Just arrived here as I booked weeks ago for my moms birthday via Groupon. The woman at the counter laughed in my face as I arrived and said I wouldn’t be receiving any afternoon teas today as she had bought the business two weeks ago and was not honouring any bookings and then threw me out!!!! What on Earth!!! What a disgrace of a woman!!!

Went here for a birthday meal and was so disapointed. The sandwiches were made with very very thick bread, the scones were the type you would buy a whole pack for £1 in a supermarket, but the cake was nice. The girl was dressed in the most inappropriate clothing you could imagine for a tea shop ever! more flesh than clothing! Only us in there so can see why!!!

I booked a groupon voucher for afternoon for four people as a thank you to my 70 year old mother in law for watching my boys aged 5 and 7 whilst I was at work. I rang to book the table for August and passed the owner the voucher code on the phone. Sadly due to a power cut, the store wasn’t open when my mother and father in law and my two sons arrived. That was beyond their control and understandable. I downloaded the groupon app to see when the voucher expired and saw I had until the end of November. I rang the store back and rebooked the visit for today. I noticed when looking on the app, that someone, presumably the owner when he took the voucher code had redeemed this and it was showing “redeemed on the app”. I then went into the store with my husband and two children, and ensured that the shop had the booking, that they knew it was a voucher and that it hadn’t been redeemed. I was ensured by the owner that it was fine and there were no problems with it. I even discussed with him making the sandwiches for the children child friendly. Low and behold today my mother in law rings me in tears with two upset children in the background telling me the owner has turned them away saying the voucher was redeemed in July. Looking back, this was the date and time that I originally called the store to make the original booking. He had turned two elderly people in their 70’s away saying he wouldn’t get paid by group on as the voucher was redeemed. After a heated debate over the phone with the owner who repeatedly lied, saying there was no booking, I hadn’t been in to confirm the booking and he wouldn’t be providing lunch, he suddenly realised he did in fact have my mother in laws name in the book and suddenly back tracked saying it was my mother In laws fault for giving my name as he booking name instead of hers. Despite the fact that he had tried to turn them away without feeding them. No apology received and a very spoilt afternoon. I am then told following my conversation with him, he has then publicly humiliated and blamed my mother in law for the problem. A very poor afternoon tea consisting of two sandwiches and a scone each was then provided. I guess unfortunately you get what you pay for and I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere. Fantastic afternoon teas have been served in Cafe 105 and Suranthas is amazing. I will not go back to Mom n Co’s.

We've been here when it was originally opened and since it moved. Food always been ok. Nothing special but it was child friendly. Ser ice seems to have steadily gone down hill. We purchased vouchers for adult afternoon tea with free kids afternoon tea. Tried to book to use the voucher and got no where. Tried the online booking on Facebook. No reply or confirmation despite them seeing our messages, so went into the shop on the say, with 3 excited children.....closed? Despite advertising on Facebook all morning that they were open with photos of the cakes they had in today..... rang a few times on a few days to rebook....never an answer. After the voucher ran out we got through on the phone and were told no refunds,no free kids tea,all we could do was book for our tea(which has cost £10 each ONLY £4.50PP ON GROUPON) Went into store to arrange this but when asked for a receipt so we knew we had a booking(after reading the other reviews, proof was requested) my friend was shouted at and asked why we don't trust him....it's no wonder he's closing down with such awful customer service and disgracefully attitude! There are much nicer places to eat in stourbridge who's owners understand how to run a successful business and keep their customers coming back

Booked groupon on line. Welcomed ok on arrival shown to our table which was a bit sparse with a mismatch of crockery. Hot tea served then a slate platter with everything on. Bread was fresh tho sandwiches a bit lacking. Homemade bread pudding was a bit dry, scones definitely not homemade tho the ones on sale were! Jam and fresh cream served in the same pot...very odd! Nice cupcakes tho. 🧁 Cheap and filled a gap but won’t return.

I purchased a voucher for this Cafe some time in April and noticed that it ran out in June, I took my Mom into Stourbridge for Lunch after collecting her from the Care home that she is in, today was a good day for her, (she has Dementia and is prone to mood swings), we went into this place and I explained that I wanted to use my voucher, we were then told that we had to pre book and the they had used up all their Groupon allocations for the day, I asked in a more than polite manner if they could possibly make an exception for today, to which the guy repeated his "We've used up our Grouon Allocation for today" spiel. How embarrassing for my Mom and myself. I have since contacted Groupon and they have been more than understanding and refunded me my money. May I be so bold and remind the public that there are plenty more independent Cafes in Stourbridge who have a proper attitude toward their customers, I won't return ever.

I purchased a £9 groupon for afternoon tea for 2 as we had planned a shopping trip to Stourbridge so thought it would be a nice treat. My Mum and I also had my little girl with us who is 18 months old. Upon arrival we were seated fairly quickly although a high chair had not been placed at our table as requested on my ‘notes’ upon booking. I had also noted that I would require a small child’s lunch I would pay for on the day which unfortunately arrived 20 minutes after we arrived and my daughter was already eating our cakes. I was charged £2 for a single slice of bread with melted cheese which I felt a little expensive. Our hot drinks however were served promptly and our afternoon tea soon after. The food was not disappointing as we only paid £9, like I state in the title of this review, it was only worth what we paid. We each had 4 small triangular sandwiches with lovely fresh bread, 1 cucumber, 1 cheese and tomato and 2 wafer think ham each. I could not help but notice our scones looked shop brought as opposed to the handmade versions in the shop window, our small slice of jam roll was not handmade either. The cupcakes were handmade (I think), 1 red velvet and 1 carrot cake, but the frosting was definitely Betty Crocker! Hot tea was replenished frequently and overall we enjoyed our cheap lunch. If you are looking for a special treat or abit of luxury my advice would be to book elsewhere. Staff were friendly enough and the cafe had a nice relaxed atmosphere but we won’t return.

Booked Afternoon Tea using Groupon. Msged the cafe the day before to confirm booking. Told no booking received from Groupon and we needed to sort out with Groupon. Groupon advised to turn up with voucher and wouldn't be an issue. However was told by the cafe they would not honour the voucher as booking had not been confirmed by Groupon. So we didn't go and requested refund from Groupon. Groupon take up to 7 days to get back to you. They have asked for the cafe to email to say voucher wasn't used. Now here is the best part, cafe won't send the email as they prepared the food for our visit and we didn't turn up. Apparently Groupon confirmed the booking on the evening. However cafe didn't let us know the booking had finally been confirmed even though my husband had been messaging them for 4 hours on and off during the day to try and sort the booking out. Now why would they prepare the food and expect us to turn up when we had been told there had been no booking!!!!! Absolutely disgraceful customer service and would advise anyone to think twice before booking using Groupon.

Booked afternoon tea through Groupon only to be told the day before the booking that they had no booking from Groupon, 3 1/2 hrs of messaging Groupon and Mom n Co later and completely frosty and unhelpful responses from Mom n Co I Was told that there was no booking and nothing theuly could do about it. Naturally I looked elsewhere and messaged Groupon about a refund for the unused voucher. Mom n Co now state they won't confirm an unused voucher saying that the booking was confirmed by Groupon and the booking was a no show. Disgusting customer service to put it lightly. Avoid.

I was a bit sceptical after reading some negative reviews, but we had a lovely time. I called up on the morning to check that there would be enough room to push my grandma’s wheelchair around the tables, and when we arrived they were waiting to hold the door open. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh. The fillings were simple but generous. Scones came with a pot of cream and jam, and when we asked for more jam they were very obliging. We shared a four person groupon between three so were too full for the cupcakes, but were given a box to take them home and they were delicious, very moist with tasty icing. The waiter was very attentive and kept our tea refilled. All in all a great value groupon and we would definitely go again.

When booked it was mentioned that one of the party was allergic to strawberries and raspberries. When we arrived the young man spoke to me about this and gave me the idea that I was to get my own pot of jam. How wrong I was. The only jam was strawberry. When questioned about this he said they only serve the jam I can't have but that there was marmalade but I wouldn't have that at all if I were you. So I didn't but as he had plenty of notice you would think he would provide an alternative and keep the opened jar in the fridge. Instead I had a scone with just cream also 3 little triangles does not a picnic make per person. Also 1 doughnut between 4 people.

So four of us booked this through Groupon and at only £4 each we weren’t expecting anything fabulous, but we at least expected a nice afternoon tea with a hint of hospitality. The sandwiches had clearly been made well before our arrival as the bread was started to harden , brownies were the size of a thimble and normally with an afternoon tea you put your own jam and cream on your scone . I’m not a fan of clotted cream so these were off the menu for me . However the cup cakes were delicious.

Booked an afternoon tea and my goodness what a disappointment. 3 little triangles one with very cheap ham and a slither of tomato. One cheese and onion and one cucumber didn’t even equal 2 slices of bread (we are not big eaters). Scones were very poor and shop bought I would say (smart price quality) cream and jam already on them. Half a thin slice of bought battenberg cake. The cupcakes were ok. Tea was not a branded tea but could be refilled. The Man at the counter was milling about then he went and got his coat and left the shop no one came to replace him to replenish tea or milk. Very disappointed as we don’t get out much or have spare money this was ment to be a treat for us and a way we can support local businesses. Never again.

Lovely sandwiches, scones cupcakes and as much Tea and coffee as you wanted. We couldn't manage the cupcakes so the lovely Lady who runs it with her hubby bought, without us asking, paper bags and little carrier bags for us to take them home. We stayed a couple of hours and we were not pushed to rush or leave . Any request was dealt with politely. Lovely couple who run , what is, a little independent business. A dark and dingy cold environment with an uncommunicative host who did not inform us that we could have unlimited drinks nor what sandwich fillings were offered up on the slate!!! The scones were clearly shop bought with some kind of fruit jelly instead of fruit jam inside! There was no choice of cup cake either, you just had what you were given! I booked an afternoon tea for my daughter and I today. Now I've been to Mom n Co 3 times before BUT when it was situated in Rye Market shopping centre. So on booking that's where we presumed it still would be. However, it had moved and I must say not to a good spot at all, pretty much out the way! The premises were ok clean and tidy but was absolutely freezing .... No heating except for a small heater behind the counter. Decor was ok but could tell it had been a rush job. As it was a wowcher i was asked for the barcode that needed to be scanned (never asked for this before just the code). After battling with the Wi fi for 20 minutes to get this i was told it wasnt required only the code! (which id had from the start). Tea and coffee was served in the meantime but sugar dispenser empty so got one off another table .... again empty! The chap filled it up. I then asked if i could have a particular cup cake which is part of the thing only to be told no as it was a set meal. Now not everyone likes every cupcake do they? After stating this had never been a problem before I was told on this occasion ok. Sandwiches arrived and I could not fault these ... fresh and and varied choice. However asked for salt, only to be given a salt grinder with possibly no more then 6 grains! Have to say service was quite bad nothing like at the last place as nothing was too much for the young girls who were staff there. They constantly asked if we required anything else....here? Nope this wasnt the case. The guy seemed uncaring, unwilling and quite miserable. Needless to say this will be my last visit to this place. Sorry Mom n Co but youve gone right down the pan!!

There are many negative reviews on trip advisor about this venue. We visit regularly and always have lovely cakes and drinks. This is a local trader and cakes are all made in house. I think to bake all these and run the shop with a handful of staff is real testament to their commitment. Drinks and cakes are much cheaper than the usual chain outlets in town.

Two young pleasant waitresses were the only staff around. We had pre-booked a WOWCHER afternoon tea - and in all honesty this was very disappointing. We had checked beforehand that we could have coffee instead of tea. The coffee appeared very quickly in a cafetière that was already plunged. Needless to say there were no coffee grounds in it, as it was in fact instant coffee - serving instant coffee in a cafetière borders on a Trading Standards dispute I would suggest. When questioned about this instant coffee, the waitress replied that this was the only coffee included in the afternoon tea deal. We can guarantee that on that basis we will never return.

If I could score it less I would have!!! We booked afternoon tea through groupon for four of us for my moms birthday. When we got there we were asked for a voucher code by the man their. We hadnt got that but had a confirmation email we were told this wasnt enough this wasnt the first trip there we had been a few weeks before and weren't asked for a thing and we have been previously before that and not asked for anything. The mans attitude was appalling to say the least and if it's like that all the time I can u see why their having to offer deals on group on to generate business. It took a little under 20minutes to resolve the situation going back and forth between emails and logging on as a reference number wasn't good enough we weren't given anything until it was. It actually ruined my moms birthday. When afternoon tea was brought the sandwiches weren't the most freshest of breads and the tea was pretty poor and weak. The cakes were nice however would have been nice to be asked what flavour we would have liked and the small scones that we had were already made up and not separate like you get any where else so you can make your own up they were small, not much flavour and bordering on stale. We won't be going back here again and for a family who book a lot of afternoon teas for occasions you have now lost our custom for the attitude and general food. Maybe the owner should be sent on some customer service management course so they know how to treat someone who is paying there bills!

We booked afternoon tea as a treat with friends. When we booked we advised that we had a strawberry allergy and were told that they would ensure that they had alternative jam and cakes for us. Not wanting to take any chances we called into the shop last week to confirm the booking and that they were aware of the allergy and a young girl confirmed it was all arranged.

Afternoon tea was bought as a gift for myself and friend. The place was clean and the food was fresh and edible and the tea was hot. There was no atmosphere whatsoever. We were served tea on a scratched table. Tablecloth would have been nice. Crockery did not match. We were cold, door was wide open and there did not appear to be any heating. The young man who served us was pleasant enough. On the whole the food was ok. Place was ok but not really welcoming. Not my best afternoon tea experience

Visited Mom n Co on Saturday 22nd Oct with my wife and 2 of our friends. Had previously booked to be assured of a table and that was ready and laid out very nicely on our arrival. Had seen some mixed reviews about them but have to say all of us enjoyed it immensely. The sandwiches were freshly made which made a change from some places we have been where they are prepared some time earlier and then kept in a fridge. A good selection of ham and tomato, cheese and onion and cucumber. Cup cakes, brownies and jam and cream scones made up the rest with as much tea as we wanted. Thoroughly enjoyed it and have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.

Beautiful little vintage feel tea room, relaxed atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, food was delicious. My sister arranged for us to go for afternoon tea as a birthday treat with myself, our mum and mother in law. The cakes were amazing almost too pretty to eat (but we did and they were delicious!) and it just doesn't feel like you are where you are if you know what I mean...came out feeling nice and relaxed and full of yummy tea and cake!

After booking with the shop itself I needed to change the date after a bereavement, they said no and referred me back to where I'd brought the deal, even after I explained what had happened. Very Poor customer service, I shall never go there again.

went there for a hen party the food was not good sandwiches were stale, most of cakes not nice, coffee rubbish and tea was like pee water, how can your call it afternoon tea when it was probably the worst cup of tea I've ever had!!! I actually had a lovely cup of tea with proper Yorkshire tea when we went to sew with Holly around the corner, who I would definatly recommend by the way

Would not recommend the afternoon tea. Sandwiches were very boring and felt like they had been made up well in advance. And not enough of them. cupcakes were okay. scones were very small. we had tea to drink and was very weak. Staff were polite but not very chatty. Would not return. Luckly i bought on groupon so had it cheap. certainly would'nt want to pay full price for it.

I visited here with my mom and daughter on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly quiet when we sat down (at an uncleared/grubby table) and waited a while for someone to come over, but when they didn't I presumed I was to order at the tills. Two young girls were running the place and it was apparent they were in over their heads, stressed and unable to cope - even with few customers. I was told to take a seat and my order would be taken at the table. Twenty minutes later, we were still waiting so I went to the till to order as I also wanted to ask about hosting a friends 30th birthday afternoon tea. I was told to go online and buy a brunch voucher, but when I asked for further info and if I had to buy a voucher in advance, I was told the manager was away and to call the shop next week. I ordered a pot of tea for two and two cupcakes, which were given to me straight away, but I was told the tea would just be a minute. We waited around fifteen minutes for a pot of tea and our cakes had gone as we kept thinking surely it'll be here in a second! The tea bags were cheap and it was served in a metal tea pot, not lovely china like some people had - maybe this is just standard for two people, who knows. The cupcakes were nice, but for the money, I honestly don't really feel they are worth it as they cost pence to make. I realise this is a business and so I don't mind paying whatever really, but when the service is so poor I begrudged it. The two girls continued to run around the shop, constantly apologising for the delay and getting orders wrong. I saw two people in the short time I was there send back food for whatever reason. When my mom chased the pot of tea, she overheard one of them say in a huff she just wanted to quit. I'm really not sure how two of them struggled so much with so few customers - they seemed to start one job and then get distracted and start something else. Not a relaxing, pleasant environment and as Stourbridge has many other lovely places for a drink/snack I would go elsewhere. I feel they just want to make money, do everything on the cheap and customer satisfaction isn't too important.

We went here for afternoon tea as a group of 4 (with a wowcher voucher). When we first arrived we asked if a quarter of the sandwiches could be made without butter, which we were told would not be a problem. When the sandwiches came they all had butter, when we told the waitress she said she would make fresh sandwiches without butter. To make it easier we said just chees would be fine, rather than a variety.

We came for the afternoon tea with the Groupon voucher deal. I felt that the food offered was definitely reasonable for the price paid; though the sandwiches were nothing extraordinary they had catered for our request of veggie sandwiches only. The scones were great with lashings of cream and jam, and the cupcakes are delicious, though it would have been nice to have a choice of which cupcake flavours we were included with the afternoon tea. I enjoyed the decor of the place, I feel they have done their best to bring some character and charm to a small rectangular space of the Rye Market. The service was friendly however as we were the only ones in at that time it did feel a little awkward to be seated so closely to the counter and still be able to enjoy a relaxing conversation.

I booked a table for afternoon tea using groupon voucher and was really looking forward to it. Was shown to our table which was already set up with China cups (which didn't match and was tea stained). Had our cakes, coffee and tea brought to us. Coffee was nice but the tea was awful. Sandwiches were basic cucumber, cheese and ham selection and cakes were ok. Wasn't too impressed on the decor either. Didn't feel comfortable in there and left as soon as we had finished. Probably can't complain for £9 for the both of us but will try somewhere else next time or stick to Costa!

Booked my daughter a vintage princess tea party for her 5th birthday. I rang Mom 'n' Co when I saw the deal through Groupon just to clarify that the date we wanted was available, once the date I wanted was confirmed free I booked it direct through them for the same price. On arrival we were welcomed in and shown to our table, when I placed my daughters birthday cake down we were told that this wasn't allowed as we would be doing them out of business??? It was simply a cake so we could sing happy birthday to my daughter. I wasn't informed of this on booking and if I had known this then I would have ordered a birthday cake through them, we were told to put a candle in a muffin.... try explaining that to a group of 4/5 year olds!!! Also 2 of the girls also requested a cup tea instead of squash but we were told no it wasnt allowed! FINALLY when we asked to use the toilet we were told we had to use the toilets in the Rye Market which were closed, so we ended up having to tske them into the near by pub!!

Visited today with my sister using a Groupon. Very quiet initially at midday but full when we left. Table already set - bone china plates saucers and cups. Beautifully presented cream tea. Round of sandwiches each - presentation excellent and then the most amazing cakes - clotted cream scone each, chocolate brownie and cup cake. Cakes were excellent with option to buy more to take away. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Could not fault and would thoroughly recommend a visit. How do they do it for the price of a Groupon. Excellent value.

Just popped in out of curiosity to see if anything had improved since my last visit to the old shop where we attended a baby shower. Still the same bloke on his laptop more interested in that than customer satisfaction. Same old cucumber sandwiches and lack lustre service. We do take our business elsewhere now and are used to so much better....

It was okay for £9 for the two of us that we paid through Groupon. The cafe charges £10 per head for the same Afternoon Tea. I shan't be going again though. Place was very quiet. There was just one member of staff there, presumably the Manager. He seemed pleasant enough, but not overly friendly. Two people were leaving just as we arrived. No other customers for the whole time we were there. Very poor, thin serviettes, huge stainless steel teapot with the rest of the tea service being quite a nice matching crock set. Sandwiches were okay, but seemed to have been cut up by a one armed man with a spoon. Scone each, was pre prepared with a very small dollop of fresh cream and cheap jam that has bereft of any fruit. Folks who've never been to a posh hotel for afternoon tea would be impressed.

We needed somewhere to stay for a friend's wedding and couldn't have been happier with our stay at The Fox Inn! The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the food and atmosphere were brilliant as well, big portions for decent prices. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed.

We visited yesterday for breakfast with Santa as a family of 12. Upon arrival we were directed (not taken) to our table but having never visited this pub for breakfast with Santa before, we weren’t aware of what the process was, neither were we informed until I found a member of staff to ask. We then waited at least 20 mins in a queue for the buffet breakfast, this would be expected if the pub was busy but it wasn’t even half full! When we eventually got to the front of the queue, there was about 4 plates left. As we picked up the plates we soon became aware of how ridiculously hot they were after we all burnt our hands!! My son burnt his hand so badly I had to take him to the bathroom to apply cold water!!! You expect the plates to be hot but not just out the oven hot, and no signs to warn us! So as there were 12 of us and only 4 plates, and about another 20 people in the queue behind us, with no sign of anybody bringing anymore out, I had to pull a member of staff to ask for plates. Somebody then came from the kitchen with 2 PLATES!!!! These were of course used, leaving the rest of the queue without a plate again. My husband then asked the guy who was replenishing the food for yet more plates to which his half hearted response was “I’ll have to see if we’ve got any”!!!! Not what you want to hear when you’ve paid for a meal, in a pub, there are no plates?!! What the…….?!! He eventually strolled back from the kitchen with 2 PLATES again!! When we had all finally got a plate, there was then more waiting time as the amount of food that was out was just enough for two people so we had to wait whilst they went back to the kitchen to fetch another lot of food for the next two people! By the time we’d got back to our table, our hot drinks were now cold and so was our food!! Then a few of us wanted ketchup, so with nobody around to ask, I went on a hunt for some. I found 3 empty bottles so asked a member of staff for some more. She looked at me like I was totally inconveniencing her by asking then wondered off and came back a stupid amount of time later with a cereal bowl full of ketchup! A BOWL?!! She expected me to take a spoonful and leave the rest there for other diners however with half of our table wanting ketchup, the easiest thing to do was take it back to the table. All in all, my food was cold when I finally got to sit and eat, my drink was cold and I would have liked to go back for more food as I was still hungry but after the first experience at the buffet and the time it took, I decided it just wasn’t worth it! Then came our turn to visit Santa. In a huge pub that was less than half full, they had decided to place Santa and his grotto in between the bar and the entrance to the pub! To say this caused chaos would be an understatement. Families queuing for Santa were left having to stand in the path way of anybody wanting to get in or out of the pub and anybody wanting to get to or from the bar which resulted in a few drinks being spilled from excited children who were simply bored of waiting and had nowhere to stand!! ! The queue for the bar due to the fact that because of where Santa had been placed meant a till had had to be closed off, meant even more people gathered. We waited in the queue for Santa for 35 long minutes! That is a long time for young children to stand in a queue where they literally cannot move for fear of drink or food spillages or getting in somebody’s way or getting lost! Yet the other side of the pub was a lovely comfy corner where nobody was sitting with lots of space - wouldn’t this have made more sense for Santa’s grotto?!! Whilst Santa and Mrs Claus were quite chatty with the children when it was eventually our turn, I feel a bit more effort could have been made. Some of the children in our group noticed Santa had trainers on and wanted to know why he didn’t have his black boots on. May sound petty but when you pay for a Santa experience, it’s not difficult for the little details to be thought of really…. We were not the only family who were disappointed with our experience sadly there were others, and I think the overall opinion was that none of us would return again given the chance. The whole thing was way more time consuming than it needed to be with abit more preparation and effort it would have been great. Our family actually couldn’t wait to leave! Never again!

Been coming here for last couple of months ,all OK, bought my stepdaughter ,who dresses a bit differant, ,went up to bar and ordered a pint of Guinness for my hubby ,the older lady serving snapped ,where's her ID,,she only had it on her phone, that's not acceptable, OK my stepdaughter said it's OK I will just have pop , no no I am not serving any of you ,she doesn't have ID, I let it go cos we don't want any trouble ,thinking about it we have seen quite a few children in this pub and the parents have drank alcoholic drinks and obviously the kids don't have ID ,so there is a problem with the way my stepdaughter looks ,that's OK, you will never have my custom again, and I will tell everyone how you have treated us ,I work in retail and I know the laws ,you are an old nasty woman and karma is a cow x
