Mirch Masala in Leicester

Todaybwe had crisp bhaji it was good .but the manchuria was bland and no taste to it

We ordered masala dosa i was excited but when it's comes it's not what i was expecting dosa size is very small and not crispy. It was very soggy

As a Pav Bhaji lover, this was the worst Pav Bhaji I've eaten. I am 99% certain, it was just heated up from packaged stuff from Kohinoor ready to go stuff. Rest of the food was amazing hands down. Service was great too.

We went for a meal last night and it was terrible. The service was very slow as was the food that came out of the kitchen. I now wish it had stayed on the kitchen. In short.. The pani puris tasted stale The thali came with only 4 dishes The naans were out if a packet and were stale, cold and spread with some sort of margarine that just sat on the surface The dosas were small, soggy and served with chutneys that had definitely seen better days. The paneer sizzler did not sizzle so in turn the paneer was mushy. When asked how the meal was, and we said not good the waiter just walked away. All in all a terrible experience and a waste of £130. Avoid!

Food is outrageous... Rotten off paneer and naan. Being Panjabi I wound not recommend this ever. Additionally they charge 10% service charge without event telling customers about it. Totally disappointed.

Nice place to eat vegetarian dishes

Ordered pizza platter (Vegan for myself) and Matar Paneer, both dishes were deliciousl. This is my go to place as has a really good menu for Vegetarians and Vegans so always my first choice to dine in or take away. Panna

Vatsal was absolutely brilliant. Despite being completely rushed off his feet and covering for other staff who were off sick, he delivered exceptional service throughout. He didn’t stop for a second, working tirelessly without taking a break. His dedication, professionalism, and work ethic truly stood out. I understand he receives a bonus for positive reviews, and he is more than deserving of it—Vatsal is a real asset to the team.

We have visited Mitch Masala multiple times before, but this was by far the most unwelcoming experience we’ve had at any restaurant in Leicester. The staff member serving us was abrupt and clearly more focused on closing the restaurant than providing a good dining experience—despite the fact that there was still an hour left until closing time. When we arrived, we asked if they were still open, and while the response was “yes,” it was delivered in such an abrupt manner that we were left confused about whether we were actually welcome. Once seated, we noticed that all the tables had been pre-set for the next day, and we were placed at an uninviting table. When we requested to move to a nicer spot by the window, the staff member refused at first, but when we insisted, he simply walked off without a word. The food was equally disappointing. We ordered a Chilli Paneer, a vegetarian pizza, and a plain Dosa. The plain Dosa was fine, but the Chilli Paneer was drenched in sauce—more like a pasta dish than an Indo-Chinese meal. The vegetarian pizza was so basic that it looked like something a child could make in a school cooking class. To make matters worse, a hoover was left in the middle of the restaurant, and during our meal, the staff started hoovering at full volume, making it clear they wanted us to leave. When we ordered a second Dosa, it arrived burnt. I took it to the counter to request a replacement, but instead of an apology, I was met with attitude. The staff member asked, “Why do you want another one?” and only after repeating myself did he snatch the plate from my hand. He eventually brought another one, with the chef staring at us from across the restaurant, making us feel even more uncomfortable. This experience has completely changed our perception of Mitch Masala. The unwelcoming attitude and lack of hospitality made us feel like a burden rather than valued customers. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Worst food I have had in Leicester. Got a thali which had matter paneer and dhal. Food was bland and disgusting. Avoid

Went to Mirch Masala with my mum and we both regret it. We only ordered Dahi Puri, Samosa Chaat, and Paneer Chips and they sneakily added £3 on top of the service charge without informing us. For just two people and three small items, this extra charge was completely unjustified. They didn’t even show us the receipt and so it just felt so sly, and if I’m being honest it felt so deceitful like they knew we wouldn’t question it until it was too late. (They only gave us the receipt once we had paid for the food). If the food was amazing, I wouldn’t even care but it just wasn’t and that’s why it’s annoying. The Dahi Puri – Looked nice, but was absolutely drowning in yogurt. There was no balance in flavor – I could barely taste the sev or chutneys. Honestly, I could have just had plain yogurt at home, and it would have been better. Samosa Chaat – Mum said it was nothing special, just standard. Paneer Chips – Probably the best of the three, ( and we just got this as a side LOL) but still just okay. The staff were polite, but the service charge scam ruined it for us. We’ve been to other restaurants on Melton Road that serve WAY better food, with bigger groups of even 6 and more and never got hit with an unnecessary service charge. Other places provide way more service than Mirch Masala, where all they did was take our order, bring the food, and clear the plates. So what was the service charge for? Just ridiculous. Don’t bother coming here.

Queríamos un capricho y algo diferente y eso es lo que conseguimos, puestos de pasteles adecuados con dos capas de bocadillos salados... masala chai ilimitado y tanto desierto que casi explotamos. Pudieron acomodar una dieta sin lactosa (acabamos de optar por vegano, este es un restaurante vegetariano, así que no es de extrañar allí la facilidad de hacer esto). Personalmente podría haber comido menos desierto y más salado, pero la mayoría de la familia estaba feliz! Algo para cada paleta y la cantidad justa de atención del personal (Bhakti, Sneh y Soham). Hemos estado aquí en pareja en los últimos meses y tuvimos dos encantadoras cenas de media semana y también una comida para llevar desde el puesto exterior. Las mezclas frescas de jugo de frutas son deliciosas y vale la pena pagar más que en botella. Mucho más en el menú para explorar.

I wish I could rate below 1, this restaurant is absolutely ridiculous with rocket high prices. Horrible portion sizes, could not even fill 1 person as they were given in a very small disgusting frying pan. Ordered veg manchurian and it was burnt and tasted sour and the sauce was gloopy. Chilli paneer pizza was sour and there was no taste. Asked for water at the end, and the jug had fingerprints and bits floating around in the water. Yuck. Save your money and do not go. Don't know how this place is still open. P.S. they add service fee to the total bill.

Food is standard home cook food, nothing special Had their pizza's before which are surprisingly good compared to everything else. Service was quite poor, may be due to only one waiter on shift Desserts were standard too, Had the ferrero rocher cake which had overbaked base.

I recently visited Mirch Masala in Leicester and had a mixed experience. We ordered the chole bhatura, which was really tasty and full of flavor. The bhaturas were non-greasy and delightfully light, and the presentation was on point. The chole had just the right amount of spice, allowing the flavors to shine through. However, the pizza platter and chip butty were hugely disappointing. I ordered the veg pizza with fries and coleslaw. While the pizza was loaded with vegetables, the cheese was tasteless, and I couldn't even detect a tomato base. The pizza base was soft and soggy, which didn't help. The coleslaw felt like it was just mayo with a few slices of cabbage and carrots, and it was absolutely disgusting! My daughter’s chip butty was even worse—it was just a plate of chips with a dry sesame bun that was overcooked. We had to ask for sauce and salt since it had no flavor at all. We also tried the dahi puri, which was presented nicely, but it was overwhelmingly filled with yogurt, making it hard to taste the sev or any chutneys. On the positive side, the drinks were nice and refreshing. Please note that they also add an extra 10% service charge to your bill. Overall, it seems this restaurant focuses more on presentation than on the quality and taste of the food, which was below par.

Tuvimos un té de la tarde encantador hoy. Delicioso, sin fondo Chai, y un generoso y sabroso surtido de golosinas recién preparadas. Muy bien presentado, y un poco de un placer en el día de San Valentín, en uno de nuestros restaurantes vegetarianos favoritos.

My mother always says never complain about food and never waste food, I absolutely follow that and never waste anything. This afternoon me and my wife been here travelling from Derby to enjoy some food but the day was not in our favour and neither the cook (too below par average to call them even chef). We ordered chaat which came out bland, I mean chaat should be flavourful, but they manage to spoil it for us. But we are still fine with it as it could be sometimes that the taste buds are not with you. But along with that we ordered Chinese Bhel which is salty, I did ask my wife to taste it (and I am sure her taste buds are absolutely fine) and she said straight away don’t eat it as it is extremely salty. The worst part was that the bhel was burnt. I mean I don’t remember I ever eat burnt food but now I know how it tastes. Read through some other comments and you will find some repeat choice of words like blend, salty and burnt. When I complained about it all I got is we can get new one but I didn’t bother and unfortunately I had to waste food! Now question is can I go back again? I don’t know after few months I have to, given the choices around in east midlands that is where we mostly go as we get done couple of other things like shopping some groceries that we can’t get easily.

The menu and restaurant is all revamped but personally think the food could be better. Whilst it isn't *bad* food, it is rather underwhelming and given the area it's in surrounded by restaurants with similar menus, I wouldn't say it stands out amongst the competition.

Very disappointed ! Absolutely waste of money and time as we had various food ordered yesterday and no taste in any of the dishes at all. Noodles were completely blend so I had to request for chef to come and taste it which didn’t happen and aLao after trying some dishes didn’t touch mutter paneer at all. My kids even came out hungry as they didn’t like it. Worst food ever tried in Leicester with our guest. Please think twice prior to waste your money on which you won’t relish.

Today 15 of us had early morning Breakfast at Mirch Masala, Leicester. Sneh and Abhishek looked after us all extremely well. Both of them went extra mile. The Breakfast food items were tasty, well presented and well prepared. All of us had whale of a time. Very reasonably priced as well. Overall excellent service, lovely food and great atmosphere. We have come here before and will definitely visit again. Our couple Friends from Australia had lots of praises for everything. Well done to Mukeshbhai Thakrar and his whole team and the chefs too

A good place for vegetarian food

The cashier on a weekday said the cakes have fresh cream so we brought them. He was wrong as it was not fresh cream but more like icing and not nice. It was expensive and a waste of money. Would not buy from here again. The cashier also needs to be trained to give customers the correct information. They also did the most soggiest pizza we ever had and it was not crispy at all. It was messy to eat as the pizza fell apart when we tried to eat it.

We made an online order on a weekday with a discount code so got the order for less money and we were going to pay at the restaurant. We brought some other food too whilst there and the cashier guy was going to charge us the full price for the online order (i.e. without the discount code) when he did the total (with the other items we brought whilst there). Also, the way the discount code works is not well explained as its only £4 off your first order

Stopped in for dinner on our way from Leeds to London. Quiet Sunday night, but we were greeted with enthusiasm by Bhakti and Sneh. As a gluten-free vegan, I was very pleased to see a comprehensive allergen list. We ordered "too much" food on purpose, including a vegetable uttappam and tofu tikka masala (HIGHLY recommended, dry curry with excellent crispy tofu). THEY HAVE VEGAN FALOODA! Taking home what we couldn't eat, very pleased with the choice.

We came in late on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was quiet but we were treated to the best service you could ask for by Bhakti and Sneh. We didn't try anything from the Pizza or Mexican menu, but the Indian menu was delicious with lots of variety.

I ordered Spinach and vegetables stir fried ( Indo Chinese style topping on pizza. I was expecting flavour of Indo Chinese sir fried on pizza toppings but wasn't tasty no flavoured which was they described me before ordered. Disappointed 😔

I visited with my family today . The samosa chaat was really cold and its Like freezy one but the rest of the food was ok and this was over expensive restaurant bcz they charges for dining as well but expenses does not matter if it’s worth .

Pensé en probar esto ya que escuché buenas críticas además de los culpables habituales Bobby's, Tangoes, etc. Hice una orden para llevar y estaba todo listo en media hora para recoger. La base de pizza era perfecta con kheema de paneer. Bonito pau bhaji, samosas crujientes. Paneer tikka chisporroteo, fideos vegetarianos haka, paani puri, todo bien empaquetado y el encantador tipo que nos sirvió se arrojó en algunos brownies hermosos de cortesía como era mi mamá cumpleaños! Buena experiencia en general y la decoración del restaurante era encantador a pesar de que no comimos dentro.

This used to be our best pizza place for over 20 years but unfortunately not pleased with the quality of the pizza today! We ordered 2 Panner pizza's but it was so thin that all the toppings would fall off and it would have helped if some one had cut the slices. Pizza was very chilli for our liking looks like recipe has been altered and masala chips were stone cold and not tasty at all we won't be coming back again here from now on. Should have just ordered from mr veggies cheaper and better quality Am just really disappointed and shocked on how the standards have dropped this low? WONT BE COMING BACK FROM NOW ON LOST A REGULAR CUSTOMER OF OVER 20 YEARS SMH

Worst restaurant/ SUNA experience ever. Resturant was busy and was given a table near the kitchen entrance. Heat from the kitchen was unbearable. If you want a free suna with your meal come here. A customer was complaining about the heat at the till and she quickly went outside for some fresh air. We opened the enterance door, and with the breeze coming in, the temperature was bearable. Food came after 20 minutes. Staff closed the door, and I asked for it to be left open. The guy on the till informed me other customers were complaining it was to cold. We are customers and because you have seated us near the kitchen it's to hot. You should not seat any customers here. He said nobody has complained about heat. I told him that's not true as I witnessed a customer complain earlier. He refused to leave the front door open. We quickly paid the bill and left. THEY EVEN HAD THE ORDASSUTY TO CHARGE ME A ADDITIONAL 10% ON MY BILL. IF YOU WISH TO DINE HERE, PLEASE COME WITH A SWIM COSTUME AND 2 LITRES OF BOTTLED WATER. Enjoy......splash.

Average quality food. Sambar taste like north daal curry. Costly

The extra star in this review is because of how well they took our suggestions. For a restaurant that has the space and the ambiance, we were disappointed with the food. Our stomachs were full not our hearts.

It's a nice eatery on the Golden Mile, Leicester bang opposite to Bobby's. The interiors are very nice and reminds one of India. The food was tasty but the service was outstanding! All the staff including the owners are very pleasant and friendly. Shout out to the Masala Chai!

Had haka noodels, samosa chat, dosa and faluda. noodls was flavourless and cold and too oily told the server about my requet for it to be made spicy she got me chilli powder salt and paper. samosa chat alright but wasn't spicy enough had requested it to be more spicy too. one of the dosa was burnt had to request for new one. realised the samber was more like lentel. the coconut chutney was bitter as i bealive it had gone bad. faluda was only saving grace. it was worthless and a nightmare experience. first time food made me sad.

These guys have opened a restaurant but they do t have courtesy to serve water with lunch and they also charge sitting charges @10% of the bill, pls see bill attached, this is day light robbery , they expect me to take the thali and eat in my car like a take away . If I want to eat in restaurant then they will charge extra , this is first time I have ever seen this . Please avoid this restaurant since there is no free parking , I paid 2.10 parking for one hour , for this kind of money spent I can eat in much better place . Thanks Sukh Bindra

Great food, great service. Bhakti, Sneh and Abhishekh were fabulous with their service and their recommendations for food. The Masala Paneer dosa, the chola batura, the thali and the papdi chat was so so good. Please try. Wasn't too keen on the paneer kebab and the aaloo bun kebab (can't remember the name on the menu) Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Anytime we're back in Leicester, we're coming back for sure.

I visited to mirch masala Leicester today with my family. It was amazing to dine there.Abhishek the manager at melton road branch is so so brilliant, patient and helpful. An excellent service was provided by Abhihek,Soham and Bhakti. My daughters loved there paneer noodles, paneer masala chips and cake. The owner is very courteous too.

Delivery was 40 minutes late. Food was not warm, and we were missing one dish (the mogo)

Unfortunately standards dropped. Ordered a jug of diet coke, (costs £10 - 8.99 plus 10% service charge) and they served flat lidl cola.

The wedges were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The tofu sauce was unfortunately a bit sour and too chewy to finish. The pizza was good but pricey for the size.

Watch out for the 10% “cover charge” they are ripping customers off with on the bill. They had a sign stating cash only but when questioned reluctantly accepted a card payment.. hmm smells like tax evasion to me! Service was not great, had to ask for clean plates and water several times. Food was bland and tasteless and portions were so small. The pizza we ordered was supposedly “deep pan” but was thin as a supermarket flatbread.. not to mention the size which was best described as a child’s portion. The mango lassi was not sweet but tasted bitter. The food was underwhelming and dissatisfying. This place should have stayed closed the day it burnt down. Better options nearby. Avoid this place!

Absolute rubbish! Don’t waste your money.

We were just shopping and had parked up opposite Mirch Masala. Rather than go in, as very busy, they had a takeaway buffet outside (usual thing). We had the samosa/tikki chana chaat, mogo chips and pau bhaji with indian tea. We sat on chairs outside shop and ate. The samosa chaat and tea were lovely, didnt care for the others really. Main thing was that the food wasn’t fully hot, which i should have expected, and tea was small cup although very tasty. Probably worth going in, as have had great meals there.

We ended up here after many years, because our regular meet up place was closed on Wednesday. The food was very good, except the dahi puri. But two things let the experience down for us. Firstly the service - not enough staff serving, just two of which one started by giving us incorrect details (eg began bharta not available, when it was). Luckily the 2nd person was able to step in and took the order correctly. However due to the shortage, the food took time to be served. Secondly at the till. The staff were very slow. A cover charge was automatically applied (no matter the group size - we were just 5), even though there was no notice this would be done. there was a notice that payment would be required as "cash only", apparently because the card machine didnt work - only it did, when we asked. To top it off, the till staff were unashamadley slow - blissfully unaware of the growing queue of customers. We wont be returning in a hurry.

We booked live cooking at our home. We had a number of dietary requirements and Mukeshbhai listened, took notes and made suggestions as well. The food was delicious, fresh and fully met our order and beyond. Hemaben and her team were very professional, friendly and polite. Communication from our first enquiry up until they left was faultless. Would not hesitate in calling them again and highly recommend to anyone looking for live catering. We and our guests can't praise them enough!

An tempting vegetarian selection. We only wanted a light meal, so ordered a paneer masala dosa (I remembered to take a picture after eating half of it... Oops), paneer pau bhaji, garlic naan and some plain yoghurt. All very good.

Absolutely shambles. Multi cuisine restaurant. Highly overpriced. I ordered thali thinking the chef could atleast serve thali. All 3 gravy curries. Chana was sour in taste, paneer was totally bland and lentils had high salt. Tacos were soggy. With chips you have to ask for dip or ketchup. Didn't bother asking at all. I wish I could could give something under 1 🌟
