Absolutely fantastic food. I ordered Keema pararatha (not on menu), but I got one...and one of the best I have ever had. Also I managed to forget something off our order, ultimate service, they got our dish out within 10 minutes. I cannot thank them enough.

Regular users. Chicken dhansak is the best and so is the saag aloo. Best Indian in Sleaford. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Can also buy dhansak sauce on its own. Out of this world!!!

4 colleagues visited, superb service, friendly and attentive. Great choices on the menu of both traditional Indian and Nepalese. My food was lovely and each member of our group enjoyed their own choices.

Been here about 6 times now. There's a great menu, meaty and veggie, and quality drinks. Always enjoy the meals here.

We came here for dinner a few months ago and enjoyed the food! Might grab takeaway from them next time. I recommend trying the momos, monkfish, and mango and lime cider!

Excellent service and Nepalese cuisine. The lamb was so tender; everything delicious and modestly priced. None of the American platitide, "How is your food?" when you are enjoying good food and conversation. Highly recommended.

Service was great and the menu was extensive, with the normal Indian dishes and a few Nepalis dishes. Friendly staff, attentive .and catered for my dietary requirements (no coriander). Loved the food and was presented well too. Will be going back next time I’m in the area.

Had a date night with my husband and wasn’t disappointed. Was early for our booking but was shown to our table straight away. Food was amazing staff lovely and the restaurant itself was lovely too will definitely be back and would definitely recommend

Wonderful customer service over the telephone when we ordered and prompt delivery from a really lovely delivery driver, however the food was mediocre. We had a tikka masala and a chicken mango special and they were quite bland and essentially tasted the same . The garlic and coriander naan was overpoweringly drowned in garlic with no taste of coriander and quite chewy . The sag aloo was also flavourless. We aren’t local to Sleaford and have an incredible Indian local to where we live so we do tend to compare . However the food from here was really bland in flavour. Thank you though for such professional and prompt delivery service

I recently ordered a take away from here, I was excited as I had one about 1 and a half years ago and it was great. However on this occasion the food was bland and not much flavour at all. The chicken was clearly cheap cuts. The chicken was chewy and some pieces pink and black inside. It was honestly gross. I’m very disappointed by this and I won’t be coming back! Everyone rates this place but it’s gone downhill big time!

After receiving a takeaway menu leaflet from Gurkha 19 through our door, last Thursday, we decided to place an order over the phone for home delivery. I placed our order at 6:15 and was told it would be delivered by 7:30. The delivery time came and went with no sign of our order. A few minutes later I rang the restaurant and asked if they knew why our order had not been delivered, I was put on hold. They eventually came back on and and with a bit of confusion on why we hadn’t received it, they said they would contact the delivery driver and get back to us. That return phone call didn’t happen! Over the next 45 minutes, I called three times to express my disappointment with their service and demanded to speak to someone who could explain why my order was still missing. I was informed that the manager would call me back, this did not happen! At 8:25 I received a call from the driver to say he would be with me in 5 minutes. Eventually, at 8:35, 2 hours and 20 minutes after my order was placed, the food arrived. On opening the bag, I found that every item of food was cold!! To even attempt to eat the meals, everything had to be reheated. The standard of food, both starters and mains were poor in quality and we ended up throwing most of away. Later, after reading the reviews that had been posted over the last month, in hindsight, I would not have wasted our money!! A most appalling service!

The faulty towers of Indian restaurants. Clearly the take away business was extremely busy which had a horrible impact on the restaurant. Take-away staff walking through all the time, constant telephone line ringing. Staff very stressed also. Food poor quality that felt like it had been heated in microwave. Hard to give any good points sadly.

Ordered a takeaway which wasn’t great. In one dish, the chicken tasted off so I didn’t eat it and it went in the bin. Other dishes were satisfactory but not good enough to make me want to eat here again. Service was friendly and efficient.

This used to be a fantastic place that served consistently amazing food!! Sadly our last take away was dreadful and was thrown in the bin. I phoned and spoke to the manager and even though I’ve been going for years and brought a lot of custom to this establishment they didn’t want to make a full refund and I was messed about with promise of calls that wasn’t made. He first said it wasn’t the usual chef and then said it was… how can a fantastic chef go from 100 to 1 over night? The chef suddenly was in charge and said he would offer us a discount on our next meal however due to the concern of the next meal being valentine and another possible dreadful meal we’ve declined and cancelled our booking. The call was ended by the manager who stated he would phone me back and again, this hasn’t happened. If this is a new chef, I would avoid until they sort themselves out and get back a chef that can cook amazing food like they always have done prior.

Really fantastic food - we all had two little plates rather than a main meal, and all of the starters and veggie sides we had were delicious and very different in flavour which is really great. Very definitely recommend the Momo, just delicious - really fabulous steamed dumplings with a tasty sauce.

Food is really lovely, well priced and the portions are good with plenty of meat in the curry unlike some other Indian restaurants I have been to. 🩷

We visited here on 17th Oct and booked a table for three at 7pm. It was our first visit here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and the food was really tasty and brought to the table quickly, despite them being really busy. We will definitely be back! :)

Went here for a large family gathering. Staff were fabulous, and the food just as good. I'm from the Glasgow area which is spoiled for choice with quality Indian restaurants, but Gurkha 19 compares favourably with even those. Everyone loved it, with a few being regulars. Next time I'm back in the area, I'll be hoping to visit again.

One of the best Indian meals I've had . Freshly made, perfect balance of spices, tender cuts of meat exactly the right portion sizes. And friendly knowledgable staff. Highly recommended.

Meal was top quality. In store service was good. The website gives impression they deliver and they dont. Meal was also hour longer than originally stated. They were super busy when we arrived to collect. Quality of food was not impacted. Worth the wait.

Will only deliver if you live in Sleaford We live four miles from the town on a main road. Last time we collected the order some items were missing we were not reimbursed for the missing items! Terrible service and food pretty poor but we have lived in cities for years and used to higher standards.

We went there on Saturday evening in a group of four. Unfortunately for us there was a large group of 15 already there. They had several very noisy children and the adults were noisy too with bad language being heard from one man in particular. They had been seated, had given their orders but then all re-seated themselves in different places so when the food came it took ages to find out who'd ordered what! We sat down at 7.30pm having booked that time and our poppadoms were brought out fairly soon but it was then 9.15pm before we got our main courses! It all seemed chaotic and very noisy. The actual restaurant wasn't very authentically 'Indian'...very brightly lit, no background music.. it felt more like a bus station cafe than an Indian restaurant. The food was ok but nothing special and they lacked the finer points of service like bringing you the bill with a few mint sweets at the end. We had to go and ask for the bill and they then had to hand write all the prices of the items on a scrap of paper and add it up on a calculator. They appeared to need extra staff as they were not only overwhelmed by the large wedding party but we're also dealing with a constant stream of home delivery orders too, as well as trying to cook and serve the other diners. All the tables were in a long row either side of a narrow walkway and delivery drivers were squeezing past restaurant staff and then hanging around outside the kitchen/toilet door area making it congested and awkward for food trolleys to come out. We'd only gone there because I'd won a raffle prize of a meal for one. Our group of 4 had poppadoms & pickles, 3 naans, 1 rice, 4 standard mains, 2 diet cokes and 2 beers and it came to £72 which is more than I'd normally expect. Not a great experience, probably not the fault of the staff...they maybe should have blocked out the evening a little longer for the wedding party. Another group of 4 actually complained about the delay of their food order. We won't be going back.

Gave 5 stars on my last review, we've eaten in the restaurant countless occasions, always taken our friends when visiting for a good curry,food always delicious, had a number of takeaways over lock downs, however our last order arrived late and short of a curry and not to normal standards, complained they really didn't care, we've ordered a takeaway tonight 3 hrs late, we've called constantly engaged or phone picked up and cut off, when we did eventually speak to someone "food on way" didn't ask our name anything !! , order just arrived, we've sent it back, don't pay by credit card if we had we'd been struggling for a refund, it's a real shame

Was told the order would take up to 2 hours, fine. OVER 3 hrs later the order shows up MISSING essential items. The food that was there was barely warm at best. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Had our first take away tonight as a treat for my twins 17th birthday. Everything was perfect. Easy to order, piping hot food, quick delivery and excellent food. Would definitely order again.

Visited as a party of 5 during covid. The social distancing set-up was excellent with big screens between the spaced out tables and we had finished and were out of the restaurant by 10 pm. The food was absolutely amazing and to be honest, the best indian meal I have ever had anywhere. The staff were very helpful and efficient and the food came without any problems or long waits. My Garlic Mushroom Puri starter and Chicken Kadhai main were delicious. All the dishes were empty so everyone enjoyed their meal.

Ghurka 19 shout out! Had a delivery from them tonight, they forgot part of our order, quick phone call and it was swiftly sorted & delivered within 10 minutes ! Highly recommended if you’re into curry! Thank you!👍

Fresh and authentic. Visited on a Monday night so it was fairly quiet but lots of takeaways going out so clearly doing a trade. Had a very nice chicken tikka karai with just the right amount of heat. Fresh onions and peppers and really tasty chunks of chicken made this feel home cooked. Will be back.

6 of us went out for my fathers birthday and couldn’t fault the service food or price. Starters, mains, sides and drinks £125. All very tasty, felt safe though restaurant was busy. Thank you very much for an enjoyable night

The food was hot and fresh, the service was good but ... we felt the food was lacking in spice, not chilli, that depends on the dish you choose, it simply lacked the flavour we expect from Indian cuisine (this is of course a subjective view). We also found the atmosphere to be a bit 'thin', little by the way of decoration and the lightening was too bright, not a tea light on the table kind of place. Okay for the daytime but it didn't create the kind of intimacy that is appropriate to the later evening encouraging you to linger over a last drink, we ate and left.

Due to Coronavrirus we couldn’t go to have a sit down meal. We located the menu online, easy to follow ordering instructions and online payment. With a countdown clock telling you how long a wait to collect your order. On collection food was ready, got in home and it was piping hot, tasty and felt like more on the plate than in the restaurant. Very good service and food tasted great as ever.

A very good takeaway delivered for free. Their Paneer Kadhai is excellent, good biryiani, tarka dhall and bhindi marsala. Very fluffy nan. It all came to £22.60 which could feed three or even four if not hungry. I have also eaten in which was very pleasant with good service.

Our first visit and it certainly won't be the last. Went with 2 friends who had been before. The restaurant is spotless, the service welcoming and nothing too much trouble. The menu is extensive with plenty of choice. The food we had was absolutely brilliant and reasonably priced too.

Ordered a takeout for collection; ready on time. Great curries, great naan, tasty rice, nice chips(often takeouts are soggy) these weren’t. Haven’t a bad word to say. Our first experience ordering from Gurkha 19, will certainly be returning!

Four of us went here for New years eve 2019. To be fair it was a last minute booking and we were surprised to get a table. It was the busiest I've ever seen it. The staff were friendly enough, but not very talkative. The menu was fairly basic, not a lot to choose from but we all managed to find something. The waiter was quick to order and get our drinks for us all. The food came out pretty slowly. Probably waited about thirty minutes. Though this was probably due to how busy they were. The food was hot and looked presentable, though I'd ordered a hot spicy curry it was very mild. To be honest we all thought the food was a little disappointing. I know they were busy, but they should still get the food right.It wasn't horrible but just lacked any real flavour. But we were with friends and we still had a good night.I don't know if I will return again. The prices were in line with other restaurants so it wasn't any cheaper.

We had a lovely meal last night, we couldn’t fault the food at all. I was so pleased it was worth waiting for as we waited such a long time. We had to ask for our order to be taken after being sat down 40 minutes and then didn’t get our mains until 2 hours after first sitting down. It seemed like more food was going out the door for takeaways than to the diners in the restaurant. The only other thing needing improvement is the wine. We ordered 2 rounds of white wine, both times it wasn’t chilled enough. We asked for something colder but the same was brought back so we had to resort to putting ice in the wine, which is not something I like doing. We did give feedback at the time saying your fridge can’t be cold enough or the settings need changing. Overall the food is so delicious, just a shame it took so long to get it!

I called in here after having played a concert in the town, having been booked in by the promoters. Service was excellent, with one young waitress in particular an absolute gem with outstanding customer service. However, the food was somewhat bland, even having ordered a jalfrezi.

Been here on a number of occasions since the re-furb a couple of years ago and it has always been excellent. Good food, good staff, in fact I am going back again tomorrow night provided my booking is confirmed !!

Not sure if they have changed some chefs or recipes but I didn’t think it was as nice as usual last 2 visits . Food more bland and average . Always been brilliant for a few years so not sure if just bad luck , or standards have dropped .

We stopped by for a late dinner, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food is good quality. I'm a fan of peshwari naan, which was very good with dahl followed by Lamb Briyani. My wife had Lamb Shashlik and rice. Recommend!

We regularly go to Gurkha19 on a Friday- a bit of a treat at the end of the week. Visiting regularly really makes you focus on the consistent quality of the food and service, rather than a one-off review.It’s a treat, and one of, if not the best Indian / Nepalese restaurants I’ve been to. Would recommend highly.
