Chinese restaurant in London Suitable for Chinese food lovers

I’ve been here a couple of times and have gone away with satisfaction. The quality of food is excellent (the £££ is justified). I would recommend the roast duck to any meat eaters. I’d happily dine here any day.

I always try to look for good restaurants and this place was really great. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Unfortunately it was dark to enjoy the view but I’ll try to go there for lunch next time I highly recommend it.

We’ve been to Minjiang a few times. It’s a bit difficult to park nearby (the hotel’s park is a pretty tough driving test), but we still wanted to go back. Unfortunately today is probably the last time. What is good? The view is stunning. You get an unblocked view of Hyde park. A few dishes I highly recommend: turnip cake, Ying Yang fried rice. The dim sum was alright, but good value for money. What went wrong today? The overall feeling was not welcoming and we felt like being ignored most of the time. Perhaps due to the holiday season, the restaurant feels understaffed even though a third of the tables are empty. The receptionist decided it was more important to give back the coat to the guest behind us (even though the guest suggested she should serve us first; she was determined nonetheless) than leading us to our table. Then we were kindly seated in the corner, when there were other tables empty. The first dish came about 20 minutes after order, while the main took nearly an hour, and it was the wrong dish. Most of the dishes were lukewarm. This wasn’t the case for our previous visits. We asked for takeaway for two of the dishes, and the waiter, without asking, decided it was more important to save a takeaway box and combined the two dishes into one (it might be good though not appreciated). When we asked for the bill, we had to wait for the staff to bring the card machine for another 10 min while (perhaps) the manager diligently fold napkins for the table next to us. I’m not entirely sure what changed. Maybe we didn’t order enough? Maybe we had only two people instead of 10? Maybe they had a really tough day? It’s a pretty unimpressive experience. The food was alright but I don’t believe anyone should be treated, or more precisely, neglected like us.

The best peking duck I’ve had in London! Took my partner here for her birthday and we both loved it. The restaurant is on the tenth floor of the royal garden hotel giving a great view of London. The service is really good and accommodating too. The food was amazing. We ordered the whole peking duck, it was super tender and juicy. Highly recommend getting it with noodles as the second dish (which uses the duck scraps). You can really taste the wok hei in a lot of the dishes which really makes a different adding a very nice smokey flavour. The sir loin beef was also great. Highly recommend!

Johnny, one of the servers was fantastic! His attention to detail is a 5 ⭐ on its own. Johnny's friendliness was comforting and warming but not intruding. He kindly recommended dishes he thinks we'd enjoy and boy did we! As for the dishes, they're probably on the expensive side. They're not unworthy especially the Peking Duck but at the same time, I have probably had better or the equivalent quality dishes for less. The lobster is priced at £92 and I can tell you it's some of the freshest I've had. The meat was so juicy and the cooking did it justice. Is it worthy of £92 however I'll leave you to judge.

Noisy. Food came in a rush because restaurant had two sittings. We were rushed off after 1.5 hours. Food was heavily salted and floured. Overall disappointing for a restaurant of this stature.

What a birthday celebration spot!!! Thank you Min Jiang. The service was impeccable and we really appreciated the attention during the reservation process. Thank you Robin and Kay and the entire team for helping make the evening memorable.

Beautiful restaurant especially at lunchtime when you can also admire the park. We should probably have stuck to the very inviting à la carte menu rather than pre-ordering the half Peking duck. Still, the duck was good. I also had a hot and sour soup: yummy. Service was perfect except for the coat check staff who seemed to be distracted and failed to return my hat to me, necessitating a trip back up the lift to retrieve it: he was entirely unapologetic.

The food was above average but does not justify the price. Peking duck was the best dish we had followed by prawn in salted egg yolk and fried kailan. Didn’t think the tofu with crab meat was any good. Service was most disappointing. When asked if the table was for four pax, I said yes but then it turned out to be five pax. The waitress gave me an unhappy face, almost a scold. Not expected in a restaurant in a five star hotel. The restaurant faces Kensington park. Beautiful view.

Dim sum is still excellent but the evening menu is now less recommended. The first serving of duck with pancakes was good but the second on lettuce was quite a bit too salty and I would be surprised if overall we were given half a duck as we were supposed to be. The prices of some of the starters are extraordinary bad value. A solitary king scallop for £15? That’s a mark up of about 7-8x. Dessert was bland (their excellent custard tarts are of course only available at lunch)

The staffs were relatively rushing a lot this time by keep trying to take unfinished dishes away. Food was decent as always, but compare to our last visit, duck was less crispy and pancakes were stuck on each other.

We had 2 people in our party with an egg allergy. I put this information in when I made the booking. Our server gave us incorrect information about the safety of our order telling us she spoke with the head chef and everything we ordered was egg free and she was certain. She then came back and said everything did contain egg due to the “chicken powder” used. This did not instill any confidence in us. My kids had to order food to be delivered to our home after we got back from dinner. I would not return and would definitely not send anyone to this restaurant with food allergies.

Another excellent dinner at this splendid establishment. Their signature duck is the best peking duck we've had in London. We were a table of 4 and easily demolished a whole duck between us. Very grateful to the staff who allowed us to exceed our alloted 2 hrs dinner time as one of our guests was late.

We loved the Peking Duck. The string beans and Tofu with Morels were great. The Sea Bass with numbing spice was delicious and had great texture. The servers were fast and the view to the city was beautiful. The only downside was that the restaurant was very loud and it was hard to hear.

For my 40th birthday my DH took us to Minjiang again. Food was amazing as I remembered several years ago. Loved the Peking duck and this time we also discovered another super delicious dish - roasted rack of spiced lamb with cumin (highly recommend!)

I had dinner at Min Jiang tonight and found a bug in my drink. When I informed the server, they told me that because I had already drunk part of it, they couldn’t issue a refund and could only remake the drink. Although drinking something with a bug in it was certainly not what I wanted,I reluctantly accepted their solution. However, when the replacement drink arrived, it was only half a glass. For a restaurant where two people spent £200, this is absolutely unacceptable. Serving a drink with a bug is bad enough, but offering half a glass as a solution is beyond disgraceful. I would not recommend this place. It was disgusting enough to drink bugs, but the compensation was to make me a half cup again. I don't want to say that I kept urging people to leave before they finished eating. What kind of service attitude is this? The pattern of half a cup of drinks is not per capita. It can be done by 100+ restaurants. Anyway, the duck is not delicious and I will definitely not eat it again.

Delicious as always. Only reason for dropping one star is that our second serving was very late coming to table. I had to chase for it but at least staff were honest in telling us that the delay was due to there being a large party at one of the tables. However, as a general rule, I do feel that this should not be allowed to negatively impact on the dining experience of, for example, a couple - especially since we are all being charged the same price and all looking for a similarly positive experience.

Our waitress was excellent, However, we sent a beef dish back because the beef pieces were so tough and grisly, they were inedible. Yes, they took it off the bill, but we felt the Manager in charge should have had the courtesy to come and apologise personally as most quality restaurants do. It was not busy. We live in Kensington and have been regulars in the past. We will not be returning.

I have been going to Min Jiang for about 20 years and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, the service very professional. A meal at Min Jiang is always festive and special.

The food was also presented and served brilliantly, as well as with high quality and authenticity. I highly recommend their roast duck, it was delicious and flavourful. Me he alojado muchas veces en el Royal Garden Hotel, pero nunca tuve el placer de cenar en su restaurante insignia, minuto Jiang antes. Ask for a window table, expect inscrutable service, but with a friendly touch, and select the signature Beijing Duck for a truly special experience - brought to table and carved delicately while you watch. Treat a loved one to something unforgettable.

A lovely place with incredible food and an even more stunning view. I had the roasted Peking duck, which was delicious, but the real highlight was the panoramic view of Hyde Park and its lush greenery. Being able to enjoy the scenery from above truly made my day. Walking around Hyde Park is always a pleasure, but seeing it from this vantage point was a unique experience. I’d love to return here the next time I’m in town

Tuve una experiencia horrible aquí el viernes pasado. Reservé el minuto Jiang para mis amigos 40 cumpleaños. Éramos un grupo de 8. Siempre he disfrutado de la comida aquí, pero el servicio fue terrible y arruinaron el pastel de cumpleaños 40 de mi amigo que traje. ¡¿Te imaginas que estas personas usaran sus manos para quitar la decoración del pastel y sacaran un pastel para que mi amigo lo cortara? Estaba en shock. ¿Por qué diablos quitarías algo de la tarta de alguien? Pagué mucho dinero por este pastel. No recibí disculpas decentes. He incluido fotos del pastel que les di y lo que sacaron para que mi amiga lo cortara. Me quejé y el camarero sacó la decoración arrugada de la torta... y mi cerebro me dijo que no les dejara ponerla en la torta porque me di cuenta de que probablemente la sacaron de la basura 🤢 e intentaban devolvérmela para ponerla de nuevo en la torta! The reason I marked down the service is because within a minute of sitting down at our table with us and two children, who were excited about the view but not unreasonably loud, we were approached by the hostess to say she had received a complaint about our children's "noise". We also asked if we wanted to move to one of the tables inside. This is highly unacceptable and anti-family Firstly, it is a restaurant, not a library. Secondly, I feel the hostess could have been more understanding and not so quick to immediately take the side of the complainers. Why were their wishes more important than ours. Lastly, I would ask that they check the respective spend of our table vs the complainers to see whether this may have made a difference. Extremely disappointed given we have been coming here for years!!!

Having lived in China, my standards for dim sum are quite high. I was travelling to London for a few days and I was looking for a place to have my fiance try xiao long bao and dim sum (we're French and it's almost impossible to find good dim sum in Paris so I always wait to go back to China or to London to have good dim and well executed xiao long bao.) I read the reviews about Min Jiang and thought Min Jiang could be the rare gem I was looking for (a decade ago, I used to go to Hutong to eat dim sum in London, but the quality has decreased unfortunately. Too bad their xiao long bao used to be as good as Shanghai's Nan Jin Xi Lu Din Tai Fung's from the 2000s - not Din Tai Fung today). Both my fiance and I were extremely pleased with our experience at Min Jiang, not only was the service very polite, kind and attentive but it's one of the best dim sum experience I've had in a really long time... We ordered several steam dumplings and not only did they look good, they tasted even better. The dough had the perfect consistency for each dumpling, beautifully thin but strong enough to hold the fillings. The fillings were so well executed, the meat in the classic pork xiao long bao was quite thin in texture, the soup was delicious, no overpowering taste of ginger, the crab and pork xiao long bao had less soup (because of the consistency of crab meat I suppose) but it was a lovely take on the dumpling and we strongly recommend you try both. We also recommend all the other meat or seafood steamed dumplings (except the Cha Siu Bao, the only disappointment of our lunch), have the prawn dumpling in chili oil, a dreamy explosion of flavours in the mouth... Definitely order the Yangzhou egg fried rice, if you haven't had delicious authentic egg fried rice in a while, you will be over the moon. Last but not least, bless your tastebuds with the scallop with ginger and sprinkles onion... You will never forget the experience. Thank you Min Jiang for this dream of a lunch...

We took a whole duck, cut off 20% of its meat and took everything else away. I don't understand how the logic works, but if we had taken half a duck, there would still have been half left... disappointment.

Went for an unplanned lunch here while staying in Kensington and we couldn't have been happier. Excellent service, an outstanding view over London and phenomenal food (+wine list). We skipped the duck as we were time constrained but everything we ordered was perfectly executed. The dim sum were some of the best we have ever tasted, of particular note was the Iberico pork dish. Looking forward to a return trip already!

Walking into Min Jiang I immediately felt inspired and lucky to be there. The view is stunning and I definitely recommend going before it’s too dark outside to really get the best view. The service was really attentive and welcoming, it felt like a special occasion. All of the tables have a great view and atmosphere and the drinks and food were brought out at a good pace so we were never waiting for anything. Onto the food - we ordered dim sum, prawn toast, half duck with fried rice and sirloin ho fun. Everything was prepared really well, no complaints. The duck was the best I’ve had and went so well with the sauces, vegetables and pancakes. The crispy duck skin with sugar was also itself a memorable and delicious bite. The fried rice was really good, the perfect texture. The beef noodles were great too! The beef was very tender and the noodles soft and chewy.

Make sure to order the Beijing Duck! It is fantastic.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Min Jiang restaurant and trying their amazing Peking duck. The presentation was impeccable, and the taste was even better. The skin was perfectly crispy, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The dish was served with thin pancakes, spring onions, and hoisin sauce, which complemented the duck beautifully. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience. I highly recommend trying the Peking duck at Min Jiang for anyone who appreciates delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine.

We were pretty disappointed having heard such great things about the peking duck. The first serving came out nice, and thought it was exciting to see a decent sized bird. However they take the duck away and allegedly use the remaining in your second serving, which you can see in our photos you don’t get the full amount of the remaining meat. We chose duck fried rice and there was not even one slice of duck (see photos). I would’ve expected meat to cover a whole thigh, a wing and other bits around the carcass. Feeling quite scammed, we asked the waiter if we can take the remaining half bird but wasn’t allowed. Only having to speak to the manager they offered two thighs, which you’ll see in photos has heaps of meat that would have been taken away (and probably still more were missing). I wouldn’t say the quality is that much apart from anyone else’s. If you’re thinking of coming here, I do not recommend getting the fried rice second serving, as other’s photos of soup actually show pieces of meat or if you want better value of peking duck go to Mama Li’s that’s much juicier. I have given two stars as the only thing that was lovely was the view and the rest of the dishes were tasty but this experience has put us off and dampened what was our anniversary meal. People are too rich to care or too dumb to realise that this is awful value and completely dishonest service.

The place is pleasant with a nice view above Hyde Park. The service is very dedicated and agreeable. The food is delicious. We came several times. However, at our last dinner, the dessert “Sago mango” for which I had an amazing souvenir was tasteless with no texture either. You could barely tasted the mango and there was barely tapioca in it :( (Need to come back as it was !) Oh and I forget, the egg fried rice with vegetables we opted for our children only had cucumber it ! That was quite disappointing. (Need to be improved !) Overall a very nice place to eat !

Delicious food. Good service. Lively atmosphere. Don't order too much as its more filling than it looks. The restaurant made the food extra spicy at our request. No complaints other than the £5.50 charge for still water.

The view and service are worth paying for. Peking duck dare I say Imperial Treasure still compares head and shoulders in the world of Chinese fine dining - though the second serving in soup was very decent.
