Min Jiang in Kensington and Chelsea

I had dinner at Min Jiang tonight and found a bug in my drink. When I informed the server, they told me that because I had already drunk part of it, they couldn’t issue a refund and could only remake the drink. Although drinking something with a bug in it was certainly not what I wanted,I reluctantly accepted their solution. However, when the replacement drink arrived, it was only half a glass. For a restaurant where two people spent £200, this is absolutely unacceptable. Serving a drink with a bug is bad enough, but offering half a glass as a solution is beyond disgraceful. I would not recommend this place. It was disgusting enough to drink bugs, but the compensation was to make me a half cup again. I don't want to say that I kept urging people to leave before they finished eating. What kind of service attitude is this? The pattern of half a cup of drinks is not per capita. It can be done by 100+ restaurants. Anyway, the duck is not delicious and I will definitely not eat it again.

Cost is little bit pricy but fantastic foods and atmosphere. Recommended peking duck.

I always try to look for good restaurants and this place was really great. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Unfortunately it was dark to enjoy the view but I’ll try to go there for lunch next time I highly recommend it.

Spectacular food, atmosphere and view over Kensington Gardens! The place had a lovely intimate setting and the service was also very accommodating. The food was also presented and served brilliantly, as well as with high quality and authenticity. I highly recommend their roast duck, it was delicious and flavourful. I have already come back a few times with friends and family, I will be bound to come back soon!

If you're fortunate enough to be able to afford regular visits, then you might well never try anywhere else. For the rest of us, choose the tenth floor restaurant of the Royal Garden Hotel, where you'll find the wonderful Min Jiang, together with a remarkable view of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Ask for a window table, expect inscrutable service, but with a friendly touch, and select the signature Beijing Duck for a truly special experience - brought to table and carved delicately while you watch. Treat a loved one to something unforgettable.

Delicious food, attentive and polite staff. it’s on the pricey side but given the location, view, food and service, it feels like moneywell spent.

A lovely place with incredible food and an even more stunning view. I had the roasted Peking duck, which was delicious, but the real highlight was the panoramic view of Hyde Park and its lush greenery. Being able to enjoy the scenery from above truly made my day. Walking around Hyde Park is always a pleasure, but seeing it from this vantage point was a unique experience. I’d love to return here the next time I’m in town

What a fantastic place! From walking through the door through to leaving we felt this is a very special place. The views are amazing and the food was outstanding. The signature duck was a highlight and the dim sum superb. We will definitely be back.

Had a horrible experience here last Friday. I booked Min Jiang for my friends 40th Birthday. We were a party of 8. I've always enjoyed the food here but the service was appalling and they ruined my friend's 40th Birthday cake that I brought in. Can you imagine these people used their hands to remove the cake decor and brought out a plain cake for my friend to cut!! I was in shock. Like why on earth would you remove something from someone's cake! I paid a lot of money for this cake. I received no decent apology. I have included pictures of the cake I gave to them and what they brought out for my friend to cut. I complained and the waiter brought out the crumpled cake decor..and my brain told me to not let them put it on the cake because I realised they probably brought it out from the trash 🤢 and were attempting to give it back to me to put back on the cake! Other issues were that they would serve food without telling us how to eat it e.g. the whole duck We had pre -ordered. Plus they kept trying to hurry us away even though our dinner was at 8:30pm and we were the last to be booked at our table . We spent a lot of money at the restaurant and left extremely disappointed.

The reason I marked down the service is because within a minute of sitting down at our table with us and two children, who were excited about the view but not unreasonably loud, we were approached by the hostess to say she had received a complaint about our children's "noise". We also asked if we wanted to move to one of the tables inside. This is highly unacceptable and anti-family Firstly, it is a restaurant, not a library. Secondly, I feel the hostess could have been more understanding and not so quick to immediately take the side of the complainers. Why were their wishes more important than ours. Lastly, I would ask that they check the respective spend of our table vs the complainers to see whether this may have made a difference. Extremely disappointed given we have been coming here for years!!!

Have been there many times in the last fifteen years. Never had any disappointment. Food is always excellent. My favourite Chinese restaurant among all others in London.

If it’s your first time at this restaurant, you must pre-order the Peking duck. This is the house speciality and is served with skill and affection and tastes delicious. The views are sensational over Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. Service professional and friendly and the cocktails were delicious beforehand. in addition to the duck, we ordered starters. The Xiao Long Bao were very tasty and the crispy tofu melted in the mouth. We finished with desserts. A five spice pudding for me and panna cotta with lychees for my wife. The bill came to £170 so an expensive meal without wine but worth every penny.

Having lived in China, my standards for dim sum are quite high. I was travelling to London for a few days and I was looking for a place to have my fiance try xiao long bao and dim sum (we're French and it's almost impossible to find good dim sum in Paris so I always wait to go back to China or to London to have good dim and well executed xiao long bao.) I read the reviews about Min Jiang and thought Min Jiang could be the rare gem I was looking for (a decade ago, I used to go to Hutong to eat dim sum in London, but the quality has decreased unfortunately. Too bad their xiao long bao used to be as good as Shanghai's Nan Jin Xi Lu Din Tai Fung's from the 2000s - not Din Tai Fung today). Both my fiance and I were extremely pleased with our experience at Min Jiang, not only was the service very polite, kind and attentive but it's one of the best dim sum experience I've had in a really long time... We ordered several steam dumplings and not only did they look good, they tasted even better. The dough had the perfect consistency for each dumpling, beautifully thin but strong enough to hold the fillings. The fillings were so well executed, the meat in the classic pork xiao long bao was quite thin in texture, the soup was delicious, no overpowering taste of ginger, the crab and pork xiao long bao had less soup (because of the consistency of crab meat I suppose) but it was a lovely take on the dumpling and we strongly recommend you try both. We also recommend all the other meat or seafood steamed dumplings (except the Cha Siu Bao, the only disappointment of our lunch), have the prawn dumpling in chili oil, a dreamy explosion of flavours in the mouth... Definitely order the Yangzhou egg fried rice, if you haven't had delicious authentic egg fried rice in a while, you will be over the moon. Last but not least, bless your tastebuds with the scallop with ginger and sprinkles onion... You will never forget the experience. Thank you Min Jiang for this dream of a lunch...

We took a whole duck, cut off 20% of its meat and took everything else away. I don't understand how the logic works, but if we had taken half a duck, there would still have been half left... disappointment.

Went for an unplanned lunch here while staying in Kensington and we couldn't have been happier. Excellent service, an outstanding view over London and phenomenal food (+wine list). We skipped the duck as we were time constrained but everything we ordered was perfectly executed. The dim sum were some of the best we have ever tasted, of particular note was the Iberico pork dish. Looking forward to a return trip already!

Walking into Min Jiang I immediately felt inspired and lucky to be there. The view is stunning and I definitely recommend going before it’s too dark outside to really get the best view. The service was really attentive and welcoming, it felt like a special occasion. All of the tables have a great view and atmosphere and the drinks and food were brought out at a good pace so we were never waiting for anything. Onto the food - we ordered dim sum, prawn toast, half duck with fried rice and sirloin ho fun. Everything was prepared really well, no complaints. The duck was the best I’ve had and went so well with the sauces, vegetables and pancakes. The crispy duck skin with sugar was also itself a memorable and delicious bite. The fried rice was really good, the perfect texture. The beef noodles were great too! The beef was very tender and the noodles soft and chewy.

Outstanding setting and good quality food. London is inundated with all shades and qualities of Chinese restaurants - this one holds its own in a very crowded space. Reasonably priced for the size of portions. Good enough duck, and excellent beef

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Min Jiang restaurant and trying their amazing Peking duck. The presentation was impeccable, and the taste was even better. The skin was perfectly crispy, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The dish was served with thin pancakes, spring onions, and hoisin sauce, which complemented the duck beautifully. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience. I highly recommend trying the Peking duck at Min Jiang for anyone who appreciates delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine.

We were pretty disappointed having heard such great things about the peking duck. The first serving came out nice, and thought it was exciting to see a decent sized bird. However they take the duck away and allegedly use the remaining in your second serving, which you can see in our photos you don’t get the full amount of the remaining meat. We chose duck fried rice and there was not even one slice of duck (see photos). I would’ve expected meat to cover a whole thigh, a wing and other bits around the carcass. Feeling quite scammed, we asked the waiter if we can take the remaining half bird but wasn’t allowed. Only having to speak to the manager they offered two thighs, which you’ll see in photos has heaps of meat that would have been taken away (and probably still more were missing). I wouldn’t say the quality is that much apart from anyone else’s. If you’re thinking of coming here, I do not recommend getting the fried rice second serving, as other’s photos of soup actually show pieces of meat or if you want better value of peking duck go to Mama Li’s that’s much juicier. I have given two stars as the only thing that was lovely was the view and the rest of the dishes were tasty but this experience has put us off and dampened what was our anniversary meal. People are too rich to care or too dumb to realise that this is awful value and completely dishonest service.

The place is pleasant with a nice view above Hyde Park. The service is very dedicated and agreeable. The food is delicious. We came several times. However, at our last dinner, the dessert “Sago mango” for which I had an amazing souvenir was tasteless with no texture either. You could barely tasted the mango and there was barely tapioca in it :( (Need to come back as it was !) Oh and I forget, the egg fried rice with vegetables we opted for our children only had cucumber it ! That was quite disappointing. (Need to be improved !) Overall a very nice place to eat !

Delicious food. Good service. Lively atmosphere. Don't order too much as its more filling than it looks. The restaurant made the food extra spicy at our request. No complaints other than the £5.50 charge for still water.

Very mediocre peking duck by fine dining standards. The duck soup is nice though. Anw, you pay for the view and atmosphere.

The view and service are worth paying for. Peking duck dare I say Imperial Treasure still compares head and shoulders in the world of Chinese fine dining - though the second serving in soup was very decent.

A wonderful experience, once you’ve been here, you’ll never want to go to a typical Chinese High Street restaurant again ! The food was sublime, as was the service. The star of the show, was of course the Beijing Duck, although the spare ribs and Scallop ran fairly close. One most mention the incredible views across the park and of course, the wonderful service. I can’t wait to go again

Perfect day to relieve some memories in MinJiang. Lovey view of Hyde Park and service was great. Food quality have certainly diminished slightly and portions have gone rather small perhaps to cater a different crowd and palette.

After being disappointed by my once go-to dim sum places in London, I was so glad to once more discover a place where every bite is more amazing than the last. The restaurant itself is a very pleasant place to be in with amazing views of Hyde Park and London that are worth visiting for alone. The staff was very professional and friendly. But what stands out the most, and what is by far most important for me is the food. We didn't try the specialty duck this time as we were there for dim sum, but we saw it being served and the look and smell was outstanding. Every single dim sum we tried had delicate flavours, there was a lot of variety and the Char Siu (which we had as filling in three different dim sums) is the best I remember. The Cheung Fun was insane, and several other dim sums I could have had 6 more... It's slightly pricier than some others, but nothing unreasonable, and taking into account the location, level of service and food quality, it's actually very reasonable. Can't wait to return...

We have been to Min Jiang several times but last night was absolutely the best time ever. The dim sum was particularly delicious - so delicate. We enjoyed every moment we were there. The staff were wonderful.

Definitely not the best Then the left over carcass and untouched drumstick had still a quite a bit of meat left But we could hardly see any meat in the second noodle dish ..we ordered noodles. Wondering where did they disappear to? B. The tofu hotpot ...the dark mushrooms and the dry tofu were quite tough and chewy .they had not been cooked thoroughly and salty sauce. C. The iberico pork was dry..chewy and too sweet D. The prawn in pork floss was not bad. E. Veg in garlic was ok F. The cocktails were not up to any bar standard....can hardly taste any spirits in it G. Not many choices in dessert menu Hence 3*

Disappointed. Overpriced. Beautiful view, but that did not make up for the overpriced food. The food was nice, but we’ve had way better for way cheaper. Staff were lovely, but a couple of tables along from us had 3 children who constantly ran up and down the restaurant past our table and completely ruined our special anniversary dinner. Booked this in advance as we came from Scotland for a 2 night special trip. Almost £300 to feel utterly let down.

This restaurant has the best view of Kensington gardens and you can see all the sights of London! The food was very authentic and so well done! They had a vegetarian option for the Peking duck and a vego chicken which was absolutely delicious. The dim sum, veggies, fish and lobster were also very good. Can’t wait to go back!

A great lunch in a beautiful dining room - fabulous food and a stunning view of London over Hyde Park

This is noted for being the top Chinese restaurant in London and rightly so. Before the food however comes the view. Set atop the Royal Garden Hotel you can see all of London from Kensington Palace and Hyde Park to the far distance. It is spectacular. Now to the food. The main event is the Peking Duck which is carved expertly in front of you. The product of three specialist duck chefs it is fabulous. The rest of the a la carte menu is superb too. And finally the staff and service are impeccable, restrained classy and attentive.

The view is obviously amazing - and the food? I was skeptical as such a place does not need great food to be popular and the interior is not impressive for a new-ish place. The red paint when you enter looks a bit cheap, the floor too, and the table decoration is not special either. I was wrong. The food is spectacular and the Peking Duck was the best one I had in London (yes - it beats the obvious Mayfair places). You have to pre-order it and I urge you to do so. It is the highlight but the other dishes I tried were also quite tasty. Try the dim sum and soft shell crab starter. We paid £110 per person with 2 glasses of wine; £80 without the wine. The half duck was £50 and is great value. Oh and did I mention the view?

Wow us Brit’s love a chinese but this is not ya local Chinese it is clean eating Chinese food you actually feel good after eating! I loved it and would definitely go back. The service is 5 star and so is the food.
