This is the first time I have used this café since it had a makeover / changed hands. I was given a nice greeting and was made to feel welcome. The cakes looked an improvement over the last time I went here. I ordered cafe latte and cake. As well as seating in the café there was a temporary shelter (tent, photo) outside which is where I sat. My order was brought out to me. The coffee was very nice and the apple and toffee muffin (not pictured) was very very good indeed. I also had a piece of carrot cake which was good but not in the same league as the muffin. The price was reasonable. I will be happy to return. Feb 2022, still good. Nov 2023, still good but not quite great.

Went for a Thali night with a group of 15, booked well in advance. Delicious authentic gujurati cuisine cooked with care, attention to detail, and served with love. Great choice of local craft beer and wine, and had a delicious mango lassi with our meal. The hosts are clearly passionate about their food, and so friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this, and will be back for the daytime menu, which also looks fantastic. The only photos I took were of the dessert. A fruity set yoghurt with gulab jamun, a delicious chocolate and rose topping, garnished with pomegranate and pistachio.

I visited as part of a morning deluge of cyclists participating in a mass event. Despite this, the staff were patient and helpful. The caramelised onion sausage roll was very good, but the apple and cinnamon cake/muffin I had was to die for. A great little place to stop.

Cafe by day, curry by night; 'Indian curry experience' is definitely the right description for this place. Wow, what a brilliant idea. Authentic & intimate Indian restaurant run by lovely people. There's no menu, just turn up and eat (you can opt for vegetarian or meat). Good drinks menu enhances the experience (although my lager wasn't very cold). Definitely one to try out if you can - but you will have to book!

My third visit here and it won't be my last. A great place to find enough calories to finish any cycle ride. Staff are attentive and welcoming, the chef gets everything on your plate at the right time so it's hot. The tea needs time to brew as it's loose leaf, and delicious. Thank you all.

I went here last Friday with some other ladies from book club and just had to post a review to say how outstanding this place is. This is the best Indian food I've eaten outside India (and I've eaten a lot). It's authentic, perfectly cooked, fantastically served, beautifully hosted by the lovely owner and I am already planning my next visit. Apparently I am the first person to clean the thali plates, not sure whether to be proud or embarrassed by that!

We drove out to Haslingfield for a delicious Gujarati thali dinner - this small family restaurant do it on Friday and Saturday evening, booking essential. it was delicious, a real treat; they cook with passion and pride as well as expertise. The street food starter was a marvellous mix of flavours. The main dish comprised a couple of meat curries, dahl, rice and breads, fried snacks, salad and halva - they will pack leftovers as a takeaway . We did ask them to do that for the dessert and they were even packed in eco-friendly containers. Service was friendly. Nothing was "hot" but all very tasty and well balanced. Definitely somewhere to go again.

Can't recommend the Mohak Indian Thali experience enough. We visited this Saturday evening and the food and the service couldn't have been better. The pani puri were a delicious start and everything on the thali was super tasty including goat and chicken curries and a dal. My partner is dairy free and they went out their way to accommodate us both. We both really enjoyed it, we just wished we could have fitted more in! A fantastic experience and we will certainly be back.

Mohak Cafe (former site of the Moringa tree cafe which no longer exists) Great coffee (to drink in or take away) and good variety of cakes and food including vegan and veg options. There are also Indian / Asian dishes on the menu in addition to the usual cafe offerings. Friendly and knowledgable staff. There is limited seating indoors so avoid peak times if you want to sit in. Outdoor street-side seating is available plus a small outdoor covered seating area.

Handy stop off before or after chapel hill, I think this used to be the Moringa tree? Vegan and veggie friendly menu and a vegan breakfast which I was sadly too late for ( before 11.30 ☹️) . Coffee is great with a selection of non dairy milks available and some tasty looking cakes . The Bean pasty was almost completely hollow and a bit disappointingly stale but the spicy chickpea pasty was good. Portions were a bit small, but so were the prices so I guess you get what you pay for. I personally would have preferred more than 6 chips and a dusting of lettuce after 60 miles. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bike racks and an offer to fill up my water bottle was much appreciated. Open 7 days a week . Food needs tweaking I reckon but has potential for a good location for cyclists especially on the days when the excellent Cafecito nearby is closed.

This is great little cafe with the potential to be excellent. Early days, but the food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. Everyone working there - some of whom I know - is friendly and attentive. The decor is lovely and they have an ice-cream maker which will definitely appeal to kids! And a great stop-off for cyclists with bike racks outside. The coffee, whilst good, isn't quite up there with the very best yet. Hopefully that's just a matter of time and experience.

I've wanted to have a classic high tea for a long time and share the experience with my husband, who has a different cultural background than mine. After searching various places, I decided on Carridges. The quirkiness of having a high tea on a classic pulman train carridge looked exciting. As this outing was for my birthday, we went for the high tea and booked a private compartment in their Oliver carridge. It did not disappoint. Walking through the display gardens onto the station where the Carridges are set is lovely. We were greeted by warm, friendly staff, who checked your booking and confirmed issues around any dietary issues. We were shown to our compartment, which was lovely. A small bottle of bubbly to share and our choice of tea ordered, and our high tea arrived. The staff were very attentive about allergens, and there were no issues with what we had. There was a lovely selection of finger sandwiches, warm savouries, little desserts, and then followed by the scones. We swapped out the savoury scones for the sweet ones, and this was no issue. There was more than ample for two people, and we were offered boxes to take the remaining items home. My husband loved the tea and was furiously searching the Internet once home to find some. The one thing I would advise on is that if your sat nav is not up to date, it would be better to use Google maps on your phone. As the though the new roads can confuse. Once near, follow the actual signs for Banolds as you immediately turn left into the car park for carridges. I say this as Google Maps got confused at this point and was trying to take us into the driveway of a house. (Carridges was directly behind here).we also had the 3.15pm sitting, so bear in mind the tea time rush hour traffic when you are finished.

Stopped here on the way back from a beach trip and had seen the sign while driving past so decided to turn around and get some food and glad I did as this is the best kebab I have ever had portion was very good. I had some left over which I ate the next day and still enjoyed it. Parking was a bit chaotic the time I got there and they were so busy took some time to get the food but it was worth it.
