Miyazaki Japanese Restaurant & Takeaway in Windsor and Maidenhead

Have been going to Myazaki for a number of years and they never fail to impress with wonderful fresh and delicious food. This place is a gem.

Great food, we've been coming back for years. We've always ordered from the takeaway lunch menu and collected. It does have a lovely seating area to eat-in too!

After trying to eat here on numerous occasions, we finally made it to Miyazaki! Tucked away a short walk from the town centre, Miyazaki is a gem of a restaurant. Staff are sweet and accommodating, talking through the menu if needed. The portions are generous and the quality is great considering the cost. I had the prawn tempura and avocado rolls, photographed them, and then was so distracted by the tastiness that I didn't photograph any more. The chicken katsu was a full-bodied curry with plenty of rice. Chicken karaage was sweet and sticky, with crunch. Gyoza were cooked perfectly. It was a perfect lunch and much better value than some of the chains you might see around. A small note: the toilet is in a separate, outside location, but is well kept and clean. All in all, I'm excited to go back soon and would thoroughly recommend it!

Wow this place is so great - superb sushi and udon prepared by the chef owner who set up this restaurant straight from Japan. No wonder some of the top Hollywood stars filming or passing nearby have been seen stopping outside or sending their limo to pick up their sushi, so fab and so authentic !

We decided to go here for dinner spontaneously and did not regret it! The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was so fast. Staff were very attentive and friendly, and very genuine. The chicken teriyaki, chicken gyoza and chicken karaage were incredible. Will return to this restaurant many times in the future and would highly recommend!

Fresh and good quality, almost order every week! Lunch menu and Medium Plate are delicious. Usually I order take away.

Very small restaurant but clean and lovely place. The food is good for the low cost. The California roll was fantastic, some dishes are excellent, others ok. Highly recommended. There is a private car park just behind the restaurant.

We came in for a pre cinema dinner and they kindly squeezed us in and made sure our food was turned around before the showing which was very quick! We tried the sashimi, nigiri, gyozas, chicken teriyaki and tempura prawn - all perfectly prepared, full of flavour! Thank you!!

Very tasty, very nicely made. We had California rolls and udon noodles with prawn tempura. The rolls were well formed, with perfectly prepared rice and ripe flavourful avocado. The noodles were silky, the broth delicious, and the prawns fresh. Definitely would go back!

Beautiful food and extremely fresh and lovely drinks as well. Service was extremely quick and friendly. We arrived just before last orders and were accommodated so well. We will be back!

We love our visits to Myazaki! Authentic Japanese food, freshly cooked at affordable prices. Friendly family run with great service. Can recommend the tempura dishes including Ebi fry and the Katsu curry accompanied by a Japanese beer. Just like in Tokyo which we've visited a few times now. Recommend booking especially in the evening to avoid disappointment. Thoroughly recommend.

This place has been open for a few years now. It remains family owned and the Japanese owner cooks every meal for his customers, a wonderful restaurant and a fraction of the price of the top London sushi places. Really a pleasure to eat at for lunch or for a relaxed dinner. Salmon sushi is a specialty, as is their winter Udon soup or sesame chicken rice “Karage”. So fortunate to have this wonderful authentic restaurant in Maidenhead, it is better than ever.

Today (20/12/2022) we were at Miyazaki Restaurant for the first time, after failing to locate the restaurant previously. We were glad that finally we were able to dine there and the meals were authentically Japanese, as advertised, and extremely delicious. We had Salmon Sushi Set. Spicy Tofu Set. Chicken Gyoza. Genmaicha and Hojicha. Besides the delicious food, the services were also excellent, as if I was dining in Japan which is well known for its first-class customer services! Apart from that, the food was also reasonably priced. Our dining experience there was so enjoyable that we will definitely be back again, although we do not live there locally.

We’ve lived in Maidenhead for the last 7yrs and we are about to move down to Cornwall, so we are doing a final grand tour of our favourite restaurants in the area. Miyazaki was first on the list, we relied on them for amazing takeaways...

We had a Sushi set and Teriyaki Chicken. They are tasty and cooked in authentic Japanese style and priced reasonably well. The place is tiny, but will definitely go back again.

This restaurant is overrated in my opinion. Sushi is simply fish on top of sushi rice in a haphazard manner. Hot food is mostly frozen food available in oriental stores. Furthermore, hot water is charged.

I was passing and stopped on a lovely night . The service is conducted by a lovely lady . The food was tasty but small has portions . I ordered a drink which never arrived but a glass of water was placed down for me...

Went theare 2 weeks ago. Food was small but tasty and a young guy looked after us very well. But I noticed today its hygiene rate is 1 which stopped us from revisiting. It's a shame, I liked them very much

The service and taste is fantastic, it's just that the actual choice for vegetarians/vegans is so limited. Also there ae hardly any tables inside, so spae is cramped.

The food is always fresh and the sushi is the best I have had (obviously for takeaway during lockdown). This is one of my favourite places to go for fresh, tasty food, from sushi to Katsu curry would recommend again and again. Our favourites are Prawn and Avocado rolls, Tempura Prawns, Miso soup and Yaki Soba Katsu Curry. But just be careful when ordering over the phone as there can be some miscommunication from time to time so just ensure your clear to avoid disappointment. Some people have missed pubs or Macdonalds during lockdown but I have missed Miyazaki!

This has been a firm favourite of mine and my family. The food is consistently amazing, the service is outstanding- very friendly, hospitable and efficient. We are currently using the takeaway option as it is currently unavailable to eat in. The takeaways are packaged beautifully and the food inside was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. The prices are also very reasonable considering the high quality ingredients and skill of the chef. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First time I’ve had sushi since lockdown (obviously was to takeaway) but was the best sushi I’ve had for a long time. And woman working was very friendly and inviting. Will 100% be returning for takeaways and to eat in when things are back to normal!

Found the place off tripadvisor, the rating is well deserved as food is delicious, at a good price and staff are very kind.

Went for a quick lunch. Firstly it was very busy (Tuesday) but we found a table. ( it’s quite a small place). Very nice lady and younger assistant were helpful. Food is very authentic and obviously cooked fresh as there was a bit of a wait. My wife had the salmon teriyaki which was quite substantial and I had the vegetarian tempura udon ramen. Great value too. Finally I’ve been to Japan a few times and I was surprised how good it was for somewhere outside of the main cities

I visit Miyazaki at least 1 a week for lunch. They are so friendly and serve top quality sushi and other hot lovely options along with plenty of veggis options. It is small so you may be sat close to another customer but that doesn't bother me at all. It is always busy at lunchtime which is a testament to their food. The high ratings are deserved fully. The best place in a sadly depressing town centre. The set lunch menus are great value for money considering you get an excellent miso soup as part of the deal. I can't imagine not visiting Miyazaki at least once a week, to the extent when they shut for holidays I have serious withdrawals!

This is a great Japanese restaurant. We eat here regularly, their chicken karaage is our favourite. It’s fried chicken but like no other. We had a seaweed salad, chicken gyoza, tuna nigiri and salmon nigiri, 2 chicken karrage and 2 rice, 2 beer and green tea. We advise you book as it can get busy. Definitely an amazing local family run restaurant.

This is the best Japanese restaurant in this area by a long long way. The freshness and quality of the sushi is fantastic, and the other dishes are all excellent and authentic (my wife is Japanese and she thinks it is some of the best Japanese food she has tasted outside Japan). The service is very good - we have been coming back ever since it opened a few years ago. Try the tempura and also the udon soup!

Best Japanese was place in Berkshire. The food is identical to that of food in Japan. Especially the rural regions. Highly recommend.

A great example of a famiy busniess that takes itself seriously, really nicely put together not too expensive but really well delivered. Bit short on tables in the evening but just really satisfying.

We eat here at least once a week as the food is excellent and the staff super friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough - especially the gyoza and prawn tempura!

Recommend booking as this is a very small place and clearly popular. The food was made fresh to order but served in good time, it was delicious and the battered items were light and crisp. The service is just what you need, the tables are cleared when you need space, you don't feel rushed and it's easy enough to get attention. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Maidenhead.

Been here a couple of times only, but have enjoyed it each time.

Nice food, but keep your coat on - what we ate was lovely - chicken Gyozo, Katsu curry and Katsu with soba noodles. The place was buzzing, really busy (the dining doom is very small), with a nice atmosphere. Also great value!

It's very small so you need to book or get there early. Family run but the quality of food is astounding. Better than any 5 star restaurant. I usually eat the dumplings and chicken katsu and my friend usually eats the prawn tempura with udon soup noodles. When I'm in a rush I order a take away from work, then pick it up 10 mins later. I just wish they were also in my home town in Guildford.

Small restaurant which made it compact and cosy for me anyway. The service was quite quick service and food was good too. Not common to find all qualities in one restaurant.

We’ve been meaning to come here for sometime. Decided a dreary Saturday afternoon was the time to do so. My son had the set plate sushi special, hubster had chicken karaage and i went for the chick Katsu. What can I say, all were high quality and absolutely delicious and extremely well priced. Would highly recommend and we will be back again!

Love this restaurant. Quite small but I love that it isn’t too loud and the atmosphere is happy and personal. Menu is varied and delicious. Service is great. I could eat here everyday.

I have been meaning to try this little place for ages as I have heard great things about it . I cannot believe I have not been before! So upset that I have missed out up until now. A truly lovely family run restaurant with the best sushi my friend and I have had outside Nobu! Not to mention the value for money, the best chicken Gyozo I have ever eaten anywhere including Japan ! What a lovely little hidden gem and Maidenhead is lucky to have you.

Visited this small restaurant with someone who grew up in Japan. The opportunity to speak Japanese was great for her and for the staff. The chef and his wife moved to England about 12 years ago intending to stay a year...opened a restaurant and here they are! The restaurant is small, formerly a terraced house I think. Food is definitely authentic Japanese, prepared on site. We found the sushi was acceptable, everything else was truly great. An authentic taste of Japan in Maidenhead.

In Maidenhead for business and decided to try here for dinner instead of eating at my hotel. The ladies who work there were so lovely and made me feel at home while I’m away. The food was perfect - I’ve never had chicken gyoza so tasty! Will deffo return next time I’m here

We often come here as a family. Best to book as v small and popular. The kids and grandparents all like it. Varied Japanese menu with curry and noodles as well as good sushi. Lovely service. Our favourite place in maidenhead.

Found this restaurant whilst browsing the streets for dinner, and what a gem of a place. A small, intimate family ran restaurant with a very simple but lovely menu. This is the 2nd time In month we visited as it’s reasonably priced and the food is of good quality and the service is lovely. The Chicken Karrache and Katy’s Curry is a favourite but also now is the Udon noodles and Eel Sushi. A good overall experience.

Was very impressed with the Sushi here. The best I've tasted in the region. Friendly owner. No problem bringing kids here. Don't be put off by the small size and location - well worth a go even for the seasoned Sushi lover!

Turned up at 6.30 on a Saturday thinking it would be empty but thankfully we read earlier reviews and booked. Had a lovely meal and would thoroughly recommend. Bes5 place to eat in Maidenhead hands down.

Came to Maidenhead and stayed in a hotel nearby. Walked over and got a table (booking may be wise) for 4. Ordered a smattering if dishes, including Karasge, sushi, edamame, Katsu and drinks. Having lived 20 years in Japan it’s always nice to look out for the real deal and this felt like the real deal.

This small and somewhat unassuming restaurant produces some of the best Japanese food I've eaten. Nothing too fancy, but so tasty and reasonably priced too.

A great little restaurant serving a wide range of fresh sushi/sashimi etc. We decided to make our own Japanese tapas with various starters and sides. Spicy tofu, teriyaki salmon, yasai gyōza, sushi, sashimi, chicken katsu and rice. All served with cold Asahi. All lovely! Staff and service was also great. Recommended.

A small cafe/restaurant serving authentic Japanese food, delicious. I have spent some time working in Tokyo and this restaurant is just as I have experienced there. If you want luxurious and swanky this is not for you, but if you want a Japanese experience with authentic food and drinks, this is as close as you will find.

Fresh food. Nice staff. My daughter and I went for a Katsu chicken. We loved it. Very fresh and the ladies are very friendly.

I can’t understand why this place has high scores. We ordered sushi lunch set, chicken teriyaki and chicken gyoza. I am afraid all of those are frozen food.

I wasn’t primed for just how excellent this was going to be. It’s a small place. The tables and chairs are clean but basic. They are a simple, two man team (husband and wife).

Japanese cooking in my eyes is the hardest. My first encounter was on a permanently anchored boat on the sane in Paris.

The owner cooks. He has a nice place. Simple in style. Basic you may say. But always this place is packed ... lunch and dinner. It does simple well. Simple does not mean boring. For a simple meal ... this is simply worth going to.

This place is probably Maidenhead’s best kept secret. Easy to miss bit really worth your visit if you are jnyo Japanese food. Friendly staff, excellent fresh sushi. Lovin it.

The food is freshly prepared and full of flavour. The sushi is so tasty and the staff are always friendly. If your not local you will not find it as it is nicely tucked away on ‘take away’ alley. The food is so good it leaves you wanting more. Can recommend the prawn tempura with its light batter and the spicy prawn and avocado sushi which just melts away in your mouth. To make you feel better it’s lovely and healthy. We are seen there regularly it’s worth every penny. Highly recommended also suggest you book your you will miss out.

Tucked away among the fast food pizza and kebab places is this great Japanese restaurant offering very good quality Japanese dishes in a nice friendly, family run restaurant.

We visited on Saturday night. The place is small and clean with friendly staff in a very run down area of Maidenhead. The sushi, nigri and sashimi was good but the noodles were disappointing. They were a little tasteless.

Came here with friends and found the awsome service and fresh fish totaly and uterly amazing. The staff are so gorgeous you feel you genuinly looked after and welcome whats inportant is the fish is so fresh and i really understand fresh fish. In my area this is a great place to go.

Perfect place, delicious food and swift service. Cant really ask for much more. The fish tasted nice and fresh and the rice was well prepared. Everyone enjoyed their food and would definitely come back again !!

This is a very unassuming restaurant. Decor basic Food amazing Staff attentive and helpful. I just wish their menu was slightly bigger but what they do they do every well. Book to be sure to get a seat!

Although it’s a small restaurant it’s a nice cosy restaurant. The food and the service is good. It has an authentic air to it. The sashimi and sushi is fresh and delicious. And yes the miso soup is nice as well.

In the valley of the blind the one eyed man is king. And as Maidenhead’s only japanese restaurant Miyazaki might not quite reach kingly status, but it is pretty princely. The service was friendly and the food is genuinely pretty good and the price is affordable and fair. I came in for a lunch after walking past it and although it is quite small it is cosy. The tables were mostly full (which is always a good sign) and the set lunches were all under £10. Everyone was trying the sushi set so obviously I tried something different and went for he chicken karaage set. For £7.50 it was pretty good value for money. A good amount of rice and chicken and an accompanying miso soup. The rice was cooked well and not too sticky, the chicken karaage style however was a little different to what I’ve tried before. Rather than just being deep fried and juicy, which is the way I prefer it, the chicken also had a slightly sweet teriyaki style sauce, which i wasn’t too keen on. Anyway you really can’t complain for the price and I left with a full belly for a fair price. They seemed to have a decent sake selection so I’ll be back and next time I’ll try the sushi that seemed to be everyone else’s favourite.

What a little gem! Finally popped in after wanting to visit for ages and I was not disappointed. Although it was busy the lady serving was warm & so helpful - I ordered the sushi platter & an utterly delicious sake and have to say it was the most memorable sushi meal I’ve ever had. The rice was perfectly flavoured and melt in the mouth whilst the accompanying seafood was fresh and so flavoursome. The miso soup which came with the meal was incredible - I never knew miso was supposed to taste like this! Can’t wait to return to this lovely little restaurant.

Popped in here and was lucky to get a table in the window on a busy lunchtime with a colleague. The best miso we'd ever had followed by sushi - quick service and super fresh, loved it.

We have been regular customers for a few years & love returning. This family restaurant is always friendly, polite & welcoming. The food is tasty and modestly priced.

Visited here for the first time. My husband and I very much enjoy good authentic Japanese food, so much so that I have taught myself how to make sushi. We thought the food was OK maybe a bit limited but not that bad that we would avoid in the future. What did put us off was the lack of space this restaurant has and the way the owner crammed us onto tables like sardines without any apology. If you are expecting your customers to sit on top of each other then why don’t you get rid of your small tables and have a communal table. Nothing personal about this restaurant. Would only do takeout in future.

Simply amazing. Tasty. Fresh. Authentic. The tempura is off the charts! We had octopus and salmon sashimi, goyoza and ebi Udon. Service great and not stupid prices either. Highly recommended.

Visited during the week and enjoyed the lunch option. My wife had the sushi plate and I have chicken teriyaki, both were lovely. The sushi was really fresh and tasty and plenty of it.
