Milton Fry in Edinburgh, City of

Chips were under cooked and tasteless. The cod I couldn't even cut into and had to rip a piece off. Wish I hadn't bothered as it was like chewing cardboard. Ended up throwing it away - what a waste of hard earned money.

Im not fussy on food, and I almost never leave reviews.. but the fish n chips here are absolute sh*thouse. I now know the expression of eating cardboard 🤮

We really like this chip shop - enjoy the fish and chips but especially like the kebabs and pizzas. Kebabs are generous portions and one chicken kebab is enough for 2 adults.

Visited this place march 2022 Lunchtime got the pizza slice .two sausages .and chips The pizza slice was dry and absolutely tasteless yuk The sausages same again no taste And covered in thick greast batter The chips were without doubt the Worst i can remember ever having been served all grease and worst of all the really hard BLACK ones had been placed underneath the fresher Ones .the whole meal was uneatable And this excuse for a chipshop is open at lunchtime purely for the school kids there should be a law against feeding this greasy tasteless Garbage to young kids .

Got king rib supper, king rib was completely tasteless and had about inch thick batter around it, terrible. Fish was tasteless and tasted like it had been sitting for hours as was the king rib, so dry. Chicken pakora bang average. Never be back again absolutely rank.

I had the Mixed Kebab Wrap and my other half had the Chicken Wrap,They were huge and very tasty full of good quality ingredients, had to wait about 20mins while it was prepared infront of us but it was well the wait. 10/10👍🏻😀

Never buy Fish and Chips from this chippy - as the fish IS NOT cooked fresh but can sit in the hoptplate for 30 minutes. It is dried up. If you also simply come into the shop straight from the street you can wait up to 30 minutes for service. They spend more time on telephone orders/deliveries which by the time the order is received is cold and inedible and for inshop customers have to wait. If you must go in - do not pay until you receive your order.

After waiting 1 hour and 50 mins and three phones calls i still don’t have my order if ur hungry and want it quick don’t order here the staff don’t tell there customers there busy and order might be longer as they apparently don’t know this !! How unprofessional!!!

Although i live locally this is the first time i have had a fish supper here. It will be the last! Hardly any fish and the batter was thick and chewy? Awful!

Worst fish supper I have ever had the misfortune to eat. Very little fish inside the chewy, elasticated batter that was inedible. Chips were pretty good.

Delicious Foods and Very friendly staff we had Fish and Chip and Doner Pizza definitely we will go back again.

Food was cold, one of the pizzas was tasteless. After being notified it had been dispatched it took 30 mins to arrive and I live 10 mins away.

The food was not great it’s was very greasy the potato fritters where dripping in oil and the rest was not good at all some times the food from here is lovely but this time is was very disappointed

Pizza is always lovely but tonight it was FANTASTIC!! Always quality food, hot and fresh.

Slow service, delivered 30 mins late and food was like warm.. Won’t be ordering from them again!

Ordered a chicken and mushroom pizza but it didn't have any mushrooms on it, if I wasn't si hungry I would have contacted them but other than that pizza was brilliant.

The food unfortunately was extremely greasy and not very warm when it arrived. Just wasn’t nice. Delivery was super quick though so can’t understand why it was so cold, can’t only imagine it wasn’t freshly cooked beforehand

Half the food order missing on delivery. Phoned restaurant and remaining food arrived half hour after rest. Really cold and inedible. Everyone else finished eating before other meal arrived.

Delivered 10 mins early. Food was very good and hot when it arrived. Highly recommended

just had fish and chips from Milton Fry - what a disappointment!! fish was dry, batter soggy and chips were awful. Definitely would not go back there.

Ordered large chicken kebab chicken wasent cooked properly and there portion sizes are so small same with the chips ! Very disappointed only went there because chipster is closed in magdalene no wonder they have bad feedback .. they have about 10 people working there not one of them have s clue !

Had a spicy chicken + Jalapeño pizza with chips, was very nice and would definitely buy again.

Ask the driver to bring it to the correct area but instead he left it at reception and left a voicemail saying where it was. Didn’t wait even 2 minutes.

Again, what’s the point of offering delivery times when they are just ignored. It’s the same with every restaurant I’ve used, not just the Milton fry

Food wasn’t as good as normal, very small portion of chips and an extra pound at the door for delivery which as it’s New Year’s Day I don’t mind but it could have been mentioned while ordering

Suffering a viral infection all I wanted was mac and cheese, OMFG!!! Home made and totally amazeballs!! I actually wish there was more. Only bummer was the chips were horrid and why do u never honour requests I.e. salt n sauce on chips, it's an easy request.

Food was good except for the chips , must have got the bottom of the bag they were all small n scraggy couldn't even eat them

Delivery time great and driver so pleasant but food just awful. Sorry but it was. We’d been travelling home for hours andjust wanted a nice take away. Sadly this was dire worst meal ever. Only good thing smallest portions ever. 🤢

Ordered at 4pm when ot opened now 20 past 5 absoloutr joke order from here all the time and there is always a problem and no one can seem to do anything about it so maby if i leave a bad reveiw something will actually be done! 1 hour and 20 mins for a order that was put in when it 1st opened is not acceptable!!!!!

Good food, as always, but two pizzas ordered, one 10" and one 12" & got two 10". Disappointed and out of pocket (slightly)

Ordered jumbo sausage supper - unfortunately the sausages had barely any batter on them and the meat was really flavourless. I’d suggest ordering something else from the menu.

ordered a wrap with salad dressing ,, no salad dressing so the wrap was very dry 🙄 and onion rings , they were full of hard batter sorry miltonfry but that’s my last order to you , use to order from you guys all the time , not impressed tonight !

pizza was good white pudding and king rib was so dry had to go in the bucket juice was warm not out the fridge

got a pizza with with 3 toppings and no cheese. got spicy chicken and it was nuclear! couldn’t eat it as was borderline melting my tongue! loved the pizzas but won’t be getting one again 😑

Been using the Milton fry for some time now always found the food spot on the staff especially John the delivery driver very friendly a very good shop with mixed clientele the reason people keep coming back is obvious keep up the good work guys!

Very clean shop, friendly staff. I had perfectly cooked chicken kebab and my hausband had pizza. They do small size of fish perfect for kids.

I'm a usual customer and i always get donner rolls and they put everything on it after I requested nothing on it phone them up and get attuide and my partner got a Milton special and the bun was like it had been dipped in a bucket of water it was soggy and the fish was dry so won't be back

No salt or sauce on fish and chips. Fish was mostly batter. Strawberry ice cream and orange Fanta delivered. Not only was order incorrect and substandard but the remarks for restaurant were ignored. Never had anything but perfection from Milton Fry in past but last time I will order.

Garlic bread was tasty enough (not too greasy or hard), but a bit disappointed that the ice cream wasn’t included in the delivery despite having already been paid for; the driver apologised and said if he’s back out my way tonight he’ll aim to bring it with him or arrange for a discount for the next time I order - appreciate that the offer was made but not too sure how this would be done?

I used to like ordering from here but recently orders are always super late like 1 hr 20mins for a pizza and an omelette is taking the Mick! No-one seems to be able to do simple tasks like salt & sauce on chips, mind you That'd be ok if there was actually more than 5 chips with the omelette 😣 Really disappointed!

i understand with the snow they should not delivery i had all ready £2.40 for delivery that the delivery guy had ask for extra £1 because for the snow they know the weather they should for not took orders. the food was cold i understand it was snowing

This is the first time I’ve used Miltons and the service and quality of the food was amazing I had the large mixed kebab and chips with cheese which I will be ordering again very tasty defo hit the spot so thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍

Was well cooked although the large mixed kebab has most definitely shurnk in size as it's no bigger than a small kebab it's almost certainly over priced aswell. The delivery was good & on time. Excellent

This is my third order from this chip shop in two months. Last order I cancelled because it took over an hour and a half and by that time I had cooked a healthy pasta for my family.

Pizza was cold on arrival. The bags were wet. We only live around the corner but had hurt leg so couldn't get out. Would have been quicker walking for it even with a limp.

I ordered a seafood pizza, came from jars and tins smelt of vinegar, the pizza base was sodden with moisture and the chips looked like that had been around for weeks, absolutely inedible. don't eat here !!!!
