The park itself is beautiful..a gem in sheffield..would recommend any 1 to go The cafe...unfortunately is knowhere near the standard of the park "£6.50 for a tuna melt is extortionate. With a small salad and 4 crisps It wasnt that busy but we were waiting roughly 30 mins..even for our drinks..i understand that eating out has become a luxury but even dick turpin wore a mask.the food was cooked ok but i will not recommend or advise anyone to come tocafe..fetch a packed lunch

I ordered a very expensive Bacon sandwich £4.50 . It came on a wet soggy breadcake and a measly amount of bacon. Very unappetising. No cutlery in the trays and when i asked for one I was told to look in the trays, which were empty!!!! I dont see how they justify their prices.

Visited on a Wednesday afternoon, lovely setting by the little lake. Fresh made sandwiches and chips ordered, had to wait but that was fine as they were made to order. Situated in a beautiful park in Sheffield, would recommend .

Visited with 4 friends and their children, we all had a lunch meal of either paninis or jacket potato and chilli. The jacket and chilli were awful! Dry, no flavour, and I’m sure it made me ill. The place is ok for drinks but take ages to arrive. Terrible food - wouldn’t advise eating here

Very popular large cafe, with lots of seating indoor and out, and it's a perfect vantage point for watching activity on the boating lake. Fairly standard cafe fare but good quality. Queues for food and for your food to arrive can be quite long, because it's so popular, with families and everyone else too

This place never ceases to disappoint! We live close by and so have been coming here for years. The last 3-4 years have been a downhill spiral. The staff , in particular the owners are rude and do not care about their behaviour whatsoever! How they still get a licence to trade is beyond me. They are so lucky and fortunate to be in this beautiful park which is a prize location in the City and they just do not deserve it. After Covid they changed the seating outside which is not accessible to disabled people , nor is it particularly easy to access as an able bodied person. They have closed the toilets and send you off to the outdoor ones opposite the boating lake (happy to take your money but not happy to provide the most basic of amenities ). This was my first visit to the cafe after having deliberately not been for 2 years (due to poor service and rudeness )and surprisingly (sarcasm right there) nothing has changed ! Rude , uncaring, obnoxious!! It’s about time we had new owners for this prime location !

This place has really deteriorated over the months. It’s now very expensive for what you get . The service is poor. The tables inside are dirty. £4.25 for a basic cheese and onion toastie, then they forgot the onion and the coffee didn’t arrive. The place needs a makeover the windows need cleaning.

Avoid. We visited the cafe today 25/09/2022 for lunch it was busy, but there was no indication of how long we had to wait for food. After waiting half an hour for both drinks and food (two coffees and sandwiches) we complained and asked for a refund. The manager was very rude and confrontational and did not apologise for the wait, obviously considering a half an hour wait acceptable even for the staff to make two coffees. If she had been polite and apologetic I would have accepted this, but her attitude was rude and condescending. Another junior member of staff apologised, maybe the manager could learn from this. When the food arrives it does so in a paper bag with disposable packaging so much for sustainability. Won’t be going again. I wouldn’t have written this bad review if the manager hadn’t been so rude. Come on Sheffield City Council change the operator of this shoddy cafe.

Adding my voice to the many poor reviews here. This place used to be so lovely. Tables and chairs now replaced with benches unsuitable for the elderly/wheelchair users. No blankets for cooler days. Crockery and cutlery replaced with non recyclable plastic boxes and cutlery and paper cups. The menu is restricted and unimaginative. No more delicious cakes. Used to close at 5, now 4, and then they shut early on a whim, even in good weather when customers are queueing up outside. The staff are miserable, and the manager is rude. All in all, after spending thousands of pounds at this place over the years, it's time to move to the competition at the local pub. Such a pity. The park deserves a better cafe!

Finally served after a long wait. Ordered a half shot Latee and asked for the rest of the shot in my partners, as he likes it stronger. When the drinks finally came they were both very very weak. Fine for me, but I asked if we could have a bit more coffee in one of them. We were rather rudely told only if we paid another fifty pence for an extra shot. We coughed up the extra money & she grudgingly obliged. How difficult would it be to just smile & top it up with a bit more coffee ? Instead we were made to feel a nuisance . Ten pounds fifty for two small coffees served in a paper cup & a couple of plain scones....all served up with a bad attitude! The place is very bland inside, but it's all there is in the park, so I guess they have a captive market.

No access to toilets, terrible menu. What has happened to this once superb park cafe?? Due to covid we hadn’t been for a year but today we even queued to get in as the breakfast was always fab and so many choices. First they opened at 10am but were late opening which wasn’t brill but hey things happen. Inside looked the same but when we got the menu, wow what a disappointment. Either sausage or bacon sandwich that was it! No kids choices. Went with it hoping that it would be the previous high standard..nope not at all poor bacon, cheap sausage and all served in a bags and polystyrene, no cutlery. Looking at the menu it’s terrible, all the lovely home cooking has gone replaced with toasties and jacket potato’s and the kids bit is a disgrace..everything* with chips like every other greasy cafe. I don’t know if it’s changed hands as the pudding ladies who ran it prior to covid were superb so I’m just so sad for this place.

Very disappointed in previous visits. Agree with comments regarding food quality and packaging. Yesterday, they put a closed notice up at 3pm during half-term and would not let us in. There were plenty of other potential customers around. The other park cafés in Sheffield, like Graves, Forge Dam, Rivelin and Endcliffe are way better. This will damage the whole park as a family destination.

Food OK, but still serving it in horrible polystyrene containers in paper carrier bags with wooden and plastic cutlery. All of this goes into a normal bin and when I asked about their recycling they don't do it! You feel horribly guilty stuffing all that packaging into already overflowing bins. They also got quite huffy when I asked why they were still serving food this way, and cited Covid as the reason, of course. Also toilets still not open. Millhouses Park therefore has one toilet block with one toilet each for male, female and disabled and it's just not enough. Doesn't make you want to stay long! They really ought to get to grips with the packaging and start serving on normal plates with normal cutlery again (I think they must've ordered a huge shedload of the stuff and need to use it up - or they don't want to employ or buy a dishwasher. Cakes were not good at all - 'rolo' slice rock-hard (you needed a chisel to eat it with) and scones dry as dust. Also, tables not very clean and floor covered in food.

.Toilets not in use, doors wide open on ice cold morning meaning no patron dared take their coats off. Food served in a bag with takeaways cutlery. It is time the ludicrous Covid rules were dropped and this venue went back to being a welcoming cafe.

Popped in for some lunch one Sunday afternoon while visiting the park's playground with my son. Between our party we had a toastie, a tuna melt and some chips. Both sandwiches were really good, the tuna melt was the best I've had for some time. Chips were hot and fresh, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Everything else we saw looked just as good, place was pretty busy but service was quick and staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable too. Good to know there's somewhere to get a decent snack when we visit the park in future. Definitely recommend.

Rating 3/5 is being generous. We have visited this cafe probably for over 15 years. Previously enjoying breakfasts and many delicious lunchtime offerings. But standards have ‘slipped’ - and food is poorly prepared. A simple toasted tea cake - burnt (on more than one occasion)....

Not very nice, tuna sandwich was disgusting, tuna just slapped on the bread and wasn’t very appetising. Waiting time was around 20 mins and we were served this. Would not recommend. There was a private order going on so i understand the chef was busy.

Awful service unclean tabes and they got the order wrong multiple times we asked for a mango bubble frappe and a latte recieved a vegan cream filled drink with a few mango boba and a chai latte.

Poorly customer service from the girl behind the counter and when she asked her colleagues if they could make a caramel iced coffee they sighed. The iced coffee it’s self was shocking and was cheaply done, nothing that could not have been done at home. I asked for two buns and one in a box and she just threw in the bun to the box. Then I asked if I could pay half cash and half card and she’s Replied with I do t have time for that as there was a slight que behind me.

In new hands. In a day and age where people struggle to make a sandwich. These guys don't. Friendly wholesome staff to boot.

Came in after a long day of walking in the Peak District and needed more snacks. Wasn't all that impressed by the dirt, dust and bits of debris strewn about the floor. The boy who took the order greeted us with all the enthusiasm of a secret arch-nemesis. There's a fairly extensive mention of milkshakes, waffles, ice creams, cakes and other unhealthy options. Ordered 2 Mint Aero cheesecake milkshakes. Both were good, but will not be coming back due to the general messiness of the place.
