There were four of us in our group and all of us enjoyed the food provided, faultless, huge portions of good quality food. Pleasant surroundings, already planning a return visit to eat out on the veranda overlooking the lake in the summer. Alcohol is also served.

Have been to Millers Tea room several times but won’t visit again - the quality of the food is just not the same in my opinion. I used to really enjoy the Posh Fish Finger sandwich but today thd chips were a soggy burnt mess , the sandwich lacked flavour and the lettuce was limp . It’s not a cheap lunch and not one of our party of four enjoyed the food. At no time were we asked if our meals were ok . No, it’s not the same , if i was to return it would be for coffee only.

Stopped off for a late afternoon cuppa after a visit to York. They served a lovely pot of tea and we also enjoyed some toasted teacakes. Also, couldn't resist the twice-fried chips! They were delicious, chunky "proper" chips! Service was quick; staff were pleasant and the price was reasonable. The tearooms and the toilets were very clean too!

Visited with a friend for tea & cake & a catch up. (23rd Sept) We sat outside but decided to move inside as it was a bit chillier than we thought. It was no trouble to move us. The waitress was lovely, chatty & friendly. Service was very efficient & we didn’t have to wait long for our order to arrive. This is my 2nd visit & I will be back again.

I have had many visits over the years to Millers and the lovely Grounds of Heron Lakes, where I would often walk around after visiting the Tea Room. On a number of occasions I have had a 3 year old child with me and have taken a packed lunch for him and without any issue, unfortunately on this occasion it appears it was an issue as I was informed this isn't allowed and not to again or words to that effect. Because of this I will not be going to the Tea Room again, it will not spoil my enjoyment of Heron Lakes itself though as I will continue to enjoy the Grounds and will simply miss out giving my Custom to the Tea Room!

We had been to Beverley shopping and decided to try Millers as we had been meaning to do so for a while. We sat outside as we had the dog with us. We were given a menu very quickly and our order was taken by a friendly member of staff. The food was delicious, we both had the flatbread which was served with salad, creamy coleslaw and a small basket of twice cooked moreish chips 🍟. Another member of staff made a fuss of the dog and brought him a plate of homemade dog treats. The setting is lovely right on the lake. Overall a good experience we will be back.

We called for a coffee this morning, to say that it was the worst cup of coffee I have ever tasted would be an understatement, with the milk been so hot it had burnt the coffee it was so bitter we could not drink it, when the table was cleared and it was clear that we had not drunk the coffee we were never asked if there had been an issue with coffee as there obviously was, she just took it away. Sorry to say we won’t be calling again

My daughters kindly paid for afternoon tea, as a treat for myself and them. They booked , as advised. It was lovely. My only negative is that on the Internet it says £14.95 per person. Yet in the tearoom they were charged £16.95, they said that's what they will have quoted on the phone. When I stated it says £14.95 on your website, that's an EXTRA £8.00 my daughters have to pay. I was basically met with hard luck. CHECK THE PRICE BEFORE YOU GO.

Popped in a few weeks ago whilst on a bike ride . Found the staff really friendly ! Came back for a few days away so decided to try food and drink . On arrival we were greeted and seated by friendly knowledgable staff . I chose the scrambled egg on toast and I opted for portabella mushrooms instead of smoked salmon . This wasn’t a problem . My food was served piping hot and the scrambled eggs were second to none ! The mushrooms and side salad were Devine . My husband went for a bacon sandwich with mushroom and tomato on white Bloomer ( hash brown on side ) . We both enjoyed our food and the stunning location and service topped it all ! A definite thumbs up for us and I’m sure we will become regulars when over and bike riding. Thank you Millers !

Visited here for. Had to wait ages for someone to take our order so in the end went up to order it, only to be told someone will take your order soon. The food is very expensive, especially the posh fish finger sandwich. The cakes and coffee were good. The staff were very unfriendly and slightly rude. Thought this was going to be a quiet location but it wasn’t.l certainly won’t be returning again.

Nice tearoom, lovely view, coffee good but expensive. Been a few times now, always got a little bit of flapjack on saucer with coffee, nice touch. My friend told me it was not on her coffee last week not on ours either a few days later. A very disappointing money saving ploy by owners, don't start cutting back all you will end up doing is lose valuable customers, no one likes a cheapskate cafe.

I booked a table for two this morning to arrive at 10:45 checking we would be ok for breakfast. Yes breakfast served all day - I was told. We arrived with 5 min to spare and was seated at our reserved table and given a menu. 15 min later we had not been approached for our order so I thought it must be counter service so I went and ordered. I did so at 10:59 as we realised some of the breakfasts were only available till 11:00. We waited, and waited, eventually our drinks arrived. Very nice coffees. We waited and waited and waited……. Ordered another two drinks, they arrived. After watching other food appear to people who had been sat long before us, when eventually at 11:47 our breakfasts appeared. Full English, not so bad, eggs royal😱 - £9:50 - shocking. One slice of brown toast ( I requested toast instead of muffin) with two HARD Luke warm poached eggs. No garnish, plonk. No knives and forks until another waitress brought them. It just felt like they had no organisation, everybody was just WAITING. Please sort this cafe out, Millers RAYWELL, show them how to go on.

The location was quite pleasant. After covid five friends/ work colleagues of different ages the oldest being 86 decided to meet for lunch. up. We had never visited before so thought we would try. BUT NEVER AGAIN. We were so looking forward to this get together. When our friend called to book she was not told about only 90 minutes for a table. The staff were quite severe from start to finish, notes on tables 90 minutes for a table. It felt a little intimidating staff constantly reminding you "your time was nearly up". Ninety minutes from sitting down to take orders, serve hot food and then they want you out is not enough. Very disappointed, will never return again. Greed over customer service.

Amazing setting and friendly staff however the food was very disappointing. Two of us had the steak burgers which were cold, mushy and barely cooked. In fairness, the other meals were fine. We were also unsure if enough care was being taken re Covid.

Wanted a nice coffee somewhere and found this place on the map, what a great little find!! Set by the lake with indoor and outdoor seating, great menu, quality food and generous with the portions. We had coffees and full English brekkie and veggie brekkie. Top recommendation, great place and friendly staff.

The food is usually excellent but sadly Sunday lunch was a complete let down. The beef was nice but that’s all. The pork was dry, the lamb was inedible. Just a pile of fat and gristle that didn’t even look appealing. We waited until the waiter took our sharer board away, which was hardly touched, to mention our disappointment but he didn’t ask if we enjoyed our meal. Nobody asked while we were eating. As we paid, we were not asked if we enjoyed our lunch. It seems nobody cares at Tomahawk. It gives me no pleasure writing a negative review as the food is usually excellent but today was awful.

Cold coffee, which was a real shame as the majority of breakfast was really quite nice. We will be here for breakfast again when we next stay. Staff were friendly.
