Very good quality, authentic Cantonese food. When friends visit from Hong Kong this is the place they like to go when craving a taste of home. Good choice of dishes, efficient and friendly service and great prices for the quality. Even the take-away is top notch. Would recommend.

As a customer of 35 yrs this meal wouldn't have been sent by elvis ...less than half the container filled with chicken curry ...noodles very greasy ...seafood dish had only 3 prawns in it and also tiny portion ...sad to say wont be going there again

Bad fishy smell and taste in the mixed meat ho fun, like the prawns had gone bad. The rest of the food was good. First issue with quality I’ve experienced with this restaurant so hopefully it was a one off.

Nice chow mein. Ordered chicken and beef received onions, onions and guess what l, more onions. This place used to be good. Not going to bother ever again, such a disappointment unless you like onions instead of protein of course. 1 out of ten for protein. You have lots of choice nowadays, my advice is go elsewhere.

spring roll was overly greasy and over fried

S@S chicken balls - special chow mein . chicken balls were on point but same as any chinese was a little bit oily but thats expected. the chow mein on yhe other hand taisted a little off to the point i didnt eat it

chicken with rice was OK but I cannot believe you sent me what were supposed to be ribs with barbecue sauce!!!!! The rubs were an off brown colour and smelled SO SO bad, it was obvious the meat was off, SERIOUS HEALTH WARNING ⚠️. The sauce was more like a gravy.

Just ordered a takeaway and will never again eat here. Food was so so so greasy even down to the chow mein, flavourless and practically inedible. All you could taste was oil. We spent 50 pound and I wish I just cooked at home, super disappointed.

Had the Black Bean & Fried Rice dinner box and it was really flavourful! The beef tasted fresh and chewy (instead of dry and hard) and was good value for money.

I am having to unfortunately delete my old review and post a new one. For the third time last evening (27 Oct evening 7/730pm) I visited this place this time with my friends. The initial 2 times,I have visited alone and there was a different server (female) and she was lovely. The female server/restaurant manager last evening was ridiculously rude and downright racist. One can be having a bad day but in her case she was consistently mean. I am happy to discuss this further when and if someone responds as I don't think the details require a public audience. But if you are in hospitality, the literal lease you could do is smile and respond. The food was great as usual, the portion size still a wee bit of a problem.

Omg what can we say, staff amazing and friendly, food absolutely outstanding. Quit small restaurant inside so book a table but absolutely amazing really couldn’t fault anything. Thank you so much for an amazing evening and fabulous food .

Excellent food and friendly service. It beats anywhere we’ve been to in Chinatown, London. Not overpriced either! Can’t wait for our next trip to Eastbourne and a visit to Mr Hau’s.

brilliant food, quick delivery and on time also hot, definitely better then where we usually order from which is usually the maple, but crackers would be a plus next time.

We ate here and had a set menu, reasonably priced but portion sizes could have been a little bit bigger. Service was a little slow and could have been more attentive.

Lovely little restaurant. The service was great, attentive and friendly. 2 of us ate, we had mini spring rolls followed by aromatic duck followed by sizzling chicken with spring onion and ginger, lemon chicken and egg fried rice. Pint of Cobra and large glass of house red. All delicious!

Without doubt the worst Chinese food I’ve ever experienced. Unbelievably bland across the range of dishes ordered, totally flavourless. One dish was stinking as if the meat was off and this ruined the rice/noodles it was paired with. The worst part was when making a call to communicate this and arrange a resolution there was a complete failure to take responsibility, no apology, and a refusal to replace all dishes. A refund was requested but nothing has been received as yet. Very disappointing.

Always use here, lovely friendly staff. Always had good food and service.

Ordered at 5:12 for 6:30pm. Messaged at 6:29 to say would be 6:50. Not really good enough when i’d ordered in plenty of time. Wife had to go to work so it was all a bit rushed. Food was ok but the dekay took the enjoyment out of it.

We discovered Mr Hau's a few years ago on a trip to Eastbourne and now it is our go to place whenever we are near. Currently staying in Hastings, but we just had to make the journey over. Exceptional food, great service and nice surroundings.

We've just discovered this place, and it's going to be our fav Oriental restaurant and takeaway in Eastbourne. I had crispy noodles with seafood, while my partner had fantastic spring rolls, lemony chicken, and a banana dessert. We can definitely recommend this place

Ordered for 7:20 delivery arrived at 7:55 sent order back not paying for poor service and cold food won’t be using again order at your peril

Very bad feeling, even worst than Take out. Crispy lamb, yes real crispy like eating charcoal. Feedback to the cook and they said it is the way they do it . Change to another sweet and sour pork. Of course, very disappointed too. Taking very long time to do it and what the look is this.

Love this Chinese restaurant . It serves great traditional Chinese food and the chicken and sweetcorn soup is one of the best I have tried . The beef is excellent and the chicken cashew nuts very tasty indeed . The staff are very friendly and polite.

Had a beautiful Lunch at Mr Hau's Gorgeous food lovely and cool atmosphere on a hot sunny day. Good prices and a Tom Yung soup to die for was exactly like the one I had in Bangkok. I was served by the Lovely kind owner.

The food was good, the portions are not very big. It wasn't fuel at all, even though we chose Szechuan style chicken and it had pepper in the changer. But they have a great homemade chili sauce, it was really delicious

Unfortunately they don't have a zero out of 5. I have ordered from here several times to the same address and today accidentally ordered twice. The delivery driver laughed at me and told me to contact the restaurant who then told me that because it had been cooked twice there was nothing I could do about it!! When I said I was going to write a review he said "go on then" I have NEVER experienced service like this!! Do they not communicate between the front of house and the kitchen? If they do, maybe it's the same attitude they give their customers

the rice was good then noodles were good. the seaweed was not bad if a little salty. the issue was the fillet steak, it was too tough and very hard to cut, the pieces were also too large.

A wonderful, cosy beautifully decorated restaurant with excellent service, We opted for a complete menu, which was outstanding, very tasty, beautifully served and we felt well looked after and not rushed.

Superb food, though not specifically mention vegan (vegetarian) but plenty good dishes for vegans. Tried vegetable platter, bean curd and mushroom, stir fried noodle. Lucky Buddha may be an exciting surprise find!

all the food was lukewarm despite it being a collection. the starters were limp despite being a crispy selection. bland and disappointing.

Average value for the money. Mains were decent, but soup was horrible. It looked like a sour vinegar sauce watered down to pass for a soup. Lunch deals are cheap but I’m not coming back.

Simply love the food, ample sized portions, piping hot, more than enough for 2 sittings. Top of my list for Chinese food now

Disappointing experience. The dishes lacked a reasonable amount of meat compared to the huge amount of veg/fruit which was a shame because the meat was well cooked. Unfortunately the dishes we had did not match the price, which more than happy to pay if the quality was there.

First time ordering from Hau's. The food was ready super fast for collection in 10 mins or so! The spicy duck curry is absolutely incredible, as well as the chicken balls with sweet/sour sauce, and egg fried rice. Restaurant itself was smart and modern too. Would 100% recommend

Very tasteless Chinese… I was expecting a lot better considering the price! The crispy chilli beef had virtually no flavour at all. The duck sauce looked like it had been watered down and didn’t have much flavour either. Ordered quite a few different dishes and none of it really tasted of much, all quite bland. Pretty disappointing :(

Fabulous food, great service, functional setting close to the seafront

The meal was quite good but it was served in badly chipped dishes and not knowing if the pieces that had broken off could have possibly ended up in your meal. I complained about our starter meal being served in a chipped dish but when the main course was served both dishes were badly chipped.

Hate to be that person but food was awful. Rice was so over cooked, ordered a dish and I received a chicken chow mien which was nothing like the dish I had ordered. I could of picked up the plum sauce and it wouldn’t of moved it was that thick. Overall it wasn’t great.

Only had take away, worth the drive from Hailsham, food was very good indeed.

Only 5of5! Loved it, loved it,loved it !!! Food was amazing! Good portion size . I had soup and a starter, it was just the right amount! Please ask for chopsticks, they bring 🍴 by default. The staff is friendly. The indoors had a nice vibe, also looked authentic style! Overall I was happy that I stopped by for my dinner!
