Food is absolutely Disgusting, the Lamb donee smells fishy and rubbery, it’s literally all sat in way to much grease literally swimming in it, even my kids refused to eat it so that says a lot everything just smelt funny sausage in batters were soggy and dripping with grease £30 of food straight in the bin wouldn’t recommend will never order again

A friendly owner and a nice freshly cooked fish and chips.

I had a steak and kidney pie and regular chips, which were delicious. The owner was very polite and friendly. It's cash only, which is not very common nowadays.

This is such a friendly place, extremely warm and welcoming. The food is great and so are the prices!

This review is not about the food but just because I turned up to find it closed. Said 12pm on the website but the shutters were down. Man next door said he opens sometimes in the week when he feels like it. WTAF.

Absolutely fantastic. Mr Kostas kindness and warm and welcoming demeanour makes the already perfect food even greater!

Stopped for lunch and was very impressed. The owner is very passionate about the food he serves which transfers over to the taste. Chips were great, fish cake cooked fresh and the curry sauce was nice and thick, not watery. Based on the food and service I’d highly recommend. Somewhere to go back to when I’m next in the area.

He was polite even made excuses for bad food I brought a scallop on my way past I thought how Loverly nice man little creapy ngl but there you go I left opened the scallop took a bite crispy outer solid potato when I looked down I see green potato all the way through I felt sick Took it back he told me it's the oil he used left it on the counter and left I was not even in the mood to argue mate But that's just vile Your reviews are fake as he'll and anyone who's ever put a bad review you have some little bipolar moment and try to make on like tou remember exactly who they are and shut them down Sort your food out

First time visit on Friday lunchtime. Beautiful fresh cooked Haddock and chips with traditional curry sauce and mushy peas. Had a great chat to entertain me while I waited. I definitely recommend this Chippy.

Not a bad sausage and chips, which actually is very hard to find in Coventry. There was some room for the chips to be a little more crispy but they were ok and well seasoned. The owner is a lovely chap!

I was here on Friday night and the man serving was very nice and polite. However... But the food was absolute rubbish. The chips were somehow overcooked and raw at the same time he said he would cook them fresh but I think they were fresh before the covid lock down. The fish was not much better, not alot of flavour but plenty of oil. Mushy peas here okay though tbh. I should have known better than to carry on and order when I saw the state of the counter it was awfully greasy. And he only had about 3/4 things in the hot plate... guess there's not much business here to warrant keeping food fresh on display. I would only person I would recommend this place to is the environmental health inspector. Keep up the good work buddy..... 😞

The owner was fairly nice, but the food was bad. I was told he'd make a fresh batch, but the chips were solid and undercooked whilst the fish batter was tough.

Firstly the fish is awful, chips were mostly black, fishcake was very burnt, pasty was so tasteless, spring roll full of grease, curry tasted unusual not like traditional chip shop curry sauce and the electric fly killer not switched on, place looks dirty, avoid!!!

Absolutely disgusting cooked fresh for us chips was like solid potato kept forgetting what we wanted took hours for our food chips had black skin on all the edges kebab came out of a pot which was soaked in water even pink looking kebab man said it was pink but definitely cooked everytbin was just discusting will never in my life eat here again

Will never go here again. Found hairs in my kebab and metal prong and was soaked and slimy. Chucked it straight in the bin as would of been ill if I'd eaten it. Stay away or risk food poisoning 🤑

He is very friendly and takes care of his customers. the meals are really good value for money. I will always recommend him to anyone.

Went into this place after work the guy in the shop was pleasant and chatty. The fish and chips were amazing. 10 out of 10 tasted great, big portion and a good price couldn’t ask for anything more

Super fish and chip shop. My mum enjoyed visiting here as a child in Coventry in the 1970s/80s. We regularly return when visiting the area from Aberdeen. Food is always fresh and piping hot.

Was over from Derby to see mum who lives local. We decided to have fish and chips . Found this Chippy down the road . Owner was really friendly and made everything fresh for us . Very generous portions and good quality too .Top marks Mister M ! Will certainly go there again next time were over .

Had the Lamb Kebab with pita bread, meat was really juicy and the portion was also big.. will definitely be going there again.

Very friendly owner, we had a good chat while waiting for a freshly made fish and chips. I tried a few chippies and this is (so far) the best in Cov, plus very local business. Mr. M shared some secrets about his delicious fish and recommended his curry sauce which was excellent. Portions are a bit too big, large chips were too big for two adults (with fish).

I placed a order last night through just eat to find out it was collection only as the owner had no drivers available so i made my way up there and the owner sorted me out what a legend he is! Great chippy

Food reviews are always subjective. I'm sure some people love his fish and chips. Mine were awful. Swimming in grease when I unwrapped them. Soggy batter that one side completely stuck to the chips, when I separated them. Fish actually tasted nice. Half the chips were ok, some were hard with loads of eyes. Wouldn't go there again.

First time at this chippy tonight as only noticed it on my way home from a school run earlier today. So all night I thought I have to try it. Met owner Who I must say was extremely polite and very welcoming. He cooked me fresh haddock and even offered me a choice other fish. Had a good chat about life whilst food was cooking I got home and dived into my haddock and chips and I have to say, it was the best fish and chips I have eaten in a very long time. Cannot wait to try more food from a great old British chippy and a superb host. Thank you Deano

Lovely fish n chips from Mister M. all fresh the fish n chips. the fish was also halal alongside many other halal options but overall great fresh food and tasted delicious

Ordered from here last night and was severely let down. How can you mess up the chips? You put them in the fryer at the correct heat and you cook them till they are DONE. They were soggy and the the southern fried chicken stunk and was wet also the mixed kebab was rubbery and tastless over wet chips. Very stingy on the meat considering it was so bad. Never ever again. Well done 👏 guys
