Mohini Balti House in Sutton

We tried them due to the award they got last year. The chef who was there when they won the award has clearly left. The food was almost inedible due to the high salt levels, the lamb was so chewy you couldn't swallow it. The chicken was dried out. Sadly wont be using them again. Maybe we were unlucky.

Quantity of the food is good. For taste I give 4 out of 5.

Best Indian I have had in a very long time.

Ordered at 7.35 meal arrived at 9.55 one item missing. Not good, won’t be using again. Food was ok.

Disappointing. Watery curry, hardly edible and completely tasteless.

Had chicken tikka masala with rice. The chicken was non existent (if I had 1 breast I would be surprised) and either the sauce was very watery or the rice had not been drained properly either way I ended up with a plate of water which was pretty horrible and tasteless. This was the same for my daughters boyfriend who had same as me. We normally go to blue bengal or Saqui but Saqui has changed recently so thought we’d try Mohini which was a mistake as this was nasty. Naan bread was good if that’s anything.

This has to be the worst takeaway I've had. Chicken was so dry. Lamb was chewy . Neither curry had any spice or taste and the garlic naan had no garlic. Gave a 1 as the meat samosas were very nice.

Amazing food best takeaway curry for miles

Extremely disappointed with the service. Ordered my food to be ready for 7:00 but when I arrived was not, it eventually was ready an hour later. Got back home and they were missing some of my food, called to tell them and they claimed we had not ordered it. Clearly had as when I rang they read the order back to me and what I had ordered was read back to me, they said that they could not prepare the food for me till later on and I would have to pay more for items I had order. Absolutely horrible.

I ordered a curry from their website and it is now over 2 hours since I ordered it. I've ordered regularly from Mohini Balti House and have enjoyed the food but this will be the last time. I rang the guy over the phone to ask where my order was and he said the driver has just left the restaurant and will be 10 minutes with no apologies, it only takes a few minutes to drive from Carshalton Beeches to my road and in the end he took 20 minutes from when I rang, the food unfortunately was lukewarm as well. Never again.

My family and I ordered from Mohini for the first time a few weeks back, after being a bit disappointed with recent takeaways from other Indian takeaways in the area. We did not know Mohini existed, despite living in the area for years! Happy to say that it was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be ordering from here again! Everything was yummy and not oily or greasy at all. Highly recommended!

Off the charts food is fantastic consistently good week after week never had a bad meal

Don't want to give any rating. Had called to enquire about the order after 45 minutes and was informed that it might take further 15-17 min as it is not 1 hour still. Told them that will have to write a review. Waited for an hour more so in total after waiting for 2hrs, and calling the restaurant - was informed that order is not being delivered and I need to take it up with UberEATS. And that's because I told earlier that I'll write a review Restaurant informed that they are very busy hotel and always take time to deliver. Guess it doesn't matter if they lose one customer . Will never bother ordering from here and also of anyone wants to order please be prepared to not get food delivery and also not getting informed about that as well.

The only place we would now consider for an Indian takeaway. Can never remember the name so my son always calls it the "really tasty take-away" Reasonably priced as well. Never had any problem with the time taken to deliver as well. Lived here for many years now, can't believe we've only just found it!

I had a house special it turned up and tasted lovely but only had 2 small pieces of chicken in it. So I called the restaurant and they passed me over to the chef and was so rude I couldn't believe it,then puts the phone down

Good services, but that’s about it. The seekh kebab had a ton of food colouring, and excess salt making it unpalatable. The chicken chaat was overcooked, and rubbery. We didn’t like it. The curries wasn’t the best. The naan was good, but didn’t have enough garlic. We didnt enjoy the paratha. I would recommend ‘the Grange’ if you’re after an Indian curry.

I ordered online and after an hour it still hadn't arrived. The estimated delivery time stated 20-28 minutes! So I called up and the man said I chose 8.30pm when there was no such option !? He said you know there's a pandemic on. So bloody rude. When I mentioned the website estimated time of delivery he just laughed. I didn't get my food until 8.45!!!! No apology or compensation. This unacceptable. Won't be using again. Shame because the food was good!

We waited over an hour for a home delivery. When it finally arrived after a phone call enquiring to where order was..it freezing cold and most of the order was missing. No apology from shop - so we won't use again and would not recommend.

I have just moved to the area and heard great reviews about Mohini. I must say... it was the best curry I’ve had in years!! Tasty, flavoursome, not oily and great quality. Plus the wet towels was a nice touch. Very polite delivery man, as well as great telephone service. I’ll be ordering again... soon! 😊

Lovely guy and lovely business food is always up to quality standards never had a problem always delivered on time and the driver is also very pleasant, I would defiantly recommend anyone who likes Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine to come or order from here. Reasonable prices aswell which is always a bonus.

Excellent food. Been looking for a new go to Indian for a while since our old favourite closed down. Every single person in the family loved it and said we've found our new regular! Great flavours and very well spiced! Best puri I've had outside India! Very minor grumble is that I think they use lamb rather than mutton, which was a little chewy. Thoroughly recommend.

Freshly cooked, full of flavour, not at all greasy and if you ask they cater for vegans as well as meat eaters! Fantastic.

Best take-away in the borough! The food is delicious and is always delivered within the time mentioned at ordering. I can recommend the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, best I've ever tasted. We were customers of the old take-away, the Clay Oven, for many years. When it changed hands to become Mohini, we were apprehensive to say the least....but we didn't need to be. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service is outstanding - Highly recommended 5*

Best Indian Takeaway around! Flavours all different for the dishes we get. Tandoori mixed grill is a winner and the Chicken Chilli Special great for those lovers of spicy food. Always great food and great service. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Been using these guys since they had their place just over the road from the plough. I will not use any other Indian take away, the staff are fantastic and the food is amazing. My normal order is a lamb dhansak and it's just amazing, cooked to perfection. I recommend this place to everyone and will always continue to do so, I cannot recommend them enough.

Decent curry house with an extensive menu. We ordered a few dishes and was not disappointed as we often are with the standard takeaways in the local area. Food was fresh and hot- good range of flavours and well priced. So much better than Saregama restaurant which is close by and popular with locals?!

I was a regular customer for Mohini Balti for years from when they first opened as a restaurant in Beddington, Surrey. Due to personal problems I moved out of the area and therefore did not use the Restaurant that often but definitely used the Restaurant at Christmas & New Year periods or if not possible to use the Restaurant (they were always really busy), I would order a takeaway. Both my children (now adults) were fans of the meals from Mohini Balti, as was my ex husband, who although himself living out of the area, has used the restaurant in the last few years. I was sad to see the Restaurant go but pleased to see they have opened a takeaway in Carshalton Beeches. I ordered a delivery a few days ago since I am unable to visit the restaurant and collect. Ordering online was very easy to do, the food was delivered just over an hour (waiting time I was given was 40 minutes to 1 hour), however this is the first time I have ordered and it was peak time on a Saturday, I expected my food to have a slight delay and the 4 minutes over the hour delivery schedule really didn't matter. The food was the usual excellent standard and as usual a very generous portion (I saved some for my breakfast the following day which is one of my own traditions anyway). The prices are very reasonable and in all the years of consuming meals from Mohini Balti, myself and my family have never yet had a bad meal or cause to complain and certainly never had a dodgy tummy after eating from them. The delivery driver was polite and friendly and told me to enjoy my meal (even this bit of interaction impressed me, I've had delivery drivers shove a meal at me previously without even acknowledging me and also complaining about walking up 2 flights of stairs to my flat). I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would recommend Mohini Balti and will definitely be using them again as will my family. Try them, you will not be disappointed.

We ordered a meal and were told an hour delivery. Two hours and half a dozen phone calls later our meal arrived with two items missing. Was told numerous lies about new driver and driver off sick. Will never order from Clay Oven again.

The delivery took 2 hours. Which I find to be unacceptable, the man who answered the phone laughed when we called to complain.

Quick, well priced and a great range of food, tasty too
