This place absolutely demolished the art of Chinese food and the beautiful culture that goes with this. Thoroughly disappointed and should be ashamed.

Haven't used Ming Wai in quite a long time as don't have takeaways that often, especially with the impact of Covid, and on the occasions we have had a Chinese we have favoured Lotus House of late. Sadly Lotus House have stopped delivering to us, which we only found out when we phoned up to order tonight, and not wanting to go out there and try to park when it would no doubt be heaving, we decided to get a delivery from Ming Wai instead. The delivery was about ten minutes later than we were advised, but due to our village location we're quite used to that, so for a Saturday night that wasn't bad at all. The delivery driver was friendly and mindful of Covid safety. The first thing we had was crispy aromatic duck, which I have to say was fantastic. The skin was very crispy, the meat was juicy and tender and it came as one whole portion for us to shred ourselves, meaning it had stayed nice and hot and we could have some nice big chunks of meat. There were not quite as many pancakes as we were hoping, but not the end of the world, just meant we had some duck left to dip in the hoi sin sauce. Next was prawn toasts. This was where it started to go very wrong. Unfortunately they had been packaged in a plastic tub with no air holes, always a mistake with anything intended to be eaten crispy. We had put them on a plate on a low heat in the oven to keep warm while we ate our duck, in the hope it would crisp them back up again as they were very soggy by the time they had arrived. When we came to eat them, they were not soggy with water, but instead with grease - clearly the frying oil had not been heated sufficiently before they were put in. The prawn mixture inside was very tough and not very flavourful. We ended up throwing most of them away, a shame as we are very against food waste and so rarely put any food in the bin. Finally, we had sweet and sour king prawn balls and egg fried rice. Again, the prawn balls were extremely greasy - if we squeezed the batter very lightly in our fingers, they became absolutely covered in oil to the point that it was dripping off! We are not exactly low fat or health conscious, being fans of full fat milk, proper butter and frying in lard, but this was downright unpleasant to eat. We both chose to remove the batter from the prawns and just dip them in the sauce, which was nice but not really worth the money we paid. The 'egg fried rice' didn't seem to have been fried at all, from what we could tell it was just boiled rice with some chopped up omelette mixed in. Overall we were very disappointed and will not be ordering again. Sadly, we only found out after eating our meal that Victor Chan now deliver to our area, so if and when we decide to get another Chinese we will probably order from them, or just collect from Lotus House.

As a treat for my daughters I ordered a Chinese take a way from this local establishment as it isn't far from the house. When I placed the order I corrected the person on the end of the phone 3 times as to one of the dishes I wanted. When I got the order home, it was the wrong one. I called the shop to complain I was asked by the person on the end of the phone what would make me happy. I request a refund or replacement and was told I had to take the food back to the shop for a refund! That did not make me happy!! When I did and received a replacement there was no apology and just a lot of blank faces. The replacement food was bland and tasteless. I will certainly not be returning!

We had a takeaway from here a month ago it was amazing! Just how it's always been and then last weekend we had one it was disgusting. The chow mein had 3 bits of pork in it and chunks of raw onion, the chicken balls were flat and greasy, crispy beef watery salty and not spicy at all.

I have used this takeaway for many years now, however my meal on Saturday was disgusting. Chicken and cashews is normally pretty standard anywhere but this consisted of slimy chicken a few carrots peas and water chestnuts obviously from a frozen pack and tasteless sauce, the only things which tasted ok was the rice and the cashews, something has changed at this establishment and I won’t be returning

Excellent tasting take away food that does not take too long to prepare/wait, definitely the better of the Chinese take away's in St Neots. I have been a customer of the Ming Wai for a number of years and can only say the food has improved over time from when the current owners purchased the business. I have tried nearly all the other Chinese take away's in town and in my opinion the Ming Wai is the best overall. My only criticism or negative would be one or two of the dishes are a little on the small side when compared to other Chinese's and also the previous owners portion sizes. All in all a great take away!

We had only had a meal from here a few days previous and it was really nice. Didn't want to go out so popped in on way home from work. I am trying to eat a healthy diet so had Beef in Garlic and Black Bean sauce on the previous visit and it was lovely. So, I decided to have exactly the same again. It was totally tasteless. No spiciness, no heat, no taste of garlic. A really disappointing meal. It's only previous good meals that have stopped this being a lower rating. So inconsistent. Whoever was cooking this evening (30th June) got it totally wrong.

I stopped going to this place for a takeaway quite a few years ago because the quality of the food went massively downhill. My parent very occasionally re-visited the Chinese for a takeaway whenever family from London came up to visit. But ...... very recently we had one of those " I've had a hard day and I cant be bothered to cook " days, so we decided that we would order a Chinese takeaway, my parent also had the same idea so we went to their house for an impromptu takeaway night. My mum suggested the Ming Wai because none of us had eaten their for a while and I was very very surprised - I dont know if they have been recently taken over / under new management OR even if they have got another chef but the food was very nice. We had chow mein, chicken balls, ribs, egg fried rice plus a few other bits and pieces. The price was also very decent as well - If i had reviewed this place a few years ago it would have got only 1 star, now this had shot up in my estimations - one very happy customer. On the ratings it is very difficult to rate the atmosphere, families with children etc because this is only a takeaway place. But overall the things that matter from a takeaway i.e. Food and Value i gave 5 out of 5. Well done

I was really looking forward to having this take away as Ive been here many times previously and always knew it would be good. However, Im sure it must of changed hands as this was totally different and sorry to say not very nice. Totally different ingredients and sauces used, different packaging (which was ok as reusable) and prices were still above average, which before I did not mind paying as you get what you pay for but was dissapointed this time and will be looking elsewhere from now on.

It's been years since we ordered a takeaway from here as we had found it all very greasy and unpalatable the last few times. It just shows it's worth re-visitng a place though as a family member did not know our previous bad history and thoughts and ordered a takeaway-it was very nice, there was no greasy film over everything, it was very tasty and we have since had a few more and it's been great each time. They apparently had changed owners since we last tried them. Very pleasantly surprised.

Basic takeaway. Really good food and affordable too, though they have a few uninspiring and frankly bad recipes. But to each their own, someone must be buying it. Quality to price it's best Chinese in Huntingdon currently . I always make it a point to pop in when I'm there. Payment is usually cash only

Food was very tasty, especially the salt and pepper items, the majority of people’s poor reviews seem due to delivery issues, we collected our food and everything was piping hot and fresh. Will come back for sure.

The food here is absolutely fantastic—something the whole family enjoys time and time again. The kids love it, and so do we! It’s become our go-to choice for those nights when we can’t be bothered to cook, and it always hits the spot. The menu offers a great selection of dishes, all freshly prepared and full of flavor. Whether you’re in the mood for crispy spring rolls, perfectly cooked noodles, or a rich and flavorful curry, there’s something for everyone. The portions are generous too, which is always a bonus when you’re feeding a family or looking for leftovers the next day. The only downside is that they don’t offer delivery, but honestly, it’s worth making the trip. The restaurant is always full, which says everything about the quality of the food—they’re clearly doing something right! It’s one of those places where you know you’re getting great food every time, and the bustling atmosphere just adds to the charm. If you’re looking for a reliable, delicious Chinese meal that the whole family will enjoy, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend! 🥰 Please Note, you can only pay using cash. There is a free to use cash machine round the corner near the spar Thankyou
