Absolute great dining experience from start to finish .... Denise our waitress for the evening was more than welcoming ... explained everything as it was our first visit .... the food was so well presented and delicious we both had rib eye steaks cooked to perfection... compliments to the chef ! Been going to M&C for years, always cooked perfectly even if there has been the odd dubious cut, but it is usually sorted out and if Denise is your server it is always sorted out, don't be a bad server, be like Denise!

Our server William was amazing and attentive. Under pressure cos it was Valentines Day William was always on hand to meet our demands very quickly. The food was great and wine recommended by William was superb. We really enjoyed our Valentines experience. Thank you.

Our favourite go-to place for a meal at the moment, the food is absolutely fantastic. Our server on 2 occasions recently I think was called Jamie - he was extremely professional and a real credit to the establishment. We will be back soon.

Me & my friend came for a little catch up dinner, we had amazing food and absolutely amazing service from Orla! I’m gluten intolerant and orla made sure she was double checking everything for me, and she was so sweet and made sure me and my friend were having a good time. The food was absolutely unreal, 10/10 from us both X

Decent tho predictable food. My steak was definitely more rare than medium. Pleasant service but please drop the scripted chat eg how are we? Extrnely flat prosecco served which should have been noted by server and pourer. I always wonder why they seat couples next to large family groups when plenty of room to avoid this.

Orla served us, She was very attentive and polite. We enjoyed the chateaubriand sharer and a fillet but unfortunately not the t-bone. We brought up the issue with Orla and she kindly offered another option as she could see my partners son was not enjoying it. The cocktails were very good we enjoyed the Christmas cocktails too.

Beautiful cote du boeuf for my 40th birthday. William was most attentive and polite in his service. Our food was perfect.

It’s the night before our second lockdown in the UK and we seized the opportunity to dine here after driving past it for three years since it opened! It did not disappoint!Our server was Denise who demonstrated her full knowledge of the food on the menu and made us feel incredibly welcome. Not once did any of the staff display any signs of personal stress given the current situation our hospitality sector is in, they were all very professional including Denise and made sure all guests followed the Covid guidelines. We felt very safe and well looked after. The food was delicious. We love our steak and have eaten in a couple of good steakhouses over the years but this was one of the best experiences. We ordered the steak experience. I had a Angus 10oz fillet, my husband had the Angus ribeye. We ordered them as recommended on the menu. The fillet was like butter. One of the best I’ve had. I’ll be dreaming about it until I can go back through those doors again! If you like your steak so well done it’s rock hard this place is not for you. The chefs cook the steaks properly here and it’s for a good reason. The meat is excellent quality and should be respected. The sides were excellent, golden crispy fries, a wedge of salad (they’re not kidding, it’s a quarter of ice berg!) and a couple of extras we ordered. My only criticism was that the truffle Mac and cheese was slightly over done with the truffle oil but I love it so it wasn’t a spoiler I just know it can be quite over powering for some people and I think they could possibly have used less. We really enjoyed our meal and Denise was very friendly but in a natural, comfortable way, not forced like some places. She’s obviously very good with people. Our ‘last supper’ was one to remember and hopefully this establishment can live out this pandemic so we can return for another steak experience! We wish all the staff there our very best and hope to see them again.

Had a superb meal. Beautifully cooked mushrooms and melted cheese too start. My paenter and myself had the chicken wings. Sauce was lush. Main. I had the blackened 8 Oz rib eye. Omg. Was delicious. My mothe in law had rump. Was stunning. And my partner had the blackened Angus. Deicous. With sweet potatoes fris. Perfect. The onion loafs yummy. And beef dripping sauce. Best ever. Will be returning soon has lockdown over. And our waiter Louis. So please t and attentive. Fab place....

Absolutely delicious food, a clear respect for COVID guidelines and friendly staff. Couldn’t ask for more. Our server, Laura, was exceptional and even bought me out a complimentary dessert when she found out it was my birthday. Would recommend to anyone.

As a family we come here so often but never leave a review!! .... no place better for steak. No place better for value. The meals and the service are top draw. Value for money and the best quality. Special call to the staff who are tireless in their service and always accommodating. We have been waited on a number of times by Nichole who is by far and away the best waitress I have ever had the pleasure of begin served by. She is pleasant, articulate and joyful. Such a lovely treat. Ordered the fillet steak which was amazing and my partner loved his sirloin streak. Laura, the waitress, was great, accomodating and we never went without drinks. Would definitely come again

Table booked for 3pm asked could still order off lunch menu told that was now finushef so to order off main menu, bacon and cheese burger and the vegetarian burger option. Food arrived vegetarian quinoa burger was a soggy wet mess on a bun with well over fried sweet potatoe fries plus several accompaniments missing as described on the menu and bacon and cheese burger was burnt at edges Also even though ordered off main menu when waitress brought the food she said it was lunch burgers? The vegetarian burger should never have been able to leave the kitchen you could get better at a van next to the side of the road. Thankfully I was offered an alternative which arrived after my partner had finished his meal. Bill arrived charging for main course burger even though served lunch portion, this was rectified when brought to the attention of the waitress. Certainly won't be recommending any time soon to friends and family.

We come here each week - and never disappointed! We were served this week by Denise, always friendly and professional. She is very attentive, always wanting to go the extra mile with anything we request. Very pleasant. Surrounds are always good, especially in the current climate. We feel safe here, as there is attention to detail with sanitisation and the restrictions. The restaurant staff are always careful to explain to people who have not been before, the safety around the restaurant floor, and procedures in place. Nothing left to chance. We have booked Christmas Day here, as we did last year!

Had the best time celebrating my dad's birthday before halloween - the food was great, the atmosphere was too. Also very clean!! Denise was our server for the night and I've never met a friendlier server, or anyone so approachable, wonderful and helpful! Denise has served us twice in here now, and every time she makes it incredible. Had a great time and can't wait to come back again

Had a great steak dinner at Miller and Carter, Heaton Chapel, Stockport. I opted for the black Angus rump steak (medium) while my wife went for the sirloin (medium rare). Both steaks were cooked to perfection and served with simple yet tasty sides. The onion loaf is a family favorite. M&C seem to have got the covid safety very well sorted. Tables are well spaced out and a one way system is in operation. We never got within a few meters of other diners and our server, Denise, looked after us very well.

Food and hospitality was brilliant. Amazing customer service shown by the tall blonde guy, made out visit delightful.

called in for saturday lunch 24th october 2020.ordered drinks then made a selection from the menu. my wife ordered the lamb and i ordered the chef`s recommendation, scallops, lobster, prosecco sauce, peas, panacetta and skinny fries. the waitress took the order but after a few minutes returned and informed me that my meal was not deemed "substantial" after some toing and frowing the saturday supervisor appeared, she claimed that she wasn`t allowed to serve me my choice of meal as it was not a substantial meal. i was somewhat confused with her interpretation of what a sustantial meal is. she was unable to define it. the meal i had ordered came with skinny fries but she suggested that i should order a portion of chips even if i did not want to eat them so enabling her to circumnavigate the very rule she wanted to uphold and she would then deem it substantial. a purely subjective interpretation on her part. one of the problems of employing inexperienced people at the customer interface is a lack of skilful experience and a modicum of common sense. she then suggested that she take our drinks away. i refused and suggested that we would think about things and she might return in a few minutes. she was unhappy with this suggestion and remarked that we would be drinking our drinks. how rude is that?we were drinking our drinks, that`s why we ordered them, yes it`s getting silly isn`t it.our appetite for a nice meal was diminishing by the minute.she then remarked that we might be better visiting another establishment and then accused me of being rude to her on a previous visit, no evidence to support that accusation though, just a random remark to try and put me on my defence. (review of that visit available on trip advisor) ah, now the penny dropped, silly me, there will no doubt be a carefully written response to this review which will demonstrate how mistakes and poor customer service can be glossed over with a determination to defend the indefensible.

My Husband and I loved every minute of eating out in Miller and Carter (for the first time)! Denise, our server was amazing. She was so helpful and lovely, especially with me being coeliac and cheese intolerant! It was taken seriously and I still had fantastic options. Gorgeous food, first class service from Denise and over all a top evening! Thank you!

This was the first time I have been out for a meal in months and it was amazing. The restaurant accommodated social distancing perfectly and I felt very comfortable the whole time. The food was perfect, service top notch and I would highly recommend eating here. I would also like to thank Denise for some of the best service I've ever had. Spent time here with family for a birthday celebration. The staff here have Covid regulations set up perfectly and didn’t at all impact our visit in a negative way. Food excellent with a very good children’s menu. Sharing fudge cake dessert is a chocolate lovers dream! Special mention to Denise our server who was friendly, helpful and made the extra effort to include my 5 year old in conversations. Thanks to all, you are doing a fab job!

Denise was amazing and was always right on time to bring our drinks, take orders and bring our food - very helpful. The steak was of course to die for and the sticky toffee pudding was the perfect ending to our lunch. Will definitely be back again, very soon!

I saw online that they had brought the date night deal back on a Thursday so I decided to book a table. Booked online which was nice and easy. On arrival we were greeted by a cheerful host who explained the changes ( we haven’t been since COVID) it was clear to see they had worked hard to balance safety but to still have that friendly and not to clinical atmosphere. We sat in what used to be the bar area and at 1st I was a little miffed as I used to like sitting in the main restaurant area. My partner told me not to be an old grump and to sit down, I have to say once a few more tables arrived it felt better and I would even go as far as saying I would ask to sit there again. Anyway on to the food I had the ‘dirty burger’ it was amazing my partner had a steak and she said it was fabulous. Compliments to the chef. For desserts we had the crumble with custard that was delicious also. The service was friendly but not intrusive, by a young gentleman I can’t remember his name. I don’t normally leave reviews but credit where credit due. Thank you Miller and Carter for a lovely evening and we will be back again soon

We took some friends out for a meal who had never been to a M&C before. Immediately on being seated they were impressed with the surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful (especially our food server, Ria). The food was delicious as always and it was decided we would be going back again in the not too distant future. Thanks for a very pleasant experience.

Visited again, to enjoy a tasty meal with my family. The restaurant continues to provide excellent, quality food that is cooked to my liking. To start with, welcomed politely and our waiter, Shaun, was courteous, friendly, polite and helpful, in a nutshell, "SUPERB". All the staff that we met were great, a BIG thank you to you all. Thoroughly recommended and will be visiting again.

Excellent Covid prep, well spaced tables and clear instructions on arrival. Good booking tool, communication was excellent.Food is very good, quality of the meat is superb and the accompanying sides are plentiful and tasty. Non steak dishes seem good too. Big portions, worth the money.

Visited miller and Carter last night 10/10/2020 and can’t believe I’ve never been to this quality restaurant since it changed from the Toby cavery .arrival and seating fast plenty of COVID instructions and Sanatisers everywhere seating spread out nicely it felt nice and relaxed , our waitress was outstanding for the evening and she was called LAURA , the food was served quick and hot and was delicious and got a nice surprise birthday dessert which was great will definitely be returning and hope we are served by Laura once again .

Had a deliveroo delivery from Miller and Carter. Cannot fault the food or service but one minor issue was they forgot to put the sauces in. Small thing though, meal was amazing and will order again soon. Please don't forget the sauces!

We have been a few times now and the food is just delicious. Staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. Especially out waiter Shaun who has served us twice. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We went for a "family" dinner and I absolutely love every bit of it. The venue is very pleasant, we were kindly welcomed and advised of all the covid19 related rules. Our waitress Nicole was lovely, polite, kind, attentive but not too much, making sure we had all we needed at all times, such good service. The food was of course gorgeous. Lovely shared starters including mushrooms and cheese bake with bread chipotle chicken and little yorkies (!!!!). Followed my marvelous 50 day aged fillet mignon, ribeye and 8oz sirloin, we were amazed by how tender was the meat. Lettuce wedges with sauces, crispy fries and fabulous sauces.. we finished with a small desert to share and had two wine bottles. White sauvignon blanc to start with followed by full bodied Argentinian Malbec which was just perfect with the medium rare meat. Just wow, thanks.

Not been for a while due to covid-19 and initially had concerns over the social distancing - some restaurants I have been to have got strange concept of safe !!Booked a table for two asking to be seated near front, this was provided (table 73)all social distancing,one way system, toilets to use near us fully explained on arrival.Introduced to the staff dealing with us, ordered drinks, then our main course of lamb for my wife and Bistro steak for me - the steak was so well presented and cooked (medium) I initially asked had they made a mistake and given me a fillet steak.All the accompaniments were just perfect, the whole meal experience was the best I've had including the staff service, Shaun the server, great ambassidor to Miller and Carter knows how to treat people and give the best in house experience, Nicole who to my suprise remembered us-amazing and of course Zach the chef who would compete and probably beat the best, fantastic chef.Lastly, the bill, well I was pleasantly surprised at our bill, so- to sum up, outstanding restaurant experience, service and value for money, well done Miller and Carter.Ensure you give motivational feedback to the staff mentioned, they deserve it.Date of visit 2nd October 2020, table 73 19:45.

First visit here. The service was excellent. The food was delicious had fish and there was lots of it. The batter was nice and fine and crispy. The desert apple caramel crumble was to die for. Will be back.

We went to Miller and Carter on the last night of the Eat Out to Help Out promotion as a bit of a treat after a long lockdown where we literally hadn't been anywhere as we both work from home. Booking online was simple and I had a text reminder, which helps with my sleep deprived baby brain. The service was great, relatable chat and generally a breath of fresh air.Now for the food, I am a steak lover and travel a lot (it's my job) and have eaten in steak houses everywhere and I can honestly say that this was THE best steak I have ever had. The meal in general was lovely, although I wasn't a fan of the cheesy mushrooms and the "wedge" is pointless unless you want to eat 1/4 of a lettuce in one go?! But the blue cheese that came with the wedge was well received as steak and cheese are my 2 favourite foods!My hubby thought I was ill as I'm a talker and I was quiet the whole meal as I was honestly in heaven.We were served by Shaun!

We came for a meal for our family. We was approached by the manager who was very rude. Food was nice, but it was ruined by the way the manager spoke to us. I was there with wife and children, I understand the world we are in with the current pandemic but there was no way to speak to us like the way he did.

The food here was absolutely beautiful! Far better than expected as I am not a massive fan of steak (gf birthday choice). The food was amazing, steak was cooked perfectly, I’m quite a fussy person with how my steaks cooked but I ordered blue and I got blue which never happens! The server Shaun/Sean was so helpful with allergens (coeliac and lactose intolerant) and he went above and beyond to make sure myself and my girlfriend had plenty of options and we’re as risk free as possible. Can’t wait to come back!

In these very strange and changing times it is really nice to have a constant and we get that here at M&C, with fantastic food, always greeted with a genuine smile and great service, actually more like dining with friends. Even managed to make room for a mini desert and coffee today, rounded the meal nicely. A big shout out to Nicole.

We came for my fiancé’s birthday, our waiter called Sean was so helpful and recommended the tomahawk, best choice ever. We shared this between us both. It came with sides. So you don’t have order any extras. Can’t wait to come again, would defo have this steak again.

Even though we are going through all these changes due to COVID-19 the Food was beyond amazing. However the staff did look like they was completely confused about everything. However the services was good and would definitely recommend going back again

I attended with my husband, we live locally and as I had heard mixed reviews we decided to try this place ourselves, when arriving we were stood in a long queue that went out the door, then we were seated which appeared to be the old pub seating and not in the restaurant which was disappointing siting next to the door with people queuing alongside us and people checking into the Hotel. Slow service but it was 'eat out to help out' so I expected that, the starter came and was ok, I had ordered a Steak medium and when it arrived I couldnt cut it with a steak knife, I asked the kitchen to look at it and they agreed that it was totally over done and they apologized, I was surprised a steak house could get this so wrong, the duty manager came over and said to me 'that wont be on my bill' I explained since I hadn't eaten any of it I wouldn't expect it to be, my husband had finished his meal so it was awkward, the staff asked me if I wanted a starter, well of course not I wanted a steak, I ordered a fillet ( which they charged me for although messed up the first one ) I waited 20 minutes I expected them to offer me a drink whilst waiting for a correction to their mistake but no!! The waitress was actually really nice and apologetic but I didn't fine the Manager on the night had any customer service skills etc. Eventually the second steak turned up and was rare not medium by this time id had enough so I ate around the best cooked bits, it was so bloody my husband was turning away, the whole plate went back yet again and I didn't express my disappointment as by this stage we had enough!! The waitress took the plate away and we were charged for everything...nice.The next day I asked the Manager to call me and he did but just said they were busy and that was that really, didn't say anything much so guessing this is usual.I went away on holiday to Spain and when I came back I was still thinking about this horrible experience and every time we drove past I still felt upset and annoyed by how poor the food and service was, I had told the Manager I didn't want to come back etc as we didn't, two steaks both poor with a side salad of half a lettuce and soggy croutons.... really poor!So as I still wasn't happy I wrote to general Manager, she complained that she thought this was resolved and not happy I had contacted her again, she also complained that I said I felt the team had no passion or energy, apparently I had to meet her to gage this, whereas it was clear from all the communication.She offered me a £30 voucher but the condition was that I came in when she was in as she required a 'chat' with me, then went to disclose her 3 years experience and brag about her personal achievements, somehow this complaint was to highlight her career and little about the rubbish food - she also accused me of insulting the staff as I felt that the Manager looked scruffy and to me that added to the poor experience.The reality is they cooked to steaks badly, the overall Manager was quite rude and I have forwarded her email onto HQ and as I said to her we wouldn't come there if we were dragged there!Actually reading the reviews below so many of the customers have mentioned the poor staff - clearly not just me then - we are not all wrong then !!

Staff like to stare, especially the bartender by the door. The guy greeting you in the suit is cool but the bartender loves a good stare. Unprofessional and poor from such a big company

Served by Jamie today. We have had great service, as always. We regularly come here weekly, as it is consistently excellent service, clean and sanitised throughout the premises|!

Our first time out for a meal with Covid restrictions and M&C had everything in place, social distancing tables, hand sanitisers, one entrance and one exit.The food was amazing as it always is here, the chedder mushrooms, loaded garlic bread, followed by the Steak Burger cooked perfectly, and then of course the profiteroles. Our server today was Kiarno who was excellent as a server to our table instead of us usually seeing him behind the bar. Will be back soon

Shaun was our waiter and provided us amazing service. The fillet steak which i had was absolutely spectacular and everyone else also thoroughly enjoyed there meal. We can’t wait to go back!

Lovely steaks.. just as good if not better than expensive Manchester restaurants. Jamie the waiter was very welcoming, helpful and friendly, will definitely be back.
