Fantastic place to eat service was lovely no waiting between courses...

My first time here and I had a lovely meal with my friends, excellent value for money in the set lunch menu.

Every time I have been here, the staff have been attentive, knowledgeable, and experienced. Fab place to eat always.

Coming to a Steakhouse who they themselves are " Master of Steaks" I would expect a master class. However, I ordered the Filet Mignon done blue and specified that I'd rather it be under cooked than over. When my steak arrived, not only it wasn't blue , it wasn't even rare! More medium rare. I'm never one to complain and usually let it go if it's adequate. So I mentioned this to the waitress who apologised and promptly returned it to the kitchen. After a 15 min wait my replacement steak returned, this time was rare but definitely not blue! Are they afraid to undercook their steaks? Anyway, I let this go as was adequate I suppose. To be honest I've never had a steak right 1st time at any Miller & Carter but do enjoy the ambience these restaurants offer. On leaving there was no offer of any discount by way of an apology or acknowledgement of any errors. Don't get me wrong the staff were polite and helpful, but the chefs either too busy or need education on the perfect steak! I always like to give the benefit of the doubt but probably won't go to any Miller & Carter again! I reckon I could cook a better steak but paid good money for someone to do it for me.

A lovely evening at the restaurant, so easy to book online and communication is excellent. Our waiter Joe was a delight, welcoming and informative . The food, as always was delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Absolutely dreadful! Food came out cold and tough. Sent back then came out full of grease and over cooked, nothing fresh just reheated. Had to ask 3+ times for the bill, awful from start to finish.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, the table wasn't cleared between courses, only when they had already brought out the next dish. Two of the steaks were cooked incorrectly. Also, it was noted on the booking and reiterated on arrival that it was my uncles birthday, I was informed that they would do something to acknowledge it, this didn't happen. So as an overall experience it was rather disappointing and I'm not sure I would consider returning.

All staff very welcoming & service was good. We did order the special steak for £20 but the server came back to us to advise that this was not available it was an error that we were offered this , however the server advised that we could order a similar item for the same price which was acceptable to us.

Best service I’ve experienced in hospitality - and I’ve WORKED in hospitality. As soon as we arrived (my boyfriend and I) we were greeted by a truly lovely hostess who showed genuine warmth and wasted no time in showing us to our table. She introduced us to steak-master Alan, who continuously impressed my boyfriend and I throughout the evening with his immense knowledge and fantastic attitude. The food was phenomenal - not too much, but definitely not skimping on portion sizes. I hope to come again soon, and if Alan is working I’d be delighted. A genuine gentleman.

we visited at the start of the month around 8pm, the food was perfect but the service was even better we were served by Joe and the service was impeccable he was so lovely we’ll definitely be back!

When have I ever had a bad steak in Miller & Carter - NEVER Staff , location , food always on point - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were greeted as soon as we entered M&C on a busy Saturday evening. Even though it was extremely busy we were attended to straight away and drinks were promptly brought over and our menu choices were taken shortly after. Overall a fabulous evening for our wedding anniversary, we visit often and have never had bad service or a bad meal. All the staff are extremely polite and courteous.

Service was good however the food was not up to standard. Ribs were very dry and burnt like charcoal. Lobster tail all I could taste was garlic. It said award winning steak but didn't look or taste anything like it, pepper sauce it came with tasted like they just put only pepper. Mac and cheese was sooo oily, even the one in tesco is soo much better than that. Slow cooked beef shin was dry and over Powered with that onion loaf. Went there for my birthday was very exciting as we have been planning it for long time but I was very disappointed with the food. For the price I paid not worth it.

Fantastic quality and tasty steaks but extremely forgettable desserts

We ordered some cocktails unfortunately two of the cocktails we asked for were not available so had to pay full price saying that we asked the barman to recommend something he did not disappoint and had a very good knowledge about whisky

Really good food, especially great value for the 2 course lunch menu till 5pm. The pork tomahawk was particularly tasty !

As usual, the restaurant was clean and inviting. We dialled in our car registration and got taken to our table. Our starters arrived promptly and were freshly cooked and tasty. My daughter and I like our steaks well done but my Wife always asks for medium to well done. When it eventually arrived, the steak was raw on the inside, obviously not cooked to her requirements. My daughter and I cut some of our steaks and passed it to her. When the Waitress saw the steak, she could clearly see the problem. To be fair to M&C, they always make good their errors but this has happened on the last three visits to M&C. It is just not acceptable.

Had a lovely lunch here to celebrate a birthday. Really great and friendly service and excellent food. It's expensive but for a once in a while treat, you'd be hard pressed to beat it.

Had a birthday meal here over the weekend. Food and service was fantastic the staff here are a credit to the restaurant. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Had an early father's day evening here which from start to finish the food was amazing we were looked after by our server the very handsome Joe who catered to our every need and nothing was too much trouble a credit to the company and will return solely for the exceptional service

Quiet evening, hardly any customers still waited over a hour for food, when arrived food not cooked to order and incorrect food arrived. Very disappointing service and food.

Amazing friendly service & food

When going to Millar & Carter in Cardiff bay, it was for a first date. The manageress and another young lady commented on how beautiful my partner looked as soon as we entered the building, that made her feel extra special. The young lad Alan who was our waiter was exceptional, his knowledge of the steaks and food in general was awesome. He guided us through it all so that the experience would be magical. Which it was. There was no rush, and we were left to enjoy it all. Thank you.

Had some really nice rib eye and fillet steak with lobster here last night with my wife for our anniversary. Nicely cooked by Cai, and the service by Joe was outstanding. Will definitely call again.

Absolutely incredible filet mignon, the best I’ve ever had. Delightful sides balanced it out and the cocktail was the cherry on top. The service was great from Joe, and Hannah was delightful. A highlight of my time in Wales, highly recommend.

Wonderful experience and delicious food, and great value on the lunch time deal. Special shout out to our server Jose who was professional, kind and attentive, especially as he was the only server working the lunch period! Will be visiting again!

Very nice interior decor, food was delicious although as it was lunchtime we didn't indulge too much, just a light lunch. The sauvignon wine was especially very nice, skeleton coast. Waiter very pleasant. Only downside is the location which felt as though we were on an industrial site, not a great spot for such a lovely restaurant.

Joe our waiter was fabulous, knew what to recommend to us, as usual the best steak ever, don't know why we go elsewhere?? Will definitely return to Cardiff Bay M&C.

The items on the menu seemed better. Better chicken starter than before. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and was a good size and deli

The waiter took ages to take our order. The chips were very overcooked. The service charge added to the bill, however we did ask for this to be removed and we left a smaller tip.

If you want good stakes, it's a good bet expensive but has a set menu, which makes it beter value

Service was slow, staff was nice. Food was disappointing and pricy, also it seems you had to tip when paying by card?! The system didn’t give you an option to tip 0.

I'm on a short city break and thought I would treat myself to Miller and Carter. The food was amazing , hot and tasty, I got a different combination to what I suppose other people would normally order. I opted for 4 sides to make up my meal and with the portion sizes I wasn't disappointed. Lots of flavour. Dessert was fab too and I opted for the elderflower soda My Server was Dan, who made sure I had everything I needed. Thanks Dan. Shout out to the Grill Chef Alex too, can't let you go unoticed. Thanks for the delicious food. If and when I'm back in town I'll definitely be sure to visit again

Staff fantastic, booked 30 mins in advance of arrival no issues. Food was great, hot and well displayed. surprised at the long wait considering it wasnt busy but very enjoyable.

Booked a table for my husbands birthday. Food was amazing as always our grill chef was cai and all the food was fresh and presented to a high standard. Our server was attila who made sure our visit ran as smooth as possible he was very friendly and attentive. Only reason I gave 4 stats is I don't agree with the gratitude charge they add on to your bill without telling you. I chose not to add a tip and the server kept me chatting while I paid. It wasn't until I got to the car I noticed the extra charge and I didnt want to make a scene going back in. I understand its for table service however you have no choice but to have table service there so you shouldn't have to pay for it

Do not think I have ever had a better dining out experience! While the steak was immaculate and side servings so generous, the 5/5 rating is all down to our Steak Expert, José! He was the perfect distraction from the chaos of my life and made the experience so comfortable. He really lit up what had been a hard week. In simple terms, Miller & Carter, give him a pay rise! We will be back and hope to have the honour of meeting José again!

Love it, the only salad I ever enjoy

The steak was absolutely perfect. The sauce was delicious. Unfortunately, the chips were not good, very dry and tasted like they had been sat around all day. They were also cold. The service was good but at times a long wait between ordering various courses. The staff were friendly though. I al as find with M&C that the deserts let you down and this visit was no exception. The chocolate orange bomb was powdery and not sweet enough but looked amazing. The sticky toffee pudding was ok but a bit dry, definitely needed more sauce or custard. The sharing cookie was very nice. We were disappointed that the gluten free chocolate cake was taken off the menu.

Avoid. I was refused service because of my food allergies. This has never happened to me. I’ve dined all over the U.K., Europe, and the Americas. They couldn’t even prepare a meal without butter which means nothing is prepared fresh at this restaurant. (Edit) We had a reservation and when I politely offered to only order chips because of my allergies they still refused us service. The manager made an embarrassing fuss at the table over my allergies. It drew stares from the other diners. Their reply is just marketing to fool you. Anyone with allergies should avoid them. Look at the reply. They’re blaming me for having allergies. They will blame you. Every restaurant I’ve ever been to has been willing to help. I was refused service. It was humiliating and we left quietly. Avoid.

Front of house lady was so miserable. Sam our server was exceptional. Wife's steak was awful and had to be sent back. Onion mash was cold. Chips were lovely and hot. Venue was lovely and clean

Really good steak and a reliable night out. Service is always excellent. I visit fairly regularly but this time I've updated my rating and docked a star on the food, as the food was not as good as usual. Chips were only Luke warm and a bit stale as though they'd been sitting in the kitchen for a while before serving, and greenery was clearly old and wilted. Service and atmosphere was as good as ever though. Hopefully just a blip on the food tonight.

It was amazing from the moment you walked through the door you were made to feel welcome. Our server Joe was excellent. We had the king prawns for starters, steak and lobster tails for main and orange bomb for desert. Cooked to perfection by Cai. We will definitely be back

experience with the steaks at Miller & Carter. It’s unfortunate that all four steaks were chewy, especially after expressing your dissatisfaction to the server. I will say that the onion loaf and sauces were enjoyable, but the quality of the main course is crucial in a steakhouse. We will be exploring other options for your next steak outing.

The atmosphere and decor superb. Food out standing, service faultless. The price is rather high to visit more than once a year.

The staff were excellent especially Joe who was our server. He was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was beautifully cooked and decent portion sizes )although smaller than previous visits) and my strawberry sling cocktail tastes great. The only negative was unfortunately one member of the waiting staff had extremely bad body odour, thankfully we had finished our meal but, if we hadn’t it would have been extremely off putting
