and a mixed grill and both meals were fantastic. Kids pizza and fish bites were great too. Love that there's a hidden beer garden with a play area round the back too

Celebrating a family birthday in the function room on Sunday. We all had the carvery, which was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. Big play area for children and made the dog in our group a bowl of water to cool down! Definitely would visit again. Thank you for making it a lovely celebration.

Food wasn't great. Everything from grill was dry/ burnt. Few of us had bad stomachs the day after. The waiter was eating potato's from the carvery with his bare hands while standing over the carvery.

I was pleasantly surprised when stopping here for lunch today - the staff were attentive and prompt, the restaurant and facilities were clean and in good order, kids outside play area was a hit and reasonably priced for the area. Whilst they do not offer order from table there was clear signage about this and the queue at the bar moved swiftly. Will certainly be returning in the future.

Went for a birthday which we pre booked I said 5 of us booked they said sit anywhere apart from the 2 booked tables. I said we are booked so pointed to a table. When it came to ordering food they said have to go to bar where there was one person serving and about 6 persons awaiting. I went back to restaurant side where 3 were stood, I asked if anyone else was.taking orders eventually came and served us. Took a while to bring out food.

Ordered food at 150 received food at 3pm

Apparently their breakfast buffet is on until 11am. Got there at 10:20 and they told me that there was no point sitting down as they were going to start putting the food away. Maybe change the time on your website to reflect this. Waste of time.
