Very nice, perfectly crispy bacon in a big fresh roll. Good coffee too.

My daughter ordered a Gluten Free cake for my birthday. It was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend.

Went here for breakfast the food was lovely and the staff are really friendly and the done great fit us in as we never booked before hand definitely recommended to friends and family and will be back again

A really lovely experience all round. The staff were welcoming, attentive but not bothering you. Nothing was too difficult (we asked for a few changes) and the cakes are delicious. Unlimited tea/coffee with the afternoon tea a bonus. We even got a smart wee box for leftovers.

Took my mum for tea for two on mothersday and we had a lovely time. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't anything on the table saying the name of the place for photos. The brand is on the plates but its under the cakes so it was hard to show where we were. The food was delicious but I think we were maybe a scone each away from being full. I've never left tea for two with room in my tummy so that was something noticeable to me. The coffee was delicious too, creamy roast that wasn't too strong. Lovely lattes. Would recommend branded napkins or branded flower vases? Apologies also I got jam on a daffodil. Would recommend but also hope they add something more identifiable for images. We had a lovely breakfast at Mimis! The staff are so friendly and attentive and the food is delicious, beautifully presented and quick despite them being busy. This is our second visit to Mimis in a couple of weeks as we had vouchers to use but the lovely team chose us for their birthday promo and gave us our meal free on our last visit which made my day so we returned today to use our vouchers. Special thanks to Lindsay, Lauren, Mel and the barista Alex- you guys do a wonderful job!

We came here today for lunch for my girlfriends birthday as we always do, the food here is amazing, along with the atmosphere and service, they really went over and above today and I’m extremely grateful.

I simply love Mimis hence choosing it for my birthday lunch with family. The Mac cheese is lovely , coffee too. Sometimes when walking my pooch at Lauriston Castle I will get a coffee too., lovely treat. The visit was then topped by a lovely cup cake complimentary for my special day! Nice touch indeed and thank you . Always get first class service and can’t wait to get back !

Have been before and it was a good experience, this time polar opposite. Ordered eggs benedict and a breakfast. 45 mins later still waiting. Went to ask where food was and received an apology and told drinks were taken off the bill, by this time both drinks were finished so were provided with fresh ones. When the food arrived the crumpets were brick hard and I couldn't cut through them and the bacon was frazzled beyond edible, I returned it and was asked if I wanted an alternative or a replacement but I didn't want to wait another 40mins. The breakfast was underwhelming and the bacon was left. The server then came and apologised and cancelled the bill. I asked what the delay had been and told we only have one waffle machine!!! I wasn't having waffles. Would we eat here again? No is the answer. Fair play to the server for cancelling the bill, would have been nice if during the 40 min wait they apologised for the delay rather than waiting for me to ask where the order was.

Lovely cafe with comfy seats and nice staff, but a little expensive. You should write the cost of the drink of the month on the specials boards; £5.50 is a lot for something described as tea.

Very tasty 3 cheese macaroni. Did prefer the Mexican version they used to do but nice and cheesy. It goes without saying the cakes, which they specialise in, are yummy. There are a few branches now around Edinburgh so not far to go for a coffee and cake fix!

Disappointed with the cheese and ham sandwich and I was very disappointed to be serve with three tiny packs of butter costing £3.20 with my cheese scone.! They didn’t ask if I wanted that much either. Then I ordered to take away two cheese scones and they gave six packs of butter costing costing £6.40. ! We have been going to this restaurant ever since they opened and never been charged for the little butters. We have to think very seriously about going back….it’s certainly not worth it.

We recently visited Mini’s Bakery in Edinburgh for a work team lunch. The ambiance was delightful, the service impeccable, and the food both satisfying and delectable. The Avocado toast with chorizo and feta was simply scrumptious 🤤, and the passion fruit lemonade soda a refreshing treat. I'll certainly return without hesitation!

The first time we visited we had an amazing lunch. Everything was delicious, and the staff was very nice! For my birthday we ordered an afternoon tea at home, and oh-my: what an incredible surprise and experience! 5 stars is not enough for this place.

Had coffee and cake or bacon roll. Both excellent.

Carrot cupcake had a great texture but unfortunately also had after-taste of baking soda. Icing also overly sweet. Overall not terrible, was just hoping for better.

Don't think I've ever been disappointed going to Mimis, both the food and service are always fantastic. The Brunch toastie and the Mars krispie were both to die for 😋

It is always a lovely place to have lunch and spend time with some friends. I love the food and the service so I definitely recommend it.

Quality ingredients poorly prepared. Overcooked sausage and bacon and hard poached egg. Nothing on the plate was hot and we had to ask for butter for the toast. They use quality products and it could have been a great breakfast. We told the staff who seemed disinterested.

Bought this today, 18/08/23, need to say, it’s just so delicious. Having it for the first time from Mimi’s after seeing the reviews, overwhelmed!

Staff were so friendly and knew some of their customers by name. My mum is elderly and doesn't eat a lot so they offered to serve her a child portion without us having to ask.

Ordered a Birthday Cake for my wife's birthday, Went for the Chocolate Fudge cake. I have to say this was the best chocolate cake ever. The presentation and decoration was excellent, picked up from the Corstorphine branch and the service was first class and friendly. Would definitely recommend Mimi's for celebration cakes. Excellent 👌.

Lovely little cafe with a perfect sun trap garden! We had sausages rolls, sandwiches, cakes and mimi’s homemade sodas which were all delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again!

Coffee and waffles were great but unfortunately found the cakes a bit stale and my mars bar crispy cake tasted really stale. My friend's empire biscuit was totally tasteless. Really disappointed as their cakes used to be the best but last couple of times they haven't hit the mark at all.

Recommendation: Mimis on St John’s road. We took our daughter there for her 11th birthday. They treated her like the princess she is. There was a happy birthday sign on the table when we arrived and a candle in her slice of cake. She was absolutely delighted! Our waitress, Gemma, was so attentive and a great asset to the Mimis team. The red velvet cake was a huge hit 🤤

The shop was cold so we had to keep our coats on, the tables looked scruffy, the staff were pleasant. My aunt was unable to eat her tray-bake because it was too hard to eat because it had been in the fridge, my son asked for orange juice but it was full of ice with very little orange juice. I found the wall paper immature and offensive. extremely disappointing

Beautiful afternoon tea. Splendid sandwiches, delicious sausage roll, good scones and amazing delicate cakes and a takeaway box for the 2 little cakes I couldn't quite manage

I asked if we could sit at a certain table to benefit my mum who has mobility problems. They said no we have people coming for that table. 5 minutes later the table beside was cleared and would have suited us. By this time there were 3. They could of offered to wait for the table as it was only 5 minutes. The service was very slow and inattentive. Waiting staff would often stand around chatting away when guests are needing served or tables needing cleared. Drinks took a while as the guy was chatting away. Food was nice however but doesn't say it makes up for the lack of service. The general feel of the cafe was not as good as it used to be. Toilets were dirty and cake boxes scattered all over dining room. There seemed to be no management on which hopefully would solve these issues.

Popped in for a cuppa and a cake. Really enjoyed it red velvet cupcake was so good.

Went for breakfast with friends and it was delicious. Service was quick and excellent. Staff also is friendly and kind. Will recommend to book in advance. Loved my experience here.

Best waffles we had in a long time!

Lunch was lovely, however our lunch was booked for 12.00pm , at 1.15pm we were advised that we only had 15 mins left to finish our lunch, then we were approached at 1.25pm saying that they require the table to be vacated. At no stage during the booking process was I advised that that there was a time limit for our stay. We felt that we were rushed and left feeling disappointed with our visit. We will not return.

Went for a breakfast had black pudding oat roll one of the best rolls I have tasted all very top quality filling black pudding sausage eggs porch eggs from high quality suppliers very species very clean and tidy and very well mannered friendly staff we definitely recommend this place

Myself 2daughters and 2 grandchildren went for breakfast. Full breakfast was £13:50 I didn't want full breakfast so picked 4 items from breakfast list and was still charged £12 only thing nice was the poached egg and the toast, my daughters didn't like their breakfast either bacon was so hard it was all curled up and tattie scones only cooked on 1 side . Kids roll with 1 sausage and 1 piece of bacon was £6:25!! £60 for breakfast don't mind paying a bit extra if it's nice but it wasnt. So safe to say we won't be back there .

We’re pointed towards a very comfortable table and given menus. We looked and chose our drink and snack. And that was it! At least 9 servers or people behind the servers but no acknowledgment of waiting customers. They were too busy drinking and chatting. Eventually one server picked up a tablet and walked towards a couple who had come in after us! We won’t be back. Generally felt standards had slipped. Menus scruffy and stained. Tables left with dirty cups and plates etc . The servers could have been tidying up rather than chatting.

Welcoming, friendly - especially in summer when the garden open Clean, tidy, great selection. Fantastic food and drinks - i love your soup n sandwich options. Staff very friendly, helpful and keen to help in any way they can.

Visited with my partner - my soup was luke warm but my partner picked the ham, pesto and cheese sandwich - Jeeze what has happened to Mimi’s, the ham used to be lovely but now the horrible pink rubbery stuff with circles white fat! He couldn’t eat. Thankfully cakes were good - please don’t alter these Mimi’s!!tbh won’t be back as used to so enjoy but don’t want to risk.

Tea and cakes today with my wife. Bounty Hot chocolate was excellent., it came with half a Bounty and coconut sprinkled cream on top. I really like the traybakes, Daim Bar bake today was very good. I find them better than the cakes and recommend them. One problem though, the place was freezing. The door doesn't close properly and the heating supposedly had not been working earlier. I almost walked out I was so cold. Please can you get the door fixed. The cost to fix it would be saved in heating costs in just a few days.

I've always enjoyed MiMi's for a nice treat but today it disappointed. The staff were lovely but the brownie I ordered was half the size they used to be. In addition the restaurant was freezing. We had to keep our coats on to try to stay warm.When I looked around< I noticed everyone else was also wearing a coat too. It seems like Mimi's are trying to avoid putting up prices by making the portions smaller and turning off the heat. I understand that it is difficult for small businesses to stay afloat but I won't be going back until the heating goes back on.

Mimi's had organised a Halloween event in the garden, which I didn't know they had as I don't live this side of town. The garden was transformed into a spooky wonderland, the staff had clearly worked very hard and gone to a lot of effort. My son enjoyed the craft tent, listening to spooky stories and enjoyed the Pizza Geeks pizza's. It was our first Halloween experience as a family and we loved it. Hope it becomes an annual event.

Came here while in Edinburgh for my dad's birthday a while back. Red velvet cake was gorgeous and breakfast muffins with eggs was really good. my dad's carrot cupcake was amazing and he really enjoyed it. The staff were amazing too :)

I went for breakfast here and I got food that made me feel happy and staff that made me feel comfortable - I really couldn't ask for more (but a few more V options would be great please).

Had 30 mins to pass before a meeting and thought I would have an afternoon treat. Plenty of staff in attendance with more than half eating/drinking behind the counter but in full view of customers. One member of staff then planted himself down at a table for 4 to eat, in the middle of the cafe; presume no staffroom? His mask was not very well fitting and more often than not was below his nose until he sat down and removed it. Not sure about his choice of work dress compared to some colleagues. All in all, I felt the usual Mimis professional standards of staff appearance and behaviour was somewhat lacking here. Coffee and scone arrived separately but were of a high standard.

Had to wait 45 Min before getting what we Ordered, it was like watching the Chuckle Brotheres running a Tee Room. The Poached Eggs were like Hard Boiled Eggs. Needless to say I won't be back.

Looked forward to my daughter birthday high tea, staff very good, had to pay £5 deposit when booked table on line for the3 of us, i thought that this £15 would come of bill, it came to £54 for 3 high teas, on one tier,, in total we paid £69!!!! Will not be back newould never

Nice atmosphere and staff very friendly. My waffle was just amazing.

Bought 6 brownies, box was soggy which meant 4 of the brownies were wet, tasted horrible and soggy and half of the food stuck to the box so lost half the order. Customer service was very poor, diverted me to an email then ignored emails. A week later contacted again and they said they won't do anything so wasted £20 on 2 brownies basically. Other great, independent bakers out there which I will now use all the time instead. Avoid.

We booked afternoon tea here for a family birthday. The food was lovely (although the jam was incredibly runny). The staff were lovely but it took ages to get the bill and we were never asked if we wanted a refill on our tea/coffee

Freshest afternoon tea I've had in a long time. Others I've had from other cafés are dry and you can tell foods been defrosted but not with Mimi's! Everything was exceptional from booking, table service, venue and awesome food. Well worth every penny!

This is the second Mimis venue we have visited and we will definitely be back. Although there isn't the biggest variety of food, the food available is impeccable. Service is great and its a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

Well, not much to stay but the cafe is really average and quite expansive as well. Not recommend the coffee there if you are a coffee lover or seeking for comfortable place to seat for longer.
