Mings Chinese Takeaway in Wolverhampton

This place used to be amazing but it has slowly gone down hill. I rarely have takeouts and thought I’d treat myself. Just throwing it in the bin. Over cooked and tough sweet and sour, brown nasty tasting egg rice. Prawn toast was ok. Free prawn crackers. Waste of money

Remember Kings for being a top place for a Chinese meal. Was really disappointed. Duck extremely fatty. Rest of the meal was average.

Chef changed again food is awful as a chef I could cook better no spring rolls sep5 little things not worth the money

Best Chinese takeaway in the area. I have tried so many takeaways for Chinese since living in Wolverhampton and cannot find a decent one. Ordered from here yesterday and couldn’t fault a thing. We ordered 2 portions of sweet and sour chicken which was beautiful and fresh with that lovely crisp texture like it had just been put in the sauce rather that sat in it for hours. We had the crispy shredded chilli beef which is by far one of the tastiest I’ve had. The sauce was perfect and the beef was perfect and crispy, although couldn’t taste any chilli. We also had the salt and pepper chicken (due to not having the squid version in the menu which we usually opt for) again this was nice but could not taste any chilli. Chips and fried rices were as to be expected too. I will be using this place next time as I don’t feel there are any good Chinese’s in Wolverhampton

Great little place. Good food and good service. The vegan and vegetarian selection is great. Food is tastey too.

Used to love this place but too often now we have been disappointed with salty food that lacks flavour and is of a poor quality. Will not return.

Best Chinese takeaway I have had for some time ordered over phone ready at time requested piping hot would reccomend. We had the meal for two it could have been for three delicious with generous portions will definitely pay another visit soon

The food was great. Especially their special spring rolls.How succulent! It's full with a satay type sauce. But anyway the rest of the food is really nice chicken satay. Its rich in peanuts. But for the negative, the shape of the prawn toast was not like the traditional Chinese way of cutting them. You may be thinking what is so bad its prawn toast does it matter. But you may be shocked by this new information. They are not triangle but SQUARE! I might be pretty but this might change if they read this review. But overall the prawn toasts were nice.

As our local take away was shut by chestnut tree we decided to try mings had used before many years ago which was ok then Big mistake . Chicken curry and chips cant be that hard to cook can it well yes More onions than chicken . Curry sauce thick and glupy like syrup Chips just cooked How can anyone say it's best around Really Never would go back and I advise others to try else where Would look forward to management to comment on sub Standard food

Mings has a very varied menu for both meat eaters & vegetarians. the food is cooked to order and is very tasty. people travel from as far away as Bridgnorth to pick up food from Mings. I have been using this take away for years. I just wish they had a delivery service. The staff are very helpful & will alter things to suit requirements.

The worst Chinese I have ever had. The meat is disgusting rice like concrete and food very bland. If you enjoy Chinese food go elsewhere.

Just had a takeaway from Mings .set meal for two probably the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted.boiled chicken,boiled beef with mushrooms horrible boiled vegetables in horrible gravy.horible experience put me off Chinese food for ever.wouldnt recomend this takeaway to anyone not even my worst enemy.AB Wolverhampton

Absolutely love this takeaway, I visit every week, beef curry is amazing and when i ask for it extra hot that's what they do! Staff are lovely, best to ring your order through to order as they can get busy weekends.

Really fancied a Chinese takeaway rang Mings gave my order of extra hot spcecial curry fried rice and chips picked it up 15 minutes later it was really delicious good portions and good value highly recommend this takeaway

Only went here because my Favourite was closed.The portions were big but only because they were crammed with veg.Overall flavours were OK but lacked depth and the Meat elements were bland.Havnt been here since 2016 but although it hasnt got any worse it certainly hasnt improved either.Used to be one of the best when it first opened 20 years ago ? Wont be visiting again.I'll stick to my favourite for the future.

Thought we’d give this a try but never again! The so called fillet steak in black pepper sauce was actually slow cooked braised steak, rip off. The noodles were a mush, couldn’t eat them. Spare ribs were too fatty very little meat. Prawn crackers were nice, only positive thing I can find to say about this takeaway. Going back to our regular Chinese, House of Canton is far superior to this takeaway

Been getting takeaway from here for 20years always good and very tasty Pretty much as good as a Chinese takeaway can get

Friendly staff great food always on time chinese chips are ace sweet and sour sauce fabulous only shame they don't cook sweet and sour chicken the way they used too different chef but generally all fab

Chines Takeaway which is consistently good. Near Bantock Park. Good friendly quick service. Difficult to beat for a takeaway.

Great takeaway food. They never deliver. But it is by far worth the commute to get it. The pork chow mein is amazing fresh and tasty. A must visit.

Very tasty chicken and good service , noodles were a bit off but its nice, bad parking outside though so i would advise to park in the pub car park .

Te costaría solía ser un favorito habitual ser la mejor comida para llevar china en la zona. No he comido desde aquí por algún tiempo que esperaba el mismo alto nivel como había conocido previamente. Pedí un plato para dos y dos rollos de Pancake. Los rollos pancake tuvimos una abundante, pero estamos nadando en grasa y muy pasada en vez de fresco como deberían ser. La carne con verduras con una salsa era insípida, el pollo y insípido de hongos era el mismo. La única salvación era las bolas de pollo crujiente bien preparado con una buena salsa. Espero que esto sólo fue una mala noche, pero me voy a pensar dos veces sobre pedidos desde aquí. Tal pena dada su alta reputación anterior. Me preguntaba si ha cambiado de manos desde la última vez que pedimos.

Es sospechoso que todos los alimentos envasados en contenedores. Vemos un gran supermercado chino de camiones en la zona y estoy seguro de que llevar la comida a granel. Era mucho mejor cuando los propietarios anteriores. Las raciones son enormes, pero simplemente mushing! Puedo conseguir una comida china muy superior para 2 de Sainsbury's por alrededor de £9, bien tengo que cocinar, pero mucho mejor. Yo habría esperado langostinos y pollo en masa para ser crujientes, pero no, sólo de pasada.

Chicken tough,stir fried beef tough both tasted very bland. Cantonese style sweet and sour pork not bad but even that was slightly tough.Young cheow fried rice was nice but insufficient for two.Won't be rushing back. This takeaway as always been busy but not of late. Mmm.

Huge portions, rarely a long wait, great quality food with a load of taste. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Yummy the best of the best! Love the king prawn curry and egg fried rice! Can even ask to add chillies! Chips are ok too, only wish they did home delivery!

Very good Chinese, excellent portions and prices. There is a vast menu with great chef specials. We are repeat customers and great standards remain consistent. The only improvement would be a delivery service.

Another place we have been going to for many years. I'm not always a great fan of Chinese food, but this place never fails to disappoint. Superb!

This NEW take away restaurant will do very well once people discover how big the portions are per serving. They also use only fresh vegetables (no frozen here!) and the beef was excellent as were my king prawns-big and juicy. You can request no MSG.I am looking forward to my next take away from Mings and to try the lemon chicken - roll on Chinese New Year!Good luck Mings - please stay around - you're the best I've tried in the entire area!

Always get our Chinese from mings, food is always tasty, hot & fast & staff are nice as well. Have eaten in a few times as well & it's great. Not a bad word to say :)

We just love Ming's - it is always worth the little extra drive to get great food, the Singapore Mein is fabulous HOT just the way i like it ...

I normally don't borther to write a review, but this one I'm going to have my first review written. The food at Mings has changed recently. (I think there must be the ownership has changed) As you can see the new take away menu which is so much different as the majority of the common Chinese take away places, this is is outstanding different which will tell the taste of its boss?! As for the food aspect, maybe it does suit my taste, it is a lot better since their last owner. It doesn't taste lots of oily and salty like almost all the CN take away here, which probably set a "standards" of what it should be tasted!(like one of the comment here, which is ridiculous sounds to me) so Basicly when the food are more likely to be heathy and proper Chinese tasted then it is "not right"? ... You actually eating less fat and a lot healthier. Well, in the end this is my only opinion. In stead of going to a Chinese restaurant which charges loads, I prefer this little nice spot now. It may cost me some fuel as I'm not live very closeby, but it does worth it for the quality of the food and the price they charged.P.S. I had spent many years in China, different cities. If you prefer real Chinese food, instead of "western style" Chinese fast food, go for a try. I'm not disappointed, so won't be you.

Great food at Mings. Decent price and very tasty. Highly recommend to anyone in the area! Favourite is special pork curry and sweet and sour chicken!

Our usual take-away was closed, so her ladyship recommended Mings (as it used to be her favourite, back in the day) as an alternative and off I went. It's modern interior brightened by a flat screen TV and my face, by the searchlight at the counter.. dark glasses required!The menu looked very comprehensive and the "specials" sounded great, but the orders were Sweet & Sour Chicken (without batter) plus Egg Fried Rice and Sweet & Sour Pork (with batter) plus Chips, the food arrived in reasonable time and cost just under £15.The only criticism (aside from the difference between the consistency of both sauces) was the almost raw Onion and Pepper pieces, we're used to firm.. but this was just odd!?

Absolutely disgusting now totally devastated there sweet and sour chicken has gone from amazing to appalling changed the way they makeit. Lied about change of ownership chicken rubbery given it a few chances since been taken over every time ive been gutted my friends who have been regulars for years have also stopped going. Very disappointed.

I ordered some food over the phone but I had to wait for 45mins and it was well worth the wait. It was the best food I have ever had in the Wolverhampton area. Fantastic!

Me and my family have been eating from this take away for over twenty years. The food has not changed in quality over that time. I recommend the chicken Cantonese style and crispy shredded beef, but fillet fish Cantonese style and Three Sea flavours is also delicious. Vegetables and meat supremely served. You have to try it. Excellent.

Kings was slowly going down hill but now it's changed hands it's excellent, especially for the special dishes. The portions are huge also.(It's a takeaway so the restaurant ratings are not applicable)

The best Chinese take away in Wolverhampton. They always make sure our food us vegan and its so tasty and the vegetables are bursting out the contained!!

I've used Mings for years and always rated it. Recently its changed hands (despite them saying the owners are on holiday) and despite giving it a few chances since, the food has gone down hill. The prawn crackers being stale and tasting like washing liquid were the final straw. Will be staying away. Gutted as Barn Green is just as bad.

We don't eat out regularly but this takeaway is our first choice for Chinese takeaway.The chicken satay, sea salt and pepper ribs and the crispy beef are always a must for us.Orders have always been prompt hot and delicious.

Food is of a good standard, normally have crispy beef in Peking sauce. Always a massive portion. Not at all greasy. Free prawn crackers too. Collection time is no longer than half hour when busy, just wish they would deliver. Note. mings is closed Mondays. :)
