Fantastic venue to meet our requirements. Good food and drink available. Clean and tidy. Helpful staff.

The bloke at the bar was chatty and friendly. The food was as you'd expect but the big shame was the manager. Whilst they wanted to be chatty, I did not think it was professional to scold staff in front of customers and was a little taken aback at a comment directed towards me. They couldn't even take us to our table and just gave a quick instruction.

Staying at the next door hotel on business. Excluding breakfast I’ve had 7 evening meals. The food is what you’d expect, good honest pub food, However every single meal has had a problem, bits missing, sometimes not arriving at all and once the wrong food. The latest meal was correct but arrived wrapped in cling film. Wrong table I guess. I’ll continue to use Monkey Puzzle but unlike some pubs I really don’t like the whole experience

Love the Sunday roast, restaurant is a good size lots of seating and fab outdoor space. Have never had a bad experience here. Food and service fab.

What a miserable place... Smells like unchanged cooking oil like absolutely stank. It hit me as soon as I walked in and I regretted the dry clean only dress. The drinks selection is as basic as you can get but priced like it's premium. Their 'buffet' is a load of pre-cooked supermarket rubbish and only suitable for someone with the appetite of a gnat. Staff look like they are being held hostage and if anything slightly out of the ordinary happens they can't/won't do anything. Don't blame them - I'd give up too. Unless you're the guy who decides to randomly accuse people of stealing and try to ruin the party they've spent over £500 on. Not exactly wealthy people either, just a couple who have saved up to celebrate their anniversary with their young family. And their guests spent a chunk of money. Without which the place would have been deserted. I have the fun of visiting all the finalists for the Pub of the Year competition. This one has given me a great comparison as the worst I've ever been in.

This is a lovely brewers fayre with a lovely garden. I go to this one a lot as it in the middle so perfect for family meet ups. The staff are excellent very helpful and the grandkids loved the slides in the garden. It a large spacious restaurant.

Absolutely disgraceful, a “couldn’t care” staff. Ordered 4 meals for my wife and I and two granddaughters .my wife and I ordered gammon, one with egg and one with pineapple. The meals for us turned up as gammon steak with neither egg or pineapple after about 45 minutes. When I complained the server went away and returned about 20 minutes later with two plates each containing a slice of pineapple with a fried egg on top., still no sign of our granddaughters meals. When I complained to a member of staff I assume that the manager became involved where she accused me and my wife of upsetting the staff. Once again a case of people using the staff harassment statement to suppress any criticism of deplorable service. We left with our granddaughters in tears. What a brilliant advert for a very badly run restaurant. There were several other couples that were in a similar situation as we were.

Only 2 bar staff working, causing major waiting time

We went on a sunny Sunday they seemed a bit short staffed so nobody was around to greet customers which for us wasn't an issue as we just asked at the bar but I did see a couple of times people waiting to be seated and one of the waiters effectively shouting across the restaurant for them to take a seat. Having said that the server we had was brilliant. Food was decent we had the roast carvery which was lovely

The mixed grill was excellent, but the mega burger was disappointing, far too small 😑 However I visited a Beefeater on Sunday that was a terrible experience, so I will never complain about Brewers Fayre in comparison, strange as they're both the same chain.

Really lovely staff, quick service and friendly atmosphere.

Main guy with the bad beard and glasses is a bully, nasty to the really pleasant worker in red, who was very helpful and speeding around to accommodate everyone, even getting my aunt gluten free bread and toasting it for her, and then offering us the same. I didn’t get his name as there was no tag but the guy was very polite. And the man on the door was far from, and nasty. Heard by customers unnecessarily berating staff that are performing better than him.

A welcoming restaurant, staff friendly and some even recognised us from previous stays. The barman/manager was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast ladies were also brilliant, especially as family living nearby had joined us for breakfast. We stay in the area regularly and will be happy to use the brewers fayre again

Hade roast on Sunday very good, fish and chips very nice Cheep but good food

Beat brewers fare we visited. The food tased delicious,( we had breakfast.) the staff very friendly and helpful. Tables and floors were clean , not like in other locations. I would highly recommend to visit and taste the delicious breakfast. Thank you to all staff

Food is pretty terrible and expensive at that. Things are just warmed up in the microwave and pre made.

Awful experience… waited over 1.5hours for food and still didn’t get everything we ordered. Despite us being very patient and polite to the waiting staff, the manager was incredibly rude and very unprofessional towards us when we quite rightly raised our concerns. The staff were doing their best but are obviously being let down by poor leadership from their manager. I would strongly recommend avoiding this awful place!

For the last two Sundays, my family and my best friends family have eaten here. Both times they have been short staffed so food has taken longer than usual, but this didn't bother us as the kids had the play area outside. What did catch our eye though was an employee named Mark. Both evenings he had either stayed on longer than his shift to help out or come back after finishing work, he was so polite and helpful to everyone and even though he was quite clearly rushed off his feet, he always made sure he had a quick chat. He is honestly a great asset to the monkey puzzle. Alyshia (sorry if spelt wrong!) Was also amazing and very attentive to our children's needs and so easy to talk to! I think we've found our new eating place 😌 Keep up the good work guys!

The breakfast buffet is hard to beat, especially given children eat free with the adults

I've been coming here for a long time the food is outstanding never a bad meal the Sunday carvery is the best the food the chef I look forward to my Sunday lunch even when we come on a weekday the food again is gorgeous and not just that the staff are brilliant especially the 2 who work behind the bar on a Sunday forgot there names and the stall that clear the tables are a diamond they make us feel at home I know it's there job but 10 out of 10 also well done 👏 to the chefs and kitchen staff also the managers thankyou all for doing a brilliant job 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sunday toast carvery, unlimited soft drinks and nice garden with play area. Car park big enought, didn't have any problem to find spot

Sunday lunch was really and great value. Slightly marred by a hen party with very piercing voices.

It's good for the play park in the garden for children, otherwise the food was disappointing. Dried carrot sticks, hard mash potato and not as described adult meals. For the price paid and the food served, not worth it. Won't be going back.

First time going we arrived about 2pm for a food of some sort, we ordered steak salad which was fine also steak and chips ..chips were cold,and a double burger with chips and coleslaw,chips were cold coleslaw was hiding behind the burger bun, at least the burger was hot and tasty we wouldn't have minded if it was busy but it wasn't so no excuse for cold food ...we will go again to be fair and give it another go we use the beefeater in farnham all the time for breakfast but it's closing soon so we thought we would venture out

At first the staff were not clued up on intolerances. But once the manager came along she was very helpful and made changes to where we needed it. Atmosphere was very quiet for a Friday night. Even with an England football game on. Breakfast was ok. No signs out for intolerances. Small playground for kids which is always a bonus for families.

Sorry but food took forever and when it came it definitely lacked in standard , onions rings were burnt and the steaks were overly chewy which we left. It was our wedding anniversary to boot staff not interested in our comments at the end of the meal. We will not be returning or recommending .

Waiting over an hour the kids have now been served cold food. We are still waiting!

Breakfast was fantastic as always with a premier inn breakfast, everything well catered for. We also had an evening meal here on our first night and the adults had steak and a mixed grill and both meals were fantastic. Kids pizza and fish bites were great too. Love that there's a hidden beer garden with a play area round the back too

Celebrating a family birthday in the function room on Sunday. We all had the carvery, which was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. Big play area for children and made the dog in our group a bowl of water to cool down! Definitely would visit again. Thank you for making it a lovely celebration.

Really lovely, friendly staff. Delicious food, really enjoyable, and loved the soft drinks re-fills. Will definitely be coming back.

Food wasn't great. Everything from grill was dry/ burnt. Few of us had bad stomachs the day after. The waiter was eating potato's from the carvery with his bare hands while standing over the carvery.

I was pleasantly surprised when stopping here for lunch today - the staff were attentive and prompt, the restaurant and facilities were clean and in good order, kids outside play area was a hit and reasonably priced for the area. Whilst they do not offer order from table there was clear signage about this and the queue at the bar moved swiftly. Will certainly be returning in the future.

Went for a birthday which we pre booked I said 5 of us booked they said sit anywhere apart from the 2 booked tables. I said we are booked so pointed to a table. When it came to ordering food they said have to go to bar where there was one person serving and about 6 persons awaiting. I went back to restaurant side where 3 were stood, I asked if anyone else was.taking orders eventually came and served us. Took a while to bring out food.

Ordered food at 150 received food at 3pm

Come for a birthday meal, lovely food, great price, lovely atmosphere and lovey staff. Highly recommend

Apparently their breakfast buffet is on until 11am. Got there at 10:20 and they told me that there was no point sitting down as they were going to start putting the food away. Maybe change the time on your website to reflect this. Waste of time.

Food was edible but only warm. Gravy was tepid. Atmosphere, not existent. Service OK.

Glad to see The Monkey Puzzle open again. Be even better when it`s running normally post Covid. UPDATE. We now go regularly and under the new management it is really on the up. Food is good, prices are reasonable and the staff are very good. Only thing I miss is London Pride isn't served any more.

The worst food ever. Ordered nachos with extra chilli beef. You couldn't see the topping. They bought more out. 1 large table spoon. It was cold and not edible. Will not eat here again. Over priced and poor. Only good thing was our server. He was delightful

I'd give this place a miss. Just had most of a meal at this eatery and won't be going again until they sort themselves out. Starter arrived in 10 minutes (Good) Mains arrived in approx 1 hour (Terrible) Didn't want to wait to get a desert so picked up one from local supermarket. To top it all the one main meal wasn't as hot as it should be and another appeared to be congealed having, I assume, been left under a heater whilst the rest was cooking.... They were obviously understaffed and I don't blame them. The management, if they exist, need to do their job and fix these problems. Other customers sat near me had a similar experience

I didn't like the food here mostly except for their Creamy chicken pie. The Sirloin Steak was undercooked.

Had a mix up with our food orders when they arrived went to the bar expecting a battle and was so surprised to be greeted by elisha the manager who was absolutely fantastic in putting me at ease put the mixed up order on express at a discount then proceeded to deliver the food personally to our table and was so accommodating throughout the meal and even brought the birthday cake to my boys what a lovely lady lovely service and lovely food. Most professional I've encountered in this situation thank you elisha

Sunday roast really tasty and includes soup with bread roll! Also good value for just £10. Cannot knock the value for money. Soft drinks and coffee only charged once so just top up as needed. Service not perfect though. Will visit again.

No beer other than lager due to the carbon dioxide cannisters running out: but what are hand pumps for? On the previous visit, the credit card machines were not working, so the attendant had to hand write the slips. Decor is tired. Food is okay.

I can't answer those questions. I had a table booked for my wife and myself, when we arrived there was no one there to meet us. We found a table and i went to the bar to order and was told there was a an hours to hour and a half wait for food. So we left and went somewhere else

Myself and friends from work had a great breakfast a few days before Christmas. Cannot fault the food and service will be repeating next Christmas.

The carvery was excellent.good value for money . Never disappoints. Used regularly never had a complaint.

The service was slow but there was a huge influx of people who all came in the same time. So that's understandable. Food was good, staff lovely and felt really nice to sit and eat.

They never have enough people working. Getting served at the bar can take 15 to 20 mins. Food we are told is a 50 min wait, but turned out to be almost 2 hours. The staff do their best.

Sadly none of this visit was positive. Sticky dirty tables. Trying to order food was a challenge as the staff member repeated wrong menu items back to me and talked over me, long wait for food, burnt burgers, cold chips, warm coleslaw flavourless coffee even with an extra shot of espresso. It was dead for a sunday lunchtime but still slow and poor in every way. We won't be going back.

Far exceeded my expectations! Sunday carvery was fabulous! Crispy roasties, decent meat and all the veg extras and condiments. All scrummy! Did get there before 1pm

Lovely pub came her with the partner have a wide range of alcohol. Food was to a great standard and will be back with more friends and family.

Good selection at a reasonable price. But today had run out of gas so no soft drinks machine. Also only full sugar coke left. The ladies toilets needed some locks as well.

The staff were very unhelpful. The food was cold when it eventually came out. I would no recommend to anyone.

I went there for a private party, for which the function room had been booked. It was a blisteringly hot day and the AC struggled to keep up, though it did seem to get into its stride after it had been on a while, so I'll let that slide. They'd put on a buffet so we didn't eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on that; but I must say the buffet was outstanding, with plenty left over after we'd all stuffed ourselves silly. The real atmosphere revealed itself when I went to the bar for drinks. The service was downright glacial and I found myself searching for a fast-forward button. Eventually another member of staff rocked up and served me; I think "service with a frown" sums it up nicely. The impression I got was the staff just didn't want to be there. One important point: you have to enter your car number into a machine or you get a parking ticket; they don't tell you so watch out. So there you have it; it was OK I suppose, but I didn't leave thinking I couldn't wait to come back.

I occasionally eat here with my parents. It's good value and never had a problem with the food. The last visit they were clearly understaffed, they were doing their very best though. The main annoyance is that practically every table has a speaker above it blaring annoying music. Thankfully it wasn't busy so we could walk around and managed to find the one table in-between speakers so that we could actually talk to each other and not get a headache.

Regret the manager had staffing difficulties as 2 of the 4 meals arrived over 30 mins late. She was very apologetic and offerred 2 free deserts.

This was a reception room which I was invited to attend and felt obliged to attend. That's the only reason I was there, with past experiences of the monkey puzzle I wouldn't spend a single penny in the place, I found the food inedible the service SOO BAD,and really poor atmosphere. The last place in Farnborough I would choose to eat.

Queued for ages. Was my turn and i was told cannot serve me next as only one person on and she is only managing one part of the bar. Walked out but then came back and Queued for another 15 minutes at "the right place" if she told me in the first instance i was not in the right place at the bar i would not of minded. More examples of this new trend of bad service in uk.

Very dissatisfied. Went in for a family meal of 7 with 2 people ordering from same table within minutes of each other. Food came for first order and they had finished before other meals arrived - so wasn't exactly a family meal!! Then waited another 35 minutes for the children's pre ordered desserts. Won't be coming back here

Wasn't told no goujons when ordered but the replacement chicken breast was lovely!. Nice clean tables, menus could do with a wipe though as a bit sticky. Overall would be happy to go again.

Food really good, and a great bargain is to be found on the back of the menu. Staff are freindly and helpful good job all round.

A big chain pub, next to a motel. A pleasant walk through the nature reserve, wildlife park from nearby housing. Huge car park if driving. Playback for kids. Looks very busy mid-week with motel residents eating & drinking into the evening. Tonight the staffing levels were low, leading to long queues at the bar. But the (two) staff were working well to deal with the build up of custom. Didn't eat tonight, but an adjacent table were served very quickly by the catering staff and the food looked fresh and good. We will return in the future, and the all-you-can-eat-breakfast (kids eat for free) sounds like a challenge worth trying.
