Miss Elephant in County Durham

Ordered online and due to a just eat mistake our order wasn't originally delivered. The stagg went out of their way to correct the mistake, cooking the order fresh and delivering after close. Fantastic service, would give an dctra star if able!

Had the scrambled egg breakfast. The egg was grey said it was cooked in a dirty frying pan. In fact the egg wasn’t cooked through and was watery. Cakes looked good in the pictures but not sure would go back

Lovely place with lovely staff members, not a bad word to say about anyone or any of the food, will definitely be returning, would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a nice quick lunch or desert

Pleasant little place in Chester Le Street, and certainly worth a visit if you're looking for a decent coffee at a fair price.

Had coffee and a toastie and a crepe Coffee was just warm Crepe was very expensive with extra money charged for a squirt of cream etc… The toastie was very basic and ££ Coffee was luke warm… Came away thinking bit £££

We had a savoury pancake each for our brunch this morning. So so tasty!!! Pancakes were packed with the choice of filling and full of flavour. Accompanied by a delicious coffee ☕️ Couldn’t recommend enough ☺️

Sunday morning breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast was expensive enough without having to pay an additional £1.60 for Ketchup and Brown Sauce.

Came in with friends for a coffee whilst visiting from Birmingham, food and drinks were all amazing, specifically the classic pancake - the strawberries were very fresh and plenty of nutella for my sweet tooth😂. Cant fault the service, especially the young girl with coloured hair, she offered some of the friendliest service and was incredibly welcoming. A credit to the company. Would highly recommend.

They have a good choice of dessert. Specially on a hot day like today, We had the Banoffee sundae. Can't wait to try them again

Stopped off for a quick takeaway cuppa and toastie. The cafe is very nicely decorated and the staff very friendly. The pancakes and waffles that people were ordering looked amazing. But the toasties were awful. Out of one of those crap little toastie machine’s. Hardly any filling and couldn’t chew the edges. Dreadful!! I would definitely go back And try the pancakes or waffles but stay away from the toasties

Took my granddaughter and wife along for an afternoon treat. Little one had the nutella and strawberry pancake, my wife had the lemon and sugar version and a cappuccino. Granddaughter somehow also managed to devour a strawberry ice cream and a milkshake. I had coffee and a very nice carrot cake. The staff are friendly, particularly the young lady who served us. Smiling and helpful, great to see! It came to a very reasonable £21, the slight downside was it was quite breezy outside, due to us having our dog along with us. Not the fault of Miss Elephant, though! 100% recommended by us!

This is a great place to eat especially with friends and family there is very friendly service , making it always a pleasure to visit here wether I’m having pancakes or waffles as the food is always delicious. I would highly recommend this place because it is an incredible especially from a cafe standpoint. Will definitely visit again in the future!

I’ve been visiting Miss Elephant regularly since it opened last year and I’ve always had a great experience. The atmosphere is great, staff are very welcoming and accommodating and they do a great selection of pancakes, waffles, milkshakes and savoury food too (dumplings are to die for). I’m also a massive coffee lover and Miss Elephant’s coffee is just 👌🏻 Definitely recommend!

Visit here quite reguarly and always have a lovely visit. The staff (and owners) are lovely and very accomodating. The cafe is always spotless and very spacious so even when busy, you dont feel crowded. The pancakes/waffles are a bit on the expensive side but huge and loads of different toppings so worth the treat! And although I have never had one the milkshakes look fab too. They provide light lunch options which are lovely and always served hot and quickly. My only criticism is the COVID measurements .... it could be better. There is no hand sanitiser clearly visable in the cafe and track/trace is flaky which I believe needs to be improved. It wouldnt stop me visiting but if Miss Elephants could get this right it would be a perfect visit.

Visited for a tea time treat and had sweet waffles which were absolutely delicious- great portion size and great value. BUT no hand gel on arrival... apparently it was on the sugar station. I don't take sugar so never found it. I had my own thankfully. I had to ask whether they were going to take details for track and trace as nobody mentioned it. No one wearing masks or visors. I have contacted the cafe since the visit to ask for their views on covid measures. They highlighted a poster which they display in their window which explains they have completed a risk assessment. Different saying you have done it and actually applying and putting measures in place. Plenty of other places much more effective dealing with covid measures and safer. Won't be returning.

I met a friend here for a snack and a drink. It’s not a bad sized place and the prices are fair. We both ordered a scone and they were served warm and were delicious. I will definitely return.

Took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme to treat ourselves and we weren’t disappointed. Husband had dumplings with cheese potato onion and bacon and I had a toastie . We followed this with carrot cake lemon cheesecake an iced coffee and a milkshake all for £10.30. It was so nice we will return even at full price

Visited today cafe very busy no hand sanitiser at entrance ordered food at counter no track and trace info requested.Food arrived given wrong order which was taken away and given to another customer and my order was taken from another table and given to me which I refused and replaced with another .Staff not wearing gloves or mask/visor.Large parties of adults and children allowing children to run around and lie on the floor.Just at this time I think this is unacceptable behaviour only realised when we left no details had been requested.Shame as the food was lovely however would not return.

A lovely cafe specialising in pancakes and waffles, both sweet and savoury. We’ve been four times now for family treats. The cafe can also be used for breakfast and lunch as well as snacks. It will be even better then the marketplace work is finished...

Very nicely decorated place where you can get a fantastic customer service. I did enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee made by Magda and divine waffles as a treat of a day. Highly recommended.
