Haven't used Mirchi for a little while, however decided to have a curry as we've used them for many years, even through their name changes/rebranding and never had a bad meal....until now.... Portion sizes have dwindled dramatically as we ordered the same as we used to and was always stuffed, I could have eaten all of our takeaway on my own, the chicken tikka starter was pathetic, four small pieces of chicken which were slightly overcooked , the bombay aloo portion has been halved, as has the main curry dish, also the naan was much smaller and rather chewy like the dough has been overworked, also nothing much was hot only slightly warm. Overall we're shocked, prices haven't changed but the portions have and will definitely not be using them again!!!

Beautiful food, excellent service and very clean. Lamb tikka korma was great…Lamb was 10 out of 10. Dropped in on the off chance as we were passing through and very glad we did. If we’re every near metheringham again we would definitely come back.

Went for takeaway today, at 3.35 as opening hours state 3.00 p.m to 10.00 p.m on a Sunday, both on website and on door. Waited outside until 4.45, when a person came to the door and said they were not open until 5.00 p.m. I asked why it says 3.00 p.m, person said it always says that but it is actually 5.00 p.m. Suggested it should be changed, but person shrugged and went back inside, saying to come back at 5.00 p.m. Will not be returning!

Visited as a family of 7 with children aged between 8 and 19. Worst service I have ever experienced, we were the only people in the restaurant. Drinks came staggered and were asked numerous times what we had ordered. Food took a very long time to come, and when it did was only warm and portion sizes were poor. Did get a small discount on paying but didn’t distract from the fact it was a very disappointing experience. Not worth driving out of town and won’t be visiting again.

We had been for a sit in meal a few months ago, and could not fault our meal and the service. My daughters birthday yesterday, we got a take away. I’m angry and upset at the quality of our meal. The korma was lacking chicken pieces. The lamb pieces were tough. Our pershwari naan was disgusting, it had a yellow powder inside. I have no idea what this thick yellow powder was throughout the naan.

So out i go for another attempt at a really good curry while I'm working away. 8 miles I travel to this place,I sit down and order a cobra,5 mins later the waiter who speaks little english says the cobra has run out but I can have a magners,I should have walked then. Charging for popadoms and dips is something I'll never get used to but they do 80p per dip. Onion bhaji ordered and a spicy curry with pilau rice and a keema naan, each course took an age to come, tiny little bhajis were ok then to the main,I laughed when the rice came it was so small and the curry was in a big bowl to make it look alot more than it was.It was ok the curry but nothing special. The keema naan was excellent though, anyway £30 for the lot wish I'd stayed in. I've give it a poor rating based on my experience of the whole night and not just the tiny portions of the food.

We were regular visitors. Last [Feb] were disspointing. The curry was not Hot as I ordered. When complained we were given a bowl of fresh chillies! Tried again for last time with Saturday 8.pm for 4 people. HORRIBLE! Ordered a £12 sharing starter. 1 burnt and Black lamb chop. 1 finger size sausage and 2 oxo cube size chicken cube with some lettuce arrived! It did not even come as a starter. Everything came together. I rarely ever complain. Not this time. The waiter said... OK No charge for the starter. No apology Nothing. Our curries was not Hot with spices etc. It was ordered HOT please. My sons coconut dish has lumps of sugar in it! One out of 4 were acceptable and it was luke warm. The garlic bread was Ok The wine was good!!!! £100 and a total waste of my money .People..Do not waste your money in this place. Finally ...it was cold. Even the waiters had coats on. The only thing that keeps it going is DILIVEROO. You have been told. Try Asda....Much better and Save £80.

Wouldnt go back! Hate having to be critical but the food and cost really was pathetic. As someone who has eaten Indian currys for over 50 years I really wasnt impressed with this "Bangladeshi" curry house. If that is an example of that type of curry I went to the wrong place. Couple of examples ......ordered "Large king prawn curry ".......got 3 of them!.........asked for "Raita" which wasnt on the menu and got a spoonful of plain yoghurt with some chopped cucumber, skin as well, thrown on top......not nice!

Every time we go it’s delicious. Ordered the king prawn shashlik on our last visit and not only was it presented beautifully but it tasted wonderful. Excellent quality large king prawns. In fact we all thought the food and flavours we delicious. Prawn chat puri never fails as starter. We’ll be back again, always impressed. And the service we excellent, very attentive, smiling friendly staff who are clearly passionate about what they do. Thanks for a great evening.

The main chicken tikka balti and rice were delicious, very nice and in keeping with many of the glowing reviews seen on this platform and others. However, all the pappadums were overdone and quite stale tasting. Further, onion bhajis (while they had a good texture) had almost no flavour; the accompanying salad tasted sour. The sheek kebab was very chewy to the point we didnt eat them after a couple bites and the chicken pakora was very bland. Unfortunately our rice had a couple hairs in the container- it happens - but it detracts from any positives. As I say the Balti was delicious, but with so many options around the area, this wouldn’t be a revisit for us.

Booked on a Saturday evening purely on reviews as we were just overnighting nearby , so not sure what to expect as it’s alway a chance thing but I needn’t have worried the food and ambiance were top drawer everything as ordered and hot and spiced to perfection! Staff were friendly and just right ! Will definitely be going again

Staying nearby & booked a table for Saturday evening. Food was excellent, portions were huge (should have shared a starter) & it was very reasonably priced.

* Traditional Bangladeshi food * I stumbled across the Old Coach Tandoori by default as a lot of the other takeaways in the locality are closed on a Tuesday. When I called to place an order, I had the option for collection, delivery or to eat there. I had not realised that it was a restaurant. There was seating inside and outside; I was thrilled to save myself washing up. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, not greasy and very well priced. I took some home and it was even better the following day. - Order several poppadums as they are thin. Lovely and fresh, but I wish I had ordered more as the lime pickle was really good. - Try the chef’s special rice. It has cashew nuts in it and pairs really well with a peshwari naan - No alcohol, soft drinks only but pub next door - Quiet and no music. If you’re looking for atmosphere, may be best to get a takeaway. However, I enjoyed the fact there were not many customers and is great for my partner who is neurodiverse. I will definitely be visiting again!
