Usually great, the delivery this time was very late and the food arrived nearly cold. The driver had trouble finding the place, which has never happened before. I stupidly didn't spot this until I was inside and the driver had left, so I couldn't send it back. Can't be bothered now so I've stuck it in the oven to re-heat.

All curries and nan were cold. They were also tasteless and the daal water like dish water. I've been eating at Mirch Masala for over 8 years and this experience has stopped me ever going back.

Food was really tasty apart from the fact I didn’t know the lamb curry I ordered would be on the bone. Was still tasty but too many bones and not enough meat itself. The chicken balti was amazing and chicken was really soft & really succulent with amazing flavours. I’m Indian so I know Good Indian food and this was up there.

Delivered on time within 2 mins. Mains were warm but starters and sides cold.

Food was cold, every single dish including naan, mogo chips, curries and bryiani dishes. Boxes were smashed and leaking all over each other. There was no apologies from the restaurant at all. Over 2 hours from placing order had poor quality of cold food for over £40 bill. Not going to order again.

I ordered using your abysmal service from a restaurant called Mirch Masala in Norbury. My order was confirmed by the restaurant and delivery time was about 7pm. I had not received any food by 7:19pm and so tried to call the restaurant and there was no answer. I tried several times and there was no answer. I then contacted your site by chat and was treated terribly by Rohan D. No help, no answers to my concerns and call for help. Then I read that the restaurant has been closed down by the local council but is still on the Just Eat website taking orders. Why are you still listing restaurants closed down because of hygiene issues? I would like to give zero stars to Just-Eat too. Anyone ordering on Just-Eat shoud be very careful about hygiene issues.

Twice I’ve had a delivery and twice food arrived very late. Was lukewarm and also spillage in the bag. Will not order delivery again.

Chicken tikka and karahi methi chicken was fab as always. Kids food was quite dry. I guess kids menu was an added feature it wasn’t available on the menu anyways I asked the restaurant to make chicken nuggets etc. Main dishes are always spot on

My friends and I visited this restaurant before Christmas. The food was nice once we got it but they need to looking to waiters as the lady could not speak English and did not understand us. She couldnt recommend anything or explain things from the menu.

I haven’t tried this place out, had some guests thought let’s give this place a try. Starting off the night with the most poor service I have ever had with a restaurant. Ten of us had arrived, we hadn’t called up. Luckily there was space. The restaurant was very busy, and there were two people serving and taking orders for over 60-70people (rough estimate). We had to ask 2-3 times every time we ordered something. What I don’t understand is how you can have two people serving/taking orders for this many people. At one point I ordered a separate portion, and I was told that there’s the table of 50 who will get their food before me which is understandable, to an extent. We had waited over 15mins for 4 bottles of water, I asked numerous times. On top of all this 6 of our ten glasses we had were dirty, when I asked for new ones; I was told “do you not have glasses” the server then took the glasses and put them on to another table for someone else. We then had two plates which had all dried up sauces on it etc etc, asked for more. Once again in a very arrogant tone he said “yeh fine”. Bare in mind it’s been 40mins, and we’ve only had our starters; I understand sometimes things happen orders take time etc. But really, come on. At this point I’ve asked for an update, they responded with “I can’t do anything you have to wait” which I found extremely rude. About 20mins go by, our mains start to arrive. Another 10mins go by, and we’re still waiting on our naans. On top of that they’re very fast to take dishes, which kind of looks like they don’t have enough cutlery but rushing me is only going to aggravate me. After everything arrives, I’m being told the extra “starter” dish is now being made. Bare in mind it’s been a good while now. Luckily all the curry dishes were good, otherwise this would have set off everyone I was with. Finally my additional starter dish arrives, and it was so poorly prepped. Looked in edible, I wish I had taken pictures.. Seems like the staff here are running around like headless chickens, mainly catering for the larger groups. On top of this, I was not aware you can bring alcahol in to the restaurant. Anything we asked the staff, they were just reluctant to help. No management, all in all terrible experience. Will not be coming back. Also, the card machine is broken -_-. The display part of the shop at the entrance is empty, the people cooking behind the counter seem very dirty. The place needs a deep clean, marketing needs to step up and sort this out.

Honestly I can't believe this restaurant is still opened. We use to go to this restaurant a few years back, but in more recent years, the service and food has really declined. However, last night we decided to give it a try again, I wished I hadn't bothered, we were so disappointed we had to leave after the starters. The restaurant had an awful smell which was being unsuccessfully masked by incense. The starters were not great, and the popudums were stale. We didn't want to wait to see the mains!

You don't order vindy in this gaff, bring a few cans of Heineken and munch banging chops to start. Treat yourself to Karahi Chilli Chicken, Methi Deghi Gohst, maybe some Bindy and be amazed at the quality of the authentic Pakistani food. Great service and 15 quid a head, one of my curry houses.

Like many negative reviews, food quality is poor and staff knowledge is poor and they don’t know what customer service is called. They offer papadums as complimentary when you order your food, however we were not given and people before and after us were served, I asked this and the answer given was we forgot... strange but I think they look at people and offer them these services. I use to live in Norbury and was regular there in 2000’s and food then was good and so was service, if I’m the owner of this restaurant I would be worried, at some point this restaurant will close down at this rate of service and tasteless food. First of all just bring your own drinks! They don't do tap water (first I've ever heard of it) and most of their soft drinks have run out. Bring water...you will need it. Everything is either too salty and too hot. Everything is drenched is butter or oil. Orders went missing constantly and it doesn't help that the receipt doesn't say what your paying for- so who knows what if you've been overcharged or not. The waiters were not the most competent lot. Never ever again.

We have been their 1st customers since they open in Norbury and have also been visiting their Tooting Branch since it is opened and the food and service is always Great! Never ever have had any complaints. Our whole family loves Mirch Masala!

Always visited the M.M in tooting and the food was tastey & nice. Happen to go past the M.M in Norbury and the food from starters to mains tasted awful! They closed down recently to renevate and just opened back up recently which made no difference to the food sadly! Never going back there again!!! As a side not when the bill came it was covered in food oil and satins!!

Well it is really - Tooting remains the go to place for the highest choice of excellent restaurants and cafes serving Indian/Pakistani food, but Mirch Masala in Norbury is a very good alternative. Its a place that has had its ups and downs over the years but we fondly remember first going there perhaps over a decade ago when it was half the size and always had a queue going out of the door - and they served rice in glass butter dishes with the lids on - and it was the first restaurant where we saw the delicious methi (fenugreek) on the menu. Now it has had a recent makeover - including the kitchen - and is really rather splendid. We were going to Lahore Kebab House which to our disappointed appears to have closed down - so MM it was. It was a Sunday night around 7.30pm and actually quite quiet - plenty of choice of seating on the brand new comfy seats. Menu looks much the same. We ordered chicken korma (I am newly converted to this typically mild dish - great flavours to be had), methi gosht, sag gosht, brinjal bhaji, mixed veg, rice, plain nans and of course their outstanding onion bhaji - unlike any onion bhagi you have ever had. All was delicious, all was very well cooked, none had any 'after effects'. Highly recommend. (As ever not correct choice for pricing. It is casual but the price is not - £43 for three - so I have selected 'mid price'.

The lunch buffet is no longer served, in fact they don’t have a lunch menu now. We had a lamb curry, very oily and the meat was tough. The “tandoori” chicken was yellow and tasteless. The staff were disinterested. Alcohol is no longer allowed. The ladies toilets stunk! This was last week. I went back again today just to be sure I had not caught them on an off day. It was the same poor quality food. I will not be back.

Visited Sunday evening with family & friends. The samosas arrived waiter didn't know which one's were vegetable so he picked one up and tore a corner off!! UNBELIEVABLE!! But worse still was the fact that they were still frozen! My chicken tikka was dry, my sisters lamb tikka was dry and very chewy really unpleasant. One of the group found 2 hairs in her curry. Staff were totally inept. Horrible experience. Don't eat here. You're better off visiting Tooting.

Yo solía venir aquí para el 8 libras. 50 almuerzo tipo buffet. Me he ido. Ahora a la carta (o llevar), con algunas comidas ya cocinadas en grandes latas debajo de la encimera, y ofertas de fin de semana (Paya, Haleem, Nihari).

vegetarian curry was made with frozen veg, lamb tikka was so oily, lamb burned, sauce no flavour and warm, worst curry I have had in years. Inedible. Very disappointed as used to love this place before it closed down.

Served fast, tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was busy at the time we visited, but managed well. Definitely worth a visit if you don't mind your food hot, even their mild food is hot!

No volveremos a mirch masala de nuevo. Los aperitivos nos llevó más de una hora y media en llegar. Cuando pedimos más kebabs, el camarero se olvidó de ellos. No esperar a fin platos principales y no tenían los postres. Experiencia muy molesto, especialmente porque el camarero se ríe del mal servicio que nos iba a dar. Es una pena que el lugar ha ido cuesta abajo.

El peor restaurante que he ido. Fue de última hora nos quedamos con hambre y en la zona, así que decidimos ir a este restaurante. Nunca pensamos en un lugar como este podría existir en el siglo XXI. Primera visita y sin duda la última, la ensalada, parecía un poco cuando le pedí al camarero? Él dijo a veces es como eso. No comer Kebabs Seekh, el no preparado aún rosado en el medio, el goteo de aceite fuera de ellos poppadoms. El buffet de Dios mío el cordero era tan espantoso el sabor era tan desagradable como fue el pollo al curry. La única comida decente allí era el Daal (Lentejas) el arroz estaba duro no era suave, tuvimos que pedir el chutney de mango, el camarero no nos mantienen mirando un personal amable. La última cosa que debo agregar es muy sucio y antihigiénico el lugar necesita cerrar sus puertas. Mantente alejado de este lugar.

We ordered a takeaway, I suppose it was lazy not to prepare dinner that day. I spent just a few pence shrt of £60 and it was the worst meal I ever got from an Indian takeaway. Most of the dishes were salty. It was expensive and tasteless. Never again

Great value food and always super tasty. You don't come here for the service, but the food and prices make up for it. Mixed grill is fantastic and curries are great.

I lunched here. On using the restaurant previously I found the service friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Not so this time unfortunately. Though the waiter clearly spoke good English he was very surly and uncommunicative. He made it quite clear that he resented serving me though I believe I was polite and well mannered towards him.

Specially thanks to the chef who prepared our food, Food was lovely, we really enjoyed. Gentlemen who deliver our food was amazing smiling face what else you expecting? Definitely will order again.

Worst curry I've ever had - flavourless, just really spicy. Chicken tikka masala was in completely wrong sauce.

Order through Uber eats and have never been more disappointed with a curry! We got a sag aloo and a korma and didn't even eat half as they were horrible. I don't normally leave such harsh reviews but this was exceptionally bad.

The food it was amazing from here, however the portion size of one item wasn't up to standard for the price, however the taste makes up for it!

Terrible food. For a restaurant that is supposed to serve authentic cuisine, every dish tasted amateurish. Avoid this place, not worth the money, doesn't live up to the hype.

Wrong food delivered. When I rang the guy asked me to wait, put the phone down, started serving someone else and left me there for 5 mins! Food was not good and I found some meat in my paneer Tikka (I'm vegetarian) which wasn't dressed in Tikka at all, tasted heavily of ginger! Would not order from here again.

Mirch Masala is one of those eat-and-leave places. Get in, eat, and get out. Don't expect amazing service or anything but do expect very tasty, fresh and authentic food. This place is always busy to make sure to get there a bit in advance.

As always delicious lamb samosas. The karahi gosht (lamb) was so yummy.. spicy and tender. Food arrived on time still hot. I am rarely ever disappointed with Mirich Masala (Norbury).

Very tasty but lots of broken bones throughout the chicken dish put me off. Would have to be extra careful if serving this to children as they were small enough to be a choke hazard.

I love this place but the last curry I got was far too mild. I think when they see a white girl they instantly decide to make it less spicy. I spent my summer in India - if I order a hot curry give it to me please!

Been coming here for years and it's reasonably priced, nice food, friendly staff, always fairly busy, nothing fancy, bring your own alcohol. I have never had any complaints with the food and I can be fairly fussy! It's a little annoying that the card machine is always broken! Clean toilets so I assume clean kitchen! I will continue to come here for nice food, I usually then pop over the road to creams for a nice dessert afterwards! :)

My husband and I went here for dinner this evening on a recommendation from a friend. We were disappointed as it was ok, average, nothing special. The service was ok, not efficient or helpful just ok. The restaurant was clean. They do not accept cards so only cash and its bring your own alcohol. The food was hot but we would not visit here again or recommend it.

All I will say is that the choices for people with garlic allergies or people who follow the Jain lifestyle, there is not much choice, I had 4 choices: Mushroom bhajia, aloo bhajia, potato curry or aubergine curry. One particular waiter was rude; after I explicitly said I can't have garlic or chillies he said "you can either eat it or..." He didn't care and he was not friendly. They brought out another dish, potato curry, it was still spicy and it had chilli flakes.All I could eat in the end was mogo (fried casava), naan and tomato ketchup.Plus, I'm diabetic. This made me sick for a day. The experience was awful and I would not recommend this place for people with garlic and chilli allergies, or Jain people.

Curries are good, the tandoori roti was not fresh as it was made from a frozen doe which resulted to a dry hard texture. I had to bin it! Awful! I know my cooking very well and this quality was bad.

Ate here yesterday with my partner. First things first, the greasy atmosphere should of made us walk out. No customer service.. we brought out own drinks had to ask twice for glasses. No mango chutney. No jug of water on the table. The basket they brought the nan bread in looked filthy. I was hesitant to eat but was extremely hungry so had no choice. Got the mixed grill which was ok- four hours later sitting on the toilet seat for one hour thinking i was going to die!! Only reason why we went here was because Lahore in Norbury was closed. BIG MISTAKE! We should have gone to Mc donalds. You have been warned!!

I won't guild the picture - this place is a bit rough round the edges, as you would expect. The service prioritises speed and efficiency over courtesy, the bogs are somewhat rudimentary, the dining area is more like a cafe or cantina than a restaurant - but come on! This is the real deal. The food is authentic, the portions large, the taste divine, and it is cheep +++ This is where the local population from the Sub Continent goes and the bad points mentioned by many other reviewers, I suspect, are cultural differences around expectation of an eating place they haven't been sensitive too.I'll be happy to eat my words if I have a truly bad experience at this restaurant, but I doubt I will.

Place is about to close. Hardly any trade, cash only and Sky TV announced they hadn't paid their bill!Ordered a prawn dish and told 'we haven't any prawns'. Oh dear, the end of an era (10 years ago it was the best restaurant in the street ).

As always the food was amazing. Succulent lamb and a scrumptious aubergine dish with a kick. Food arrived hot and within half a hour of ordering. Highly recommend Mirch Masala, Norbury.

The food here is good however, the whole place is caked in a layer of grease and you get a whiff of public toilet as you enter the restaurant. The service is unfriendly and you are made to feel as if you are not really wanted there. The bathrooms are disgusting; there's no other word for it. When asked to wipe the table, the server did it with a tatty grey cloth which reeked of old mop. I took a shower when I got home.

There are loads of things on the menu, I have not tried them all but those that I have tried are really tasty. A few in particular that stand out (either ordered and enjoyed by me, or ordered and had praise from people I was eating with) are the bitter gourd and lentil dish (Masala Karela Dahl Burji), butter chicken wings (cooked with absolutely loads of ginger), chilli mogo starter, karahi kebab egg, and any of the parathas. I think the restaurant also specialises in charcoal-grilled meats and shashlik-style kebabs, but I have not ordered any of these. As with many curry restaurants, you can take the remainder away with you if you do not finish everything. As I would expect, the cold curry eaten from the fridge the following day for brunch seems to taste even better.The service is efficient and friendly. The decor is spartan but the ambience is convivial. The lack of a polished interior design job is reflected in the prices. When eating there, I often find the bill will be £10-12 per person for a curry with several sides to share (if some of the mains ordered are vegetarian).The other great thing about Mirch Masala is that you can bring your own drinks. Bringing your own wine or beer to Mirch Masala works out cheaper than drinking the equivalent amount in a pub, but you get to have a great curry as well as exactly what you want to drink.Do note that the default glassware for your own alcohol is half pint glasses for everything, even your fancy chablis.I have been here as a couple, with family members and with friends, and it has always made a good impression. This is a place for people who like to eat lots of very nice curry on a budget, and don't necessarily care about a 'fine dining' experience.

This place has been around for years and is rightly considered to be one of the best places to eat Pakistani food in London. The grilled meat and Kebabs are wonderful and the Onion Bajis are probably the best in the world (seriously). After a little problem with a bad review in the local paper regarding kitchen cleanliness, they suffered a dip in popularity but have upped there game and are back to their good old selves. The service isn't over the top friendly but it is extremely efficient and they bring you what you order, quickly. If you want to be fawned over then probably dont come here
