Mister Hau's Oriental Express in Eastbourne

Was had been microwaved was hard as nails couldn’t eat it put complain in still waiting on a response 4 days later never again

The food, particularly the noodles, were bland and flavourless. No spice to the dish and no seasoning.

Really disappointed with food tonight. SERIOUSLY strange smell and rancid taste of the chicken with cashews, am taking it back in person to you guys tomorrow, scary scary ! Ribs had little meat on. Not impressed tonight, sorry 😐

the rice was good then noodles were good. the seaweed was not bad if a little salty. the issue was the fillet steak, it was too tough and very hard to cut, the pieces were also too large.

food was very good and did come early but that was fine as we had not set a specific time anyway. Very friendly delivery service as well

all the food was lukewarm despite it being a collection. the starters were limp despite being a crispy selection. bland and disappointing.

Simply love the food, ample sized portions, piping hot, more than enough for 2 sittings. Top of my list for Chinese food now

Disappointing experience. The dishes lacked a reasonable amount of meat compared to the huge amount of veg/fruit which was a shame because the meat was well cooked. Unfortunately the dishes we had did not match the price, which more than happy to pay if the quality was there.

First time ordering from Hau's. The food was ready super fast for collection in 10 mins or so! The spicy duck curry is absolutely incredible, as well as the chicken balls with sweet/sour sauce, and egg fried rice. Restaurant itself was smart and modern too. Would 100% recommend

Very tasteless Chinese… I was expecting a lot better considering the price! The crispy chilli beef had virtually no flavour at all. The duck sauce looked like it had been watered down and didn’t have much flavour either. Ordered quite a few different dishes and none of it really tasted of much, all quite bland. Pretty disappointing :(

Hate to be that person but food was awful. Rice was so over cooked, ordered a dish and I received a chicken chow mien which was nothing like the dish I had ordered. I could of picked up the plum sauce and it wouldn’t of moved it was that thick. Overall it wasn’t great.

Only had take away, worth the drive from Hailsham, food was very good indeed.

Amazing food and lovely service. It was our first time coming here but we will make sure it's one of our new regular treat restaurants!!

Only 5of5! Loved it, loved it,loved it !!! Food was amazing! Good portion size . I had soup and a starter, it was just the right amount! Please ask for chopsticks, they bring 🍴 by default. The staff is friendly. The indoors had a nice vibe, also looked authentic style! Overall I was happy that I stopped by for my dinner!

We usually order from here and love the food. We ordered at 7pm and we had been given a delivery time of 8.05-8.25, which we thought was quite late anyway. The food arrived at 8.55. We had called several times and had been told we couldn’t get a refund as we ordered through Just Eat. The food arrived luke warm and we were not impressed. It was quite tasteless, which surprised us as we usually have incredible food from here.

We got the set menu C for two people. Per head was £27. Came with three courses. All came one after the other. Food was very tasty although we found the crispy beef a bit too sweet for our taste. Staff were very friendly and service was fast. The experience was nice. Toilets were downstairs.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing the food was delicious and service was wonderful I wish we lived in Eastbourne but each time I come to see my son I will definitely be returning the best Chinese meal I've ever tasted deserves 10 stars

Chicken dishes were below average, rice was not freshly cooked.

Ordered in advance and they made a mistake with the delivery time. Fine, I could let that slide. But when the order eventually arrived it was one disappointment after the other. Chinese greens with garlic was actually just one vegetable and far from green. The other dishes were low on quantity of ingredients and the sauces a bit tasteless. For the price we paid the quality should have been a high standard. It was not. I called to complain and was met with rudeness. They don't care about keeping customers happy or delivering quality food. Will not order again from them. There are much cheaper and better quality Chinese restaurants in Eastbourne.

When we first started to use Mr. Hau's, the food was ample and well cooked. Tonight we received a meal that was truly annoying, as the Seafood Starter for 2 people was so TINY. The crab cakes were the size of £1.00 coins, and the rest was well, just .... plain mean! I rang them up to complain and they didn't care. Just ensured that what we received was as described on the Menu, When I said we would not use them again, we were met with absolute indifference. Clearly they are wealthy enough not to care about complaints, or customers concerns. The picture below is what £12.50 buys you, as a starter for two people. I also ordered Prawns with Cashews, and that's exactly what I got. Six prawns, Cashew nuts, and no veg.

Not nice at all. Rice was dry and egg in the rice was like plastic. Everything was far too greasy, absolutely saturated and dripping with oil. Wrong item sent in delivery and no free prawn crackers even though over £30 was spent. Won't be ordering again

Ordered fruity ribs. They use to be full of meat, these were not & only 5. Mr Hsu traditionally would serve these as a large size portion of ribs. Thick fruity sauce. The price charged is extreme and the quality was poor. Singapore vermicelli. Tasteless. I’ve had food from here on/off for decades. In last 5 years have been using a competitor. Thought give oriental express a try again. Please up your game, was disappointing.

Driver came to front despite instructions for the rear. But, food was outstanding as always.

This place was recommended to me , don't think I will order again. Chips were cold, ribs had very little meat and way too much sauce. Saving grace were the chicken balls. Quite disappointed

Thought would try a new place. Toffee banana was lovely, sweet and sour had lots of pineapple but meat coating was a bit soft, crispy chicken wasn’t crispy but nice taste, satay chicken, plentiful chicken but sauce too hot. Mixed bag.

great food, very fast delivery but the delivery driver was extremely rude and let themselves into the building without authorisation. They should’ve called when they arrived.

I ordered from here as my usual go to for a takeaway was closed. The delivery time and handover was great. The food itself was not too bad, however, the dishes were more expensive for a smaller portion than other local restaurants eg 4 dumplings for £5.30 for 4 instead of £4.80 for 6. The Char Sui buns were also not the usual fresh, fluffy dumplings I expected but the smaller, uniform dumplings that are almost identical to ones that I can buy in a supermarket and heat up (again at a higher price). So overall I’m sorry to say that I was a little disappointed on my first experience.

We ordered a delivery which arrived promptly. Unfortunately there was no satay sauce with the chicken and the duck for the pancakes came as two whole roasted legs, not shredded as expected.
