Pizza and burgers for teatime meal. Lovely food. Great people running the place. Delightful views out over the bay. Will definitely be back!

I walked with my elderly father along the beach from Baycliff to Newbiggin then followed the public bridleway along the cliff side fields which terminated without notice at Moat Farm. Unfortunately there is no access to the beach from the bridleway as Moat Farm has some fairly oppressive signs peppered about informing the public that there is no right of way through their property which creates more than a slight sense of hostility! Whilst reading these signs the owner approached us and respectfully informed us that unless we were guests at his tearoom (currently closed at that time) we could not walk through his land to access the beach. I explained to the owner that we had followed the bridleway to this point and asked him if there was a safe way to the beach without being directed onto the non-pedestrianized (and dangerous) A590. The owner relented and granted us access (this once) to the beach through his land. It seems dangerous to have created a bridleway funneling walkers to a Moat Farm bottleneck which they can only negotiate by purchasing a tea/ lunch or walking all the way back to Newbiggin of chancing oncoming traffic on the A590. Better signage or an alternate pathway would avoid these sort of conflicts.

Myself, my daughter and my 3 year old granddaughter were staying at my holiday location up the road from Moat cafe. After checking there website which said open we decided to walk to here for lunch we realised once we set off the walk was on a busy road but realised the cafe was on the beach so we could walk the beach way home as we had a 3 year old child and the road was busy and dangerous. Once we got here we were stopped by one of the owners who was annoyed we were there as said they weren't open contradicting the website info, we apologised as she seemed very cross and told us to get off her land to which we replied in shock we would and tried to cut past so we didn't have to go back on the busy and dangerous road with a small child to which she refused to let us walk past to a Public beach and told us to get off her land, she was very nasty and rude to potential customers upsetting myself and my daughter the way she spoke to us. Luckily the other owner came out and understood the road was too dangerous to walk back and let us walk the 100m past the cafe to the beach. There was no need for the way she spoke too us we totally understood they weren't open but wasn't our fault due to faulty website and that is not the way to speak to a family who had only come as customers for your business. Myself' my friends and family will never set foot in this establishment again.

What a fabulous lovely place!! The food is absolutely Devine!! And I would 100% recommend the sausage burger and the homemade chips they are beautiful! My boyfriend had the lamb abs mint Burger which he said was lovely. The owners are amazing so lovely so kind and friendly. They are one of the main reasons We Would return! Unfortunately when we came to moat farm it was extremely blustery. And as soon as we got our food it started to rain but this lovely couple let us sit in their own private garden under Their shelter so we could enjoy the food abs stay dry! It was very much appreciated and a wonderful place I would 100% recommend. Thank you so much.

Absolutely beautiful for food and drinks! I had a bacon bun whilst my dad had bacon and egg (fresh eggs!) and my fiancé had minted lamb burger with bacon which was incredible! We enjoyed it so much that we got another bacon bun to share between the three of us! Yum. Lots of cakes on offer . Fab views and beautiful garden/seating area. The only down side (which unfortunately puts me off returning) is there is no toilet available to use code which really puts me off as people are bound to need the loo when eating/ drinking. Being 6 months pregnant myself and needing to use the loo a lot, I asked where it was and they said there wasn’t one available, as a result we had to cut our time here short! Xxx

Stopped off here when taking the scenic route from Ulverston to Barrow. Friendly service, delicious bacon brioche roll and a robust cuppa. Indoors still closed so parked up to a fantastic panoramic view across the peninsulas and Morecambe Bay. Lucky enough to see Basil and Sybil, the migrating swans, on the farm pond too. Will definitely call again.

The indoor tea rooms are closed in the current situation but a takeaway service is available offering burgers, bacon or sausage buns, chips and ice creams. We both had a burger, freshly prepared on a brioche bun and very tasty. Private car park with access to the beach for a bracing stroll.

A little gem of a place that we have driven past and promised to visit lots of times but sadly never done so, but today we decided to do just that and I'm so glad we did, we popped in for a mid afternoon lunch and chose soup and sandwiches, a lovely little proper farmhouse tea room not one of those corporately owned businesses made to look like an ex farmhouse, this is the real deal, it's quaint and very charming with lovely views of what I think is the most beautiful bay in the world, Morecambe bay the place we call home. The owners are super friendly, attentive to your needs and make you very welcome, the food was extremely tasty, generously portioned and carefully presented, all home cooked and I can whole heartedly recommend the scones which are delicious. we wish we had visited before today and will definitely be returning.

Having driven past here many times, I decided to stop for a spot of lunch. Really friendly welcome from the owners, the food was excellent and obviously homemade, had Broccoli and Stilton soup with a homecooked beef sandwich, crisps and salad garnish. The couple on the next table had had sausage and mash which they had really enjoyed. Well worth a visit, I'll be back

We have only just discovered Moat Farm tearooms, which has lovely gardens in which to enjoy the nice food (especially the cakes). Wonderful, so near the accessible beach too. Vintage afternoon teas are their speciality, they looked superb but we shall try them on our next visit. We had lunch that was good, and food reasonably priced.

I'm walking the coast and came upon the wonderful, warm and friendly Moat Farm tea house. The host, John, was most gracious and we had a very good chat. The tea was wonderful, the crumpets with butter and jam were delicious and the whole setting was terrific. A peaceful, warm haven from the cold wintry afternoon. Highly recommended.

Cold ,dank surroundings, dismal outside loo with no toilet paper and very poor value for money. In our opinion a big let down.

What a lovely oasis! We sat under the gazebo in the pretty garden. The afternoon tea was fresh and all homemade brought on pretty two tiered cake stands. Delicate finger sandwiches on the bottom with a selection of beautifully light cakes on the top and of course, a scone, jam and cream! We loved it. There was so much it wouldn't all fit on the table! The couple running the tea rooms are very warm and welcoming and we will definitely be back to try their Sunday roast. The two inside parlour rooms looked very serene and a good place to relax may be on a blustery day.

We had a family lunch at Moat Farm. Because there was 8 of us we had a dining room all to ourselves which was lovely. The house is beautifully decorated and the food was home-cooked and tasty. We sat in the garden after lunch in the sun and had our dessert. It's well worth stopping for lunch or coffee and cake on a trip along the coast road.

Great place to stop for anyone in the south lakes area. Perfect spot just up a small path from the beach which makes for an idyllic day out. The food is lovely traditional British food, just as I remember from being a kid. Would recommend very highly.

Lovely farmhouse serving afternoon tea. Caught our eye as we drove past, so called for afternoon tea, it's all fresh homemade cakes and beautiful sandwiches. A couple of donkeys outside kept my daughter entertained. Would recommend

happened to be passing along the coast road, and saw signs outside, parked up, ample parking space and lovely views of the bay, enticed in by the young polite lad, have visited twice nice, first time for snacks and then booked afternoon tea, really, home friendly service and delicious fresh food both times, made us very welcome, even accommodating our request for back ground music, loved the roaring log fires too, prices are extremely reasonable, £10 each for afternoon tea, beautiful choice of fresh sandwiches, salmon, cheese, ham, beef, egg , and amazing selection of cakes, with scones , homemade jams, fresh cream and pots of chutney accompanied the sandwiches

We called in for lunch after seeing their advert on-line. We were welcomed at the door by a member of staff who was happy to tell us about the history of the farm, and their new tea rooms which has been operating about 8 weeks. We ordered soup and a sandwich and a pot of tea. The food was delicious, I can recommend the broccoli and stilton soup, it was delicious. Thank you for a lovely light lunch. Highly recommend a visit.

Terrible customer service! The young girl at the till clearly did not want to be there. She was huffing and puffing at customers! Yes, it was very busy as yesterday, 15th October was a beautiful autumn day but I would think they would be glad of end of season trade! I could not sit down because they were so busy so opted to ask for take away coffee and cake, only to be told by her 'I'm not doing take away'. Really? The local co-op is closed for a refurbishment and they really could capitalise on that if they employed more capable, less miserable staff! Shocking!! Won't return!

Called here for a takeaway lunch, used them several times before. Service was disappointing to say the least. Not a please or thankyou from the ladies working in the shop - even when I pointed out they'd only charged me for 1 flat white! Previous reviews also highlight the fact that the staff are miserable, they respond but do nothing to address the concerns raised. Also, I would've thought that as u was the only customer in the shop on a very wet day would have been positive for them - obviously not! Not sure I'll return here.

Visited here with my Dad today. Asked for a tea cake and then a scone both not on the menu anymore. I had a bagel with salmon and cream cheese paid over £8 and that was it no sides, no even a bit of salad - didn’t taste great. Dad ordered pancakes in the end 2 tiny pancakes on a dish - still hungry when we left. Not great service either. Disappointed!

Called in for a coffee and snack after our frequent walk along the bay and round back into Arnside. When this first opened I was a little wary as we are used to small intimate tea/coffee shops in Arnside. However this was our second visit and as we entered we were greeted by obviously the front of house guy “David”. Wow does this guy know how to do it Welcoming ,friendly, Northern (always a bonus). Had a lovely coffee and Hubby had a great crisp bacon bun. The vibe in this cafe/restaurant is great., modern but great service. We live quite locally and are encouraged to go in the evening now as well. In our opinion the best restaurants are always about the front of house and Crossfields has it right. Everyone in this place has a great view of our beautiful Morecambe bay.
