Mingo's Fish Bar in Epsom and Ewell

Never again the saveloy was like rubber and clearly reheated, and when I rang to complain told me to bring the saveloy back…. Ruined dinner

Lovely steak and kidney pudding and plenty of gravy. Kept a Northern boy happy. Will order again when in this part of the world.

Best fish and chip I ate to date and I live near 5 fish and chip shops. Best service as well

It says here it closes at 9PM. On the shop door says it closes at 10PM. But if you get there at 8.30PM they'll tell you it's closed and won't serve you!

Fish and chips the original fast food but not here always a long wait even on quiet trading times and on a friday evening forget it

Friendly service but sub-par fish and chips. The fish batter was rather soggy and not crisp at all and the OAP portions were very tiny for my parents! At least the regular chip portion was massive though. Maybe I visited on a bad day as other reviews seem to suggest otherwise!

Absolutely great local Fish and Chip shop, Great Prices, Great portion sizes, good quality food, lovely family run business. Highly recommend.

Just moved back to Epsom and decided to try Mingos as we used to get food here years ago. It’s changed hands since but we were really happy with the service and food.

never use this place again. bought a savaloy. was so hungry that didn’t notice a funny taste til half way through. 2 days off work with a very bad tummy 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Love their fish and chips. Mum has celiac, they have great unbattered fish for her, which means we can eat as a family!

Went to mingos heard it was good 1st time was very good had 2 large cod and chips went back again fish was soggy ask for large cod but definetly small ones worth another try they cook to order

Great people who run this place, would highly recommended to anyone. Their Katsu curry is one of the nicest out there.

Wanted to give them another chance after not using them for a year but our 3 meals have been awful . The absolute worst being a chicken burger which was completely disgusting , no salad at all , no mayonnaise and soggy , lukewarm , tasteless chips ! This was a revolting offering and I wouldn't give it to a dog to eat . Extremely annoyed and disappointed . What a waste of money . Will not try again !!

Great fish, pies, sausages, chips and the best curry sauce for miles, a really good selection of dishes - well worth a visit.

I have fish and chips from here quite frequently and it is very good. We did have to wait some time for the food to be cooked but that was expected. I definitely would come back again. Had great prices.

Nice freshly prepared fish but you will need to wait 15-20 minutes for it to cook.

This is exactly what it says on the tin and you won’t be disappointed with the food. I do not know of a better chip shop in Epsom.

Good fish and chips. If cooked to order particularly nice, best to go Friday pm and Sat pm as there is a good turnover of orders so more likely to be just fried.

Proving once again that there is always an asian who can do it better, Mingos fish bar does the great British staple fish and chips excellently. The large cod with chips that I had was delicious. They also do chicken and burgers which I will probably trying on future visits. It's reasonably priced and offers dine in as well as takeaway.

My husband and I love our fish, we’ve visited many fish and chip shops around the country over the years. Quite a few of these have been down on the south coastal areas. We’ve visited Mingo’s fish bar many times, and find their fish to be one of the very best around the Surrey area.

Friendly staff, quick service, the food is good and not too greasy. They're happy to specially fry the fish without batter if looking for a lighter eat. Well priced, and can pay with card.

This is simply great fish and chips, freshly cooked while you wait if you don't phone your order through, generous portions and has never been less than excellent.

I often go here for my evening fish and chips. The fish is always cooked while I wait and the chip portions likewise - the size of both servings is definitely on the generous side!
