First visit to Mo-Mo's and so disappointing. This is a restaurant running on a shoe-string with a very-limited food and drink options. I doubt very much whether it is trying to achieve this, but it reminded me so much of a very basic bistro of the 1970’s when food was prepared simply and without finesse. One chef and one waitress – although service was reasonably quick (five tables occupied). The special menu was reasonably priced and the starters were nicely presented – but the main course was poor and almost tasteless. My Alfredo pasta and the wife’s Calzone pizza had almost the same ingredients of mushrooms, cheese and chopped up ham slices! This fare may be ok for students (the college is within range) but more discerning customers need to consider visiting another Italian restaurant that offer more variety and better quality.

Visited here with friends, they are local so had visited here previously unlike me. Excellent little place, small and quaint but atmospheric.£8.25 for 3 course set menu, I am always a but dubious at such low prices but this cannot be faulted. Fast service, excellent good. Had garlic bread for starter, pepperoni pasta and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Fast service, lovely staff and delicious food. Prices on normal menu also very good and good choice available. can't wait to return.

Came back to momos as the food was beautiful and the service from manager jade was flawless, found out she's no longer working there which was disappointing as she brought the place to life. Would love her to work in Newcastle. All in all we had steak lamb tagine pizza and pasta and couldn't fault the food. Service could be better but I can't fault the little diamond of a place. Thankyou chef fab meal!

I visited with three friends and we all had the set menu. 3 courses of absolutely delicious food, with 2 bottles of wine and two large soft drinks. The bill came to an unbelievable £59.30!! The service was fantastic despite the restaurant being full. Amazing value for a lovely meal and drinks on a Saturday night! We left a good tip and the waitress seemed genuinely shocked, but we reassured her we were thrilled with everything and they deserved it. Will definitely be back soon!

Visited on a quiet Monday evening, only our party of three and another party of three. We went for it opening at 5.30pm. They offer a early bird special, £7.99 for 3 courses. There is a good choice of starters and mains and for dessert you can have sticky toffee pudding or ice cream. Waitress was super attentive and very efficient. Food was of a very high standard, especially the chicken and mushroom risotto.

We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and extremely good value, we had the 3 course set menu for £8.75,all washed down with an excellent Merlot! I would thoroughly recommend eating here and will do so again if visiting the area. Unfortunately we are from Hertfordshire and it's a long way to travel. I wish we had such a place near home!

We three blokes went to Momo's for a meal before heading to our local pub. We had a similar night out last year and were impressed so we made a return visit. The two waitresses were friendly and made us feel welcome. They served us Italian and Spanish beers and took our orders and were charming throughout. We all enjoyed a starter of garlic mushrooms then ordered more beers. Three different main courses of steak, salmon and pasta were of a very high standard and washed down with more Italian/Spanish beverages.

A bit disappointed as this was booked due to previous visits by family. We ordered starters and were told there was only one fishcake left, The mains arrived over an hour later, I'd specifically asked for no olives on the pizza and it arrived covered in them so I only ate one cold portion, one of the others had to wait a further ten minutes for his side order. The only thing that saved the night for me was the delicious sticky toffee pudding.

4 of us went here last Saturday night. The other couple had been before and recommended it, first time for us and we can't believe we haven't been before. They'd booked a table and just as well. It's not huge inside but all tables were taken except for ours. Lovely cosy atmosphere and staff were attentive and pleasant. There's a set menu available through the week all of the time and at weekends at set times however even ordering from the a la carte menu wasn't expensive. Our friends recommended the cod and salmon fishcakes for starters so we all ordered them. Not disappointed, I'll be ordering them again. We had different mains - chicken forestiere and homemade chips I had and it was delicious, the others had lamb tagine (so much and piping hot) and lastly a risotto. Everyone enjoyed what they had and the prices were very reasonable. There wasn't a wine list and for white wine it was classed as house white however the only 2 bottles they had were cabernet sauvignon and pinot grigio so there was a choice and we had both - very nice! If you expect a large wine list this isn't the place for you. It's quite basic inside but it was comfortable and nice to sit in a relaxed setting and not being rushed. Will definitely go back and also will try the set menu mid week as the selection looked very tempting.

Sick of going out and getting mediocre food and this little gem is now my favourite. Starters of fish cakes, king prawns and goats cheese salad, mains of lamb tagine, sea bass and sirloin steak, desserts were homemade sticky toffee pud and orange and almond tart, both with ice-cream. Every single thing we had was beautiful and with drinks the bill came to £56. Service great from both waitresses and not rushed which was great because I hate being in and out of a restaurant in less than an hour and we were able to take our time and enjoy the food.If you haven't been before, go, its amazing. We eat here quite often as a family and as a couple and find the food very nice indeed. The quaint simplistic decor is very fitting for the location and fits well with the Mediterranean themed food. The staff are very curious and usually very attentive but can seem to struggle under pressure, but do not let this out you of this little gem of a restaurant. The A La Carte menu is cheap enough, but they also offer an amazing 3 course special menu for just under £7.The two main points ones have noticed are that the owner Momo who does all of the cooking can be very selective and temperamental what time he stops cooking if he had been busy. On one instance people from out of town staying at a nearby hotel came into the restaurant after not being able to get into the Indian restaurant next door and were sent away because Momo's had been busy but then had free tables. The only other thing is that the debut card machine had been very iffy for quite some time and can become embarrassing if you can't use your card to which you then need to go and user one of the nearby cash machines to pay for your food.Apart from those two little issues, this is a very nice place to eat some really nice good and at a great price!

We had attempted to try this restaurant a few weeks earlier but it was fully booked. It was busy again on a Wednesday night this time but they managed to fit us in. The restaurant itself is small but has a good atmosphere.Food is excellent and very cheap. My partner can be fussy about going to cheaper restaurants but even he was impressed. The quality of food was very good and up to a similar standard to other more expensive Italian restaurants. The 3 course menu for £6.95 is particularly good value, served until 7:30pm. And the rest of the menu is equally reasonable. The only let down however was the service. Although the waitresses were very pleasant and friendly they didn't appear to have much experience in customer service. We waited almost 20minutes to have our order taken and the rest of the service was equally slow as we were left with dirty plates for long periods of time too.We will go back but would like to see the quality of service improve.

Another restaurant recommended by a local while we were staying in the local area studying. Only a very small place with limited tables so we witnessed a few people turned away as they were full (and it was only a Wednesday night) so if you do intend to visit it might be worth booking. Food was good (not fantastic) but the price was extremely cheap so all in all a good night out and I would return to try other dishes. Service could have been slightly quicker, but I guess that is personal choice so don't be put off by that.

This was my first visit following several visits made by The Mrs who had been with friends. From the outside there is nothing other than a small façade to indicate the delights reside within. As soon as we walked in we felt a welcoming ambience, there were many tables full of people who were obviously taking advantage of the cheap early evening menu. We had the full three course a-la-carte and with drinks the bill came to just £34. We had a prawn starter and hummous starter and for mains we had chicken in a cream & mushroom sauce and pork medallions. The food could not be faulted, very well presented and full of flavours. The service was friendly but discreet and the décor and low ceiling give an excellent feel about the place. We have had meals of inferior quality for more than double the price and we felt that this was one of the best restaurant meals we had experienced for many years. It is our understanding that the kitchen is operated solely by the owner without any other help and everything is done fresh from scratch, consequently the quality of the food he is preparing deserves high praise. He even makes the sticky toffee puddings himself.

Some friends recommended Momo's to us and we decided to give it a try. I'm afraid I wish we hadn't bothered. We hadn't booked but we're told it wasn't a problem. Our table wobbled so badly that I had to get on my hands and knees to pack one of its feet with napkins and business cards. There were two tables of people came in behind us (only one of which had booked) and both had their orders taken before us. Our drinks order was eventually taken and my partner ordered a bottled beer which came with no glass. When she asked for one, the waitress went to the nearest empty table and picked up a wine glass and asked, "will a wine glass do our do you want a proper one?" We accepted the wine glass. We ordered our food and our starter was brought to us by a second waitress but we had to ask for cutlery which was fully delivered with the excuse, "You didn't book, did you? You just walked in." We were given no napkins. Our mains arrived and whilst mine was very good, my partner's had several hairs in it. She sent it back and, in fairness, we were told we wouldn't have to pay for it. We were asked if we still wanted our desserts. We both ordered sticky toffee pudding: mine with cream, my partner's with ice cream. My pot of cream was brought out... it was actually semi skimmed milk. I didn't bother complaining at the time and just chose to eat my overcooked pudding without. I informed the waitress of the mix up with the cream afterwards and she apologised saying it was her fault because the cream and the milk are both stored in the same jugs. We sat for a few minutes and heard the first waitress say to the second, "I think table six want their bill." to which the second replied, "T'be honest, I dain't care." (Followed by something inaudible). We certainly won't be hurrying back and won't be recommending it to anyone else. I have eaten in almost every restaurant in town and I am struggling to remember worse service or a worse meal.

This small Mediterranean restaurant was recommended to me by a work colleague. One day we were discussing how we couldn’t be bothered to make the tea when we got home from work and she suggested eating here instead. No sooner said than done. I booked a table for 2 at 6 o’clock (mid-week). When we arrived, I found it to be exactly as expected and as previously described by my colleague, homely, warm and inviting. There was only one other couple eating but within about 15 minutes I don’t think there was a spare seat to be had so it is definitely a popular place, which could be down to the prices - £6.20 for 3 courses, yes, £6.20 for 3 courses! The menu was plain and simple but perfectly acceptable. We chose two different starters so we could swap half way (cheesy garlic bread and potato skins) - both lovely, then I had the chicken and mushroom pasta and my husband had a pizza. We swapped these dishes also, I definitely preferred the pasta dish but then I am not really a pizza fan. For dessert we both chose the sticky toffee pudding and it was gorgeous, with a glass of house white wine, (which was the only white wine choice), the bill came to less than £20 - I don’t think this can be beaten. The service was brilliant.

Looking for somewhere different and local, Trip Advisor (gawd bless yer) threw up MoMo's, which to be honest I've driven past countless times without it even registering.Quite a small place, but nicely decorated (random Mediterranean prints around the walls). Tweedle Dee and I both went for the three course special, with an olive and flatbread appetiser to share before the plates started to arrive. Our starters (choice of five) were both very nice - cheesy garlic bread, and a nice, fresh bruschetta (thank you for not drowning it in balsamic, as seems to be the 'norm' these days). Mains were also very good (any pizza or pasta, or the choice of several other meals). Garlic chicken pizza, and a chicken and mushroom pasta in a very pleasant creamy tomato sauce. We both finished off with a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. All very nice indeed. Then the final treat for the evening - the bill, with a beer and two cokes, came out at little over £20. Outstanding. I'm sure we'll be back again.

The taste was exquisite and the flavours melted together perfectly and absolute pleasure to eat. The main followed (mozzarella chicken) This was also well presented well flavoured and clearly on par with restaurants costing triple the amount. A pleasure to return to this Mediterranean restaurant. A pleasant environment with staff who give you time and space yet are attentive when necessary. The food is freshly prepared, so takes some for service, but the results are worth waiting for. The sauces are rich and full of flavour providing an excellent accompaniment to the well cooked meat. We don't visit often, but we've not been disappointed yet.

Well just experienced the worst customer service in a restaurant for a long time or possibly ever! Friends booked a table for 4 at Momos for 8. We walked in and were told sorry we don't have a table for you. I said what do you mean it's booked and the young blonde girl on the desk said we have your booking but we don't have a table for you just a table for 2. Eh? I said there is 4 of us! Obviously math not her strong point. I asked to speak to manager and she said he is busy. She then said if you are going to complain I want you out the restaurant! So basically don't bother with this place and the blonde waitress needs a lesson in customer services and basic manners! Thank God Lasun - the Indian Restaurant next door - were more than accommodating and fitted us in!

We went to Momos last night as a party of six after two of our party had previously ate at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was nice and extremely good value. The service however was terrible! Both waitresses were morose and inattentive. Despite the restaurant being quiet the two waitresses sat in the bar area rather than attend to tables. To order food and drinks we had to go up to ask to be served on more than one ocassaion. Empty glasses cluttered our table even after they brought new drinks. We waited too long between courses and when our food did arrive, it arrived at different times resulting in half our party finishing their food by the time the rest arrived. Would I go back? Based on the previous experience of family, perhaps but when there are so many other good value restaurants in the area that offer great service it's unlikely.

It had been a while since we were at Momo's but was worth the wait. 5 of us dined and all had a great meal. Reasonably priced for good food and wine. Will definately try to visit more often as had forgot how good it was

Our grandson wanted to have a meal here with his grandparents dad and partner to celebrate his 7th birthday, but unfortunately the evening was fully booked. As we have been on numerous occasions we were disappointed they could not fit us in. This is a real value for money restaurant with top quality food and service with intimate surroundings. I thought it was a gem but now it is so popular you have to book in advance for most nights. Take my advice, try it, you dont get moaning British like you do on the Med.

Went to this restaurant for my birthday as we had seen it many times as we passed on the bus going home but never ventured in. We're very glad we did! Being a Wednesday evening there were plenty of spare tables so we sat near to the small bar and ordered our drinks off a very nice waitress (who never stopped working) and browsed the menu. I opted for a Greek salad starter which was beautiful and the wife went for garlic bread which she said was one of the best she had ever had! Mains for me was Chicken Forestiere with basmati type rice and vegetables. Everything about the dish was superb. The chicken breasts were large, the sauce was fantastic, the rice was beautiful and the veg was nice and hot and tasty. My wife went for the sirloin steak with pepper sauce and rice. She thoroughly enjoyed it and cleared the plate! A nice bottle of Pinot Grigio, two starters and two mains and we still had change out of £40. They also do a two or three course meal for around £7 which is fantastic value. We'll definitely be back!

A great meal! Excellent service. Smaller intimate restaurant serving Mediterranean food. Fusion between Italian and North African dishes. Freshly prepared food served with a flair and eye for detail. Good sized and varied menu.Excellent value for money given the quality of the food and the service. Highly recommended. Booking optional but I would not risk it!!

Not easy to find, which is a bonus for those of us living locally, excellent value, excellent food and a reasonable range of drinks. There is usually only one (very busy) waitress, but she copes. It's not for millionaires, but they wouldn't be eating in Westoe. It is a very clean, neat and tidy restaurant that doesn't require a special occasion to justify the cost. Just go there, settle down and enjoy.

We have been visiting Momo's for a while now and it has always been excellent. There is a new set 3 course menu for £6.95 which is excellent, consists of soup, breaded mushrooms or French garlic bread to start, any pizza or pasta, lamb or chicken kebabs or risotto as the mains and dessert is sticky toffee pudding, ice cream or coffee. All of which are lovely, we haved ordered from the main menu as well and never been disappointed. This is a very small restaurant with Momo cooking and one young waitress, she is lovely but gets stretched at times when it is busy, she is always very honest and tells you when she has forgot something which is endearing. Unfortunately not everyone is so gracious. Wine list isn't extensive but drinks are adequate. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone but suggest they book a table, especially if it is for a group of people.

I booked a table on Valentine's night for myself and my partner. We were shown to a table which hadn't been set. We ordered our meals and a bottle of wine. The wine was delivered, but there was no glasses. The waitress , so i thought went for glasses, but she didn't return.Just as I was going to go and get glasses myself she returned with the starters, and said she was sorry, she had forgotten about bringing the glasses. The menu is quite small and limited, but saying that. the food that we ordered was delicious. The meal. 2 starters, 2 main meals, 1 dessert and 1 coffee together with a bottle of wine only came to £35.75 which was remarkable value. All in all we enjoyed our experience there and may go back sometime in the future.

We went for the first time two weeks ago. The starter of mushrooms were cooked in a golden crisp batter and tasted magnificent. The main pasta course was delicious. A third course followed and the total cost was £6.20 each for this 3 course meal! The service was excellent with the waitress checking we were comfortable and recommending various dishes. The house wine was also very good indeed. This home cooked food was worth waiting for. What a hidden gem this place is! I'm going to go weekly from now on!! Well done Momo's!

This is a bit if a delayed review but here goes anyway. Momos is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever visited and I don't just mean in the north east. I have dined at momos a number of times now and each time the whole experience gets better. The food is beautiful and all made from scratch and the waiting staff are attentive and friendly. The owner/chef is also a visible presence and always has a smile for his customers which is a nice touch. The restaurant itself is always clean and is the perfect place for any outing if its a nice meal on a whim or celebrating a special occasion you can't go wrong.

My husband and i went along at tea time for a treat. At first we were the only ones in but not long after another couple arrived and then a table of three. We have been quite a few times and although the deco could do with updating have always had a tasty and reasonably priced meal. Yes the service could be a little faster especially if there is not a lot of people in at the time but it is nice not to have to hurry your meal. We shared a tomato garlic bread to start and the I had bacon and onion tagalatelli and my husband who is a vegetarian had a vegetable pizza, both of us enjoyed it. We usually have the three course special which is a good price at £6.20 per head. The portions are very good and we have never found them small as another reviewer said they had been served. We will definitely go back again for a tea time treat in the future.

Another fab meal at Momo's! We dined as a group of 4; 3 of us got the special 3 course menu (£6.20) whilst the other ordered the lamb tagine and garlic bread. With drinks, the bill was only £40!!Superb home cooked food.Just to set the record straight, Momo's has a 5 star food hygiene rating which is clearly displayed on the window front not a 1 star which another reviewer stated. I have never experienced "filth" .... or anywhere close to it.

I have read other reviews on this page and have to say I am stunned at the few negative comments. I have been going to this restaurant for the past four years (latest being last night ) and have never experienced anything other than superb food and reasonable prices and in a clean environment. Would highly recommend .

Got the three course set menu. First course was nice although small. Main was beautiful but again small. And the dessert was two small scoops of frozen ice cream in a metal dish which was freezing to the touch. My main concern though was how long we had to wait between courses. There for two and a half hours and it was busy at times, but even when it had quieted down the service was still slow. Finally our waitress, as kind as she was, forget things like orders and cutlery on a frequent basis.

Lovely quirky restaurant. Friendly waitress but slow service as there was only her to serve. The menu has specials on which consist of a 3 course for £6.20 each night and the food is home cooked tasty not greasey. The house wine is really good and around £9 a bottle. They have alacarte which have some unusual tasty dishes on.Home cooked sticky toffee pudding, lamb kebab in a wrap with fresh chips. Absiolutely gorgeous well worth booking:-)

Went to Momo's on a recommendation from our hotel. It's small, and the menu is not massive, but there's a saying 'do a small number of things well', and this is what we felt Momo's delivered. A range of dishes, including pizzas, pastas, and other Mediterranean dishes are on offer, including vegetarian. We were not hugely hungry so didn't have starters; I was tempted by the lamb Shank, but opted in the end for the Aubergine Curry with Cous Cous, and my wife has penne with roasted vegetables and pine nuts. Both were quickly produced, nicely presented and very tasty. The waitress who served us was lovely. And the prices were very very reasonable - we had two main courses with drinks for less than £20.

Perfectly cooked and excellent quality meatNegatives: The floor is very slippery. From what I can tell the floor tiles are a bad design and should have never been installed in the restaurant.Over great food and great price.Would highly recommend it

This is a small restaurant next to a Bingo Hall opposite Westoe Rugby Club. It is a bit out of the way about 300 m from Chichester Metro. It is a very pleasant little place. the waitress was lovely. The food was great and cheap. It was quite busy so other must think the same . The specials at £6.50 with house wine about £10 what a bargain! Specials are available every weekday night and 5.30 - 7.30 on Friday and Saturdays.

Went here for my Grandsons 13th! Very nice setting and pleasant waitress who seemed to totally run the place on her own! The service was ok though it took just over 2 hours to have 3 courses! Food was cooked fresh but the pizza's were over spiced and dry! I had chicken /mushrooms and sauce which was very tasty. I also got the chips which were homemade. The sticky toffee pudding was nice and plenty of it! It was comfortable and pleasant to sit in and seemed to get busy with regulars. It was value for money but maybe need more staff! I would go back.

I've tried lots of items on the menu and found them all to be flavoursome and well prepared. The Lamb Tagine is a must try. The staff are all pleasant and don't hang around you waiting to push you out the door like some places. The only downside I've found is that it lacks a little atmosphere.

The food is nice but the place is usually empty, so if you're after atmosphere you'll not find it here. On our most recent trip the cook shouted at the girl serving upfront which made things tense, which was a shame.
